Romance: The Wedding Planner & The Endowed Cowboy Husband (7 page)

“I missed you so much.”

“Get off of me!”

Hannah shoved him back and glared at him.

“Please Hannah, let me explain.”

‘No.  There is nothing to explain.  You help people hunt us, and kill us.  You are no better than the hunters themselves.”

Hannah stormed off after that, she didn’t want to waste any more breath on Tyson, and she wanted to leave with her dignity and not cry in front of him.  He didn’t deserve to see how pained she was, he didn’t deserve to know that she was in love with him.

Tyson watched as Hannah stormed away, his nose lifting up into the air as he caught the scent of something familiar, looking at Hannah with a shocked expression on his face, he knew even if she hated him, there was no way he was letting her leave his side again.  Tyson was going to do whatever it took to convince Hannah to stay with him, even if it meant risking everything.

Chapter Seven

RING!

RING!

RING!

Hannah rolled over in her bed and picked up her cell phone, it was Karen calling her.

“Hello?”

“Oh my god, Hannah! You have to turn on the news, right now.”

“Why?”

“Just do it.”

Hannah put the phone down but didn’t hang up, lifting up her remote and turning on her tv, flipping to the news channel.  The latest news was a group of men were found torn to shreds, their remains left around a large truck that was filled with animal pelts.  Hannah gasped and held the phone back up to her ear.

“Are you watching it Han?”

“Is that true?”

“Yeah, they’ve been sorting through body parts all night.”

“Wow.  Do we know if those were…?”

Hannah didn’t want to say it out loud, she knew the answer.  Those were shifter pelts, and those were the hunters that Tyson was working with.  She wondered what type of animal finally put the hunters in their place.

“All of them, all of those pelts found were shifters.  They are too big for normal animals.  They were shifter hunters, Han.  Look at all of them; we might have known some of them.”

Hannah could hear Karen weeping on the other end of the phone; Hannah was starting to cry as well, there were over 5 dozen pelts in their truck when their bodies were found.  Hannah felt guilty, she should of done something, should have told other shifters about Tyson, but her love for him stopped her from doing anything that could lead to him getting hurt.  She felt stupid and was smacking her head, repeating the word stupid over and over inside her head.

“Han, you ok?”

“Yeah, it’s just so sad.  I’m glad that you and the girls are safe.”

“Me too, look I have to go, but call me if you need me.”

“Ok, same to you.”

Hannah and Karen hung up the phone just as there was a knock on Hannah’s front door.  Hannah crawled out of bed and cautiously walked towards it, peeking through the peep hole to see who it was, but all she saw was short brown hair, when she opened the door slightly she realized it was Tyson.

“Please, Hannah.  Let me in.”

“Go away, Tyson.”

“No.  I will not ever leave you alone, not ever again Hannah.  Let me in.”

“Go Away.”

Hannah went to slam the door in Tyson’s face, but his fist reached up and pounded against the wood.

“Hannah, 5 minutes, give me 5 minutes.”

“Fine.  ONLY FIVE!”

Hannah unhooked the door lock and pulled the door open, Tyson stumbled into her hallway, his shirt soaked with rain and blood.  Hannah was quick to react, moving her hands onto his chest, looking for any wounds or bruises, wanting to aid her alpha.

“It’s not my blood, but it gives me hope that you’re concerned about me enough to touch me.”

Hannah smacked his chest and moved away from him, the news repeating itself for the second time that evening about the dead hunters, Hannah looking at Tyson as his facial expression changes when the news announced that it was a brutal animal attack, possibly by a rabid bear.  Hannah covered her mouth and gasped when she put two and two together, stepping even further back from Tyson.

“You, you killed them.”

“Yes, I killed them all.”

“Why?”

“Because they were monsters, Hannah. Forcing me to turn on my own kind.  I did what I should have done a long time ago.”

“Why did you do it in the first place?”

Hannah spat at his feet, still disgusted by how easily he could hand shifters over to dirty hunters.

“I have my reasons, Hannah.  One day I will share them with you.”

“No share them with me now.”

