“What’s so funny?” I asked.
“Nothing. I was just thinking you’re the best agent I’ve ever had,” he said.
“You mean the Fraulein didn’t provide services like these?” I asked playfully referring to Victoria Roland, the head of the talent agency that used to employ me and represent Battery.
“Oh, she fucked me alright, but not in a good way. She even made me bring the lube,” James replied. I giggled uncontrollably at the picture that conjured up in my head. It was completely preposterous. James joined me. I wasn’t the most productive agent he’d ever had, that was for sure, but I provided a full range of services and we had fun. Oh, did we have fun!

Two days later, I was at Battery’s record label for a meeting. I sat in the reception area and was getting impatient. The meeting was scheduled for ten o’clock that morning but it was almost eleven. Finally, I went to the receptionist and demanded to know what going on.
“I’ll call Mr. Schneider,” she replied with disdain. She dialed and after a short conversation, she reported, “Mr. Schneider is attending to an emergency situation. He will call you to reschedule.” Needless to say, I was more than a little pissed. I’d been waiting for nearly an hour and they couldn’t have told me that sooner? I forced a smile, walked out of the office and headed back to Malibu. I got over my anger, it was always short lived, before I’d gotten on the freeway but the situation was odd. I suppose stuff happened, but why would they leave me waiting like that? By the time I got back to James’ home, however, I’d almost completely forgotten about it. It was probably just a simple misunderstanding.
I planned to take a dip in the pool, nude as per James’ rule, and then see if James wanted to go out for dinner. James was gone when I arrived at his house, as I expected. I went inside to James’ bedroom, peeled off my skirt, blouse, bra and panties, grabbed a towel and headed out towards the pool overlooking the ocean. I was almost out the back door when I heard singing and it wasn’t James. I pulled the towel around my nude body and went looking for the source. Maybe James had left his stereo on. As I walked by the kitchen, a beautiful blonde woman walked out and we both screamed.
“Who are you?” I asked as I backed away. She didn’t seem threatening. In fact, she acted as if she owned the place, holding a glass of white wine.
“Oh my God! You scared the hell out of me. You must be Simone,” the woman said. I couldn’t help but notice her body. Her incredibly large, and probably phony, breasts spilled out of her tight top and her snug shorts barely covered her round ass.
“I am. Who are you?” I asked, more curious than wary.
“James tried to call you, but it went to message. I’m Sylvia Connors. I’m James’ ex-wife,” she told me and I almost dropped my towel.
“What are you doing here?” I wondered aloud.
“I’m in SoCal for a few weeks and James graciously offered to let me stay here for a while. You’re as pretty as James said, maybe a little thin, but pretty,” Sylvia said and I didn’t miss the thinly disguised insult.
“Nice to meet you, Sylvia.
So when do you leave?” I asked, my bitchy side rearing its head.
“Not for a while.
You going swimming? Can I join you?” Sylvia inquired. Great. I was hoping to swim alone, maybe with James if he got home soon, not with his buxom ex-wife.
“It’s a free country,” was all I said and walked away. What the heck was she doing here? Was James crazy? I know he considered her a friend and their divorce was amicable, but letting her stay
here? I guess it was his house and he could do what he wanted. I was the one that refused to move in so I suppose I didn’t really have a say on the issue. I wasn’t worried about James. We had discussed his marriage and James was over Sylvia. However, I wondered if I should be worried about Sylvia.
I let my towel fall away, tossed it on one of the lounges and then dove into the deep end of the pool. When I surfaced, Sylvia was exiting the house, nude and wearing a pair of sexy pumps that she wasn’t wearing inside. She sauntered up to the pool, kicked off the shoes she must have put on just moments before and sat on the edge of the pool. I had to admit, she was beautiful, in a porn star, stripper kind of way. Sylvia was tanned and perfectly proportioned. Her huge breasts were just as perky out of her tight top as they were inside of it and each nipple
was pierced with a silver ring.
