With a quick, punishing pace, he thrust hard inside her, his
fingers squeezing the nubbin of her clit and eliciting the most extraordinary
feelings from her. Waves of pleasure crashed through her and, as her senses
blew totally open, she could suddenly feel and sense Matt’s pleasure as well.
She could feel his longing for her and his joy that they were sharing this intimacy.
His thick cock plunged into her, filling her, slick from her
own juices. After a few strokes, she could feel her body blossoming, opening to
let him in deeper, and they both groaned as he sank in to the hilt.
“Please,” she panted, craving everything he could give her.
“Harder, Matt—give me everything.”
With a final twist of her clit, Matt brought his hands to
her hips, lifting her so he could thrust as deeply inside her body as possible.
Clinging to his shoulder, one hand in his soft hair, Kelly tugged on the soft
strands and bit into his bottom lip, hard enough to make him moan but not to
break the skin.
Matt’s face hovered above hers. The midnight darkness of the
sky seemed endless but the tiny twinkling stars and the dappled, mostly hidden
moonlight of the dark evening framed his face in different degrees of shadow.
“You’re perfect,” she gasped as her body tightened and
contracted, squeezing down hard on his thick cock, milking it as her orgasm
started.
Matt bit down on his lip to cut off his cries of pleasure,
burying his head in her shoulder as his body pistoned harder and deeper into
hers, riding through the clenching pleasure of her climax. Before the ripples
had faded, Kelly felt a wave of emotion from Matt slam into her, the searing,
white-hot painful pleasure of climax as he crested and came.
Blinded and winded by the intensity of his orgasm, Kelly
opened her mouth and was about to scream, but Matt covered her mouth with his
and drank down her strangled, muttered cries. His thrusts were erratic, hard
and possessive, and Kelly could feel his pleasure, his powerful satisfaction in
claiming her as his.
Heat filled her womb as Matt’s hot seed shot inside her. On
and on they both came, Kelly’s body milking his cock and Matt thrusting inside
her in shorter bursts now as they wrung themselves dry.
With huge, deep, panting gasps, they sprawled on the grass
together. Their bodies remained intertwined, still intimately connected as they
struggled to catch their breath from such an intense high.
Kelly had no clue how much time passed as they regained
their breath. She turned her head and found Matt already looking at her. She
felt herself blush, a surprising thing considering how intimate they had just
been.
Matt bent his head and captured her lips again. This time,
Kelly could sense the tenderness beneath his hunger, the softness and not just
the hard, hungry, sexual heat that seemed to have been awoken between them.
Slowly, they explored each other’s lips and tongues, toying and playing as they
discovered each other anew.
Kelly’s cheeks warmed as her body heated up from a lovely
slow, sensual arousal and the strong heat radiating from Matt’s body. She had
no idea how much time had passed, his kisses drugging her and fogging her mind.
When he finally pulled away they lay still and sated in each other’s arms.
“Have our uninvited guests departed?” Matt asked, not
sounding in the least as if he cared either way. Recollection flooded Kelly’s
mind and she lifted her head with a short gasp.
Scanning the area, she discovered that the nearby couple had
indeed moved on, and as she sat up she swayed.
“Wow,” she commented, “I’ve never pushed myself that hard
before. But I’m telling you—sex with your senses wide open and jacked up is
incredible.”
Tenderly, Matt assisted Kelly to her feet and with gentle
hands helped her to rearrange her clothing to a semblance of decency. Kelly
helped him to put himself back to rights as well, though her fingers shook a
little too much to manage to buckle his belt back up.
“Sex with you, no matter how it occurs, is intoxicating,”
Matt insisted, then ruined it with a sexy, smug smirk. “But yeah, having our
senses jacked up certainly made it more…memorable.”
Kelly punched him lightly in the shoulder but could not deny
the truth in his words. They held hands once again, fingers twining, and on
unsteady feet they left their nook and returned to navigate their way out of
the enormous, dark gardens.
