No Escape From Destiny (16 page)

Adrian helped get
Nikkos
and Anstice into their bed and lay down next to them. He couldn’t stop wondering how that new trainee tasted like
Nikkos
.

Chapter Fifteen

Nikkos
woke up and opened his eyes to the most beautiful sight, the two people he loved the most in his life sound asleep next to him. The feeling was close to perfect, but there was something off. He could still smell the scent of the other male on both of them from when he had saved Anstice’s life after he had almost killed her.

He began to think maybe they were bad for her. After all, they had known her a week, and she had almost died twice because of them. He couldn’t think about that right now. He needed to do something to get rid of the other male, and the best way to do that was by replacing him with his own scent and blood.

* * * *

Anstice was having an amazing dream, being held in
Adrian
’s arms while
Nikkos
slowly kissed down her neck to her chest and drew her nipple into his mouth and held it there with his fangs. It took her a little while to make her way up through the fog of sleep, but when she did, she realized her dream was real. She was lying on her back, partially on top of
Adrian
’s chest with his arms around her, and
Nikkos
was nibbling on her nipple with those sexy fangs of his.

When she sucked in a breath,
Adrian
’s arms tightened around her, and he hissed. It only took a second for him to realize it was
Nikkos
waking them up. He reached up and wrapped his hand around the male’s neck, pulled him closer, and held him to her sweet breast.
Nikkos
looked at both of them from under his long lashes.

“I’m sorry to wake you up, but I need to get the scent of that other male off you both right now before I go insane.”

Anstice didn’t really understand what
Nikkos
meant, but
Adrian
must have. She watched as
Adrian
cupped
Nikkos’s
cheek and rubbed his thumb across his lips.
Adrian
whispered, “Come feed us, baby.”

Nikkos
wasted no time. He swiftly crawled up so he was holding Anstice down firmly between them. He quickly kissed her then arched his neck, giving
Adrian
access to his jugular. Anstice lay crushed between them, watching
Adrian
feed from
Nikkos
, and for reasons she would never even try to explain, her mouth started watering. She wanted a taste. Apparently
Nikkos
could tell what she was thinking because he whispered, “You’re next, baby, just as soon as our male is fed.”

She licked her lips and starting imagining the taste of him on her tongue. She knew that she should feel wrong, but she didn’t.
Adrian
let out a low moan, took one last mouthful, and sealed one of the wounds on
Nikkos’s
neck. He quickly kissed
Nikkos
and guided his neck to Anstice’s mouth, where she immediately starting swallowing the sweet blood.

“That’s it,
cardia mou
, feed from our male,” he whispered into her ear while he nibbled on the sensitive flesh. The feel of
Nikkos’s
blood running down her throat and
Adrian
’s fangs nipping at her ear was almost too much for Anstice. She knew she needed them inside her in every way possible right now. When she was full, she released
Nikkos’s
vein, licked the wound, and closed her eyes. She could feel
Adrian
leaning in toward
Nikkos’s
neck again.

When he stopped,
Nikkos
asked, “What?”

Adrian didn’t speak.

After a minute of their silence, Anstice opened her eyes to them staring at her. She tried to look all sweet and innocent, looking at them from under her lashes.

“What?”

Adrian was the first one to speak up. “His wound is healed.”

“Yeah, isn’t it supposed to be?”

“Yes, it is, but you were the one that sealed it.”

It took her a second to comprehend what they were telling her, and when it clicked into place, she wasn’t sure what to make of it. They had told her there was a healing quality in their saliva but there shouldn’t be in hers. Yes, she now had
Nikkos’s
blood and the blood of the other male she didn’t know, but they told her when she first woke up here a week ago that she couldn’t be turned into one of them. Were they wrong? Did they lie to her? Was she becoming one of them? If she did, what did that mean for her?

“Maybe you healed it when you were finished?” she said, looking at
Adrian
with tears in her eyes. She was grasping at straws and knew it.

“No,
cardia mou
, if I had healed him you wouldn’t have gotten any blood. Besides, we were all so caught up in the moment none of us realized you shouldn’t want to feed from him. You are human. You don’t live like that. The only reason we gave you blood before was to save your life. Or when we were having sex and one of us was feeding, and then kissed you with the other’s blood still on our tongues. The taste of blood should disgust you, but you looked as if you were craving it.”

Any hope she had drained away. “I know. So what does this mean?”

Nikkos
kissed her gently. “I don’t know, baby, but we’ll find out.”

* * * *

He kissed her forehead and gently rolled off his two mates, taking Anstice with him and holding her close to his chest.
Adrian
rolled with them, covering her with his body and holding them tight.

