Chapter 32

“This feels sooo good!” Lane groaned as Aiden crawled over him and he nodded before his face fell into the corner of Lane’s neck and his body melted over Lane’s. He wrapped his arms around Aiden and thanked God for letting him live to feel Aiden in his arms again. The rest of his body was coming along but for now, he was feeling pretty blessed to have the use of his arms and upper body. He could feel their bed beneath him but his lower body was still sluggish and weak. “I’ve missed being here with you,” Lane breathed against Aiden’s temple before he kissed it and he felt Aiden nod. There was wet heat as Aiden’s tongue slid up Lane’s neck and he almost giggled as he felt goosebumps spread across his skin. Aiden’s teeth dug into his neck and Lane didn’t feel like giggling anymore. “Blake’s across the hall,” Lane reminded Aiden. Not that he wanted him to stop. It had been so long.

“I encouraged him to drink several beers,” Aiden murmured as his lips glided down the center of Lane’s chest before circling his nipple and Lane bit back a groan as Aiden’s tongue flicked at the tip. “I expect him to sleep very soundly. If we’re not too loud, he shouldn’t become aware of what we’re doing,” he said as his tongue lapped at Lane’s skin as he slid lower.

“I’ll try not to be too loud,” Lane whispered then hissed as Aiden’s tongue washed up the length of his very serious erection and Lane’s mouth fell open as he stared blindly at the ceiling. “You know, that first day in the hospital, when I asked how bad it was?” He asked weakly.

“Mmmhmm…” Aiden hummed as his lips closed around the head and luscious heat wrapped around Lane’s cock as he began to suck.

“Fuck!” Lane whispered loudly as his hands cradled Aiden’s head. “Blake’s a grown man, he’ll get over it,” he decided as he felt the head nudge the back of Aiden’s throat.
He
felt it
. “I wasn’t as worried about being able to walk as I was about doing this again,” Lane admitted and Aiden purred softly as he licked his way down Lane’s shaft.

“I would have found a way to work around your disability,” Aiden murmured against Lane’s sack and he groaned loudly. “I’ve wanted to taste this for so long,” he said as he spread Lane’s thighs and he managed a hoarse laugh.

“I’m sure you would have but if I couldn’t feel it…” He mused and Aiden nodded, rubbing his lips against the tender skin under Lane’s balls.

“That would have been really unfortunate,” Aiden agreed before his tongue slid lower and lapped aggressively at Lane’s hole.

“Jesus, Jesus, Jesus!” Lane cried as gripped his cock and stroked. Warmth pooled in his groin and pleasure licked at his nerves as tears filled his eyes. He was encouraged by the way his toes twitched but he knew he wasn’t ready for everything. “Will you fuck me?” Lane asked and he felt Aiden’s lips and tongue slide from side to side before he raised his head.

“I’ve needed you to fuck me for so long,” Aiden said as he rose on his knees and reached for the bedside table. “I can’t wait anymore,” he said as he sat on his heels between Lane’s thighs.

“I won’t be able to do very much,” he warned and Aiden’s eyes sparkled as they met his and a wicked smile curved his lips.

“I’ll find a way,” he teased as he coated Lane’s length with lube and stroked firmly. “Just lay there and let me love you,” Aiden said and there were more tears.

“I love you,” Lane whispered as he reached for Aiden and pulled him over him. “I love you,” he breathed as he stretched toward Aiden’s lips. “I love you,” he sighed into Aiden’s mouth and his tongue twirled lazily around Aiden’s. Lane moaned against Aiden’s tongue and tight, gripping heat wrapped around his cock as he was pulled into Aiden’s body. Aiden sucked on Lane’s tongue before he pushed off the bed and sat up. His hands spread and pushed up Lane’s chest slowly as he sat back, taking Lane to the hilt.

“I love you so much, Lane,” Aiden panted as his head fell back. “You have no idea…” He shivered as he relaxed around Lane then rose with excruciating slowness. “You’re all that matters,” Aiden said softly before he slid back down.

