“What the hell did you do that for?” Bliss yelled. She climbed out of the water and pulled Lindsey away from the edge.

Lindsey coughed, sputtering out liquid. Cold air settled on her overheated body and it relieved some of the burning sensation. “I could—have—boiled alive—in that water.” She went into another fit of coughing.

“I honestly thought you’d be able to handle it all right. I’m not used to human limitations. Sorry.” Bliss went to her bag and brought back some washcloths, fragrant soap, and a couple towels. She cupped water from the pool in her hands a few times, dripping it over a large flat rock until it looked warm and clean enough to be sterile. “There, sit yourself here, and I’ll wash you, then you can wash me. How’s that for dessert?”

“Sounds good, I think.” Lindsey studied Bliss’s expression for sincerity, and it glowed in her beautiful emerald eyes. Her smile sent pulsing sensations through Lindsey, warming her even with the chilled air sliding in on a breeze. She’d never known a woman so completely into sexual gratification, or so in line with her own sexual appetite.

“Tell me about your captor,” Bliss said as she set the toiletries along the side of Lindsey, easily accessible. Bliss dipped a washcloth into the water and soaped it. Lavender scented the air.

“He’s mad-crazy.” Her descriptive words popped out with no forethought, but if she delved a bit deeper into Smoke’s past from his journal entries, he definitely had a vulnerable side. She added, “But, he’s displayed a soft-side I find hard to believe. He keeps me out of the mix, I guess sort of like protecting me from the other wild Lycan, yet I’m stolen. Taken away from my soul-mate, Trevor.” Her breath caught for a moment as Bliss smoothed the soapy rag across Lindsey’s back, over her shoulder, and around her breasts.

“Go ahead, sweetie, get it all out,” Bliss directed. She moved the rag down Lindsey’s arms and hands, sliding to her abdomen.

“Smoke raped me…marked me and abused my best friend, slaughtered her animals, killed my friend’s dog, Rebel, kidnapped women, and killed men…or had his henchmen do it for him. I’ve never actually witnessed Smoke killing anything.” Again, Lindsey stopped, mind and body swirling in Trevor and Bliss, someone other than Smoke. The washcloth dropped and Bliss’s lathered fingertips slipped between Lindsey’s feminine folds. A sigh escaped. Bliss threw a towel down for Lindsey’s head and pushed her back, opening her thighs with both hands.

“You’re all tense…let’s relax you.” Bliss massaged deep muscles along the outside and then the inside of Lindsey’s thighs. “Of nature’s mother, you are so lovely, Lindsey,” Bliss whispered. “Your naked pussy entices me with its velvety swollen softness.” She gathered more water and dribbled it between Lindsey’s thighs while blowing moist breath, making Lindsey’s female parts ache with wanton lust. Bliss’s fingers went delicate as they fondled Lindsey’s inner folds, thighs falling open, boneless.

“Oh my God, you’re so damn gentle…” A shiver drew a pulse from her core and she knew it wept for more.

Suddenly, Bliss flipped Lindsey onto her front, lifted her behind, and slapped her ass. Spanked her, open-handed one after another, and then soothed her burning buttocks with the warm soapy rag. Pulling her cheeks apart, Bliss guided the rag down the crack of her backside. Again, Bliss dribbled hot water. It ran between Lindsey’s butt cheeks and drooled over her crevice, sending spikes of red-hot sensations to her clit and nipples.

“Then—you’re so—hard-core—” words became breathless, heavy on her panting.

Just as quickly as Bliss’s fingers drove inside Lindsey’s passage, they withdrew.

Bliss gasped and then growled.

Lindsey rose to her knees and watched Bliss sniff the air. Her body blurred, snapped and bent, until her furry wolf shimmered to life. Her eyes glowed deep green, she snarled, snapped her jaws, and sprinted off on all fours at a dead run.

Lindsey sat there, naked, lust-filled, wondering what in the hell just happened. Ten minutes went by, then she saw…the milky-eyed wolf stood centered at the opening of the cavern and it wore a nasty grin. Smoke.

He sniffed the air and crept closer, head swaying as he scanned the area, until he stopped in front of the rock she sat upon. The wolf leapt, knocking her back. His forepaws pressed her shoulders down. Pain ripped through her knees, still bent with her calves buried behind her thighs and ankles smashed into the rock by her buttocks.

“Ouch! You’re hurting me, Smoke.” Slobber dripped from his gaping mouth, landing next to her lips. She should be scared, but she suddenly no longer cared. “Go ahead. Kill me if you’re going to. I don’t want to be treated like a prisoner anymore.”

