I waited for a lecture about missing work, a death threat, anything, but instead he walked into the genkan and hugged me tightly. I pressed my hands against his back. He was breathing hard. I buried my face against his shoulder, feeling his strength around me.

When he broke away, it looked as if it pained him to do so. “Oriana, why aren’t you at the hostess club?” He asked.

“Oh, I wasn’t feeling well,” I lied. “I called, but no one picked up and the voicemail was full.” I covered my lie with the truth.

“Thank goodness.” Tadao lifted my chin and kissed me softly. “I’m glad that you didn’t go in today.”

I jerked my head back. “Why?”

Tadao hesitated. “Don’t say anything to anyone, but there’s some stuff going on and I don’t want you to become a target,” He said. “It’s ok, don’t worry about it right now.” He leaned down to kiss me again.

I turned my head, ignoring the hurt look that flashed across his face. “You don’t want me to become a target? Really? You’re going to say that and then tell me not to worry about it and try to cover it up with kisses?”

“Do you want something more than kisses?” His lips twitched in a mischievous smile.

Oh, why did he have that power over me? I got hot just thinking about all the things his lips were good at. “No, that’s not what I meant,” I stuttered and blushed.

“You’re so cute,” Tadao whispered, pulling me to him again. His hands were gentle and forceful at the same time. “Can we talk about it later? Right now I just want to taste you.”

I caved. My heart burst and my body quivered as he kissed me. I wanted to have the willpower to say no, but I was helpless. One more fuck couldn’t hurt. Then I’d tell him that I was going away for a while. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? Then I’d know if he really wanted more than this.

Tadao shut and locked the door. He slipped off his shoes and grabbed me, pressing me against the wall while he kissed me. His hands pulled at my clothes.

We stumbled to the sofa. I pulled off my sweatpants and he knelt over me, kneading my breasts through my t-shirt. “Naughty girl, you’re not wearing a bra.”

I answered through my teeth as he pinched my nipples. “I wasn’t expecting company.”

“Lucky for me,” Tadao said. He pulled my shirt over my head, exposing me to him. My breasts were dotted with tiny bruises from our last session. He admired them for a second and then tied my hands together with the shirt.

I lay there in nothing but white panties, staring up at him as he undressed.

“You know,” He said. “I was really looking forward to taking you back to my place last night.” His eyes crept over my body from bottom to top and then back again. “I hoped that you would have stayed with me.”

I opened my mouth to speak. He pressed a finger to my lips. “Hush, no talking. You’re going to be a good girl and take your punishment.”

I quivered.

Tadao began rubbing my slit through my cotton panties. He used two fingers, pressing down between my folds and massaging my clit. He worked me up until my panties were soaked through. He brought his fingers to his mouth and licked them. “You sure are wet for someone who’s about to be punished.”

I stifled a moan. I didn’t know how much longer I would be able to keep quiet while his fingers teased me to the brink. I moved my arms, testing how tight they had been tied. I was stuck.

Tadao yanked my panties down and darted his tongue in and out against my swollen clit. He looked at me and smirked as I tried to keep myself quiet. “I said no talking, moaning is fine. In fact, it’s encouraged.” He tweaked my nipple.

I gasped, arching up to his touch and moaning.

“That’s better, isn’t it?” He massaged my clit with long gentle strokes, bringing me to the edge and then denying me release. Over and over.

I was worked into a frenzy by the time he decided to give me more.

Without warning, he plunged a finger inside me, pulled out and then pushed in two. My body opened to him easily. I felt hot and dizzy. I needed a release.

As if reading my mind, Tadao spoke. “Does my girl need to cum?”

I nodded, moaning as he curled his fingers upwards, pressing his fingertips against a sensitive spot.

The gentle strokes became hard, plunging in and out of me and stretching me open. He leaned down, breathing against my neck and then biting.

As his teeth scraped my skin, my body tensed and buckled as I came. I wriggled against the bonds that tied my hands above my head, but I was helpless. He pushed inside deeper as I had consecutive orgasms. When I was finally spent, he withdrew his hand.

I could smell the sex around us.

“Do you think you can manage one more?” Tadao asked, stroking his manhood with his hand that was slick with my juices.

“Please,” I managed to whisper. “Use me until you’re satisfied.”

“Now that is something I love to hear.” Tadao knelt over me, stroking the soft flesh of my inner thighs. “You’re so perfect, Oriana, and you’re all mine.”

Tadao thrust inside me. The brief pause had relaxed me, now my pussy was tight around him again. He bore down on me, pumping in and out of me like a beast. He propped himself up with his hands on either side of my head, holding my arms and staring into my eyes as he ravaged me.

The look in his eyes was enough to bring me to the edge. His breaths were hard, interrupted by the occasional groan. He lowered himself down and kissed me, untying the knot around my wrists.

I wrapped my arms against him, tracing lines down his back with my fingernails.

It was as if time stood still. I looked at him, catching a glimpse of my own reflection shining in his dark brown eyes. This is what a true connection felt like. Our souls becoming one, tied together in knots at our cores.

The pace intensified. Tadao grabbed my ass and held me as he hammered away.

Jolts of pleasure rippled through my body. I tried to arch and rub against him, but I was a captive in his arms.

He was getting close. His breath was straining, as if he never wanted to stop. Tadao brushed his lips across my cheek and down to my neck, where he bit into the curve between my shoulder and neck.

The pain was enough to send me over the edge. I moaned, pressing my hands against his hard muscles.

Tadao held me against him as he came, shooting seed, again and again, gasping with every spasm. He set me back down on the sofa, sweat glistening on our bodies.

I blinked dreamily, basking in the afterglow. I barely noticed when he pushed himself off the sofa to go to the washroom.

