Stain (King's Harlots MC Book 2) (27 page)

“Do you trust me, baby?”

“With everything in me.”

“Good.” Lifting my arms above my head, he held my wrists with one hand. “Come for me, Hummingbird.” His powerful thrusts took over, leading me to the edge of passion. And when I jumped? He was right there along with me.

EVERY SO
often, Asher and I would pass knowing glances at each other. My cheeks would heat. He would grin. He was quite proud of himself, I might add.

We should have gone to bed, but due to perfect timing, Jay and Angel had appeared and asked us to join them in having a drink.

Luckily, no one had caught us. But the thought of someone walking in on us set my blood on overdrive.

Asher must have caught the look on my face because he leaned over and kissed my neck, inhaling deep.

“Mmm … you still smell like me,” he growled, nipping my skin.

Giggling, I hooked my arm in his, leaning my head against his shoulder. It was nice. It was perfect. I didn’t want it to end but I couldn’t stop the twist of anxiety that something bad was going to happen.

Instead of drudging up those feelings and worrying over something I had no control over, I reveled in the fact that Asher and I were alive. We were healthy. And strong. We had shit to deal with, and we would when we were ready.

“God, you two are worse than us,” Jay teased. “You need to get a room.”

My cheeks heated, but I only smiled.

Asher chuckled, kissing my forehead.

Angel scoffed. “Because that has stopped us before.” He smacked a hard kiss on Jay’s mouth.

She sighed, leaning against him. “I love you, baby, but even
we
have boundaries.”

He raised an eyebrow.

“Hush,” she huffed. “Just go with me on this.”

He laughed.

It was nice seeing them so playful, but I knew something was still there. Something that wasn’t taken care of quite yet.

“Is everything all right?” I asked. Instead, I wanted to scream and ask what they did to that guy. How could Jay let Brogan beat him within an inch of his life? But I didn’t, because a part of me, that deep seeded darkness inside, understood.

“If you’re referring to the bastard we let go, yes, everything is fine.” Jay crossed her arms under her chest.

Angel stiffened, a shadow passing over his face.

“Are you pissed I didn’t stay down there?” Call me a baby, but I felt safer asking that question with the guys around. Angel kept Jay in line. She was hard-headed but with him around, she was easier to deal with.

“No.” Jay sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. “I understand why you left. It’s not like you could have done anything anyway. I also had Max and Creena leave as well. So you’re good.”

“So …
we’re
good?” I asked, my voice weak.

“We will be.”

I nodded. It was all I could ask for.

“Listen, Jay.” Asher rubbed the back of his neck.

“What’s going on?” she asked, looking between him and Angel.

Angel’s brows narrowed. “Yeah, what’s going on?”

“Fuck it. I’m just going to say it.” He cleared his throat. “Coby and I went to see Tyler.” He held up his hand, stopping her. “Charles Brian was there,” he said gently.

“Okay.” Jay took a breath. “What are you telling me?”

“We think Tyler is in on it,” Angel told her. “Or he’s undercover. Who the fuck knows? But we know something is going on.”

“No.” Jay shook her head. “He’s a sadistic fuck, but there is no way … There isn’t. Shit.”

“We wanted you to know so you could be prepared.” Angel leaned forward. “If he is, we will take every step to bring him down. I want you to know that.”

She took a breath and another, rubbing her hands down her face. “I shouldn’t be surprised. No matter what happened.”

“Well, Coby and I were surprised to see him,” Asher told her.

“I’ll have to talk to my dad. Fuck. I do not want them here. I’m don’t want to deal with their shit.”

Angel leaned down to her ear, whispering something only she could hear.

She nodded, swallowing hard. “Thank you for telling me, Asher,” she said a moment later.

“You’re welcome.” He paused. “We will put an end to this. Maybe not tomorrow. Maybe not next year. But together, we will bring them down.”

Her gaze moved back and forth over his face. “I like you.” She looked at Angel. “I like him.” And then she looked at me. “Keep him.”

I smiled.

“So,” Jay waved a hand in front of her. “Is this a thing now?”

Thankful for the change in subject, I looked up at Asher. Not really sure how to respond to that question, I kept my mouth shut. We had been battling back and forth whether to make it official or not. He wanted to wait. I didn’t. At first, it was because we were best friends, but now, I needed him more than I needed my next breath. Maybe for some it was too soon but Asher and I had known each other for years. It made sense for us to be together. It just worked.

