DEDICATION

This book is dedicated to two very amazing women.

To My Best Friend Jean

I thank God every day for bringing you into my life. I have never had such a trusting and loyal friend or a friend who willingly accepts me just the way that I am. You are always there for me in both the good times and the not so good times. I couldn’t have written this book without the support that you have given me.  Although you could have told me I was crazy to embark on this journey, you only supported me and encouraged me to pursue my dreams. Thank you for being the best friend anyone could ever ask for.

To My Dear Friend Leslie

Little did I know when we struck up a conversation online one Saturday morning about seven months ago, that you would become such an amazing friend.  You have always been there to listen to me, to support and encourage me and to answer my countless questions about writing this first book.  I really could not have made it this far without you.  Then to be blessed with such a wonderful friend...I couldn’t ask for more.  Thank you for being such an incredible friend.

Prologue

“Whoa...look at you man!  You meeting your girl this afternoon Gunner?” Lock asked.  “You’re all spit shined and polished,” he said.

“She’s not my girl...yet,” replied Gunner with a huge smile.  “I’m not sure how, but I’m gonna make it happen.  I want her like I’ve never wanted a woman before.”

“How are going get rid of Tommy?” his friend asked.  “I mean I can’t imagine a girl like her getting with him in the first place.  She just doesn’t seem like she’d fit with his type.”

“You mean the biker type--like us?” he questioned Lock with a scowl on his face.  Jackson McKay, aka
Gunner
, was the president of The Black Maverick’s Motorcycle Club.  He’d been around the club all his life.  His late father had been the president before him.  Aiden Lachlan, or
Lock
as he was known in the club, was his sergeant-at-arms and they had been friends since they were just toddlers. Just like Aiden’s father Allister,
Tank
, was the previous sergeant-at-arms for Gunner’s father.

“Come on man. You know I didn’t mean it that way,” he quickly answered Gunner.  “Tommy is nothing like us.  You think she knows about all the illegal shit Tommy and his club are into?”

“I can’t believe that she does because she’s the most honest, hardworking, beautiful soul I’ve ever been blessed to meet,” Gunner told him.

“So are you planning on educating her on what Tommy and The Red Aces are into?” Lock asked.

“No.  I want her to be with me because she wants me and not because she’s running from Tommy or his Tommy’s club.  I think she already wants me anyway,” he smiled.  “She’s just afraid of what she’s feeling and if I know anything about her, she’s probably feeling guilty about it,” he said.

“I hear you, but what are your plans then?” Lock asked.

“I’m just going to play it cool and let nature take its course.  She can’t resist me for long,” he laughed.

Jackson unrolled the blueprints and plans for
Sweet Charity’s
out onto the small conference room table, in preparation for his meeting with the restaurant’s owner, Charity Spencer.  He was meeting with her this afternoon to finalize the plans for the expansion of her restaurant.  Recently, the space beside her current small cafe had become available and she purchased the building to expand her business.

Jackson usually stopped by Sweet Charity’s every morning, either on his way to the office here, or to his current job site, depending on his schedule.  Charity made the best muffins, biscuits, donuts, cookies, cakes, tarts, you name it.  If it was baked, hers were the best treats he’d ever tasted.  They served breakfast sandwiches made using Charity’s freshly baked biscuits which Jackson found himself eating nearly every weekday morning, as they were so delicious. Sweet Charity’s also had the best coffee in town.

Currently the cafe was just that, a small cafe with only about a dozen seats, unless it was the summer season, when it’s owner set up a few bistro tables and chairs on a small sidewalk patio. Because it was a small space, the kitchen space was therefore also small limiting the menu and Charity wanted to be able to prepare and serve more food choices.  She wanted to serve more lunch options, and then, perhaps in the future, dinner, depending upon the success of the expansion.

Jackson knew that the expanded operation of Sweet Charity’s would be a success, if not because of the delicious food already served, then for the fact that everyone in town loved Charity.

Jackson heard the front door to the office open followed by Charity’s melodic voice call out his name.  “Mr. McKay? Hello! Mr, McKay are you here?” she asked.

For a second, Jackson stood there with a stupid grin on his face.  Then he caught himself and, clearing his throat, he called out to her, “I’ll be right out Ms. Spencer, on my way.”  Really, he didn’t know what the hell happened to him when he was around Charity.  He just felt different, happy, lighter somehow.

He walked around the table and out the door of the conference room towards the open office area of his construction company.  There, just inside the door, stood Charity Spencer.  She was gorgeous.  She had dark brown hair and the prettiest green eyes he had ever seen. Her pink lips...fuck her lips! He wanted to taste them so badly.  He guessed she was probably six inches shorter than him, but today she stood taller in her spiky black heels.  She wore a black pencil skirt and an emerald green tank top that made her tits look just the perfect size for his hands. Her legs looked phenomenal and her smile could set the strongest man on his ass with just one glance.  Jackson could feel his cock swelling as he stood there and for a minute he couldn’t move.

“Mr. McKay, is everything okay?” she asked him.

“Ah...ya, yes I’m just fine,” he said as he once again cleared his throat.  “I was just setting things up for our meeting.  Why don’t you head on into the conference room and I’ll be right in,” he said.  After watching her walk past him and through the doorway beyond, Jackson gave his head a shake because the smell of her soft perfume was making his cock ache even more.  After a few more deep breaths, and trying to calm his raging hard-on he walked to the front door and locked it.  He didn’t want any interruptions this afternoon while he and Charity finalized the plans for Sweet Charity’s.

A few minutes later, he entered the boardroom and there, standing bent over the table looking down at the plans, was Charity.  She was in profile to him, as he walked into the room, and her ass was outlined to perfection in that sexy pencil skirt.  He had to take a deep breath before he could say anything.
