Aunt Titania, who acted as a surrogate mother, had been nothing but gracious, welcoming her into the family. She helped Danielle fit in as the only non-shifter in the clan. Danielle was grateful. She hadn’t expected her soon-to-be aunt-in-law to be that nice. She was used to the haughty demeanor from Brian’s grandmother and thought all in-laws were the same. When her mom met the Edwards for the first time, she and Aunt Titania immediately clicked. Danielle suspected that the two were BFFs now.

“You are beautiful,” said her mother. “I wish your dad could see you now.”

“I wish my sister Marissa could see you, too. She would love you, she would.” Aunt Titania
dabbed her eyes with a tissue.

Danielle could only offer a grin.

The door opened and Collin swept in. He took one look at her and beamed widely. “Dane is one lucky son of a bitch. You’re so beautiful, Danielle. The most beautiful bride I’ve ever seen.”

“Thank you.” Collin knew how to put on a perfect façade in public.

“Are you ready?” he asked.

She nodded.

He offered his arm. “Then I shall take you to him. Everybody’s waiting.”

She took Collin’s arm and adjusted her dress. She was ready to walk the aisle. Kate gave her the bouquet.

“Yeah, let’s do this! Let’s get you hitched!” Kate cheered. Everybody laughed.

Yes, let’s do this
. Danielle walked beside Collin, every step she took felt like a dream. Closer to her destiny. Happiness.