“I can’t, not yet.  I still have to finish it.”

“Finish what?”

“Everything, there are still hunters in Miami, I only killed the pelting party, they still have a cell of locators.”

“Are you going to kill them too?”

“Didn’t you listen to the news?  A rabid bear killed them.”

Tyson stepped closer to Hannah, backing her up against a wall, his face hovering over hers.  He leaned down and kissed her gently, not making a move to touch her anywhere but the lips, growling when her taste invaded his mouth.

“Hannah, we are not done.  Tell me we are not done.”

“But what you did, I can’t forgive that.”

“Let me finish it, and then I will tell you why.  Please, at least promise me the chance to tell you everything.”

Hannah nodded, shying her face away from him so Tyson couldn’t kiss her again.  He growled in frustration but sensed he was scaring her more than anything.  Tyson back up away from her and reached for the door, opening it as he gazed at her, waiting for her to raise her eyes before leaving.  When she raised her eyes and locked them with Tyson her skin sizzled, it burned more than usual, her whole body telling her to follow her alpha.

“We have much to talk about when the sun is out.”

“Tomorrow then.”

“Tomorrow.”

Tyson left, closing the door behind himself, listening as Hannah rushed to lock it behind him, her back pressed hard against the door as she tried to calm her anxiety down.  Tyson didn’t wait for her panic to subside, he ran off into the night to finish what he started.

Chapter Eight

Hannah was pacing back and forth across her living room, she was watching the clock like a crazy woman, biting her nails down to numbs.  Tyson had said they would talk in the morning, but never mentioned a time, Hannah had no idea when to expect him or what to expect when he showed up.  She thought he might show up covered in more blood, but it was daylight out, he couldn’t just walk around in blood stained clothes without getting noticed and having the authorities called on him.

Hannah jumped when she finally hear a knock at her door, finally she could stop pacing, but when she opened the door instead of finding Tyson, all four of her friends burst into her house and headed straight for the living room.  Hannah followed close on their heels and watched as all of them stood in front of the couch and stared at her, Trish was even glaring.

“Hey girls.”

“Don’t hey us.  Where is he?”

“Where is who?”

“The Man meat you call Tyson.”

“Why would he be here?”

“Because he is crazy obsessed with you, and now apparently rabid.”

“What?”

“The news, the hunters were attacked by a rabid bear.  More likely a bear shifter.  Since Tyson has been completely insane since you left, we think it’s him.”

“I haven’t seen him.”

“Don’t lie to me, I can tell when you are lying.”

“Fine, I don’t know where he is now.”

“But he’ll be here eventually, right?”

“I think so, he said he would be.”

“So you’re talking to him again?”

“Maybe, Kind of, I don’t know.”

“Well, we are going to sit here and wait till you tell us the whole story.”

All four of the girls sat down on Hannah’s couch and crossed one leg over the other, folding their hands in their laps while waiting for Hannah to spill the situation.  Hannah went back to her pacing, looking back and forth between her friends and the front door, worried that Tyson would show up and freak out that they were there, so to get rid of them she decided to spill everything.

“Please, don’t say anything tell I’m finished.”

Her friends nodded in agreement, waiting for her story.  Hannah started in the beginning with finding the email and freaking out when Tyson made his confession, she carried on to talk about how she was in love with him and couldn’t bring herself to tell anyone what he was doing.  She talked about how she blamed herself for all of those dead shifters, and how she shouldn’t have left, and what she would have done if it was one of them that was in the back of that truck.

Hannah started crying near the end of her story, telling them how Tyson showed up covered in blood, and talked about them forcing him to do it, and how he was going to be coming in to explain himself sometime this morning.  Hannah’s friends fell back against the couch, uncrossing their legs and staring at her in disbelief, barely able to follow the rest of the story as her sobs muffled half of her words.

“So, he helped killed shifters, and then killed the hunters that he was helping?”

Hannah nodded at Scarlet, wiping the tears away from her eyes.

“And he’s coming back here, to explain why?”

Hannah nodded again, this time in the direction of Karen who asked the question.