“Oriana. Why are your suitcases packed?”

I was snapped out of my post-sex daze.

Tadao must have seen the mess in my room on his way back from the bathroom. He stood there, shirtless, leaning against the wall and waiting for my answer. I doubted inviting him over to the sofa for round two would help in this situation. He had the plane ticket in his fist.

“Well,” I chose my words carefully. “One of my Aunts from Scotland called and she wanted to see me. She just heard about my parents and she thought that maybe it would be a good time to get together.”

“Get together,” Tadao said flatly. “Are you forgetting about the debt that you owe the Himura-gumi? Or were you planning on catching the next flight out of here to get out of our deal?” His eyes grew dark. “Don’t play with me like that, Oriana.”

I swallowed hard, standing up to dress. I felt his eyes on me as I pulled my clothes on quickly.

“Oriana, look at me.”

I turned around, staring him in the eye. I wouldn’t let him know that he was scaring me. I couldn’t look intimidated or he would win.

“You were going to leave without telling me?”

“I wasn’t aware that you were in charge of my every move.”

Tadao gritted his teeth. “We had a deal.”

“I would finish paying you once the vacation was over.”

“You can’t go, it’s not safe.”

“Safe?” I was taken aback. “Are you threatening me?”

“No! No,” Tadao said, taking a step forward. His hands were clenched at his sides. “No, that’s not what I meant. Something else is going on right now, Oriana. I can’t let you out of my sight.”

My face went red. “You know this whole
owning
thing is supposed to stop once the sex is over.”

“It’s not about the sex!” Tadao shouted. “And I could give a fuck about the money.” He threw his wallet down on the floor. “I could have paid that debt myself if I cared that much.”

I glanced at the wallet and then up to him. “Then what do you care about?”

With three strides, Tadao came to me and kissed me. He held my shoulders, kissing my lips with more tenderness than I had ever felt from him. “I care about you,” He said as he broke away. “I’ve been trying not to. I shouldn’t mix business and pleasure, but I can’t help myself. I’m crazy about you.”

“You know this whole
owning
thing is supposed to stop once the sex is over.”

“It’s not about the sex!” I shouted. “And I could give a fuck about the money.” I threw my wallet down on the floor. “I could have paid that debt myself if I cared that much.”

“Then what do you care about?”

Her. I hadn’t realized until earlier when I was scared for her life. I loved her. A weight was lifted from my shoulders as I admitted it to myself.

“I care about you,” I said as I pulled away from the kiss. “I’ve been trying not to. I shouldn’t mix business and pleasure, but I can’t help myself. I’m crazy about you.”

Oriana’s arms fell limp to her sides, her cheeks flushing and her dark green eyes staring at me. She was quiet after my confession. Too quiet.

My heart twanged with fear.

Finally, a soft smile spread across her face. “Really?”

“Yes,” I said.

Oriana rested her face against my chest. “I’m so glad. I was beginning to think that it was just about sex with you. Or because of the money.”

Honestly, it started that way. Of course, I wanted to make sure we got that debt taken care of. And the first few times I fucked her, it was only because of her perfect combination of beauty and kinkiness. Now, it was different. In that moment that I feared for her life, the overpowering need to protect her took over me and now I realized that I was dangerously close to falling in love.

I had never been in love before. I hadn’t even wanted it until I saw how happy my brother and his wife were together. Seeing the photos from the wedding made me jealous and angry. I deserved this happiness too. Maybe I had found it.

I wasn’t the best with words, so I held her instead.

We sat in the silence, doing nothing but listening to each other breathing.

I tried to relax, but my mind was still going a mile a minute. The Shimazu-kai were targeting her because of her proximity to me. Just like they did with Cassandra – and she had almost been killed a few times. If it had not been for Kenichi, she might have been. Now my Oriana was going to suffer the same fate if we didn’t get this situation under control.

“Oriana,” I said, rubbing her arm with my fingers. “I was thinking that maybe you should go to Scotland for a little while.”

Oriana bolted up. “What? Why?” A mixed expression of hurt and confusion flashed across her face.

“Just for a little while,” I promised. “I don’t think that Tokyo is safe for you right now.” I grabbed my blazer from the floor and pulled her photograph out of the breast pocket. “The Shimazu-kai, our biggest rivals, are targeting you. I found this on a guy who attacked me earlier tonight.”

Oriana snatched the photo, her eyes growing wide and round. “This is from two nights ago, the night before our date. How would they even know that we were seeing each other?”

“You’re sure it’s that night?” My eyes narrowed.

Oriana nodded, pointing at the dress she was wearing. “I haven’t repeated an outfit yet; this was on Thursday night.”

I clenched my teeth and took the photo back. How could they know that she was important to me? If they were spying on me, they wouldn’t have seen her in public with me until our date. That meant they got their information from somewhere else. I had been betrayed.

“You need to go to Scotland. Come on, I’ll take you to the airport.” I stood, throwing my shirt on and buttoning it.

There was a pause. “No.”

I looked up at her. “What?”

“I said no,” Oriana said defiantly. She crossed her arms, sitting on the sofa in her wrinkled sweatpants and shirt. Her hair was like a rat’s nest. Her eyes blazed. “I won’t leave you if something bad is going on.” She grabbed the plane ticket from where I had dropped it on the floor, crushing it in her hand.

“The safest place is away from me, Oriana,” I argued.

“The safest place for me is right beside you.” She stood and wrapped her arms around my waist, nestling her head against my shoulder. “I didn’t want to leave,” She whispered. “I just needed to know if you felt for me the same way I felt about you. It isn’t about the debt anymore, though I will still pay it. It’s grown to so much more. I can’t leave you.”
