Pickwick the Parrot:
Charmwill’s mute parrot, enchanted as the Book of Beautiful Lies, holding the true and untold fairy tales within him. He opens up to a knock on his beak:
tic-to-tic-tac-toc
.

Nine
: a cat, one of Loki’s talking animal friends. He usually just wants to sleep somewhere warm.

Mr. Squirrel:
apparently a squirrel; he was saved by Loki repeatedly, and he loves him dearly and usually follows him for no reason. He’d shown some interest in Lucy lately.

Igor the Magnificent:
a shadowy hunchback who asked Loki to come to Sorrow to kill the vampire princess. Usually annoying, has three eyes, and they’re all blind.

Georgie Porgie
: leader of Boogeymen. Looks evil but has a heart of a child, and can’t scare babies, which is his job. Although Loki and his friends liked him, he didn’t help him or stand up for them. Georgie can’t help them so he wouldn’t expose his weakness to his Boogeymen peeps.

Cry Baby
: another boogeyman led by Georgie, always loses at the Baby Tears drinking competition.

Ulfric Moonclaw
: leader of the Bullyvards, Lucy’s boyfriend, hates Loki’s guts. Oh, and he is a werewolf.

Big Bad
: literally the Big Bad Wolf, huge, has a big chest to help him puff and huff, hated Loki and his friends, has an Elvis haircut and long sideburns, and loves to play ‘Pig or Sheep’

Paw Paw
: just as bad as Big Bad, only he has tattoos and earrings.

Managarm
: a wolf who pulls the Queen of Sorrow’s Pumpkin-shaped carriage. He hates the moon and loves chasing it in the sky.

Night Sorrow

Carmen:
Loki’s devoted car. She’s a red 1955 Coupe Deville. She plays music by dead bands that might have never existed according to the atmosphere and what’s going on around her.

The Pumpkin Warriors
: one of Loki’s favorite bands. They like to talk to him and give him a hard time when he cops out. Oh, and you can hear them snoring in the radio when they’re asleep.

Pippi Luvbug
: she liked Loki a lot in Snoring, but turned out to be a demon. Charmwill killed her but it’s not guaranteed she won’t come back.

Donnie Cricketkiller, Beebully, and Beetlebuster
: Loki calls them The Three Blind Mice. They’re vampire hunter rivals who used to bully him in Snoring. Snow White did Loki a favor and killed Donnie in the cellar.

The Tweedle Girls
. Dee and Dum, according to Axel, were friends of Big Bad. They lived a very short life.

Itsy and Bitsy
: Fable’s favorite spiders. One is depressed because he was in love, and he hates Axel, the other is too small to be depressed, he helped Babushka with cooking.

Godmother Justina:
blind mother of justice in the Fairyworld. She has troubles with her scale. Snakes always outweigh apples, but she’s still trying. Her intentions are that everyone sees justice, although she is blind herself.

for some reason, they forged the fairy tales and cursed the fairy tale characters into a Sleeping Death. Their names are Jacob and Wilhelm, and they will appear soon.

Although they have a huge menu, so far we saw Axel and Fable eat the following:

Sticky Sweet Bones
: you have to lick the sweets before you eat the bones.

Tragic Beans
: they will eventually make you cry and laugh in the same time.

Coffinmuffins
: don’t eat the carrot in the muffin.

Poisoned Apples:
kinda gets you high. Because they’re so delicious, you pass out for a minute and then you wake alright. You can grab yourself another one then.

Cinderella Mozerella
: Axel likes these but he hasn’t talked about them yet.

Reluctant Jelly

The Missing Mile

Dragonbreath:
what Charmwill smokes in his pipe. Smoking it isn’t easy. It lets him breathe out fire sometimes.

Buried Moon Cemetery
: myth has it that the real moon is buried there.

The Schloss

Juniper Trees
: spying trees that have eyes.

Rumpelstein High
: the only high school in Sorrow, owned by the mysterious Mr. Rumpelstein. It’s at 1812, in the neighborhood of Nefilheim.

you’d say it’s misspelled but the school thinks it’s a unique name for a library that has dark corridors that lead to another library where you can find un-forged books.

Candy House
: where Axel and Fable live. It’s an awesome house. In case you would like to visit, it’s at Seven Breadcrumb Street.

The Black Forest
: a dark forest where Snow White was born and nothing is as it seems.

The Children of Hamlin
: the kids Charmwill was reading to in the beginning. There’s a lisping girl, a gapped-tooth girl, and adventurous boy. Don’t make fun of them. They’re going to be badass at some point.

Abe Noxious
: Sorrow’s most famous tattoo artist.

Lohr
: a town in Germany that seems to be the family’s origin. It has a caste called the Schloss, and a mysterious history. It’s a true town, like almost everything above. Some people just don’t know it.

Skeliman the Ferryman
(sometimes the Libraryman): although he’s not a place, we decided to mention him here, because we’re not sure if he’s even real. No one knows if he’s a myth, but he scared the skeletons out of Axel, and seems to appear every in the Harum Scarum forum. Hopefully, Loki and his friends will meet him someday.

Author’s Notes:

For the lovely readers who have read The Grimm Diaries Prequels, you might expect to read a lot of notes in this book. Although Snow White Sorrow is full of allusions and secrets, I’d prefer they’d be revealed slowly through the rest of the series. I didn’t want to add a lot of notes and spoil the fun of rereading or discovering them by the readers themselves. So I am only going to mention some facts that don’t spoil anything for the fun of it. I hope you like them:

- The Vampire Craze did happen. People were killed and tortured when they were only ill but thought of as vampires.

- Towns called ‘Hell’ exist everywhere in the world.

- The Great Snoring is the name of a real town, too.

- Lohr is the name of a real town in Germany. If you visit it one day, you’ll see how it’s related to Snow White. It feels like a small fairy tale location. It’s real fun.

- The Schloss is a real castle. It’s located in Lohr, but it’s not that evil in real life—or is it?

- There is no such thing as Sticky Sweet Bones—unless you live in Sorrow, of course.

- The disease that people mistook for vampirism in ancient times was cured by ingesting blood into the liver. This is a true fact. When it was discovered, people thought it was a way of resurrecting those they thought of as vampires so they decided to destroy the liver with the heart to make sure the ‘vampire’ wouldn’t get resurrected.

- Jeanette and Amalie Hassenpflug are the original tellers of the Snow White fairy tale.

- Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm did release the original story of Snow White with the Evil Queen being her mother. They changed it fifty years later, in 1857, to a stepmother. No one knows why for sure.

- In one of Cinderella’s original versions, the pigeons did pick out her evil stepsister’s eyes. Actually, more horrible things happened to their mother.

- Almost all original fairy tales were filled with gore and blood.

- Prince Charming never kissed Snow White in any original version. This is also, a fact.

- Snow White woke up when the piece of apple was pulled out of her throat in the original version.
