Knox looks at Max over his shoulder "What are you doing?" he asks in hushed tones Max shrugs "Just wondering" Knox turns to back to the food while Max inspects his brothers tattoos. "Do you have many tattoos?" I ask Max who nods, he walks over to me taking off his t-shirt turning so I can see his back. I stand up looking at him Max has the same tree as Knox but Max's is on the left I reach out to run my fingers along it, reading the names on it only Max added Spike and Sarah with a red hue around it. I look at his others; they almost have all the same ink only different colors or shapes. Max has some symbols across his spine below his neck which Knox doesn't I run my fingers over them as he looks over his shoulder at me "That's my name" I smile as I look lower he has an outline of a Celtic circle with wing like designs coming out of each side and the bottom looks like a tail only it's not, the whole thing is full of Celtic ropes and knots "Wow Max that is beautiful" I say touching every part of it, inspecting it.
"Hey babe, are you getting this one too?" I ask turning to Knox who is standing with his arms crossed which make his biceps bulge menacingly, watching me touch his brother. Pulling my hand away I straighten up "I don't know I haven't decided" he answers bringing over a plate for Max and I. Max grabs Knox around his shoulder "C'mon bro we are twins we have to be the same" he smiles, Knox rolls his eyes smiling back "No we don't we can be different" Max looks crestfallen, pulling his shirt down he takes his sandwich walking out of the room with Spike hot on his heals. I look at Knox "Why did you say that to him?" He shrugs "We don't have to be the same, we already are" I look at him watching the door "You are being a dick Knox, you didn't need to hurt him like that" he looks at me with his eyes blazing "And you don't have to touch him like that"
I ball my fist at my side, I want to punch him right now "Knox don't dare ruin Christmas for me, if you want to be an asshole then I am leaving. I don't have those feelings for Max you tool. He is like a brother to me" he rubs his face "I'm sorry I know, I just freaked out" sitting down I stare at him "Go apologize to your brother asshole" I take out my phone ignoring him. Getting up he groans muttering on his way out. I can hear him say sorry to Max who answers with "ok" Knox doesn't come back to the kitchen I hear him stomp up the stairs.
"Max what the fuck is going on here?" I ask walking into the room, he looks at me "Nothing why?" "Max cut the crap, you two are being weird toward each other. Am I the Yoko of the Porter brothers?" I ask him which makes him laugh "Holy shit Bailey you are cool, we always agreed to get the same tattoos we both picked this one but I got mine done first" I shake my head "Man this like being around two twelve year old girls" Max shrugs "Maybe he needs to get laid" I give a pointed look "Seriously Max, what the hell do you think we did all night and this morning"
Walking into Knox's room I see him playing guitar "Knox what is going on? Should I leave?" I ask kneeling down beside him "No Darlin I am being stupid I know you and Max are good friends, just seeing you touch him kind of flipped a switch" "Knox give it up thinking like that" he nods "Ok I know" he picks me up carrying me down to the sitting room to a sad looking Max putting me down he jumps beside Max grabbing him "Sorry bro I was being a dick" Max nods but doesn't look at him or answer.
"Come on Max" Knox coaxes him getting him in a head lock, Max gives him playful punch n the gut "Get off me asshole" he pushes at Knox as they mess fight "Ok I will go tomorrow and my ink started" Knox announces "Its cool you don't have to" Max shrugs, I roll my eyes at them, Jesus they remind me of me and Summer. "Cannon ball" I shout jumping on both of them, I land across both their laps as the cover their manhood's laughing. Knox tickles me while Max holds me down "Get off me" I cry laughing "No way Yoko this is your fault" Max laughs in my face holding my arms while Knox tickles me all over.
"Ok Ok mercy" I say as Max lets me go, Knox shouts at him "No don't fall for it" I smile as I get up they are both watching me but I just sit on the chair fixing my clothes, Knox points "No way, Bailey you don't give up that easily" Max looks between us "Shit bro we better sleep with one eye open" Max gets off the sofa turning on the Xbox "Come Knox I will kick your ass" he throws a controller at Knox who is still watching me "Go play babe, I will watch you" I say innocently. I watch them play for a while, they push and shove each other both knocking the controllers from the others hand, even Spike gets in on the action jumping at the TV screen chasing the gunfire. I slip out of the room as they carry on, running into the kitchen I fillip a large glass with ice and water, creeping back in they are sitting side-by-side talking.
