Mike just pointed to the door.

“King Kong has spoken,” Alan
said.  “Better move it.  He gets antsy when he’s not obeyed.  Starts cracking
heads and shit.”

One
Week Later

The sun was already making its way
up in the sky when Sam got home from the nightshift.  Closing the garage door,
he went into the house.  SJ greeted him by demanding breakfast, stat.

Picking him up, Sam rubbed his
head, rewarded by the rusty purr that immediately erupted.  Man, how he loved
his cat.  Tough, besotted with poor little Crusher who he apparently thought
was his adopted son or something - who knew how SJ’s mind worked - and Sam’s
companion while Carly had been busy with police interviews, work, and her and
Ed’s family descending on them.

She’d barely had time to be alone
with him.  Several times she’d snuck over, but they hadn’t had much time
together.  Poor Carly, his little honey had been so apologetic.

He liked her family.  He could
understand their concern and need to heap love on her, to reassure themselves
that she was all right.

God, when he’d seen that bastard
yelling and verbally abusing her, he’d wanted to tear his throat out.   It had
taken all Mike’s strength and Alan’s powers of persuasion to stand back and
observe.  But the last straw was when Jonathon had pulled that switch blade.
Rage had erupted and he’d gone for him.  Nothing was going to stand in his way,
let alone a shitty piece of glass.  He’d have killed the bastard if Carly
hadn’t flung herself into his arms.  One look at her and he’d gone from raging
lunatic to protective lover, cradling her close.

Later, Mike had told her off for
putting herself in danger.  She’d merely replied that she knew that Sam would
never hurt her.  Sam found her faith in him humbling.  All Mike could do was
rumble and grumble and stomp about like a bear with a sore head.  Then he
hugged her briefly, told Sam to take her in hand, and left.

Yeah, Sam understood her family,
and he liked them, but it wasn’t the same as being alone with her.

Heading for the bathroom, he
peeled off his clothes and dropped them in the laundry basket, kicking off his
work shoes and shoving them in the shoe cupboard beside the washing machine.

The family were all leaving
tomorrow and he’d finally have Carly to himself.  He’d deliberately swapped the
next three night shifts with some of the other nurses, just so he could be with
her.  It had warmed his heart when she’d told him she’d taken time off work as
well.  Man, he couldn’t wait to be with her again, to spend time with her, to
make love leisurely and afterwards hold her in his arms. He missed her so much.

Okay,  maybe there was a
little
bit of resentment towards her family…

The warm water was welcome,
sluicing away the smell of disinfectant and banishing his weariness.  Getting
out, he dried himself before wrapping the towel loosely around his waist and
stepping out of the bathroom.

And then his mouth fell open.

Leaning against the door jamb of
his bedroom door was Carly.  But hell… His tongue nearly fell out of his head.

The silky swathe of her hair fell
around her shoulders and lower to curl enticingly just above one breast.
Tantalizing glimpses of her curves were revealed by the long,  red, lacy
nightgown she wore, and the bodice barely covered her full breasts.  The valley
between them just begged him to bury his face in the scented warmth.

Lifting his stunned gaze, he found
her looking at him, her thick lashes half covering her eyes, her lips soft and
full and pink, shining with lip gloss he just knew he was going to lick away.
One, because he knew it was strawberry flavoured, and two, because he just
loved tasting her.  Underneath that strawberry was Carly’s unique flavour.  It
made for a delicious combination.

Slowly, her gaze sliding provocatively
down his body and equally slowly and provocatively back up to his face, Carly lifted
one arm to lay her hand against the door jamb.  “Hi.”

His knees almost knocked at that
sultry purr.  That’s what it was all right, hell yes.  Sultry.  “Hi.”

“So, Sam, I was wondering if you
had plans for the rest of the day.”

His shaft was already stiffening.
Hell, yes
.

Her smile was pure allure as she
watched him move forward.

Coming to stop right before her,
Sam reached out to rest his hand on the doorjamb above hers.  Leaning on his
arm, he looked down into her now up-turned face.  “Depends what you have planned,”
he replied huskily, inhaling her scent of soap, faint perfume, and strawberry.

“Well, now.”  She smiled
seductively.  “What would you like to do?”

Lifting his other hand, he sifted
the silken strands of her hair through his fingers before bringing a fragrant
lock to his nose.
Oh man, strawberry
.

A tug at his waist, cool air on
his legs and then the towel fell around his bare feet.

“My,” she breathed.  “I do think I
know what you might want.”

His answer was to lower his head
and kiss her lightly.

“Mmmm.”  Taking his hand, she slid
past him and backed into the bedroom, towing him willingly along.  Facing him
as she stepped back gracefully, the lace of the nightgown slipped aside to reveal
a daring slit up to her thigh on one side before sliding back into place to cut
off the mouth-watering view.

At the bedside she turned, placing
him with his back to it.  One gentle push of her small palm on his chest and he
obeyed, falling back onto the bed.

His shaft ached, throbbed, his
blood starting to surge thickly, hotly, through his veins.

Bracing both hands one each side
of his head, Carly looked down at him.  “Sam,” she said softly,  “I love you.”

It wasn’t what he expected to
hear, but he sure as hell had elation leaping upward.  “Carly-”

“Uh-uh.” Placing one finger on his
lips, she shook her head.  “I’m not finished.”

Okay, he could listen, but no way
could he stop his arm from lifting, his hand from falling to the small of her
back and stroking slowly.

Almost immediately he was rewarded
by the darkening of her eyes, the enticing way she arched slightly like a cat,
the catch in her breath when he slid his hand lower to spread over one curved
cheek of her derrière.

