My mouth never left his until the last ripple of my orgasm faded from my body. I slowly pulled my mouth away from his at the same time I eased out of his body. I flopped on my back beside him and looked up at the ceiling while I tried to catch my breath. I couldn’t remember a time I felt both so alive yet so exhausted at the same time. I turned my head and found him looking at me. A sexy smile split his face and I felt an answering smile of my own.

“Why did you wait so long?” Miller’s teasing question made me laugh, because if it had been left up to me we would have fucked a month ago.

“I wasn’t sure we were compatible,” I replied cheekily.

“And now?”

“I don’t know, Miller.” I scrunched my face up to show uncertainty. “It could’ve been an anomaly, maybe a fluke.” I shrugged my shoulders casually and bit the inside of my cheek to prevent from laughing at the sour expression on his face.

“What you’re really saying is that you want to go another round, but don’t want to ask me.” He nodded toward the door to my master bathroom. “How big is your shower?” That was all it took for my blood to start rushing back down to my dick again.

“Big enough for us to get clean before we get dirty again.”

“Let’s go then,” Miller said, as he rolled off of the bed. “Bring the condoms and lube.”

I smiled at his sassy remark until my eyes landed on the bounce of the gorgeous ass I had just fucked and couldn’t wait to have again. I had no clue what the hell was happening between us, but I decided not to question it and enjoy whatever it turned out to be.

I SQUIRMED IN
my office chair for the millionth time in hopes of finding a more comfortable position for my tender ass. One would have thought that the ache would have made a person regret their reckless actions the previous night, but not me. Each zing of discomfort reminded me of how good it felt to have Jag buried inside me, how dark his eyes got when he neared his orgasm, and the delicious weight of him pinning my hands to the bed above my head. I had zero regrets, except that my body was eager to experience Jag again, but my brain doubted it would ever happen.

“Exciting night?” I hadn’t even realized my teaching assistant, Gavin Anderson, had entered the room. His voice startled me and I jerked my head up to look at him. He wore a shit-eating grin as he stood there with a cup of Starbucks in each hand. That grin told me he knew exactly why I was squirming in my damn chair.

“I’m not discussing my personal life with you, Gavin.” My gentle rebuke was a reminder to him that I was the professor and he was my student assistant. It was obvious to me the first day I met him that he was interested in being more, but I valued my job far more than a quick fuck with a beautiful young man. I landed my dream job teaching archeology and anthropology at Georgetown. It wasn’t the archeological digs I had dreamed of going on as a hormonal teenager who lusted after Indiana Jones, but I loved my job.

“My apologies, Doctor Brexler.” That ornery grin never left his face, which told me he wasn’t sorry about anything, but he did bring me my favorite latte so I would forgive him. “That will be $5.00 for your coffee since it wouldn’t be
appropriate
for me to buy you coffee.”

“Smart ass,” I mumbled beneath my breath as I fished out my wallet from my desk drawer. I handed him a five-dollar bill along with a stack of papers that needed to be read and graded by the next day. Ah, at long last the grin slid off of his face as he accepted the cash, and the papers, before taking a seat at his desk. It was my turn to smile, but at least I waited until he had his back turned to me.

I did my best to sit still and ignore the aches and tingles from the hard fucking I both gave and received. I needed to review my lecture notes for the classes the next day to see if I wanted to change anything up. I loved having a free planning day in the middle of the week to catch my breath and prepare for the rest of the week. The fall semester had just started and I was still making adjustments to my lesson plans. I could at least celebrate the fact that no one had fallen asleep in my classes up to that point.

Amazingly, my classes were some of the first ones to fill up year after year, which was a great source of pride for me. I tried to be engaging as I educated my students about lost civilizations and cultures. I tried to relate to them that learning about our past prevented us from making the same mistakes in our present and future. Gray said my classes filled up so quickly because guys and gals both wanted to sit and stare at me while I lectured, as they did in the Indiana Jones movies. I found that hard to believe, but was flattered nonetheless that he compared me to my childhood hero.

I missed my best friend something terrible, but I was really happy for him. He and Chase had moved beyond their rough patch over Devon the Dick and in fact, Chase was moving into his house the following weekend. Gray asked me to help and I happily agreed, even though there’d be face sucking and cutesy talk for hours upon hours. I had made a solemn vow to myself to never call a lover baby or babe. Yuck!

My mind chose that exact moment to remember me crying out Jag’s name a time or two. I closed my eyes and a vision of Jag on his knees in his shower floated behind my lids. I said a lot of incoherent things when he worked my cock with his wicked lips, tongue, and even his teeth. It was the slight scrape of his teeth over the sensitive head of my cock that had me coming all over his swollen lips and chin. Jag was like every porn fantasy I ever had and some I hadn’t been creative enough to think up. I matched him tit for tat if the soreness of my scalp from all of his hair pulling was an indicator.

