She hit the send button and she felt a ton of bricks lifted off her shoulders and then several ton coming back down to them.  She wanted to have a relationship with him, just not the kind he wanted.
I will not live like that.  Not again.

She curled up in bed and began thinking about all the times she fell asleep in his arms.  The tender kisses.  The mouthwatering, mind blowing touches.  His mouth touching, caressing, and licking the sweetest places on her.
Oh I’m already missing him.  How am I going to be strong enough to fight him.
That was her last thought before waking.

*****

Going into work was going to be the hardest part.  Get the first initial blow from seeing him again and then after that it should get easier.  Or so she thought.

“Lois, you didn’t sleep well last night did you?”

“Michelle, I don’t want to talk about it, not now not ever!”  She bit her head off.  She knew she had.  She was chewing on the wrong person.  “Michelle wait.  Don’t go.  I didn’t mean it.  I just can’t right now ok.  Please.”  Now she was begging her.  Her best friend.  Her only friend.

“Ok.  When you’re ready though, you know I am always going to be here for you right?”

“Absolutely.  Friends till the end.”  She smiled.  That reassuring smile that someone tries to give someone when you know in your heart it is only because they don’t know what else to do or say.

“Ok, so I’m going to work.  See ya after right?”

“Yes, we will go out to eat or something.”

“Sounds great.  Michelle thanks.”

When she walked into the office she thought it would be just like any other day.  He wouldn’t be there yet and she could just fix his damn coffee.

She made the coffee and made her way to his office.  There he was.  Shit.  She turned to walk out but his voice stopped her dead in her tracks.

“Lois, is that for me?”  When she turned around his smirk on his face sent anger raging at unstoppable forces through her veins.  She smiled, walked towards him and before she could stop herself tossed the cup of nicely fresh brewed steaming coffee on him.  “Two sugar, two cream, just like you like it.”  She walked out quickly.  Probably the fastest she had walked in a long time hoping she could make it back to her office and just forget about how damn immature that just was.

She no sooner got to her office and she heard him.  “Lois, back to my office.  RIGHT NOW!!!!!”  The tone in his voice was definitely not a good one.  Who gives a damn.  She walked in there, head held high.  He was standing there.  His shirt was off.  His chest was red from the hot coffee blanched his skin.  He was wiping his pants off.

He looked up at her and slowly undid his belt.

Her eyes enlarged before she became even further enraged.
“If you so much as even come within a foot of me, I swear to god I will dump the entire pot on you next!!!”

“Belts.  Hmmm.  I a hard limit for you.  I thought you said you were smart enough to google.”

“I’m not talking about it with you right now, not ever.  Get that through you’re sick and twisted fucked up head of yours.  I will not be your love slave, toy, or whatever you call your woman ready to take a beaten at your will.  It’s not who I am and not who I will ever be. I will never live a life like that again. Fuck you.”

“We fucked already remember.  I didn’t call you in here for this.  Stop now.  Beings that I am back in town I have no choice but to attend yet another one of my Mother’s charity events.  It’s her whole life now.  Event after event for one cause or another.

Anyways, since I have to, you have to.  Mark will also be required to attend just like every year he has in the past so don’t think this is my way of getting close to you again.  Because, I can do that without that lame excuse.  You will also need a cute little gown similar to the one you wore last time.  Do you have another?  If not charge it to the hotel.  Beings that you are being required to attend.  And again, I also pay for the tux rental for Mark as well so this is not just for you.”

“Since when did going to fancy balls become part of my job description?” She was using the sternest voice she could give.  She didn’t think it even fazed him though.  She knew he was a heartless bastard.

“Since you have free time on your hands.  That's when.  Don't argue with me, take off now and go find your gown.  You will also escort me to the ball.  So we will need to meet here at 6:30.  Don't be late.”

“I may have to go to your fancy ball, but I don't have to allow your escort.”

“As I said, you’re going to be mine, no excuses you’re excused.”  She watched as he went to shuffling some papers as if he totally had forgotten who he was talking to.  She stood and stormed out of the room.
How dare he?
She was right.  She knew it all along.  He was just being nice to her so he could use her for whatever his needs fancied at the time.

I’ll show him.  I am an attractive woman, and I am going to make him jealous, angry and lust after me for a while.  Let’s see how he likes that.  Let me ruffle his feathers and then throw a freaking bone at him and then take it away.  Fucking dog.

She shopped for the perfect dress, found the perfect heels, and had her hair done.  When the lady was finished with her hair it was amazing.  It was bunned up to the crown of her head, soft curls were everywhere looped and entwining each other.  In each ringlet were these tiny sapphire pins.  She didn't realize at the time that is why the stylist had asked the color of her dress.

She rushed home hoping she had enough time to get ready.  It was already 5:45, thankfully she only live just a couple of blocks from the office.  Worked out perfectly for her.  She hurried and dressed but by the time she was finished it was 6:40, damn it, she was gonna get fired for this.

But she had to take a minute to admire herself in the mirror.  She looked like a princess. She anxiously rushed to the elevator door, but when the doors opened there he stood.  His face was angered but he looked absolutely delicious in his black and white tux.  It didn't take but seconds for his look to soften as his eyes surveyed her like she was being inspected to see if she was presentable.