He shifted out of wolf over her, his weight crushing her, until his naked human-form rose above her. Smoke held himself up by his arms and knees, hovering, his gaze locked on hers.

“You shouldn’t have left,” was all he said, but his tight mouth and narrow eyes told her to expect big punishment.

She pulled Bliss and Trevor from her thoughts and carefully tucked those back into the secret place in her mind, surprised Bliss held a place there at all. Until now, it had been reserved only for Trevor.

He crawled off the rock, but rested against its edge, his back to her. Lindsey unfolded, still on fire for Bliss and in pain from Smoke’s body-slam. She stole a glance outside for Bliss. Nothing. Smoke’s naked back trembled in front of her, surely from anger. He shook his head and jerked around to face her again.

“Why, Lindsey?” His intense glare, his tone, everything about him screwed with her mind.

“You’re toying inside my head…searching again, aren’t you?” She slid closer to him, wearing the masked expression she’d perfected just for him, silently thanking Professor Brown for all of those secret little acting tidbits shared during drama classes. Closing off those she loved to keep them safe…from Smoke. Movement outside, in the distance, made her look past his shoulder.

He caught it and turned, but Lindsey pinched his nipple. Smoke gasped. His attention shot back to her. She slithered down between his legs, gathering his complete focus and his thickening cock between her lips.

“I scented your arousal, and it wasn’t for me. Where is she? The female who took you?” His fingers entwined her hair and snapped her head back, away from his cock. His stare entangled her in a different way, any hint of compassion gone. “She will die for this if you don’t come clean with me right now.”

“What makes you think anyone took me? Is it beyond me to make a run for it?” A lump formed in her throat at the angle Smoke tilted her head. It affected her breathing, cutting off air from her lungs. She grabbed his cock and squeezed, and then grabbed his balls. Before she had a chance to squeeze those, he let go of her hair, his fingers encircled both her wrists like an extra constricting pair of steel handcuffs.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you. If you care anything for your ex or your friend, stop this nonsense. Tell me how in the hell you got here. Who took you and where is she?” His grip on her wrists tightened until she let go of him, then he twisted around her and leaned his backside against the rock with Lindsey on her knees facing him.

“Fine, you win. Like you always win.” She didn’t really care what she said to him any longer. Lindsey wasn’t afraid, she didn’t care if she lived or died. She’d never escape him, never.

“Where is she?” Smoke pulled her up, until her face was only inches from his. “Where. Is. She?”

“I’m here.” Bliss stepped across the cavern in all her naked glory. Her pert little tits barely bounced and showed off large areoles like a hooker’s pasties. She stopped so close, her body heat radiated against Lindsey’s backside. Smoke instantaneously shoved Lindsey downward, back onto her knees.

She looked up at Smoke. His gaze at Bliss smoldered with something deeper, stronger than angst or lust. Lindsey noticed Bliss looked at Smoke the same way.

Chapter Sixteen

Trevor

Trevor stepped off the plane with the others, each carrying one loaded bag of Lycan kick-ass gear. He’d worked so hard keeping thoughts of Lindsey out of his mind, and here he was in the thick of it. He’d like nothing better than to watch that son-of-a-bitch Smoke suffer at the loss of Lindsey, just as Trevor had done for well over a month. The main fear eating away at his insides was that Lindsey might suffer over it as well…and that would kill him, more than if Lindsey stabbed him in the heart with a silver blade. He didn’t want to be part of the take down, unable to bear which side Lindsey would fall when it happened. Would her allegiance be with him or with Smoke?

A large black SUV waited for them near the airstrip, arrangements having been made before landing. Damen went from the pilot’s seat right to the driver’s seat, pulled the keys from above the visor, and popped the back-end open. Everyone threw their bags in. Chance closed the hatch. The rest waited for him to climb inside before they did.

Trevor missed the times he used to have with Chance. They’d been friends for many years, but something happened when Lindsey and Olivia came into their lives. They changed, and if Trevor had a say in how, it would sound negative, just like he felt. He cared for his Alpha’s mate, but Olivia reminded him of Lindsey, so it was easier to simply stay away.

“Jasmine made us reservations at Dude Drop Inn, a motel in Rutskins. We got connecting rooms. Think we should take a drive around town and see what’s shakin’ there, Damen. That’s the general mail address Smoke’s been using for pick-ups. Maybe there’s a few of his pack stationed around town as well.” Chance pulled an area map from the glove-compartment. He shook it open. “We need to remain under the radar, so don’t go asking too many questions. Simply keep a watchful eye.”

