Prime Commander (Katieran Prime Series) (11 page)

“Oh.”
That is real intelligent.
The man probably thinks you’re an idiot
.

“You are welcome to share my quarters.” The large Kiljorn offers. He finds the female’s short hair very appealing.

“That won’t be necessary.” SydEL’s angry voice growled from behind them. It made Kat jump slightly. She was going to put a bell around the man’s neck.

“I could just stay with Prima AriELa and Miss Carreli.” She made an attempt to turn the other way, but was stopped by a large warm hand on her arm.

“They retired long ago. You would only disturb them.” Syd tried to hide his eagerness to be alone with the female. She tormented him nightly in his dreams.

The two men stand facing each other like they are about to fight over the matter. Kat is too tired for this macho shit. “Fine, I will stay with Prime Medic SydEL.” She turns and stomps off. Jaxon owes her big time for this.

Jaxon woke with one of her breasts being suckled while the other was being gently, but firmly squeezed. She was instantly wet. “Yes.” She moaned.

Kyd released her breasts and started licking his way down her body. She was different, unlike Katieran females. She was smaller, softer and more delicate. He knelt between her legs admiring the tiny strip of hair covering her mound. He took in a deep whiff of her feminine scent. “Mine.”

He used his hands on her knees to spread her open further for him. He blew warm air on her exposed sex. Kyd licked her seams tasting the sweet nectar.  He couldn’t wait any longer. He plunged his tongue deep inside of her pumping in and out mimicking sex. She tasted so good.

Jaxon grips his hair pulling him to her and rocks her hips to meet his thrusts. “Oh fuck that’s so good!” She screams his name as she climaxes. He owns her, body and soul.

Kyd raises his head smiling smugly at her. “I have skills do I not?”

“Mad skills.” Jaxon agrees breathlessly.

A loud knock on the door interrupts them from doing anything else. “Prime Commander KydEL, we are needed in the Operations Room. Also, Dr. Morris needs to get a change of clothes.” SydEL yells from the other side of the door.

Shit, Jaxon completely forgot about Kat. She reached to grab some clothes.

Kyd answers his brother. “Give me 10 minutes.” He stands and puts on his own clothing.  I will meet you for Midday Meal.” He tells her.

“Okay.” She was nervous. Most of her relationships didn’t last very long. Hell, half the time Jaxon was glad when they were over. Somehow, she knew it would hurt her deeply if things didn’t work out with Kyd.

He is almost to the door when he stops. He comes back to pull her into his arms. He kisses her with a promise of more to come. When he pulls away from her, she has a bewildered look on her face. “Try to stay out of trouble while I’m gone.” He turns back towards the door.

Shaking out of her temporary paralysis, she yells at his back. “It’s not my fault. Trouble finds me wherever I go.”

“I am so tired of being treated like some kind of fragile flower that if touched, the petals will fall off.” AriELa complains as the four women share the Morning Meal. They are being watched by all the Kiljorn men around them.

“I can teach you a few moves.” Jaxon offers as she crams blue-colored food in her mouth. It tastes like bread. A distraction will be good to help keep her occupied until she meets with Kyd later. She cannot stop thinking of him.

AriELa is excited. “You will train me to be a warrior like you?”

Uh oh, what did she volunteer herself for? “I was just thinking of a few defensive moves that will help you escape a possible dangerous situation. No offensive moves or weaponry.” Jaxon said.

Both Kat and Miss Carreli were willing to participate as well. Jaxon started to warm up to Miss Carreli, Lindsey. From what both Kyd and Lindsey told her, there was nothing romantic going on between them. It was a relief.

Jaxon asked one of the Kiljorn lieutenants where they could spar. The Kiljorn did not understand at first, but then, he became very interested. He told her that the transport ship had a training facility that they could use.

“I don’t like it.” Kyd tells his brother.

“I need to take my team to several of the planets in the Kiljorn Solar System. We need samples to compare with Katiera.” Kyd explains for the third time.