Sylvia let both legs dangle in the pool and spread them wide enough for me to see everything. She had another ring through her clit and a small tattoo over her bare mound that I couldn’t quite make out in addition to a few other assorted tattoos here and there. She noticed me looking at her, as if I had a choice since she plopped down right in front of me, and said, “It says James.”
“Huh?” I asked not getting what she was referring too.
“The tattoo on my pussy you’re staring at. It’s James’ name. I got it when we were married. I got these too,”
Sylvia said cupping her round breasts. “You like pussy?” Sylvia asked suddenly. I snapped my head up and stared at her.
“What?” I asked assuming I misunderstood her.
“Do you like pussy? I was just wondering since you keep staring at me. I thought maybe you might be bisexual. You’re kind of cute. If you want, you can go ahead and eat my pussy,” Sylvia said. I was quickly beginning to hate this woman.
“Um, no!
I’m not into girls. Thanks anyway,” I replied and began swimming back and forth across the pool as if I’d come out to exercise instead of relax.
“I used to eat pussy for James. When he would get drunk, we’d do things that I still can hardly believe. I’m sure you’re enough for him all by yourself. He’s probably matured and won’t ask you to have threesomes or sex with other women,” Sylvia told me. What the heck was her problem? I don’t know if what she was saying was true and honestly, I didn’t care. That’s what I told myself anyway.
“That’s nice for you. I’m sure James respected you deeply for it,” I replied, my inner bitch fully engaged. Sylvia just laughed as if she enjoyed the game. I didn’t, however. Thankfully, James walked out, clothed, and prevented things from devolving into a serious catfight.
“So, I see you’ve met Sylvia. I called and tried to warn you. Are you two getting along?” James asked as he sat on a pool lounger.
“We are. Simone and I were just comparing notes. Nothing you need concern yourself about,” the bitch told my boyfriend.
“Sorry, little girl. She just showed up and I couldn’t let my ex sleep in a hotel. I hope you don’t mind,” James said completely oblivious to the dark cloud looming over the pool.
“No, it’s your house. If you want your ex-wife to stay here, that’s your business. It’s not like I don’t have my own place I can go to,” I said smiling as if nothing were wrong. James smiled back and I added, “Speaking of going home, I promised Josie we’d go out this weekend, just the two of us. I should probably go.” It was only Thursday and I hadn’t planned on going home until Friday, but I didn’t want to stay with Sylvia around. James frowned as I stepped from the pool, showing off my thin but athletic body, my small but natural breasts and my small, tight behind that wasn’t starting to sag before wrapping my towel around my body.
“Little girl, you don’t have to go,” James said following me inside. I heard Sylvia laugh as he closed the door.
I turned to confront James. I couldn’t believe he didn’t see the effect his ex-wife was having already. “What are you doing, James?”
“What do you mean?” he asked.
“Really? You invite your ex-wife to hang out for a few weeks, the woman you used to have sex with, the woman you used to love, and you don’t know what’s wrong?” I asked heatedly.
“Hey, she’s just a friend now. Don’t you trust me?” James asked.
“I trust you. It’s her I don’t trust. She’s done nothing but remind me you two used to be married since I found her. She fucking asked me if I wanted to eat her pussy!” I told James, seething now. James laughed.
“That’s just Sylvia. She’s like that but she doesn’t mean anything by it. She’s harmless and besides, I’m over her. I promise you, little girl,” James explained. I sighed and looked up at James. As usual, my temper
didn’t last long and now I felt bad for the way I’d acted.
“I’m sorry. She just got under my skin. I don’t trust her but if you say it’s fine, then it’s fine. I do trust you, James,” I told him.
“I’ll talk to her and have her tone it down. I don’t want you to leave though,” he said. I wondered why he wasn’t kicking Sylvia out of his house so I didn’t feel like I had to leave. I calmed myself again.
“I did promise Josie we’d go out. It’ll give you a chance to talk with Sylvia,” I said. James smiled, though it looked
forced, and hugged me.
“How about I take you and Josie out Saturday.
