The sight of all those horses in the courtyard left Tom dumbstruck and Deidre in tears. The giant of a man hopped off his beautiful black stallion and walked with long strides toward them. Tom reached a hand out to the Comanche.

“It’s nice to see you, but you take an awful risk coming here. The soldiers were here asking questions just a week ago,” Tom told him. Grey Fox nodded.

“We are moving our village.” A look of understanding passed between them.

“You led all these horses here by yourself?” Tom asked, incredulous.

“No, I had help. I had Feather here to keep everyone in line.” Grey Fox smiled, then looked toward Deidre. “They are all for you,” he said firmly.

“What... for me?”

Sarah and Greyson stayed on the hill. She was too shocked to move. Grey Fox had come back, and he paid the bride price. Her heart leaped with joy to the point that she feared if she took a step she would fall.

She watched as his eyes searched her out and when he found her, he started walking toward her. When Grey Fox saw the baby with the thick, black hair he stopped dead in his tracks. Sarah proudly held her strong, healthy Comanche baby up for him to see. The baby that Red Dawn predicted would be the first of many.

He ran toward them, and they fell into each other’s embrace. She held the baby between them. He kissed his son on top of his head and then her deeply on the lips as tears soaked her face. Grey Fox then lifted the baby out of her arms and held the boy out to see his son, his Comanche son.

They embraced once again for a long time, the baby wiggling between them. When Grey Fox spoke, it was full with his love for his woman and their child.

“You have already started to fulfill the prophecy. You have also filled my heart, Sun Puma. You gifted me with this strong son. My heart is your heart, beyond the mountains and beyond the horizon.”

One hundred ponies on the plain is nothing compared to you.

I would pay it many times again, many times under the moon.

Our people are still proud and strong, though our numbers may be few.

Remember our time on Earth and carry it with you.