Lane rose on an elbow and pulled Aiden’s lips to his. So many moments with him felt like a gift but every moment they shared after Lane woke up in the hospital was miraculous. He never doubted that he’d walk again and he knew he’d find some way to satisfy Aiden, even if he couldn’t feel it. He fought every day to be the man Aiden deserved because he didn’t know if he’d ever get over how helpless and scared he felt as he laid next to Aiden while he fought for them. Being just aware enough of Aiden and Langley to know that Aiden was struggling and suffering had been torture for Lane. He felt like he failed them and the only regret he had as he slipped away was that he didn’t know if Aiden would make it. So, Lane pushed himself in therapy until he had nothing left because that’s what Aiden did. He vowed that it wouldn’t be long before he made love to Aiden as his hands wrapped around Aiden’s hips and urged him to ride harder and faster.

It was too much. Lane wanted to sob with joy and mindless ecstasy as he watched Aiden arch and bounce over him. He was so beautiful and he
felt
like pure heaven as he clenched tight around Lane. He wasn’t going to last, he could feel the pressure building in his sack and his nerves felt like they could snap at any moment.

“You have to come for me,” Lane begged as his hands closed around Aiden’s erection. “I’m so close but I need you to come for me,” he said as he stroked and Aiden gasped as he fell forward and braced his hands on the bed.

“I’m going to come so hard, Lane,” Aiden whimpered. “There’s going to be so much,” he promised and Lane could feel the pressure driving into his shaft.

“Oh, God!” Lane cried as he pulled faster. “Please!” He moaned as Aiden’s ass slammed into his hips and Lane was nearly out of his mind as Aiden used the bouncing of the mattress to ride him harder and faster. “Oh, fuck! Aiden!” Lane yelled as he tugged at Aiden’s cock. Aiden gasped and his mouth fell open as his head snapped back and his body jumped before he arched and froze. It was the most beautiful thing Lane had ever seen and if he hadn’t been crying already he would have wept at the sight of Aiden, suspended and graceful in the moonlight.

“Lane!” Aiden breathed and his body convulsed as come poured from the head of his shaft and Lane stroked quickly as his fingers greedily gathered as much of Aiden’s come as he could before he shoved them into his mouth. He sucked and the sweet and softly salty taste of Aiden’s come coated Lane’s tongue and his eyes rolled as every nerve in his body flinched then burst as pressure and pleasure exploded in his groin.

“Fuuuuuuuck!” Lane screamed as he bucked off the bed, driving deep into Aiden’s tight heat. “Aiden! Fuck!” He called as he clawed at Aiden’s body and come rushed from his cock and flooded Aiden’s passage.

There were several loud bangs on the door and Aiden and Lane froze.

“For Christ’s sake! Keep it down or I’m calling mom!” Blake yelled and Aiden’s head swung toward Lane. His eyes were wide with fear and shock. Lane laughed as waves of pleasure rippled through his body.

“I’m not even sorry!” Lane said loudly as he reached for Aiden. He pushed his fingers through Aiden’s hair and pulled his lips to his.

“I hate both of you,” Blake complained and a moment later the door to the guest bedroom slammed.

Lane laughed again as his tongue slipped between Aiden’s lips. His brother would get over it. A man only got laid for the first time after nearly dying once in his life, if he was lucky.

Chapter 33

They were in the hospital in the dream and Aiden thought they were still in the house in the city as he waited for his eyes to focus. Their bedroom appeared around him as the fog cleared and he smiled drowsily as he scratched his head then rolled toward Lane. His eyes were open and Aiden raised his head and checked the clock behind Lane.

“Why are you awake? It’s not even 3:00 in the morning,” Aiden said and he saw Lane’s lips curve in the moonlight and joy and warmth burst in his chest.

“I don’t know. Maybe it’s too quiet and too still,” Lane whispered. “It’s weird not hearing a baby cry or someone flushing a toilet in the middle of the night.

“I could flush the toilet if that would help,” Aiden said and Lane laughed softly.

“I don’t need you to flush the toilet. I can fall back asleep, I just wanted to watch you for a little while,” he explained and Aiden grinned as he slid closer and pecked at Lane’s lips.

“I’ve decided that I’ve watched you sleep enough for one lifetime,” he said. “You’re very handsome when you sleep and it makes me happy to see you alive and resting peacefully but I did that for several days and it wasn’t very enjoyable,” he stated as he spread his fingers through the light dusting of hair on Lane’s chest then sighed happily as he shut his eyes.