"Payback's a bitch" I say pouring the glass over their heads, they both jump and I run "Bailey you are dead" Knox shouts chasing after me, I put the glass in the kitchen as he comes in brushing his hair back with his hand smirking at me. I laugh staying on my side of the island "you know there is two of us" he cocks his head to the side "Hey you guys tickled me and that was your payback" Knox walks slowly around the island so I move too "Yes but you didn't get wet" he keeps circling as do I "Maybe you just didn't tickle the right spot" I tell him laughing.
He stops moving looking at me, then holds his hand up in surrender "Ok I will just have to get you back later" Max walks in holding the ice cubes "Very funny sis" he smiles at me "I'm hitting the shower then bed see you two in the morning" he leaves the room watching Knox and I having a standoff. Knox puts his hand out for me to take "Want to go to bed?" I nod, still standing on the other side of the counter "Come on I promise I won't tickle you" cautiously I walk around the island taking his hand he lifts it to his mouth kissing my knuckles.
I grab my bag bringing it with me, Knox turns on the lamp on the desk bathing the room in a soft glow "I'll just go dry off" he kisses my head leaving the room. I change into my pajamas and wait holding my toothbrush until he comes back; he smiles at me "Straight ahead darlin" pointing to a door. I walk inside the bathroom closing the door behind me; I am surprised at how clean it is for a house with three grown men, it's not a pigsty. I make my way back to Knox who is in bed waiting, he pulls back the covers for me and I slip into his bed. I can smell his cologne which makes me smile, I really love that smell "Why are you smiling?" he kisses my lips and nose "I can smell you on the pillow" he raises an eyebrow "I mean your cologne" I laugh. He smiles at me as he slides his hand under my t-shirt "I know darlin I like your little quirks" I don't get a chance to respond before his lips meet mine.
Over the last few days I spent time with my mom, she took me shopping for my dress for tonight. I had a good few days with her and we didn't fight at all which is a miracle, Paige never came out with us, she has been avoiding Max all week too. My mom bought me a beautiful black floor length dress with a slit up the left side to my mid thigh; it is a halter bodice with sparkles through out the materiel. I got my hair styled like a 1950's Hollywood starlet and now I am in my room doing my makeup. Knox is in the guest room getting ready, we are meeting Max and Paige for dinner at six thirty, hopefully Paige shows up.
Finishing my makeup I slip on my dress zipping it up at the side, I put on my shoes and some perfume. Knox knocks on the door then strolls in, my jaw hits the floor "Oh my god Knox, James Bond eat your heart out" I breath. Standing there in front of me is my TDH man wearing a tuxedo, his black hair looks darker from the hair gel and his emerald eyes are shining so bright they look like they are glowing. Jesus he is hot, he smiles at me and I have to hold onto the dresser to stop myself falling over "Look at you beautiful" he says then whistles at me. "Knox I want to have your babies" I say shaking my head, he laughs at me taking my hand "One day darlin, one day"
We walk down the stairs to see my dad waiting for us with a camera "Stop! Say cheese" he says to us and we comply. We make it to the end of the stairs and he snaps a few more, Hugging him I kiss his cheek "Happy new year dad" he squeezes me "You too sweetheart" he holds me at arms length smiling "You look beautiful Bailey" "Thanks dad" Knox shakes my dad's hand wishing him a happy new year then we leave. Knox is driving my car, my dad actually put him on the insurance, he smiles over at me "You are beautiful darlin" he is making me blush which makes him laugh.
We arrive at the restaurant a little early but see Max and Paige waiting there "Paige, you look gorgeous" I say hugging her, she has on a mint green knee length dress with matching shoes and her diamonds "You too, Jessica Rabbit" she says eyeing the slit in my dress. I hug Max as she hugs Knox; taking my phone out I snap pictures of them I get Max and Knox together too. "You guys are going to give some poor woman a heart attack" they both laugh.
"I know right" says Paige looking at them together "Stop it darlin or you will have one yourself" Knox winks at me, "Nope it's definitely not a heart attack" I say fanning my face for effect, Knox's eyes pop open "Jesus Bailey, calm down" I laugh at him "What darlin, you don't me to have an O." he cuts me off with a kiss "No not in the street only in bed" he says into my mouth. I pull back smiling at him, Paige and Max are holding hands but seem standoffish. We wait for about twenty minutes before being seated, dinner is fun we joke around with each other laughing and taking photos with our phones. Some girl comes over to say hello to Knox "HI Knox you look handsome tonight" he smiles "Thanks, Happy new year" he raises his glass as she bends to kiss his cheek "You too" then she walks away, Knox wipes his cheek with his napkin watching me waiting to see if I will say or do anything, but I don't I know he is mine.
