Ride the Wicked Woodsman (A Night Falls Alpha Werebear Shapeshifter Romance) (17 page)

He handed me the lightweight sleeping bag in exchange for the heavier change of clothes and then we headed into the trees behind the cabin, no trail to tell me where we were going.

"Prepared to freeze your ass off?" he asked after we'd been walking through the trees for about fifteen minutes.

"If it means I don't have to go back to the cabin while there are two dozen shifters cleaning up body parts, absolutely."

His grim laugh lingered behind us as we entered a small clearing within the trees. I could tell at first glance that the clearing hadn't developed naturally. Trees had been felled with a blade, their roots pulled up. Someone had dug a fire pit and ringed it with fist sized stones. One massive stump had been left in the ground next to the fire pit as seating or perhaps as a table. A plastic tarp covered what looked like a log pile.

This was clearly something Taron had made for himself.

Placing the bag of clothes on the stump, he gestured for me to put the sleeping bag down.

"Sit," he ordered. "I'm going to get a fire going."

I obeyed, my head canted in the direction opposite of which we had entered the clearing.

"Is there a creek?" I could just barely hear the water, but the sound and scent confused me. It sounded far away or very narrow and shallow, but smelled larger and nearby.

"Not exactly," Taron answered evasively.

Finished building the fire, he toed his boots off and ripped off the tattered clothes that still hung from his body. He padded over to where I stood staring at him in open-mouthed appreciation. As if he knew just how hard my heart was pounding inside my chest, he gently lifted my top over my head.

"This isn't freeze your ass off cold," I said as he worked the buttons on my jeans. "Especially with a fire."

"It's chilly though," he smirked, his hand taking a break in undressing me to slowly tug at one of my pointy nipples.

A shiver rolled through me, bent my spine in strange directions until I had to lean into Taron for warmth and support.

He pushed my pants and underwear over my hips and down the curve of my ass. I kicked out of them and pressed my naked body against his.

"Not yet," he rasped, stepping away to pick up the flashlight and the rolled bundle.

Taking my hand, he led me to the edge of the clearing.

"Pine needles," he growled, handing me the flashlight and package.

When I had them secured, he scooped me up in his arms and continued walking. Less than fifty feet from the clearing, the ground got too rocky for the trees or underbrush to grow. Another twenty feet and I saw our destination -- a dark pool of water.

Gingerly, he set me on the ground and grabbed the package from me.

"When we were at the falls yesterday..." Pausing, he pulled something from the package and I heard the familiar snap of a chem light. "I was wishing so damn hard that I'd showed them to you before then. But I hadn't even brought you back here."

"Why?"

He didn't answer right away, delaying as he snapped a few more lights in different hues and placed them in the pool.

"I thought about bringing you here several times," he admitted, stepping into the water, his body bracing against the colder temperature. Waist high, he turned and met my gaze in the low light of night. "But part of me kept thinking you were never going to stay, that I'd never be able to come back here again because I didn't have you to bring with me. It was the same with the falls."

Slowly I stepped into the water, my shoulders jumping a little higher up my body with each inch of me submerged in the cold, spring-fed water.

"Here," he said, hands wrapping around my hips and the heat of his alpha's energy spreading through me.

I laughed, nervous and more excited by him than I had ever been. "You're like a traveling heating pad."

"You don't know the half of it," he answered, pulling me against him and starting a slow line of kisses that traveled up my neck to my mouth.

I wrapped my legs around his waist. He walked us deeper into the pool, the waterline up to my nipples. His hands supported my back while his mouth did crazy things just below the line of my jaw, nibbling, grazing, biting where the pulse beat hardest.

The feral nature of his kissing had me rubbing and wiggling against him, my eyes closed to the beauty of the pool with the lights glowing at the bottom.

He was my drug, my addiction, and I was delirious with the idea of a fresh fix after more than two days of denial.

"I want to be in you," he rasped, breath hot against my skin while the cold water rippled around us from all my squirming.

Moaning, I contorted my spine, ass jutting out to realign my pussy over the hard, thick shaft. I slid onto him, both of us jerking with need. He bit me again, I bit him in return, my nails raking the back of his shoulders to leave tracks that disappeared in the space of a heartbeat.

Our mouths smashed together, tongues curling and licking. I locked my ankles against his muscular ass to leverage long thrusts up and down his cock. Fuck, he was so big, blood racing to fill the organ and pounding out its need inside me.

I squeezed, lifted, shook with the ache of wanting him to come in me. A shudder rolled through him, his cock feeling like it had ballooned even bigger because he was stretching me so tight, making me hypersensitive and out of my mind with a raw lust.

"Come in me now," I begged, knowing he was holding back. I bit at his lips, drew blood then sucked and licked it away. "I need you to fill my pussy with it right now."

"Shhh, love, there's time."

"No," I growled, my inner muscles twisting around the shaft and fat head, rolling up and down like a milking machine, gripping and squeezing until he was gasping for air. "I need it right now."

Crushing me against him, Taron tossed his head back and roared as he spurted inside me with long, jetting pulses, the liquid warming my pussy. I milked it higher, deeper into me, my howls joining his roars.

Our voices turned hoarse and I collapsed against him, my muscles drained and my thoughts fuzzy. Taron eased out, maneuvered my limp body so that I was cradled in his arms and carried me out of the pool and back to the clearing. Still holding me, he sat on the stump, the fire warming our bodies as they dried.

Sleepy and sated I looked up at the man who had saved me in so many ways. I caressed his stubbled cheek, then softly thumbed his full, lower lip. The temptation of touching his mouth proved too much and I strained upward, wrapped my hands around the back of his neck and kissed him.

"I love you," I said.

His throat bobbed, his strong arms cinching me tight. He buried his face against my neck, strange noises coming from him as he pawed at my hair with one hand.

"It's okay," I said, the threat of tears clogging my voice. "You don't have to say it. I love you anyway."

A rough laugh found its way out of him. Holding my head, he kissed my cheek, then claimed my mouth for a few, sensuous seconds before teasing me with a light growl.

"Always assuming, she-wolf."

Opening a narrow distance between us, Taron gazed into my eyes. "I love you, Onyx -- my mate, my woman. Trust in me that nothing will change that."

"I do," I answered as he lifted me again and placed me inside the sleeping bag.

Crawling in with me, he zipped it up before turning his attention to my body. His hands rubbed softly up and down me, along my thighs, over my breasts, ever so gently across my cheeks and eyelids.

He rolled on top of me, his weight on his elbows as he wiggled his hips to part my thighs. I opened to him, his slick honeycomb, and he slid in, our bodies settling into a slow, luxurious rhythm we would dance to over and over again before the moon finished her journey across the sky and we finally fell asleep.

When we woke the next morning, a new day had dawned in Night Falls.