My body began to respond to the memories and a strangled sigh escaped my lips before I could stop it. Gavin looked over his shoulder and gave me a knowing wink, which I answered with a fierce enough scowl to scare most anyone. Gavin shrugged his shoulders casually and turned back to his work, which allowed me to return to Jagworld, which was a far cry more fun than Disneyworld.

My legs were almost too weak to hold me up by the time we finished our shower, but I wasn’t the only one with spaghetti limbs. Jag collapsed unceremoniously on his bed and laid there in a naked sprawl while I found my articles of clothing that had been scattered about the room. By the time I had redressed, he was sound asleep with soft snores escaping through his parted lips. There was something vulnerable about him at that moment and it tugged at my heartstrings. Maybe that was why I brushed aside a lock of hair that had fallen across his brow with my fingers or why I covered him up with his comforter, unwilling to leave him naked and exposed. I regretted leaving him and that had never happened before with anyone else.

Jag was one of those guys that you inherently knew had a lot going on beneath the beautiful façade they showed the world. It didn’t take long for a person to recognize the keen intelligence reflecting at you from his eyes nor could you ignore the sheer sexiness of the man. That was what he wanted the world to see, but I wanted to know the secrets he kept hidden. I couldn’t help but wonder how much Chase knew about him and then I had to wonder why it mattered to me. He was just going to have to remain a puzzle that I wouldn’t solve.

My cellphone vibrated on my desk with an incoming text message. I was happy to see a random text from my errant best friend.

Pizza, beer, and baseball at your place?
It was the first time he reached out to me in weeks, unless it was to ask for help moving Chase the following Saturday. I really wasn’t bitter over it, but it was taking me longer to adjust to his absence than I had thought it would.

You’re on!
I wasn’t about to question why he was suddenly available; I would just be glad to hang out with him.
Time?

I’ll be there at 7:00 p.m. with the pizza and beer.

Damn straight you’re bringing the pizza and beer. Looking forward to it.

Gray was as punctual as ever when he arrived at my house with a pizza box in one hand and a six pack of Corona Extra in the other. Luckily for me, Gray would only drink one or two beers at the most since he’d be driving back home which left the others all for me.

“Long time no see,” I said in greeting as I shut the front door.

“I’ve missed you too,” was his simple, but heartfelt response. “Where’s Indy?” He was referring to my fearless attack pug who happened to be snoring in his dog bed beside the fireplace, totally unaware that we even had a visitor.

“He’ll come running the minute he smells the pizza.” I led the way to my kitchen and pulled out some plates out of the cabinet. “I was surprised to get your text, but I’m glad to spend time with you.”

“Chase had dinner plans with JJ and I didn’t see why I should sit home alone.” Gray piled a few slices of pizza on his plate and grabbed a beer. Ah, things suddenly fell into place. I wasn’t sure what upset me the most – the fact that I would forever be the backup plan for Gray or that Chase was spending time with Jag. My thoughts were as bitter as Gray’s voice, but fuck if I was going to expose my irritation.

“Well, let’s kick back, catch up, and watch some ball.” I tried to keep my voice modulated so not to give away my inner frustrations. I reached up into another cabinet and pulled down an ice bucket I kept for nights like tonight, when we’d be too lazy to want to make a fridge run. I thought I might down my four or five beers in record time that night.

“I didn’t mean that as bad as it sounded, Miller.” Gray put his hand on my shoulder and stopped me from walking over to the built-in ice maker on my refrigerator. “I’m sorry that I sounded like you were nothing more than a substitution. I don’t feel that way at all and I’m very glad to relax at your house, knock a few beers back, and devour some greasy pizza. I’m only sour because of
who
Chase is having dinner with, not that I can’t be separated from his side.”

I nodded in acceptance of his apology and he released me. “I think you need to let this thing with JJ go, Gray,” I told him after I filled the bucket with ice and submerged the beer in between the icy rocks. “Chase is crazy about you and if you keep harping on him about a relationship that ended a long time ago then you’ll push him away.”

“A long time ago,” Gray scoffed and followed me out of the kitchen. “It wasn’t long ago at all; in fact, the last time they had sex was the time that Chase showed up to work on his first day and learned that I was his boss. We weren’t dating then, but it was Chase’s natural reflex to call JJ when he wanted to feel better.”

I plopped down on my couch, a sick feeling had taken root in my stomach and I wasn’t sure why. Was I upset for Gray or myself? Indy sat down by my feet and looked at me with his big brown eyes. He cocked his head to the side because he knew I couldn’t resist his cuteness. I pulled off a pepperoni and blew on it before I fed it to him.

“Spoiled dog,” Gray said around a mouthful of food.

I didn’t want to talk about my amazing dog; I wanted to talk to him about Chase and Jag. “Okay, so they were screwing each other more recently than I thought, but that doesn’t have to mean anything. Plenty of guys hook up when they get horny or emotional, especially with someone they know is safe. Chase had just been hit with a double whammy when it came to you. Who cares if JJ was calling…?”
