My Most Precious One (24 page)

“Fuck baby, I can feel your cream on my cock.” He came right after grunting as he slapped my ass. He rested his head to my back.

“I love you.” He breathed.

Clubbing

Roxi, Kaci and I spent the day shopping and getting dressed for the club at night. I found a perfect top to match a pair of black skinny pants I had just bought.

“Holy shit girl! You think Lukas will be ok with it?” Roxi asked looking at it.

“Seriously, it’s like two pieces of string put together.” She continued.

“Don’t exaggerate.” Kaci exclaimed “It’s perfect.”

It really was, it was black silk that had a little bit of lace in the front, but the kicker was the back. It didn’t have one, it was completely bare.

“It will show off my back muscles.” I winked at Roxi.

“Yeah and then Lukas will kill you.” She shook her head. “Whatever, more entertainment for me.”

I agreed to get dressed with the girls at their hotel suite and I nearly fainted at the sight of it.

“Yeah I know, he really went all out, making sure he won us over.” Kaci said as she walked around this lavish hotel suite with a view of Manhattan.

“The thing is he won me back the moment he came to speak to us.” Roxi interrupted my gawking.

I turned to her surprised. This was the first time I heard anything about Lukas meeting my girls.

“When did he speak to you guys?” Kaci gave me the fuck off look. “Not telling.” I rolled my eyes at her, I’d ask him later.

We finished with our makeup and it was time to go down and drive to the club. Lukas had us on a list so all we had to do was say our names and we would get on.

“Get in the back of the line ladies!” Yelled the bouncer, he was huge like all bouncers are, with a heavy New York accent.

“Hey guy!” Screamed Roxi “We’re on the list.”

He smirked. “Yeah so is everyone else sweetheart. Get in the back of the fucken line like everyone else.”

I could see Roxi turning red. “You listen, you asshole. I’m telling you we’re on the list.” I grabbed Roxi’s arm knowing her she’d get into a fight.

“Forget it, I’ll just call Lukas.” I reached for my phone and called him.

Hey where are you?”
He asked. I could barely hear him over the loud music.

“I’m outside. The bouncer won’t let us in.” I answered looking at the bouncer. He just shrugged and went about doing his job.

“Motherfucker
” Lukas yelled
“did you tell him you’re on the list?”
I rolled my eyes, like we wouldn’t have already done that.

“Roxi bitched him out, but he still won’t let us in.” I could hear Lukas moving.

Stay there I’m coming outside to get you.”
Lukas hung up and I put my phone back into my purse.

“See Roxi, all you have to do is call on the boyfriend.” Kaci said sarcastically smiling at Roxi.

“Bite me.” Roxi retorted.

The door opened and there stood Lukas.

“Mr. Blakk, how may I help you?” All three of us did a double take. Was that the same bouncer that just spoke to us?

“You can help me by letting in my girlfriend and her friends into my club. Remember their faces because this will be a onetime deal!” Lukas growled.

“Yes Mr. Blakk, I’m sorry for the misunderstanding.” The bouncer moved to the side.

“Misunderstanding? Didn’t they say they we’re on the list?” He demanded.

“Yes sir.” The huge bouncer was now being scolded and I started to feel badly about it.

“And you still shrugged them off?” I walked passed the bouncer and stood in front of Lukas.

“Let it go Lukas, it’s not a big deal.” I tried to soothe him.

“It’s a big fucken deal to me! I don’t like anyone treating you like shit.” I cupped his face in my hand.

“He was doing his job. He just assumed we were trying to scam him and had it been any other night, he might have been right. It’s not the first time the three of us went clubbing.” I offered him a smile and a wink.

“Fine.” He relented.

“So you own this club?” I asked as he glared at the bouncer one more time.

“Yes I do.” He brooded. He took my hand while Kaci and Roxi followed.

He had a table reserved for us. I did a double take when I saw Erik was there waiting for us to arrive. I remember Erik from the last time he was in Montréal. He nodded at us.