“How am I supposed to safeguard you, your team, and AriELa if you are all on the different planets?” Kyd paces back and forth in the Operations Room.

“Security Liaison TarAK can guard AriELa. Lieutenant Silas will come with my team to the planets we need samples from.” Syd runs his hand through his long, dark brown hair.

“And what will I be doing?” Kyd stops pacing as he questions his brother.

“You and Miss Carreli will be going over the details of the alliance with Prime Leader KadEN.” He explains.

“You have it all figured out. Except, there is one person you have forgotten about.” Kyd tells him.

“I figured you would keep Captain Malone busy. Perhaps she could guard you.” Syd smiled deviously while wiggling his eyebrows up and down. Both men burst out laughing.

“She is going to love doing that.” Kyd replies smiling.

The training center was an area just a little bit smaller than the gym back on Earth. They had something like a treadmill and ropes for climbing. There were hooks spaced out along the wall for climbing. No wonder the men had such large biceps.

Jaxon had shown each of the women how to get out of various types of holds and where to place kicks. AriELa was doing quite well, until TarAK tracked them down. The man distracted AriELa and she missed blocking a punch that Jaxon was throwing her way. AriELa fell backwards onto her butt.

“I am so sorry.” Jaxon normally doesn’t apologize when sparring, but AriELa is a civilian. Not to mention a freaking Prima.

“AriELa!” TarAK stalked their way.

“I’m fine. I just have to concentrate harder.” She gets back up on her feet. “Can I try that again?”

Jaxon admired her determination.

“Absolutely NOT!” TarAK declares while he runs his hands lightly over AriELa’s body checking for injuries.

AriELa swats his hands away. “I’m fine. And you are not the boss of me. If I want to keep training, I will.” She tells him as she turns her back on him and faces Jaxon. “Can we do that over again?”

TarAK glares at Jaxon and then AriELa. Jaxon doesn’t want to get in the middle of whatever is going on between them. “I think we are all a little tired. How about we pick this back up again tomorrow?’

“Okay, I can wait till tomorrow. I really need this.” AriELa waited until Jaxon nods her head in agreement before she walks off to her quarters with a pissed off TarAK trailing behind her.

“I want to get something to eat.” Kat says.

“Me too.” Lindsey agreed. “I worked up quite an appetite.”

Jaxon is about to leave with the other women when she is interrupted with a communications alert. Beep … beep … beep.  She hits her Comm link. “Captain Malone here.  I am on my way.”

She turns back to the other two women, “Sorry guys, I am needed at the docking bay. I’ll catch ya’ll later.” She heads off in the direction she remembers from the day before.

She passes Lieutenant SilAS in the corridor on her way to the docking bay. “Hi Lieutenant.” She stops to greet him.

He stopped and took a deep whiff of air surrounding her. He frowned and took a step back away from her. “When did you mate with the Commander?” He asked.

Shit! He smelled that she was with Kyd? And what did he mean by mate?  “Uh … What do you mean?” She shuffled her feet. She felt like kid caught with her hand in the candy jar.

SilAS sighs. “His scent mark is on you. You are mated.”

“What?” Being mated was the Katieran version of being married, and they don’t believe in divorce.

SilAS told her he needed to go and meet with Prime Medic SydEL. Jaxon continued on to the docking bay in a state of shock. Did she get married without knowing it? Can a person do that without being completely wasted first? She was going to have to have a serious discussion with Kyd about this.

Chapter 9

Kyd is waiting for her just outside of the docking bay. He notices that her face is slightly pink and she is breathing heavily. “Are you okay?” He asks with concern.

Jaxon nodded her head. The moment she caught sight of the man, her heart rate sped up, she got butterflies in her stomach, and she felt herself start to blush. “Commander, I was told to report to you.” At least her voice didn’t crack.

“Captain, we will be taking the shuttle out to perform routine security checks.” He says as he leads the way into the docking bay.

