Spring River Valley: The Spring Collection (Boxed Set) (32 page)

“Shut up.” The two words burst out of her between sobs.

His eyes widened. “I’ll go…and I won’t bother you anymore, but I just thought you should—”

“Aiden, for God’s sake, shut up and kiss me already.” Sam jumped into his arms. Without her sling she was able to put her injured arm around his neck and pull him into a startled but desperate kiss. It hurt, but nothing had ever felt so good either.

Aiden lifted her off her feet and spun her once around before breaking the kiss. “So you’re not kicking me out again?”

“I never should have in the first place. I love you. I’ve been in love with you the whole time, but I was afraid to tell you.”

“Why?”

“I didn’t want to lose you. Then I figured I would lose you anyway so— Oh, forget it, just kiss me again and don’t stop kissing me.”

He did as she asked. “So we’re dating now?” he managed to ask between breaths as they made their way to her bedroom.

“I think we’re past dating, don’t you?”

“So we’re engaged?”

“Oops, no. I didn’t mean that.”

“It’s okay if you did. But more importantly, we’re friends, right?”

Sam looked into Aiden’s eyes and kissed him once more before closing her bedroom door behind them. “Yes, we are, and we’re much more than that, too.”