Nikkos
wasn’t sure what was going on, but they needed to find out. They had never heard of a human being turned into a vampire, but now with the things going on with her, was it possible? Maybe that was why it was against the rules to give their blood to humans. He could feel her whole body shake and knew she was trying hard not to let them know she was crying. It was no use. They could smell her tears. Tears always smelled fresh and clear, but everyone’s fear smelled different.
Antice’s
fear always smelled like a forest after a thunderstorm. He loved all of her scents, but this one, the one of fear, broke his heart.

“Don’t worry,
cardia mou
, we will figure out what’s going on and everything will be okay. This I promise you.”

“Did you lie to me about being able to turn a human?” she whispered.

Nikkos
placed his finger under her chin and forced her to look into his eyes. “We could never lie to you. We have never heard of a human being turned.”

She blinked back the tears in her eyes. “Just because you never heard of it doesn’t make it impossible, does it?”

She put her hands on
Nikkos’s
chest and tried to push herself up, but
Adrian
held her in place. There was venom in her voice when she said, “Let me up. I need to get out of here.”

Adrian still held tight. “We told you it’s not safe for you to leave here right now.”

“I’m not gonna try to leave the house. I just need to be alone right now.”

Nikkos
looked at
Adrian
over her shoulder. He wanted to keep her with them but knew she would begin to resent them if they didn’t let her have some space.
Adrian
kissed her shoulder and slowly pushed himself up off her. When his weight was off her, she wasted no time climbing over
Nikkos
and jumping out of the bed. She raced to the closet where her clothes were and reappeared moments later in workout clothes. She didn’t even look at them as she left the room and shut the door quickly behind her.

She was hurting, and it was their fault. She had a point. Just because no one had heard of it didn’t make it false.
Nikkos
wrapped his hand around
Adrian
’s neck and pulled him down to him so
Adrian
’s head was resting on his shoulder.
Nikkos’s
arms were around
Adrian
’s shoulders and
Adrian
’s arms were around
Nikkos’s
waist.

They lay entangled with each other for what seemed like forever. While it was wonderful, and they were comfortable with each other, it still hurt to know Anstice was somewhere in pain. They both decided at the same time that they needed to go find her. They got out of bed, dressed in jeans, and went to comfort their female.

“She’s in the gym,”
Nikkos
said.

They went down the stairs and headed there. As they approached the closed door to the gym, he could smell a mixture of her fear and anger. She had the right to be angry at them. They had completely changed her life the very first time they met her. He knew they should let her go home to her old life, but he just couldn’t. Not only did he need her, but she needed them. The
kynigos
had been watching her apartment for her to come home. If they got their hands on her, they not only would kill her, they would probably torture her for information on them first.

Nikkos
pushed the door open slowly to see her running on the treadmill, listening to her iPod. Her sweatshirt was hanging over the front of it, soaked with her sweat. She was running in her workout pants and a tight-fitting tank top. His cock immediately decided it wanted to be inside the female, and he knew they weren’t leaving this room until they were all sated.

Ajax, her boxer, was lying next to the treadmill, watching her like he was trying to figure out what was wrong with her.
Adrian
whistled to get the dog’s attention, took him out in the hall, and shut the door, leaving him outside. He was protective of her and, given the anger flowing off her in waves, this was going to be rough, and they didn’t need the dog making things more dangerous.

The boys approached her slowly. As fast as she was running, they didn’t want to startle her and make her fall. They moved in front of her, but she didn’t seem to notice them. She was either ignoring them or didn’t hear them over her music.

Adrian spoke up, “We need to talk.”

She didn’t reply.

He repeated, “We need to talk, please.”

“Unless you have an answer for what is going on with me and what is going to happen, I don’t want to hear anything you have to say.”

She was afraid and taking it out on them. That was fine with him. He blamed them for everything anyway, but they couldn’t go on with her ignoring them. He needed her as much as he needed
Adrian
. If he let this go on, they would lose her forever, and that was not an option.

Chapter Sixteen

Nikkos
had had enough. He grabbed her around the waist and yanked her off the treadmill. She started kicking and screaming to be let go, but it just wasn’t going to happen. Keeping one arm around her waist, he reached up with the other hand and wrapped it around her throat. She wanted to fight, fine, so be it, but he wasn’t going to hold back.

He tightened his grip around her slender throat until she lost the strength to fight him. He knew when to let go as her body went limp and she was close to passing out on him. He knew it wasn’t fair to use his superior strength against her, but he needed her to wake up and deal with what was going on.

* * * *

Adrian
wanted to interfere. He was afraid that between the anger the other two felt right now that someone was going to get hurt. He knew deep down that
Nikkos
would never intentionally hurt Anstice, but he had his huge hand around her fragile little neck, and he was cutting off her air supply. He watched as Anstice’s eyes slipped shut, and her whole body went slack. He couldn’t watch anymore. He stepped up in front of her just as
Nikkos
released her neck and placed both arms back around her waist.