He leans over to me looking into my eyes "What babe?" "She is in my computer class" I put my finger on his lips "Knox do you love me?" he nods "Do you want to go with her?" he shakes his head "I am going to have your babies?" I say laughing and he nods his "Well then that's all the matters, I told you before you are hot and sexy what girl wouldn't try steel you from me" I take my finger away and kiss him. "I love you," he says kissing me again.
I turn back to face Max and Paige, Max looks shocked and Paige looks uncomfortable. "Babies?" Max questions, I laugh "Not now Max in the future" he visibly relaxes "Thank god, because we are opening our own business after school" he says to me trying to be stern rolling my eyes "Yeah, Yeah I have been warned already not to interfere in Knox's future" I say sipping my drink before realizing what I just let slip out. Knox looks at me "What do you mean you were warned?" crap why did I say that, I sip my drink stalling. Paige excuses herself to the bathroom leaving Knox and Max looking for an answer, I cringe, as I look at them "I was warned not to interfere with your plans to open your own business and that you need to concentrate on school not girls"
Knox and Max exchange looks, Knox sighs but doesn't say anything he just takes my hand in his rubbing my wrist with his thumb. When Paige comes back she looks a little green "You ok Paige?" she nods "Yeah sorry I haven't been too well this week, my stomach is still a little queasy" Max puts his arm around her "Hey, you should have told me I would have come over to take care of you" she smiles at him "I know but I was at home with my parents so my mom was there" Max nods "Ah the parents you don't want me to meet huh?" he teases her "I think she is ashamed of me" he says to Knox and I, Paige gasps "I am not! Max. Don't say that you can met them very soon actually" Max turns to her "Ok on Thursday" he winks at her.
By eight thirty we are walking to the bar, it opens at nine tonight so Knox and Max need to be ready. Uncle George has hired a DJ and some bar staff for tonight; they are waiting by the door as we arrive. Knox unlocks it letting us inside, he tells the bar staff what he wants them to do while the DJ sets up. They have two waitresses tonight neither are Lucy, Knox brings us over to the first booth closest to the bar "This is for you ladies, we will be back and forth to the bar if it gets too busy Max and I will have to jump in and help" "Ok babe" I say sliding into the seat.
Max brings over our drinks and takes a seat beside Paige "Oh can I just have water Max by stomach is still acting funny" she asks him "Sure" he gets up again. The DJ is pumping out the music as the bar fills up "Who wants to dance?" I ask looking around; Max looks miserable now Paige looks like she wants to be anywhere but here and Knox is watching the bar, so much for that idea. "Hey darlin I am going to check on these guys," Knox says heading for the bar leaving me sitting with two unhappy campers.
Getting up I grab Max "Come on bro lets do this" I pull him out of the seat and he smiles at me. We are dancing messing around "Hey what's up with Paige?" I ask him, he rolls his eyes and shrugs, and I put my arm on his shoulder as we move "Hey why are you and Knox talking about babies?" I laugh "It's a joke Max don't worry I am too young for kids" he nods at me turning me around so some guy won't bump into me we are still dancing when I spot Paige watching us, I wave her over and she shakes her head no, I mouth "Now" to her. She smiles sliding out of the booth "Mind if I cut in?" she asks Max turns to her putting his arms around her waist "No, I was kinda hoping you would come join us"
I look around for Knox but don't see him behind the bar or in out seat making my way to the bar I walk into the back seeing him talking to one of the waitresses, he is nodding as she complains about the other girl pouting at him. "Hey babe, are you coming back out?" I ask holding his hand "Yeah darlin" he waitress walks off and rolls his eyes "What was that about" he pulls me into him tracing small circles on my leg where the dress opens "Nothing she just want me to have sex with her" I pull back looking at him and he laughs "Your mean" I slap his chest "Na darlin only you get the goods, she was complaining about splitting tips" Rolling my eyes I kiss him "Lets dance handsome"
We hit the dance floor hands all over each other Knox is a good dancer "Where did you learn to dance?" I ask him, he smiles shaking his head then grabs my ass "Can't tell you" Jackass. The DJ slows down the music I wrap my arms around his neck as we inch closer he kisses me, The DJ plays our song and Knox pulls me flush with his body as he sings to me "
