Submission Becomes Her
Josie Roberts has a secret fantasy. She wants to be dominated, to feel owned by a
man in the bedroom while being his complete equal outside of it. Finding that man has been difficult, however. But then she meets “Sir Dom” in an online BDSM chat room.
After weeks of cyberspanking, Josie and her online Dom are ready for the real thing, so they agree to meet in person.
When Josie arrives at the restaurant, she’s stunned to discover “Sir Dom” is none
other than her ex-boyfriend Gavin Elliot. He’s gorgeous, but when it came to sex he was about as vanilla as a man could get. Or so she’d always thought.
Gavin had kept his fantasies of dominating a woman in the bedroom a secret. Now
he’s going to live out every fantasy he’s ever had by tying Josie up and spanking her until she begs for more.

Josie Roberts couldn’t believe she’d agreed to go on a real, live, honest-to-goodness date with the man who’d been spanking her for the past eight weeks. Well, he hadn’t spanked her for real, only online. But it had been more erotic than anything she’d ever experienced.
She met Sir Dom in a spanking chat room a few months ago and the two of them
had immediately clicked. Probably because he was so naturally dominant and she was so naturally submissive. Talking in the chat room had quickly progressed to emailing each other and chatting on Yahoo! Messenger.
The conversation had flowed even more easily away from the chat room, and Josie
found herself opening up about past relationships and how they hadn’t worked because the men she’d dated hadn’t been into the whole dominant/submissive lifestyle. Sir
Dom admitted that was the main reason things with his previous partners hadn’t
worked either. Josie felt herself falling for her cyberdom even more when he described the kind of woman he was looking for—one who enjoyed being submissive and getting
spanked in the bedroom, but who was his complete equal outside it. While she liked having her ass warmed in conjunction with a little bondage and discipline, she wasn’t into serious domination. Outside the bedroom, she was her own woman with her own
opinions and had no desire to have anyone tell her what to do.
It was then she realized how much she and Sir Dom had in common in addition to
their love of spanking. They went to see the same kinds of movies, watched the same shows on television and loved the same sports. They even frequented the same
restaurants. That last one was how she figured out he lived in the same city she did.
When he’d named a locally owned restaurant, she automatically asked him if he lived in Savannah. It was only afterward that she realized he might not want to reveal

personal information. They used screen names on the forum, after all. But she was
surprised when he answered without hesitation, saying that yes, he lived in Savannah too.
While Josie had secretly fantasized about the possibility of them getting together she honestly hadn’t expected him to ask her—very casually—if she’d like to have
dinner with him. She’d thought about it for half a second, then quickly typed her
answer—yes. It was probably a little reckless, but her heart told her to go for it.
Although she’d been thrilled about finally meeting him in person, she still wanted to approach their date safely, so she suggested meeting at the restaurant on the
Riverfront they’d talked about. They also agreed on some basic ground rules. They’d have dinner first and if it turned out they were wrong about their apparent connection, then they’d both walk away. No commitments or regrets. Josie didn’t think she needed to worry about that. Something told her Sir Dom was the man she’d been waiting for her whole life.
Josie took out her compact and checked her makeup one more time. No mascara
smudges under her eyes or lipstick on her teeth and thanks to her leave-in conditioner, her long, brunette hair hadn’t given in to the early-evening humidity and frizzed out.
Now if only her nerves would calm down. Her heart was racing a mile a minute.
Hoping a glass of liquid courage might help, she put her compact back in her purse and went into the restaurant.
She was a little early but since she and Sir Dom had decided to meet in the bar
anyway, she wasn’t worried about missing him when he got there. Of course, it would be nice if she knew what he looked like. They hadn’t exchanged pictures so all she knew was that he was tall with dark hair and brown eyes. And that he’d be drinking one of those fancy microbrewery beers called Condor Mountain.
The restaurant’s hostess greeted Josie with a smile as soon as she walked in. “One for dinner?”