Out in this elite neighborhood the blocks were long, so
Kelly had figured it safe enough to park at a small row of boutiques, gas
station and convenience stores a couple of blocks away. She figured they were a
safe enough distance and general enough that she and Matt could give any number
of explanations for stopping there tonight that didn’t include breaking and
entering and stealing documents from Mr. Merrick while his party went on around
him.
Drained when they returned, both emotionally and physically,
Kelly sat in the passenger seat for a minute with her eyes closed and tried to
regroup and get her second wind. Matt also appeared exhausted by the
expenditure of his magic, and they sat together in comfortable silence for a
short time, their fingers laced together.
Finally Kelly stirred in her seat and sighed. “We’d better
get moving,” she suggested. “A ritzy place like this will have someone making
the rounds or being a nosy neighbor. We’ll get attention if we just linger here
too long.”
Matt turned the key in the ignition. They pulled on their
seatbelts and he started out of the parking lot. As they headed back in the
direction of the city, Kelly finally turned her mind to what had just happened.
It had been one hell of a night.
“You were right,” she admitted with a smile. She stroked a
few stray tendrils out of Matt’s eyes and brushed his soft, dark hair. He
turned to glance at her, his eyes deep-blue and looking fathomless.
“I’m always right,” he replied, a wicked grin flickering
over his face. “But what particular rightness did I convey this time?”
Kelly snorted and leaned back in her seat as she withdrew
her hand. He grabbed it, brought it to his mouth and kissed it tenderly before
releasing her once again.
“Ego is not an issue for you,” she chided. “Actually I’ve
come to the conclusion that you were right about my thieving. It was just as
exciting to do it with you, and for your team, as it is to do it for my own
reasons.”
Matt’s smile blossomed over his face and seemed to take on a
life of its own. As he drove he shot her quick looks, grinning at her as if he
couldn’t stop. Kelly had to laugh at his obvious eagerness and satisfaction.
“You look like a puppy that’s been promised a treat.” She
snickered. “I’m not saying I’ll join your team just yet. Or the Enforcers. I
like being an Archivist, not just for the contacts and research it gets me but
because the work itself is satisfying to me.”
“I told you, I’m a contractor with the Enforcers myself,”
Matthias replied with a nod of understanding. “I can understand you being
hesitant to jump in with both feet just yet. Besides, there’s no real rush for
you to make a commitment to them one way or the other. Just knowing you’re
seriously considering it is enough for me right now.”
“I’m not saying I want to string you or your team along for
a ride,” she clarified. “I’m interested in seeing this through, absolutely. I’m
involved now and also maybe a little bit intrigued. But I understand how this
works. There’s always another mission, and another one after that. It’s easy to
get sucked in and end up living the life and having nothing else on your plate.
I’m just giving you fair warning.”
They were nearing the outer city limits now and passing a
large park. Matt made a surprising turn and indicated to enter the empty
parking lot to one edge of the grassy area. Playground equipment stood eerily
still in the early morning, appearing strange in the darkness, like structures
at rest before the day began once again.
When he had parked and switched off the engine, Matt turned
to face her and they shared a brief kiss before he took her hands in his
larger, warm ones. He stared at her from the shadows, his eyes roving over her
face.
“I love you for who you are,” Matt started, his tone utterly
serious. “For the way you tilt your head when you think, for the innate sense
of justice you have in your heart, for your desire to balance the scales, even
in the small ways you can do it yourself. I love a thousand other things about
you, and if I described them we’d still be here to see the sun rise over the
horizon.”
She grinned and felt a faint flush cross her cheeks at his
words. She remained silent, however, as he didn’t seem to be finished.
“Ever since I started in the Enforcers, I realized there’s a
large gray area in life. This world isn’t separated into good and bad, black
and white. Working on the Enforcers won’t make you a good person and won’t
change anything about you. That’s not what I’ve been getting at here. I just
honestly thought—and still believe—that it would be an excellent way for you to
retain and use your skills, and possibly for me not to need to bail you out of
a cell one day and hire you a kick-ass lawyer.”
Kelly chuckled and squeezed his hands. Bending over to close
the distance between them, she kissed him, her love bubbling over to the
surface to warm her heart and make her feel connected with this amazing wizard.