“Hey you.” He winked and stopped short when he saw Kaci. She lowered her head. “Kaci, why don’t you sit here next to me?” Erik offered as he patted the seat next to him.

Jacob and Mike stood behind the table flanking us on both ends. Lukas sat down and waved over a waitress to get our drinks, when I heard Roxi scream.

“Bitch it’s our song!” To Roxi we had a lot of songs, songs I didn’t even know we had, but the beat was great and yes I did love it. It was Shake It by Dam Edge. She yanked me from Lukas. That’s when I heard him growl. So he finally saw the rest of my outfit.

Roxi and Kaci buffered me from the crowd and I just let loose. I’m not going to toot my own horn, wait a minute, yeah, I am. I know how to shake and dance. To the point that I surprise myself, but I can’t take all the credit. It’s all the years of belly dancing at Greek dances that my mother forced me to go to. I shook my hips to the heavy beat, gyrating and grinding with Roxi and Kaci. We laughed and swung our hips together. The next song came on and the beat was wild. We let loose and Roxi totally went all out. Kaci and I laughed our asses off as we watched her go. She loved it. I pulled Kaci aside.

“What’s going on with you two?” I pointed to the table.

“Nothing.” She said a little too quickly.

“Yeah ok. I’ll let it go for now, but I’m going to find out.” She didn’t respond to my threat. I narrowed my eyes at her about to tell her off for not telling me when I felt a hand on my arm. I turned and it was some random guy.

“Hey sweetheart, want to dance?” He said in a New Jersey accent. He was tall and thin, not much to say on looks.

“Not interested.” I shrugged him off.

“Come on.” He said again.

“I’m giving you one more warning, the next one and it’s my fist in your face.” I went back to my girls, but he insisted, I turned around and clocked him in the gut. He doubled over.

“I warned you.” I hissed. He stood up and started for me. That’s when I saw Lukas fly into a rage and had Jacob and Mike take him outside.

“Are you ok?” Lukas was checking to see if I was hurt.

“I’m fine.” I shrugged.

He looked at my hand, “God damn it, you and your right jab.” He was fuming, he pulled me through the crowd and I could feel my world around me get smaller.

My breathing became harder. I could hear him yelling at me, but he wasn’t looking behind to see me. My panic had gone full blown. He finally turned when we reached a door and his eyes nearly bugged out.

He opened the door and took me inside, taking me in his arms. I pushed away trying to breathe.

“What happened?” He said in a panic as he held my face. He almost looked as bad as me.

“I don’t do crowds well.” I murmured as I pushed his hands off my face and headed towards the leather couch that was by the wall. My body was shaky and I felt faint.

“You have to be kidding me! Then why the fuck did you agree to come here?” He yelled. My breathing only got worse with his yelling.

“Not… helping…” I managed to say. He knelt down in front of me.

“Sorry.”

“Alexia.” He said tightly waiting for an explanation.

“When I’m with Kaci and Roxi, they make little barriers, I know it’s stupid, but it helps. I don’t know why I can’t do crowds, haven’t been able to for a while. If I concentrate I can kind of control it, but the reality is sometimes I can’t. I wanted to come. It sucks to be left at home all the time. I wanted to do this for my friends and you.” I murmured embarrassed that he saw me like this.

“And when did you think you should have told me about this?”

I looked at him with the best puppy face I could muster. “Never.”

His face contorted. “What?”

I lowered my shoulders defeated in the idea that I was going to keep this from him. “Look Lukas, I never wanted you to know this about me. It’s embarrassing.” I moved to the side and stood up leaving him on the floor.

“Where the hell do you think you’re going?” He barked.

“Out there.” I pointed to the door.

He shook his head “Not on your life. You think I’m going to let you go out there dressed like that? I nearly came in my pants when I saw your top.” He stood and walked over to me. “And I’m almost certain that I wasn’t the only one, which by the way pisses me right off.” He seethed.

