Dear Readers,
It is hard to believe that
Slow Burn
is my fiftieth book.
I can vividly recall how I felt after publishing my very first novel and how excited I was about becoming a romance author. I made a pledge to myself…and to my readers, to write stories not only about love but also about deep emotions, fulfillment, and commitment. And it seems so fitting that my very first book, and my fiftieth book, are books about the Madaris family.
I never dreamed when I penned Justin and Lorren’s story nearly twelve years ago and introduced the Madaris family for the first time that what I was doing was taking readers on a compelling journey where romance, passion, and true love awaited them at every turn. I had no idea that the Madaris family and their friends would become people you felt like you knew and who you would come to care so much about. The Madaris men have become your heroes because they represent those things you desire—men whose looks can not only take your breath away, but who have the ability to make you appreciate the fact that you are a woman.
I loved writing Slade and Skye’s story and I especially enjoyed getting the chance to revisit with those Madaris men and their friends, as well as introducing you to two additional cousins, Quantum and Jantzen Madaris. My next Madaris book, which will be coming your way in November 2008, will concentrate on rodeo super-star, Luke Madaris. See what happens when Luke meets a woman who becomes the one temptation he can’t seem to resist.
I am proud to announce that all the books in the Madaris Family and Friends Series are being reprinted, starting with Justin and Lorren’s story,
Tonight and Forever
, in December 2007. The reprinted books will have new book covers designed especially for each of my Madaris men in a Special Edition Collectors Series. Now you have the opportunity to collect the entire set.
For a complete listing of all the books in this series as well as the dates they will be available in a bookstore near you, please visit my Web site at—

I want to thank all of you for your support through the years. You are responsible for me reaching this very important milestone in my career. And I want to say in my fiftieth book the very same thing I said in my first book—
“My greatest satisfaction from my writing will come when I know that I have brought a smile to some reader’s face and pleasure to their day through my books.”
All the best,
Brenda Jackson
So I say unto you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you shall find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