“Well?” She almost teased.

“Well, you’re late, I told you to be at the office at 6:30, and I didn't say I was coming to pick you up.  When I give you instructions I expect you to follow them.  With that being said”  His voice softened… “You make my insides quiver dressed like that.  You look damn right drop dead gorgeous sexy as hell in your dress that hugs your smooth voluptuous curves.  As good as you look in that dress, I only want to ravage it off of you and make love to you like I have with no other.”

She never spoke a word.  She didn't have to.  She was beginning to know Tom too well and she knew that look that was pasted to his face.  He had only just recently managed to pick his jaw up off the ground even though he tried to hide it.  She knew exactly what her appearance was doing to him and she was going to milk it for everything she could get out of him.

When they reached the door to the hotel, she went speechless, thoughtless.  She seen the most beautiful truck she had ever seen and it looked so familiar to her.  Tears swarmed to her eyes like a honey bee to his nest.  This view, was what she had only dreamed her grandfather’s truck would look like given she had the opportunity to fix it.  To her astonishment Tom walked up to the truck and looked back at her.

The truck, it only made everything he had done and put me through worth it.  She just stood there admiring the truck.  “I got to thinking that maybe you might want your vehicle picked up after it broke down on you.  I don’t mean to be rude but it was in need of a lot more than just some engine work.  Here you go.  It’s all yours.”

She walked to the truck never even glancing in his direction.  “You mesmerize me at the way you can walk in those heels now and it makes me smile when I think of the way you used to walk in them.  You have blossomed into a complete and totally beautiful woman.  And you are right here in my arms reach.”  She could hear him talking and heard everything he had said to her but she just couldn’t stop looking at the truck.  She surveyed every new detail about the truck from its color on the outside to the new tires.

She couldn't hide the tears rushing to her eyes.  She ran to Tom, wrapping her arms around him and kissing him as if she was never going to let go.

When she realized what she was doing, she pulled herself away.  “I'm sorry I didn't mean to.”  Her cheeks flushed so quickly she could feel the blood rushing to them.

“It's OK, I understand.”  He walked to the passenger side of the truck and opened the door, “Are you ready?”

She looked at the door and then up at him and with a devilish smile, “Are you ready?” She walked to the driver seat and hopped in.  He smiled and hopped in beside her.  Not a single word was spoken on their way to the ball.

When they arrived to the ball, the valet took the keys and Tom met her extending his arm to escort her in.  She graciously accepted his offer.  How could she not, after the most thoughtful thing he had done for her.  Nobody in her life had ever done such a thing for her.  And until now, she didn’t think this kind of stuff actually happened in real life.

Tom could feel her begin to jitter.  “Are you OK?”

“Sure, Yeah, I'm fine.”  He had to know that she wasn’t and that she was very nervous.  Although she didn’t understand why, after all the way she looked in that dress, she really had no reason to be nervous at all.

Tom left her side briefly to fetch them a drink. She watched him socialize with everyone there.  She even felt a bit of jealousy as he leaned in and kissed the cheek of a stranger to Lois, but a beautiful woman.  When Tom returned, the woman that had made Lois envious followed.

“Lois, I would like you to meet, Tamra, she and I well we have a history.”  She couldn't help but to have evil thoughts of pulling out every blonde strand of hair on her head out.  She didn't like the way Tom smiled back at Tamra when he said a history.  “It’s nice to meet you Lois.”  Tamra held her hand out, but she could only look at her with snide remarks written all over her face.  She finally pulled herself together and shook her hand.  “The same.”

She stood there listening to Tom and Tamra reminisce over the history they had.   She even thought a couple of times she was absolutely going to vomit in her mouth.  All she could do now was pick out the bad with Tamra and the woman that seemed to be the subject of their conversation.  When she began literally biting her tongue she thought it would be best to excuse herself quietly.

She made her way across the room, to the snack bar and began making herself a little saucer of raw veggies and dip.  When she turned back to look at Tom, he was still engaged in conversation with the same damn woman.

Lois didn't like it, as a matter of fact she hated it.  She didn't like how Tamara had her hand resting where Lois had placed hers on the way in. She didn't like how she leaned in and spoke to him in his ear.  And she most definitely didn't like the way both of them would break out into laughter afterwards.

That's it.  What is he trying to do to me?  If he is trying to prove a point he’s already done it.  I know he can have any woman he wants. He don’t need me in his bed.
Lois became angered again.  She picked up her glass of champagne and drank it like she was shooting whiskey followed by several more glasses.

Lois thought a couple of times of finding someone to have a conversation with that would make Tom eye her with the same angry look she had given Tamra.  But she didn't socialize with these kind of people and she didn't know where to begin.

“Hello there Ma'am.  My name is Jade Thomas.  I don't believe I have had the pleasure of meeting you before, I would sure remember such beauty.”  She turned to see a handsome man standing in front of her.  Very handsome indeed.  He was talk, dark, well-built and steamy hot.  But he wasn’t Tom.