I exhaled “The whole point of the top was to make you cream your pants Lukas.” I tried my best seductive stare.

“I’ll have you know that you are the only one I see. I don’t give a flying shit about anyone else who is looking at me. Let them look. You are the only one who can touch me and have me.” I said.

He growled under his breath, annoyed with me. “Do you honestly think I’m going to let you go out there and dance around the way you do dressed the way you are?”

I shook my head, what just happened? “I’m sorry are you my father? Did I somehow sign my rights away to you?” I asked not giving him a chance to answer as I continued my tirade.

“You listen here, Lukas Blakk, I can very well dress how I please and take care of myself. I don’t need your approval.” I went for the door.

“Alexia!” He cried out “Don’t you dare!”

No one challenges me. No one. I opened the door and stormed out.

It was kind of tricky, but I found a way back without freaking out completely. Roxi and Kaci gave me a knowing look, like they knew I was scolded. Fuck you too. I told Roxi I had a headache. I looked over to tell Kaci I was going home, that’s when I noticed that she was now busy with Erik. Bitch, she is so going to tell me was is going on when I talk to her next.

I motioned for Jacob and asked him to give me a lift home. I contemplated going to sleep at the hotel, but I already gave him shit for doing the same thing. Leaving wasn’t a solution. I walked into the penthouse and took a long hot shower. I rolled myself into bed and let sleep take me away from my fight with my Suit. The asshole.

I felt the bed dip and Lukas crawl in. He was trying to be quiet, not to wake me, it didn’t matter I was too angry to sleep. It was the first night we had been together that we hadn’t made love, which pissed me off even more.

Lukas was up early. I guess he couldn’t sleep either. I rolled up and he turned to me.

“Still pissed?” He asked. His voice hoarse.

“Yeah. You?” I asked.

“Yes.” He snapped. I pulled my knees up to rest my head on.

“So I’m guessing this will be an interesting day then.” Knowing him he’d brood all day and make me pay for it later. He sat down in his leather chair his elbows on his knees and his body hunched over.

“I’m sorry that I upset you, but I’m not sorry for what I said.” He bit out. I could feel the quieted anger rising again.

“I wanted to look…” I stopped myself “Never mind.”

“You can’t do that Alexia you said we needed to communicate. I need you. Don’t you understand? I’m not going to lose you to some fucken Greek.” He bellowed in a tortuous voice, I looked up stunned by his comment.

“What are you talking about?” I asked. He stood up and began pacing, running his fingers though his hair.

“I can’t shake this feeling like…like I’m some kind of stepping stone for you. That you’ll leave me the moment you find someone better suited.” His revelation nearly floored me. I stood from the bed and walked over to him, putting my hands on his face.

“Lukas I love you. I love you completely. There is nothing in this world that will ever change that. God Lukas, did I ever give you that impression?” I asked horrified.

“No, not in so… no.” He hesitated. Tears prickled my eyes.

“Lukas, if there ever was a man made for me, it’s you. All I did my whole life is wait for you to appear and now I’m whole and happy. Your name has always been branded on my heart. You are my soul and my world.” I said quietly. He relaxed his shoulders and caved in. A single tear fell from his beautiful face. I quickly wiped it away with my thumb.

“I love you, my most precious one.” I murmured. He gave me a faint smile. “That’s my line.” He said softly as he pulled me into his arms.

“I love you so much, Alexia.”

He held me tightly. “You know we didn’t make love yesterday and it really bothered me, so I was thinking we make up for it today.” I could hear him smile. That’s the Lukas I knew. The rest of the morning we spent making up, but true to Lukas’ form the man punished me for the top I wore. But what a fine punishment it was.

The Bistro

We flew back to Montréal, Roxi, Kaci and I, courtesy of Lukas’ airs.