Was it was just the two of them? Her question was answered when they boarded the small shuttle. She shrugged her shoulders.

“Take the pilot position Captain.” Kyd sits down in the co-pilot’s seat.

“Really?”  Jaxon couldn’t believe it. He was going to let her pilot the shuttle.  Jaxon sat down in the pilot’s seat and started to flip her control switches. She turned to him awaiting coordinates. He gave them to her and she fired the shuttle engines up.

Jaxon released the connectors used to secure the shuttles to the docking bay so that the shuttles don’t move when the bay door is opened. With the connectors disconnected, the shuttle started to lift up. The bay doors opened and Jaxon directed the shuttle out of the transport ship and into space.

With the viewing screens on, Jaxon looked out at  the stars and the nearby planets in the Kiljorn solar system. The Katierans and Kiljorns shared the same galaxy but they had separate solar systems. Where the Katierans had two suns, the Kiljorns had only 1 sun, similar to Earth’s solar system. There were 8 planets in the Kiljorn solar system but only 5 of those planets were inhabitable. Each planet had two Lunas.

“Where are we going Commander?” Jaxon asked Kyd.

“Do a path around the planet Kiljor and then head for the second planet from the Sun.” Kyd wants to make sure there are no surprises hiding in wait for them. He is impressed with Jaxon’s flying skills.

“You are a natural at flying.” He comments.

Jaxon smiled back at him with a joyful gleam in her eyes. “Cassie’s grandpa taught me everything I know.”

“You seem to be very close to Cassie and her family. What about your own?” Kyd asks.

“My birth parents gave me up when I was two years old. I never knew them. I grew up in the foster care system.  I was shuffled around every 2-3 years until I was 10 years old. The last foster care home that was I sent to, I stayed with until I graduated from high school and joined the military.” Jaxon told him. She completed the path around Kiljor and now was heading for the second planet from the Sun.

“I was given a short description of your human foster care system. Did these people not care for you?” Kyd was upset that Jaxon was treated badly as a young.

“I was always provided for. I had second hand clothes, food, and a roof over my head. But none of the foster homes I was sent  to were family to me. Cassie became my only family the day she moved in next door to me.” Jaxon didn’t like to dwell on her childhood. It wasn’t the happiest, but it could have been a lot worse. In fact, she knew a lot of other foster kids who were abused.

“Set the shuttle in a hovering position over this planet.” Kyd directs her as he checks the viewing screen. He unhooks his seat straps and turns to face her.

“I don’t understand your people’s ways. Katierans take the care of our females and young very seriously. On Katiera, if a young loses his or her parents, the next of kin or family friend takes them into their home and cares for them. The young becomes a part of their family and is treated no differently than a young born into the family.”  Kyd says. He wishes Jaxon could have had someone to care for her that way.

Jaxon unhooks her straps and turns to gaze into Kyd’s beautiful almost black eyes. “I can see that in the way Prime Leader RendEL accepts Cassie’s girls.”

“It is not solely because they are Cassie’s young ones. He would take them under his care without having known their mother. He loves those girls, as do I and my whole family. There are many Katierans who would care for a young in need.” Kyd tells her.

“Too bad you aren’t transporting orphans or foster kids. There are so many on Earth that are without caring families.”

“It is a shame. Your planet has young without families. My planet has families without young. Perhaps I will speak to RendEL and the High Council about this issue.” He ponders out loud.

“Yeah, Earth’s foster care system is atrocious.  It’s a miracle I turned out okay.” Jaxon says standing up in the small shuttle to stretch her legs.

“You are a miracle in many ways.” Kyd agrees pulling her onto his lap. He kisses her with tenderness.

She remembered something that SilAS had said to her, she pulled back and questioned him. “SilAS said that you mated me. That you scent marked me. Was he right?”

Oh Kitana.  He felt shame for not having more control over himself. He should have asked for her permission first. “I did scent mark you. We exchanged our sexual fluids. We usually hold back unless we plan to mate the person.”