“What is there to explain?  That man is bad news and you should call the authorities or something.”

“And tell them what Trish?  My boyfriend is the rabid bear that killed those men?”

“I don’t know, but don’t let him back into your house.”

“I promised him that I would let him explain, so I’m going to let him explain.”

“And if it isn’t a good enough explanation?”

“Then I’ll turn him into the shifter council.”

“Are those old men even still around?”

“Yes, and they will know what to do with him.”

The girls all looked at Hannah like she was the one losing her mind now, the council wasn’t often brought into any shifter business, but Hannah didn’t know what else to do.  Tyson was responsible for who knew how many shifter deaths, and he had to pay for his crime, or at least give a very good reason as to why he did it.

When all the girls were settled back down and stopped harassing Hannah with questions, there was a knock at the door.  Hannah went to her front door and opened it, in walked a very dreary looking Tyson and a small girl who seemed to be about six years old.

“Good Morning, Hannah.”

“Morning, Tyson.”

“Leah, this is Hannah.  Hannah, this is Leah.”

The little girl smiled up at Hannah and preformed a small curtsey.

“Hi Hannah.”

“Nice to meet you, Leah.”

Hannah looked at Tyson confused, Tyson just smiled and motioned towards the living room with his head.  Hannah looked towards the living room and Tyson, biting down on her lower lip, not wanting her friends to attack him in front of the little girl.

“Umm…The girls stopped by…”

“Oh, and you told them everything, didn’t you?”

“I had to, I could never lie to Karen.”

“Come on in Tyson.  We were all expecting you.”

Hannah looked sheepishly towards the living room, her friends all calling him out together like that made her feel awkward.  She just wanted to explanation and to move on, her friends weren’t making that very easy.

“It’s fine, Hannah.  They can hear this too, I don’t mind.”

Hannah just nodded and gave Tyson an apologetic look, the three of them heading into the living room to come face to face with her four friends.  The only one not glaring was Trish, and she was too busy smiling and gesturing towards Leah to care what was going on anymore.

“Daddy, can I go sit with the big girls on the couch?”

All five of the girls looked at Tyson and gasped, saying in union.

“Daddy!”

Chapter Nine

Tyson looked at all the women staring at him, gently holding on to Leah’s shoulders, leaning down and whispering into her ear that she had to go sit down on the chair instead.  Leah just nodded and skipped over the chair, climbing up and taking off her small back-pack.  She pulled out a small book and began to read it, now ignoring the adults as Tyson tried to explain everything that happened.

“Yes, that’s my daughter.”

“You never, ever mentioned a daughter.”

“I couldn’t, not while she was unsafe.”

“Unsafe?”

“Yes, this is what I was trying to tell you before.  The hunters have connections, and they hired a shifter hater to watch over my daughter, and if I did anything stupid, they threatened to hurt Leah.”

“So you gave up the other shifters, to save your daughter?”

It had started making sense to Hannah, every time she had mentioned kids, or wanting some, Tyson would always change the subject and go pale, as if he were suddenly sick to his stomach.  Hannah thought it was because he didn’t want children, but now everything was clear, he didn’t want to have to lie about Leah, he wanted to protect her.  Hannah couldn’t help but smile softly towards Leah, picturing Tyson with her made her heart warm and bubbly, her hand moving down subconsciously to her stomach.

“I did what I had to, to keep her safe.  But when you left me Hannah, because of them.  I couldn’t stand it.  It was them or you, and I chose you.”

“But why kill them, and why so brutally?”

“I was furious, and they deserved it.  They had killed so many of us, and I helped.  The guilt fuelled the bear, and he did what he had to, to protect his family.  I wasn’t going to let them go after my son like they did my daughter.”

“Your son?”

Hannah looked very confused, shaking her head.

“How many children do you have exactly?”

“Currently?  One and one third.”

“What?  One third of a child?  What does it have three dads?”

Now it was Tyson’s turn to look confused, he was gazing at Hannah looking for her to clue in, but she truly had no idea.  Tyson began to laugh, holding his stomach and shaking his head.