“Did you know he had a private jet?” Roxi asked me as we sat down waiting for the plane to take off.

“It’s the size of a normal plane!” Kaci added. I ignored them both, I was a bit melancholy. Leaving Lukas behind had become harder every time I came here. When we were finally able to unbuckle our seat belts, I left the girls and spent my time catching up with Alicia and Jack, I had missed them. Kaci and Roxi were still marveling at the private jet he had, I didn’t really care since I had been in it quite a few times before.

Peter met us at the private airport and drove us back home. The words that Lukas said still lingered in my mind. I felt dumb for even letting him feel the way he felt. I didn’t even notice and here I was proclaiming him my lover and that I loved him more than life itself. I decided that I needed him to see my determination.

I walked into my tattoo artist’s place, the familiar sound of buzzing and heavy metal music was dancing through the air.

“Lexi!” I heard Chris yell out as he saw me walk in.

“Hey what’s up?” I reached over and hugged him.

“Nothing much. How about you? Are you here to get another piercing?” He asked. Chris was tattooed from head to toe, but it wasn’t overdone. He was buffed up and had two earrings on either ear. He had long wavy hair that he often tied up in a high ponytail.

“Nah, here for a tattoo.” I waved my hand at him.

“Shit seriously? You know I’m the one who’s going to do it, right?” He smiled from ear to ear.

“Yeah I know. Why do you think I’m here?” I laughed.

“Cool, I got some time now, unless it something complicated, then we’ll do a consultation.” He walked me to his station.

“Nothing complicated.” I took out my phone and showed him.

“Ok, cool, where?” He readied his area.

“Right over my hip bone.” I lifted my shirt.

“Nice, send me the pic through text so I can make a stencil of it and we’ll get started.”

Twenty minutes and with some pain and soreness later, the tat was ready. I walked over to the mirror and admire it. ‘Louka
ς’
was written in thin black ink on my body. I branded myself with his name in Greek. I could already hear the various comments everyone would make, but either way the man changed my life and who I was. I wanted to remember him. It wasn’t for him so much as it was for me, for us and what we meant to each other.

My work week started like any other. The only difference was that Roxi and Kaci wouldn’t stop talking about our New York fiesta. Which reminded me.

“So you and Erik, what the hell is up with that?” I stared at Kaci.

“Yes inquiring minds would like to know?” Roxi added. Kaci busied herself, but I blocked her.

“Come on, tell us.” I urged.

“I don’t know.” She relented.

“One day he’s calling me nonstop, the next he avoids me.” She stopped and dropped her shoulders. “I like him, I like him a lot.” She gauged our reaction, holy shit, Kaci never liked anyone. This was huge.

“Did you guys…?” I asked slowly waiting for her response. A slow grin began to emerge. “And it was so fucken good.” She smirked.

“Damn!” Roxi and I cried out.

I laughed “Good for you.”

She laughed. “Yeah well it would be good if I didn’t get the hot and cold treatment.”

Roxi reached for the coffee pot behind Kaci. “Listen if the guy only wants your pussy then fuck him, literally unless you want more, otherwise who gives a shit.”

I nodded “Very wise words, Roxi.” Roxi sashayed herself to her table.

“What is it that you want? Seriously?” I knew Kaci would have a hard time answering. The girl didn’t do commitment well.

“I don’t know, I… I don’t know.” she started stuttering.

I calmed her down. “I’m here when you want to talk.”

The bell of the front door rang and we both looked up, there stood a stately couple. They must have been in their late sixties. The woman was wearing a very expensive Chanel suit and snapped her fingers at me.

“Do we seat ourselves or do you do that for us?” Bitch meter read high, so this was not going to my section. I looked around. Beside Kaci the only one I had to put them in was Roxi’s. Sorry babe.

“Right this way.” I guided them to a table by the window in her section and walked away. I got the shivers as I walked back to our station.

“Yeah thanks” I heard Roxi say.