“Sam.”  She lowered herself down
so that those generous breasts were plumped against his chest.

Now it was his breath catching,
but he forced himself to wait, to gaze up into her eyes, to let her take the
lead.

For now.

“I love you, Sam,” she repeated.
“The other night I realised how fleeting life can be, how precious, and I don’t
want to wait, to take things slowly.  I want you now. In my life, in every
aspect.”  Lowering her head, she brushed her mouth across his, light like a
butterfly’s wings.  “Marry me, Sam.”

It was the last thing he expected,
and his mouth opened partly in surprise.  “Marry you?”

There was no hesitation, fear, or
uncertainty in her face.  “Yes.  Marry me.”

He didn’t need a second asking.
His heart leaped, joy rushing through him, happiness exploding throughout his entire
body.

Cupping the back of her head, he
brought her face down so her forehead rested against his, so he could look
deeply, so deeply into her eyes, not wanting her to mistake his feelings.

“Yes, Carly,” he said softly.  “A
thousand times, yes.”

Her beautiful face lit up with a
smile, brown eyes warming, soft lips curving.  Her palms cradled his face
tenderly as she kissed him with the same love he could feel pouring through
him.

Rolling, he reversed their
positions, not breaking their kiss as he slid the thin straps from her shoulders,
lifting his hips so he could push it lower, feeling the shift of her curves as
she lifted her own hips.  The nightgown disappeared.

Nothing separated them now.

He kissed her gently, savouring
her, licking the strawberry flavoured gloss from her lips, delving deeper to
get her full taste.

But he couldn’t wait, didn’t want
to wait, his shaft so hard, so urgent, his desire to possess her, to claim her
once more, filling him.

Breaking their kiss, he looked
down at her.  “Now.”

She nodded.

When he started to shift off her,
she grabbed his arms.  “Where are you going?”

“Condom.”

“No need.”  Her cheeks pinkened
enchantingly.  “I’m on the pill now.”

Great news, but… “It’s not fool
proof.”

“Nor are condoms, but does it
matter?”

Her words had his heart picking up
pace in an instant.  “Carly?”

“You want kids one day, Sam, you
said so.  I want kids one day.  We’ll take precautions, but does it matter if
something happens sooner than planned?”

“No.”  Sam thought his heart was
going to burst with joy.  “If the pill doesn’t work, I don’t care.  Do you?”

“No.”  She smiled.  “Let’s
bare-back it, surfie-boy.”

He couldn’t help the burst of
laughter, just as he couldn’t help the huskiness of it, the raw need.

Leaning down, he kissed her again,
deeper, revelling in the taste of her, the sensation of her soft curves beneath
him.

The urgency to be inside her was
tempered with tenderness, the need to go slowly, to savour every thrust into
her tight heat, knowing it was going to last a lifetime.

Carly’s thighs parted willingly,
her moist heat welcoming him, surrounding him as he slid into her tight sheath.

The sensation of her body against
his without any artificial cover was mind blowing.  Closing his eyes, he thrust
slow and deep, the wonder of it filling him.

But he wanted her on this loving
journey, wanted to watch her as she travelled with him.

Opening his eyes he watched,
kissing her gently, claiming her with every tender invasion of her body.  He
saw it all, her darkening eyes, the growing desire, the carnal pleasure that sparkled
deep within, and he felt it match his own.

Even when his tempo changed,
became faster, more urgent, he kept his gaze on her, loving the way her throat
arched, her head back against the pillow, the little sexy whimpers that came
from her mouth.

The build up of heat surged inside
him, his seed gathering, his sac tightening, his shaft throbbing.

He was only a man.  A man making
love to the woman he loved and cherished, and he couldn’t stop his body’s
natural rhythm, his hips moving urgently now as he filled her, took her,
claimed her, played her body as her whimpers turned to cries of prurience.

When he felt his seed start to
come, he took her mouth, plundering deep with his tongue, swallowing her cry as
he erupted inside her.

The primal satisfaction of knowing
his seed coated the walls of her sheath, shot deep, entered her cervix and
beyond, made him grip her hips tight as he gave her everything.

Not caring either way if she got
pregnant.  If a baby came, it was welcome by them both.  If the pill worked,
then he’d simply have her to himself for longer.  But for now, it was just him
and Carly.

And it was her name on his lips
when he shattered in a glorious blaze of ardour.

Hours had passed. Lying in the bed
with Carly nestled against him, so soft and warm and snugly in sleep, Sam knew
he’d never been happier.  He nuzzled the silky hair on the top of her head.
She was his – her laughter, her seriousness, her very being.

SJ jumped on the bed and cuddled
up on her other side.  Sam reached out with the arm lying beneath Carly to pat
the cat, and SJ head-butted his hand before closing his eyes and going to
sleep.

Returning his hand to its previous
position on her shoulder to hold her to him, Sam had to grin when Carly murmured,
and without opening her eyes, she reached groggily behind her, patted SJ on his
flank instead of his head, whispered, “Don’t wake Sam, kitty”, and went right
back to sleep.

Yeah, life was great.  He had his
woman and his cat.  What more could a man want?

The red of the lace nightgown that
he’d thrown on the floor earlier caught his attention.  She’d set out to seduce
him today, and man, had she done an awesome job of it.

Many women had tried to seduce him,
but the only one who had ever effectively done it without trying had been
Carly.  She’d seduced him long before she’d donned the red lace nightgown.

Grinning, he looked up at the
ceiling.

Best seduction
ever.