“You could have left, you know? It would have been ok,” Lane said softly and Aiden’s brows pulled together but he didn’t open his eyes.

“I couldn’t. I was recovering from my injuries and wasn’t discharged until after you woke up,” he murmured against Lane’s lips.

“At the farm, with Langley,” he clarified and Aiden’s eyes snapped open and he looked confused. Lane’s hand curved around Aiden’s jaw as his eyes poured into Aiden’s. “All you had to do was get in the driver’s seat and go, I would have understood,” Lane explained and Aiden shook his head as he scooted back and sat up.

“I didn’t consider that an option,” he said as he twisted his neck, trying to loosen the muscles. He didn’t like talking about what happened in the barn because he didn’t want to see Lane bloody and dying. He felt the bed dip as Lane pushed himself up into a sitting position next to Aiden.

“What you did…” He stopped when Aiden groaned in protest and rubbed the back of his neck.

“It didn’t require any thought. I had to find you,” he said and Lane kissed his shoulder tenderly.

“You had to be terrified and you were in a lot of pain. I think a lot of people would have taken the van and gone for help,” he said and Aiden shook his head again and hated the tightness in his chest and stomach.

“I was only scared because I didn’t know where you were or what condition you were in. If I left, you would have died when he set that building on fire,” he argued and he felt Lane’s lips slide against his skin as he nodded.

“But it would have been ok because you wouldn’t have almost died. You’d be safe,” he said gently and Aiden turned and stared in confusion.

“I wouldn’t be ok. You would be dead, Lane. And Langley would still be alive,” he pointed out and Lane shrugged.

“He would have been stranded at the farm. The police would have searched and found him before he could get very far,” he said and Aiden threw up his hands.

“Maybe but you’d be dead. I don’t know why you don’t see how unacceptable that is,” he whispered loudly and Lane shushed him softly.

“I know and I’m glad I’m not. I just wanted you to know that what you did was incredible and most people wouldn’t have risked their lives like that,” he said and Aiden felt an irrational bubble of anger and panic rising within him.

“I don’t know or care about what other people would or wouldn’t do. I love you and I was more afraid than I’ve ever been in my entire life because I didn’t know if you were dead or alive. I had to find you and do whatever I could to save you,” he whispered loudly and Lane pulled Aiden against him and rubbed his back soothingly.

“I understand. It was hell knowing you were so close and fighting for your life. I couldn’t really make out what was happening and I couldn’t help you. I was scared you were going to die before me,” he said and guilt and anger transformed into physical pain in Aiden’s head and chest.

“You have no idea,” Aiden said. “I was certain you were dead and you can’t begin to understand what that felt like. My life was over and I didn’t care if I woke up,” he explained and Lane groaned.

“I thought I was done when I slipped away. All I wanted was for you to live. I prayed you would live,” he said shakily and Aiden shut his eyes as memories and the truth beat against his ribs.

“I lived,” he breathed and a gasp of laughter burst from Lane.

“Yes, you did and you saved my life. You’re my hero,” he said as he found Aiden’s lips.

“I didn’t do it to be heroic, I did it for myself,” Aiden whispered against Lane’s lips and he felt Lane shrug.

“Whatever. You will always be my hero,” he argued and Aiden sighed in defeat as he turned his body and pushed Lane on his back.

“Fine. I’ll be your hero,” he stated as he covered Lane’s body with his. The solid heat of Lane’s body in his arms was precious and magical. “Can I fuck you?” He asked and Lane hummed happily as his nails grazed Aiden’s back as they drifted toward his ass.

“I think you should,” he purred as he nibbled on Aiden’s lips as his hands closed around the tight globes of his ass.

“And I think you should do a better job at being quiet this time,” he warned and Lane shook his head.

“I can’t promise anything,” he said as Aiden used his knees to push Lane’s thighs wide.

“Your brother is not going to be happy in the morning,” he said and Lane’s chest shook as he laughed.

“I’ll be in bed, I won’t have to see him,” he said and Aiden groaned as his tongue slid along Lane’s jaw until his lips found his ear.