The trip to Rutskins from Sheridan should have taken over three hours, but Damen made it in two, even in wild snowy conditions. The guy drove balls-to-the-walls fast, which didn’t bother anyone. There weren’t many out testing the roads.

Damen pulled up to the small motel, which looked like the only one in town. It appeared more like a populated four corners, a good-sized bar and grill, church, post office, grocery—gas station combo, and the motel beside that.

“I’d say there won’t be much to checking the area.” Dir chuckled.

“Let’s check-in to the motel, gear up, and check out the only hoppin’ place in town, Rutskin’s Bar & Grill.”

Trevor followed Chance, deciding he’d room with his Alpha. Dir and Damen moved to the next door down. There were two rows of rooms at ground level, twenty-four in all, only a couple vehicles in the parking lot and three snowmobiles.

“Do you think those could be the same three snowmobiles we saw take off earlier?” Trevor asked before anyone opened their respective door. Just then, three males walked out of a room across the way, sniffed the air, and turned toward them. Trevor, Chance, Dir, and Damen stood as if frozen for a moment, calculating the next move, waiting for Chance to give a directive.

“After them, they’re from Smoke’s pack.” No sooner did the words leave Chance’s mouth then all four LIIA agents took the most direct course. The three males of Smoke’s pack jumped on the snowmobiles with lightning speed, revving the engines. The one farthest away sped off. Dir and Damen tackled one of the remaining drivers, and Trevor and Chance caught up with the other, body slamming him off the seat of the moving sled. Once Trevor knew Chance had the rogue apprehended, he jumped on the snowmobile and headed off in the direction of the one that got away. He heard someone following, and assumed Dir or Damen grabbed the other snowmobile.

Trevor sped up, driving over the tracks in the snow the escapee left behind. Snow started falling again, gaining heavy momentum. It made it hard to see the tracks in the snow or even the snow kicking up from the snowmobile ahead. With the snow in Trevor’s face, it also became difficult to scent his target. He slowed, listening ahead. Damen pulled up beside him.

“What happen, you lose him in the snow?”

“Can you pick up a scent?” Trevor stood, feet planted on the machine, nose in the air. Damen did the same. Night settled in around them, lots of darkness and snow.

“Nothing. Snow’s too thick, too heavy and wet. I can hear the snowmobile, but he’s so far away, don’t think I could hear it above the sound of mine to follow it. Unless, you want to ditch the machines and go wolf?”

“No, let’s head back and see what Chance and Dir get out of the two they got.” Both Lycan turned and sped back, pulling up just in time to witness the bloodied duo being pushed inside Chance and Trevor’s room.

“Let’s check out the room those guys exited while Chance and Dir interrogate. It won’t take all of us to ask questions.” Trevor jumped off the sled and stopped in front of the door. What pulled him up short were the sounds coming from within, and instantly, a picture of Lindsey riding Smoke slammed inside his head. He dropped to his knees.

“Damn, Trevor, what’s going on with you? Did you get popped by one of Smoke’s rogues?” Damen hauled him up from the ground. “Pull yourself together.” Then Damen’s grip loosened, he tilted his head, hearing exactly what got Trevor’s attention. “Shit, there’s fuckin’ going on inside.”

Damen kicked the door open, pulling Trevor in beside him. Trevor almost closed his eyes to it, afraid of who lie in that bed with who. But the male yelling wasn’t Smoke.

“What the fuck?” the rogue’s voice was drowned out by the pussy over his mouth.

The scene before Trevor didn’t include Lindsey, but those females acted the same passion-enhanced way that he remembered his mate displaying with Smoke. One of the females sat on her knees above the rogue’s face, riding his mouth like it was a cock. Another pumped herself up and down on the dude’s cock, and the third lay at the end of the bed with vibrating dildos in both her vagina and her anus. All of the females pinched their breasts and moaned in ecstasy.

“Damnation, so this is the effects of Startem,” Damen said, his eyes as round as fifty-cent pieces.

Trevor stared at the females. They never stopped, not even when Trevor and Damen broke through the door, as if the females were locked in their own sexual fantasy somewhere other than this room. It had Trevor wondering about what Dir said earlier. Maybe Lindsey hadn’t realized who the hell she fucked.
Maybe she thought it was me and not Smoke
. Lindsey’s performance had looked so real and passionate like the females in front of him, as out of sync with the real world as his Alpha’s mate, Olivia, had been when rescued out of Smoke’s hide-out a month and a half ago.
