Over the Barrel (34 page)

"She even
owns the house in Philadelphia?"

"Everything,
sir.

Here is the summation of her
holdings."

"Sloan,
this is a fortune.

I can't …"

"It's
yours, baby.

What are you going to
do?"

Blair inhaled
deeply.

"First, I am going to
resolve the pain in my family.

We
are taking a trip to Philadelphia and are going to tell Aunt Imelda the whole
truth of what happened between her, Lillian and Deuce.

I do forgive her of the transgression
against me, but I cannot in good faith allow her to continue living this lie
that has caused so much distress.

She will be permitted to stay at the house, under the condition that
Madeline remains as house matron."

"House
matron?

Miss?"

Madeline looked confused.

"We are
going to turn the Farbor Mansion into an orphanage.

There are twelve rooms with two wings,
large enough to house numerous children and their teachers.

Would you want to take that position,
Madeline?"

"Oh, yes,
Miss!

Yes!"

"We will
provide you with a stipend, as well as a generous allowance, to provide for all
the needs of the children.

Raise
them with the love you raised me with, Madeline.

I am entrusting them to you."

"Ms.
Farbor will be displeased," Madeline commented, attempting to hide a
smile.

"That she
will.

If it is too great for her to
handle, I will arrange for her to live in an apartment in the city," Blair
said, calmly.

"It will be a
far step down from her present living conditions, but it will allow her to be
isolated from the noise of children and deal with that of the street
instead."

"You are
a conniving little vixen, wife.

What else are you planning?"

"We will
build a school here in Manitou Springs and have it open to whomever wishes to
learn, including our friends, the Ute.

I will teach until others come here and take my place."

"I
approve," Sloan said, proudly.

"And the
final thing I shall do," she turned to her husband with a mischievous
smirk, "is practice that mating ritual the Ute told me about."

She ignored
the reddening cheeks of both the banker and Madeline as Sloan stood up and held
out his hand.

"If you will
excuse us, the Missus and I have some practicing to do."

Blair giggled
as he chased her up the stairs and cornered her against the wall.

"Do you
have any preferences, my love?" Sloan asked, stripping his clothes from
his body.

Blair followed
suit and grinned, tilting her head toward the broad wooden cask resting on its
side.

"How about over the
barrel?

But this time, without a
strap."

THE END

Breanna Hayse

“I
write what I know. With few exceptions, my scenarios are pulled from either
personal experience or observation. I've served overseas as an Intell
Specialist in the USMC, work as a nurse, and have degrees in Biology (pre-med)
and a masters in Psych. Specialty? Deviant behavior and alternative lifestyles,
of course. I put all of this together and try to bring about a fun, unique and,
hopefully, thought-provoking reading experience