“That’s up to my Hummingbird,” Asher said, brushing his thumb along my bottom lip.

“Hummingbird?” Jay’s eyes twinkled. “That’s so romantic.”

“All right,” Angel interrupted. “Who the hell are you, and what have you done with my girlfriend?”

“What? It’s sweet. I like the pet name, and I think it’s adorable.” Jay playfully smacked him in the chest. “Why don’t you call me something like that?”

“I call you princess.”

“But I’m
not
a princess.”

“And she’s not a Hummingbird,” Angel shook his head. “Geeze, woman.”

She laughed. “I’m just saying. It’s cute.”

Angel wrapped an arm around her shoulders. “I think you need to go to bed.”

“I’m not tired.”

“I said, you need to go to bed,” he repeated, slowly.

Her cheeks flushed. “Right.” Turning to us, her gaze landed on me before sliding to Asher’s. “Take care of her.”

He nodded. “Always.”

When they left, Asher and I were alone. We had been alone a lot but it was different. He had just said that it was up to me if our relationship was official or not. How could I make that decision by myself? We needed to do it together. It was the only way.

Asher cleared his throat and slid out of the booth, holding his hand out to me. “We need to head back to my place.”

Placing my hand in his, I let him pull me to my feet. “Are we meeting with Charles again?”

His jaw clenched. “He’s been calling my phone. I’m sure he’s pissed that I punched the shit out of Tyler.”

“So what are we going to do?”

“Go home. Get some sleep and meet up with him tomorrow. I’ll drive my truck, and you bring your bike just in case.” He kissed me softly on the mouth. “I don’t want you to be stranded at my place if something comes up.”

I nodded. “Okay.”

We headed outside. A sense of relief washed over me at the mere sight of my bike.

She was black with pearl white flames flowing off of it like molten lava. It had been forever since I rode her. The urge to let her take me away was strong. With the wind in my hair, the sun on my face, and the rumble of the engine between my thighs. It was an addiction. Almost like sex. Except when it came to Asher, nothing was like it had been with him. He was the undoing to my suffering. Every time, he took me out of my head until we were one.

Although he had given me the choice on if we should continue or not, a part of me felt like he had already made his decision. But I wasn’t sure what it was. Until he looked at me. Really looked. He had been the only one who could see into my soul. He knew my darkest dirtiest thoughts. He knew my thoughts before they formed into words on my tongue.

Asher came up behind me, placing his hands gently on my shoulders. Leaning down to my ear, a soft growl rumbled from his chest. “I plan on fucking you on that beautiful machine.”

A smile tugged at my lips, a soft tingle hitting me straight in the groin. “I look forward to it.”

(Asher)

Needing to stop to run an errand, I had Meeka meet me at my place. As much as I didn’t want to let her go, I had to stop and get some food or else all of our fucking would make us wither away. She didn’t know it yet, but I planned on being inside of her until we had to meet Charles the next day. It was the only way I could remain calm. The inherent need to destroy everything in my path put me on edge. I lost my footing and almost tripped several times before thoughts of Meeka forced their way into my mind. It was because of her I never went back to that dark place.

When I pulled into the local grocery store, my phone dinged.

Meeka: I’m at your place.

Me: Good girl.

Meeka: Want me to cook something for supper?

My cock hardened.

Me: No. I want you naked and spread open for me.

Meeka: Where?

Fuck me, she knew me well.

Several locations came to mind but walking into my house and her being the first thing I saw was better.

Me: On the floor in the living room. I want your skin red with my marks after I take you hard.

When she didn’t respond right away, I moved to get out of the truck just as another ding sounded from my phone.

If my dick was a fucking cannon, it would have exploded. Meeka stared up at me from the phone, all in her naked beauty. Ready. Waiting. For me.

PAIN. SO
much pain. It squeezed my soul, breaking me down until I was nothing. I didn’t belong. The nightmare my step-father left me in closed in around me. Suffocating me until all I could feel was the heavy weight on my chest.

All of these women and I couldn’t save one. Not a single soul left those buildings alive.

The trenches I had pounded my way through grew every few feet. My mind was spinning, the world tilting on its axis. Confusion coursed through me. Where was I?

Dark shadows zeroed in and around me. My brothers. Vice-One. Sworn to protect. Sworn to do anything we could to complete the task. But no matter what I did, I couldn’t save myself.