“Just for that, I’m going to fuck you so hard you’ll need to be in this bed tomorrow,” he promised and Lane’s hard-on was hot and hard as it throbbed angrily.

“Fuck, I love you,” he moaned as he pulled Aiden’s groin against his and bucked beneath him.

“You’re my life,” he said as he reached for the lube. He didn’t know if he could ever make Lane understand how true that was but he could fuck the living daylights out of him.

And he did. And Lane was very loud.

Chapter 34

Aiden peeked around the wall and winced when Blake’s eyes met his. He cleared his throat and tugged his t-shirt straight before taking the first step. He quickly jogged down the stairs and offered Blake a stiff nod as he passed him on the way to the fridge. Aiden stuck his head in the fridge and wished it was like the wardrobe in a book he read as a child. He’d climb in and escape out the back.

“Aiden?” Blake said softly and he realized he’d had his head in the fridge, wishing for Narnia, for several moments. He grabbed the juice and decided to try smiling as he stood.

“Good morning!” Aiden said and he knew the smile was a bad call as Blake flinched. “Sorry,” Aiden mumbled as he reached for a glass. He decided his relationship with Blake was established enough that he could be honest. “I don’t know what I’m supposed to do right now,” he admitted and Blake’s cheeks puffed out as he looked at the ceiling.

“The standard thing to do would be to not mention it. Ever. And we just act like none of it happened,” Blake said and Aiden nodded quickly.

“I would really like that,” he said and Blake tilted his head in agreement. Aiden turned from Blake and poured juice into his glass.

“So, how was your night?” Blake asked and Aiden jumped and juice splashed on the counter. He blinked in confusion and jumped again when Blake’s hand closed over his shoulder. “Sorry, I couldn’t resist. I’m totally kidding though. Don’t tell me about your night,” he said and Aiden slowly reached for the paper towels. Once he very thoroughly cleaned the juice from the counter Aiden decided he’d stalled long enough and turned and leaned against it.

“The new nurse will be here tomorrow and Chief and Sandra are bringing lunch and staying for the day,” Aiden said and Blake raised his mug.

“Thank God because I’m kind of ready to get the fuck out of here,” Blake said and Aiden stared into his glass. “But thank you, Aiden,” he said gently and Aiden’s brows pulled together as he looked up at Blake. Blake shrugged as he set down his mug and fidgeted with the strings on his pajama pants.

“I thought we agreed…” Aiden stopped when Blake waved dramatically and shook his head.

“Not that!” He said and Aiden relaxed. “Thank you for being there for Lane. Thanks for making him so happy and saving his life,” Blake said and Aiden nodded. “And I guess, thank you for that,” he said as he gestured toward the bedroom. “I’m sure that was a big deal for him after everything,” he mumbled and Aiden felt his face growing warmer and he had no idea what he was supposed to say or do.

“I like the not talking about it plan,” Aiden said then jumped as Blake’s body slammed into his as Blake’s arms wrapped around him.

“Sorry,” he said as he affectionately clapped Aiden on the back. “You’re kind of awesome and I’m so glad Lane has you,” Blake announced and Aiden heard his juice spilling on the floor but went ahead and patted Blake’s back with his free hand.

“I love him so none of that is difficult for me,” Aiden said as Blake finally released him. “And I’m very happy that you’re my brother-in-law,” Aiden added because he was certain that was the appropriate response. And it was not inaccurate. “I apologize if we made you feel uncomfortable as a guest.” He decided that if Blake could keep bringing it up, he could apologize. Blake waved dismissively.

“It never happened, right?” He asked and Aiden seriously hoped it hadn’t. “And I got a Corvette for my troubles!” He said as he punched Aiden’s shoulder playfully. “I’m going to get ready and head out. I think you guys can hold down the fort until the nurse gets here. Unless you’d like me to wait and make sure she’s qualified,” Blake winked and Aiden assumed he was suggesting he would stay and engage in some sort of sexual behavior with her. He shook his head.

“I’m sure she’s qualified, she’s highly recommended,” Aiden said and Blake shrugged before he ran up the steps.

Aiden shook his head, trying to dismiss the whole episode then cleaned the floor and prepared a mug of coffee for Lane.