“Sorry babe, love you.” I smiled apologetically.

“Sure you do.” She huffed.

I could see Roxi having a hard time with them, and I almost regretted it. Not really, but I figure it’s what I should say. They ate and left, but not before giving us the dirties looks.

“Wow rich people are fucked.” Roxi added as they walked out.

Saturday morning came, it was a dreary day. The rain had not let up and I was not looking forward to working. Lukas kept me up last night as we talked about everything and anything, making me tired and craving my bed.

The morning started off normal until the two old rich people came back, there was something about them I couldn’t quite place it. Roxi screwed me.

“Payback’s a bitch.” I heard as I passed Roxi and walked up to the table that they sat at.

“Good morning” I waited, but no response. Asshats I thought. “Is there anything you would like to start off with?” She waved me off with the flick of her hand. I swallowed air instead of ripping her hand off. I knew she was going to so fuck up my day. Customers don’t realize this, but the reality is your moods affect us. You might be having a bad day, but taking it out on us doesn’t make it right.

She snapped her fingers at me gaining my attention.

“A cappuccino and an espresso for my husband.” I nodded not saying anything and brought the drinks.

“Would you like to order?” I asked even more politely. I was trying to reign in my temper. She pointed at two items on the menu and I proceeded to right them down. Again I nodded silently.

When the food was ready, I looked over to Roxi. “Watch there’s going to be something wrong with her plate?”

I walked with their plates to their table and set them down.

“This is not what I ordered.” The woman said in a shrill voice. I could feel my heart rate jump.

“Yes it is, you pointed at two very specific items and these are said items.”

The door chimed, but I didn’t notice who it was, I was too engrossed in my problem.

“No you seem to not know what you are doing.” She screamed making a scene in front of everyone.

“Fine! Then what is it that you would like?” I asked trying to defuse the situation.

She smiled. “It’s nice of you to finally ask, but then again you are nothing but a waitress, so your IQ isn’t really able to compute. Mollie told us you looked just like her.”

The moment I heard her name my legs went numb and my belly ached from my nerves.

“I seriously don’t understand that boy and his ridiculous fascination, with the likes of individuals like you. It must not feel good to be a copy of his past lover. She too was not the most beautiful thing.” She said menacingly.

“What I want is for you to leave my son alone and I won’t cause you any more trouble. Isn’t that right Charles?” Her husband only grunted ignoring his wife’s antics as he read his paper.

Before I could wrap my mind around what just happened, I saw my mother come to my aid.

“Your son would be lucky to have her. How dare you speak to her like that. You have no idea about my daughter and how special she is?” My mother yelled while Lukas’ mom scoffed.

“Your daughter is nothing but a money grabbing whore that should obviously stick to her own kind.”

My mother’s face turned beet red, I knew that face. I’ve seen that face as I grew up. She reached over for the plate that was in front of Lukas’ mother and dumped the food all over her.

“Ma!” I cried out.

“No, I don’t think so. No one treats my daughter like that, no one.” My mother’s heavy accent was made more prominent when she was angry.

Lukas’ mother screamed for the owner. Philip showed up and was angry. I knew he loved me, but business was business.

“What’s going on here?” He yelled. I tried to explain to him, but Lukas’ mom kept telling him to fire me, I knew he didn’t want to, but she made it almost impossible saying she was going to call the cops and cause the store more problems. I reached over and touched his arm, trying really hard to hold back my tears.

“It’s ok. I’ll go.” Philip’s face contoured.

“Lexi, I’m sorry I just don’t know what to do? She keeps saying she’ll keep coming back here to see if you’re working. I’m not going to expose you to this, but I can’t lose money either.” I cashed out my sales and gave him my money. My mother waited for me outside. Her face full of sorrow, she was sorry she caused me trouble and sad that I lost my job that I loved so much.

Kaci and Roxi were so irate that they both refused to talk to Philip, while Gavin and Cooly were fuming, saying they saw it all and that it was the bitch’s fault not mine.