The whole band. She’d like that, wouldn’t she?” James offered. Josie would kill her own mother to spend a night with Battery.
“I can already hear her screaming and see her jumping around the apartment like a crazy woman. Thank you, that would be fun,” I told James.
“And no Sylvia either. I swear,” he added.
“Even better!”
I said and he laughed.
“I’d never do anything to hurt you, you know that. You’re the girl in that song, not her,” James said referring to “Destroyed.” It was the song that introduced me to Battery’s music. It was the tale of a man who had lost his love and longed for her. He killed himself to join her in death. It was a metaphor for James’ own journey out of alcoholism, his search for deeper meaning and a special woman to share his life
with. As it turns out, I was that woman, though he didn’t know it when he wrote it years ago. I still remembered the line I’d found on a cocktail napkin framed on the wall of James’ office.
She awaits in my mind, a vision, a goddess, a haze.
I am no good, not worthy of her but nevertheless I crave.
She looks upon me and lays me bare before her fiery gaze.
I am powerless before her, a broken, willing slave.
“I know. I’ll always be your little girl, James,” I replied as James pulled the towel from my body and held me close. Sylvia approached the French doors and paused. I saw the look on her face as she witnessed James, her ex-husband, embracing me. Her eyes held a mix of jealousy and anger, but seeing it didn’t make me feel better. I trusted James but I knew that Sylvia was going to cause problems. I had to be careful and make sure I didn’t alienate James and push him into her arms, and I was sure that’s what she wanted. If only I could make James see that before it was too late.

I arrived home to find Josie already home from work. I unloaded on her and she went off. Bitch this, whore that, she ranted about Sylvia until I told her about James’ plan for the weekend. “You’re fucking kidding?” Josie asked.
“No, the whole band too,” I explained. Josie began jumping up and down and screaming, just like I expected.
“Oh my God!
This is epic. I get to party with Battery. We need to go shopping and to the salon and damn, I wish I had a few weeks to lose five pounds. Holy shit, girl. You are awesome!” Josie exclaimed, almost hyperventilating. I waited patiently as she went on. I didn’t get the whole celebrity worship thing, which was one reason James fell for me in the first place. I grew up in Idaho far removed from the glitz and glam of Southern California. Josie on the other hand, grew up here in Los Angeles. She worked for a movie studio. She loved celebrities but never had much opportunity really to hang out with any.
Now here I was, dating a rock star and until now, Josie had only met James a handful of times and
then only for a few minutes. I know Josie was envious but now she had her chance to party with celebrities. I’m glad she was so happy. “You should call into work tomorrow and we’ll go shopping,” I told her.
“Done!”
Josie shouted and then hugged me. “I love you, girl,” she said and I could have sworn she was about to cry.

“I think I wore my credit card out, Josie,” I told her as we waited for our salads at the chain restaurant inside the mall.
“No shit. But damn it was fun, wasn’t it?” Josie replied.
“Honestly…yes! I like being a rock star’s girlfriend. It gives me an excuse to wear all that stuff I always secretly wanted to. I’m learning to love leather and fishnet,” I told her. It was true. I still adored my business wear, and so did James, and at home I lived in jogging suits, tanks, capri pants and shorts, but I was having fun dressing the part of James sexy rock and roll bitch. I giggled at the thought despite myself. Josie joined in but I’m not sure she understood what had made me laugh.
“You’re going to look so hot it that stuff,” Josie told me.
“What about that so-called dress you bought? There’s almost no reason to even wear one,” I teased.
“Don’t tempt me,” Josie said and I almost believed she might go out naked. Josie, unlike me, was round and curvy. She wasn’t big, but voluptuous instead and it wasn’t all
fake like Sylvia. Josie was Latina and so she had a dark complexion and jet-black hair that she wore long with big, bouncy curls. I had a little Spanish in me, hence the last name Navarro, but next to Josie, my tanned skin seemed light. Her features were soft and Josie had a big, bright smile. She was a real beauty.
