Philippine Hardpunch (28 page)

A force like Cody’s Army.

Cody would always believe that change and social reform came about through weeding out the bad apples from the system, not
through violent overthrow.

The Filipino people and their new leaders themselves had demonstrated this in their rise to power.

And in this case, bad apples had indeed been weeded out.

The New People’s Army would fall into a disarray from which it might never recover after the government strikes tonight took
their toll.

The North Koreans’ hold on things, and consequently the top echelon of the KGB, would be equally shook by the fact that their
General Chung and Vincente Valera were dead.

Traitors like General Maceda would be exposed when the questioning got tough.

And the real power broker’s great hope, Arturo Javier, a savage who would be warlord, was no more.

An American family, name of Jeffers, made whole again.

And a fragile, still-young government going through growing pains could hold onto the dream that hard work and faith could
make reality. Cody had seen enough of the Filipino spirit this day to know.

These people had plenty of every quality it took for the good to inherit their piece of savage Earth.

THE REBELS PLANNED A BLOODBATH…

Marcos is out, but his
unscrupulous generals are planning a
takeover of their own. Helping
them are ChiCom trained guerrillas
and cutthroat criminals who
don’t care how many women and
children die in a violent counter –
revolution. The secret plans are in
place; the political time bomb is
ticking. But it’s not too late for Cody’s
men to jump into an explosive situation
with CAR-15’s and raw courage… ready,
willing and able to force a captured
rebel to reveal the enemy’s plot so
American bullets can protect the
freedom of this troubled land.

America’s answer to terrorism is
CODY’S ARMY

Four top-secret warriors. America’s most
powerful anti-terrorist weapon. Ready to
strike anywhere at a moment’s notice.
With direct orders from the President to
get the job done…no matter how.