My mom came home with me. She kept insisting that Lukas’ mom was a bitch and couldn’t believe that Lukas had a mother like that. I explained that Lukas doesn’t even speak to them. My mother said she understood why. The day was all screwed up and I didn’t know what to do first. Should I call Lukas and tell him or just pretend that this didn’t happen? My mom left after she made me a meal to try to cheer me up, we hugged and kissed and I told her I loved her.

My phone kept ringing it was the girls, but I wasn’t in the mood to talk to them about this. Lukas didn’t call so I guess his bodyguard didn’t notice anything weird, but how was I going to get this by him tomorrow? I figured I pretend that I was sick, see if that would work.

Panic had started to set in, I had to find a new job. I hated the feeling, my nerves always got the best of me and it would take time for me to build up my client base again. I was a fighter and I figured it would be ok. Right?

My usual phone call from Lukas came right on time. I took a deep breath and answered it.

“Hey baby.” I sang.

“Hey, I missed you. How was your day at work?” I cringed inwardly.

“You know the usual, bitchy customers. You? What did you do today?” He laughed and continued the conversation. We spoke for a few hours. I could feel my heart growing heavier, every time I thought about my job. My heart hurt. I loved it there.

“Are you ok?” He asked cautiously, I sniffled.

“Yeah I’m fine probably coming down with a cold.” I lied.

“A cold?” Yeah, he was suspicious.

“So is that how we are going to act now? Even after everything that happened? After everything we talked about? You’re still going to keep me at arms’ length?” He silenced me, I didn’t know whether he knew or not.

“Open the damn door Alexia!” He said angrily, my belly dropped.

I walked over to my door and he walked in and leaned on my counter with his arms crossed.

“I flew in this morning wanting to see you. I called Jacob to see whether you were at the bistro or you were cut early. He said he saw you leave with your mother and you were crying. I texted Roxi and she called me, telling me everything that happened. So my question is when were you going to tell me or were you going to stay silent about this?” He had a murderous glare and I began to cry.

“I loved that job, Lukas. I loved it and now I don’t have it, so can you at least yell at me after? Right now, I’m just really heartbroken about this.” His lips disappeared into a thin line and I could see he was struggling to keep his composure.

“What exactly happened?” He asked.

I gave him the run down telling him everything. He smirked when he heard that my mom defended me by dumping food on his mother’s lap.

“I needed that job Lukas.” I cried out.

“I’m sorry.” He murmured.

“Yeah, me too.” I said sadly.

He froze. “What is that supposed to mean?”

I shook my head. “Nothing, I’m just pissed.” He grabbed my arms and pulled me in front of him.

“Alexia, what did you mean?” He roared.

“Ever since I met you, all I had to do was deal with things. You never had to deal with the things I dealt with.” I lowered my head.

“Do you regret this?” He said in a pained manner that pulled at my heart.

“No” I said meekly “I’m pissed Lukas. Why did I have to lose my job because of this? Why couldn’t they just leave me alone?” He watched me closely.

“I’ll take care of it I promise.” He said softly.

“I don’t want you to take care of this. I want them to leave me alone. Why threaten to go to the cops? Why say that they’d come back and see if I was still working there? Why bother with me at all?”

He pulled me into his embrace. His arms acted like a soothing blanket. I cried my eyes out. Angry, that I was humiliated. Sad, that I somehow lost my independence. Fuck was all he murmured.

He picked me up bridal style and carried me into bed. I winced, my tat was still raw.

“What’s wrong?” He held his hands up wondering if he hurt me.

“Nothing, just a cramp.” I lied again. I was on a roll.

“Cramp my ass, you touched your side.” Before I could do anything he yanked my shirt up.

His breath hitched “Alexia.” His eyes darted back and forth to me and my tat. I could feel his thumb gently graze over it.

I flinched. “Careful.”