Josie returned the woman’s smile. “I’m meeting someone, so I’m just going to wait
in the bar.”
Josie did a quick scan of the drinks on the bar, hoping to see a bottle of Condor
Mountain, but there wasn’t one in sight. Her gaze went to the men next. There were a few blonds, several with gray hair and two with dark hair. She couldn’t see their faces from where she was standing, though. She ventured closer so she could get a better look only to stop in her tracks when she realized that one of the dark-haired men standing there was her ex-boyfriend Gavin Elliot.
Damn.
With all the restaurants in Savannah, he had to pick this one.
Maybe he wouldn’t see her. But that hope was dashed as he turned to glance her
way. Surprise flashed across his ruggedly handsome face.
Double damn.
Josie groaned. She supposed it was too late to pretend she didn’t see him. If it was any consolation, he looked as uncomfortable with seeing her as she did him. Awkward.
It wasn’t that their relationship had ended badly. After dating for several months, they’d both simply come to the conclusion there wasn’t any chemistry in bed or long-term potential out of it. The realization had bummed her out, especially since Gavin was so dang hot. But he was too vanilla for her.
Deciding it would be best to get it over with, Josie pasted a smile on her face and walked over to him. “Long time, no see, huh?”
She cringed inwardly at the cliché. That was the best she could come up with? Talk about lame.
“Yeah, it has.” He took in her short, curve-hugging sleeveless dress, his mouth
lifting into a smile. “You look great.”
“So do you.”
To be honest, he looked better than great. Dressed in a pair of khaki pants and a
button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled up to expose his nicely muscled forearms, he 8

looked good enough to eat. And his voice, which she’d always thought would be
perfect for giving orders, was just as sexy as she remembered. God, she really wished things had worked out with him.
“Are you here for dinner?” he asked.
“I’m meeting someone. A blind date, actually.”
“No kidding? Me too.”
She blinked. “Really? How’s that for coincidence?”
He looked like he was about to reply, but the bartender interrupted before he could say anything.
“Your bottle of Condor Mountain, sir,” he said to Gavin before turning to her.
“Anything for you, ma’am?”
Josie must have stared at the bottle of beer in front of Gavin for a full minute before she realized it was the same beer Sir Dom told her he’d be drinking.
Another coincidence, she was sure.
Abruptly aware that the bartender was still waiting for her order, she turned her
attention back to him. “I’ll have an appletini, please.” Her gaze went back to the beer in front of Gavin. “When did you start drinking that fancy microbrewery stuff?”
“A few weeks ago.” He wrapped his hand around the bottle, brushing his thumb
over the embossed logo on the label. “A buddy of mine introduced me to it.”
Josie nodded. She’d remembered reading somewhere that microbrewery beer was
very popular now. The fact that the restaurant kept this particular brand in stock obviously meant a lot of their clientele drank it.
The bartender returned, placing her drink in front of her. “An appletini for the
lady.”
“Thank you.”
She picked it up and quickly took a sip. When she set it down, it was to find Gavin regarding her thoughtfully. Or more precisely, the drink she’d ordered.

“So, this blind date,” he said. “Did a friend set you up?”
“No. I met him online.” Josie gave him a sheepish look as she reached up to tuck
her hair behind her ear. “I know it sounds crazy, but we immediately clicked.”
Gavin took a swig of beer. “I don’t think it’s crazy at all. I met my blind date online too.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. Like you said, we immediately clicked.”
“Wow. What are the chances, huh?”
“My thoughts exactly.”
Of its own accord, Josie’s gaze went to the bottle of beer again. The bottle of Condor Mountain beer coupled with the fact Gavin was there to meet a blind date was simply too much of a coincidence. But there was no way her very vanilla ex-boyfriend could be the dom of her dreams.
She lifted her gaze to meet his. The look in his dark eyes told her he’d put the blind date and the appletini she told Sir Dom she’d be drinking together and was thinking the same thing about her.
“When you said you’d met him online, was it on a dating site or in a chat room?
Gavin asked.
“In a chat room.” She wet her suddenly dry lips. “You?”
“A chat room.”
Okay. The microbrewery beer, the blind date and now, the chat room. There was no
such thing as that much coincidence.
“Oh God,” she breathed. “You’re Sir Dom, aren’t you?”
