Her grandfather lifted his glass in salute to them. The crowd applauded with enthusiasm.

“We now have the absolute pleasure of watching a few select clips from the much-anticipated documentary.” Applause rippled through the crowd as Marc hit play on the remote.

He then gathered her in his arms as the film played. Looking out at the old-timers in the audience, Isabel could see fascination and joy play across their faces.

When the film ended, there was much spontaneous conversation and Marc pulled her from the podium. She noticed her brothers were over next to her grandfather and his friends.

She could see her parents crossing the floor to meet them. Isabel couldn’t believe that they had just witnessed her engagement.

Marc greeted them graciously and held out his hand in welcome. Her parents began speaking at the same time.

“We didn’t even know that you were dating,” her mother said sharply.

“We didn’t either,” Isabel said as she smiled up at Marc.

Marc took her hand in his. “There were a few obstacles to overcome, but we hope that you will give your blessing.”

Her mother hugged her tight and then her father embraced them both.

“Isabel, I’m so happy for you. And the film was a beautiful tribute to your grandfather,” her mother said quietly.

“We are very proud of you and so happy for you,” her father said as he kissed her forehead. “Your grandfather seemed delighted.”

Isabel nodded. “He was emotional tonight and he missed
Nonna
.”

“I think he enjoyed the added surprise to the evening, as did my Aunt Alda.” Marc smiled at her parents and then said, “If you’ll excuse us, we have some catching up to do.”

As they made their exit, she said to him, “That may have been too obvious.”

Marc said softly as he pulled her into an embrace, “The speeches are about to start and the open bar will continue for the duration. They’ll be fine.”

As they walked down the front steps, she noticed a car service was waiting for them. She heard people saying goodnight as they climbed into the back of the limo. When the driver closed the door, Marc pulled her to him and kissed her thoroughly, saying, “I’ve missed you with my whole heart and soul.”

Clinging tightly to him, she realized she was home. He had taught her how to feel complete and loved. She whispered, “I love you,” as he kissed again.

Pulling her onto his lap, Marc said, “
Ti amo, cara
. It’s going to be a challenge to make it home.”

She couldn’t wait for their life together to start.

The first novel in The Rosa Legacy series,
Ruthless Perfection
, started with the idea of a traditional Italian mother who wanted to see her only daughter marry. The mother, Carla Rosa Neri, along with her two sisters, Francesca and Marie, had emigrated from Italy as young girls and each went off to create a dynamic and successful family. Each of the sisters had an only daughter and the cousins remained close throughout their childhoods and were influenced by the Rosa Legacy as they each embark on a journey to create a life for themselves.

Carla Rosa married into the Neri family with a long history in the Carrara marble industry. Her daughter, Isabel Neri, being a filmmaker and wanting to honor her grandfather’s legacy, approaches a reclusive billionaire, Marc Santoro, to ask permission to produce a documentary about the life of a quarry worker.
Ruthless Perfection

Francesca Rosa married into the Berceto family with a long history in the jewelry making business. The Second novel in The Rosa Legacy series,

The story is about an extraordinary talented jewelry designer who lived a sheltered life and was drawn into a passionate encounter with her family’s rival, Alexander Armati at a gala. Outside in the garden, photographs were taken on them and sold to the tabloid press. Her family was shocked and embarrassed and sent Emelia off to Florida. Four years later, she returns when her grandfather has a heart attack and her parents are deciding to sell the family business. The
Exiled Jeweler
will be available on Amazon in November 2014.

Marie Rosa married into the Adams family with a long history in politics. Her only daughter, Lauren, is fascinated by politics and becomes a speech writer.
