“We sent a couple of demons to investigate, they ran into the Huszar hunting party and...here we are.” He gestured toward the window, now dark and still.
He came over and wrapped him arms around me, stroking my head as I lay against his shoulder. “This means war, I’m afraid.”
He put a finger under my chin, tipped my head back and looked at me with those deep, ageless, beautiful, hypnotizing eyes. “Are you with us?”
I could not leave now. “I am.”

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Michele Drier was born in Santa Cruz, California to a family that migrated west to San Francisco in 1849. Unfortunately, they never found gold, nor did they buy (and hang onto) any California land.

She’s lived in San Francisco, the Bay Area, the Central Valley, the Sierra, Southern California and the North Coast. Her first career was in journalism, and she spent seven years as a staff writer with the San Jose Mercury News. Later, she fell into a career as a non-profit administrator and has always considered non-profit management her passion.

She’s a member of the Society of California Pioneers and Sisters in Crime and lives in California’s Central Valley.

 

OTHER BOOKS
Drier is the author of “Edited for Death,” the first in the Amy Hobbes newspaper mysteries. “Edited for Death” published in trade paperback format by Mainly Murder Press. Edited has been well-received. It was A Memorable Book of 201 on the DorothyL list, was called “Riveting and much recommened” by the Midwest Book Review and Genre Review said “Drier has me watching the bookshelves for the next Amy Hobbes adventure.” It is available in paperback and Kindle format from Amazon