“I know, and I love you for that,” she replied. “But
honestly, you’re not browbeating me into anything. I’ve been feeling restless
lately, knowing there was more I could be doing but not sure how to go about
it. I’m starting cautiously, but this might be the answer I was looking for.”
“Besides,” Matt replied with a laugh, “if you do decide it’s
not for you, it’s not as if you don’t have skills to fall back on. But I think
I can keep you entertained—there’s rarely a dull moment around our crew.”
Kelly laughed, more than willing to believe Matt about that.
“I can readily believe it, if this is the kind of trouble
you get yourselves into. Do you think the rest of your team will mind me
tagging along now and then when you need a master thief?”
“I can’t imagine so,” Matt replied. “Which reminds me, I’d
really better update Will.”
“Well, you
have
been a bit busy,” Kelly said with an
impish grin. Matt stroked her cheek and they enjoyed a last few seconds of
blissful intimacy before he chuckled and leaned over her to open the glove box
of the car.
“That’s very true,” he continued as he rummaged in the
compartment. “And chances are he’s already spoken with Julian, and he’s
explained some of what’s been going on. Will is the best team leader I’ve come
across in a long time. He gives us our rope and trusts us implicitly to do our
jobs, which for a team like us is integral to our needs. But even he has his
limits, and I’m probably pushing them right now.”
Kelly watched as Matt shuffled an assortment of things around
the box until finally, with a cry of success, he pulled out a cell phone. He
flipped it open and switched it on, pleased when the device pinged and not only
worked but had a full battery to boot. In the darkness of the car it was easy
to watch the lit screen as Matt opened the address book and scrolled down to
highlight the details of “Capt Will”, then pressed the button to speed dial
him.
Despite the fact it was after two in the morning, the phone
was answered after a couple of rings.
A loud, gruff voice came clearly over the line. “Yeah. That
you, Matt?”
“Yes, Sir,” Matt replied with a humorous look at Kelly.
“Just checking in. We’ve made some progress.”
“You find Shadow?” he demanded. Kelly had already decided
that his blunt manner suited the mental image she had built up from Matt’s
descriptions. She could just picture him sitting behind a desk barking out
orders and commanding a team of thousands. He’d be the perfect general to run
any army—tough but fair, firm but knowing when to give people the freedom to do
what they did best.
“Yes, sir,” Matt answered. “I’ve found her, and better still
we’ve managed to find some leads on the antidote. Rafe Merrick has been either
contacted or he’s part of the group organizing it. He has a shitload of cash
stashed away, which is either proceeds from the first phase of the trials or is
in preparation for investing in the second phase. Possibly both. We have a copy
of an email from an Erik Tien informing him of the beginning of the next phase
and requesting a hundred thousand upfront to be a part of it.”
“Excellent,” Will praised him. “Are you and Shadow on this?
Or should I get Julian to look into Tien?”
“We’ve just…um…visited Merrick ’s place. We’re en route back
to my place and are pretty burned just now,” Matt explained subtly. “Shadow is
on board for now. She seems to want to consult, much as I do, and feel her way
slowly onto the team. We’ll both definitely be up to hunt down Tien, but we
used up a lot of magic and energy tonight. We need a few hours to recuperate before
we bounce back.”
“Take them,” Will insisted. “You deserve it at the very
least. Well done, Matt. I can get Julian to look into Tien’s background after
the sun rises, and you can check in once you’ve both caught a few winks. No
hint of a sample to give the labs, I assume? You’d have mentioned it if you’d
got that lucky, right?”
“No drugs, no. Just the email, but I figured the name and
link would be helpful. I can scan and email over the copy we printed before I
crash back home,” Matt offered. Kelly could hear from the passenger seat the
pleased grunt that came from Will.
“Do that, and thanks for the update. Appreciated. Good
work.”
Matt grinned as he said his goodbyes, then hung up the
slender phone, closing it and turning it off. Magical essence often fried
technology, so the safest way to have items like a cell phone last more than a
few weeks was to keep them turned off. Matt returned it to his glove box and
they put their seat belts back on as he started the car to drive back to his
apartment.
