Taming the Raven's Son (Galactic Lust) (18 page)

“Heat?” Sage exclaimed. “No. Impossible!”

“It seems as though our friend sowed some wild oats in his
youth,” Jacob said. “Despite his young age at the time, he must’ve known
better. Regardless, I’m sure my father won’t hang him.”

His father cleared his throat. “Only because you can vouch
for his honesty since he’s been with you.”

“So, Father, what do you have in store as a punishment?”

“He’s already been transported to another ship in the fleet.
He’s en route to Earth. His task should prove interesting. He need only find
and convince a scientist to accompany him to Prevelor. The president has given
orders to build a facility to not only refine the sedious, but to
manufacture the cast serum as well. Under your betrothed’s studious eye, of
course.”

“So Heat will join us?” Sage asked. After the short time on
the outpost, she couldn’t imagine Prevelor without him.

“If he’s successful in completing his task,” his father
replied. “Victoria Duvall’s a critical element in ensuring the venture on
Prevelor is successful.”

“Then Heat will find her and bring her.” Sage stroked
Jacob’s arm. “I would bet he won’t take no for an answer.”

The smile on her future husband’s face as well as the
glimmer in his eyes demonstrated a facet of Jacob she’d yet to witness. It
amazed her how the strictly business, intense Domineer Raven male had managed
to transform into a gentle, happy, completely polite member of this structured
and ordered society.

I wonder what tamed my Raven man?

She smiled under his scrutiny. She’d helped bring him back
from the savage place he’d gone when preparing for the final battle. Perhaps
his mother’s presence had also swayed him. Regardless, she could look forward
to many more nights under his skilled discipline.

Chill bumps rose on her skin as her pussy creamed in
anticipation. Jacob placed his arm around her, escorting her from the room.

“That didn’t go too badly, Jacob.”

“No,” he said staring straight ahead.

“Then what’s wrong?”

“Nothing now that you’ve agreed to marry me. In fact, most
of my troubles lie behind me.”

“Then, pray tell, why are you frowning?”

“Just pondering our sleeping arrangements.”

She glanced around to ensure no one could hear them.
“Together. Right?”

“For a night filled with gentle touching and exploration.”

“Sure, and um, some discipline works for me too.” She
stopped in the middle of a deserted corridor. “They don’t use cameras in the
rooms, do they?”

He stroked her shoulder and smiled. “What happens behind
cabin doors stays strictly between the occupants.”

She raised a brow. The possibilities were endless.

“However, we’ll refrain from the rougher side for a time.”

“Why?”

“Our child might not appreciate the screaming of his mother,
even in the throes of extreme pleasure. You’re very vocal, my dear.”

“No,” she said before gasping. “I was injected. You’re
wrong.”

“I too was temporarily sterilized. It seems the Raven in me
overrode some pretty reliable remedies for preventing pregnancy. We’re
expecting a son, Sage.”

“A Domineer, Raven, hunter, business-minded male?” Her
cheeks chilled as the color drained from her face.

“Sage?” Jacob grabbed her arms.

She waved her hand dismissively and forced a smile. “How
soon?”

“According to the medical unit, if you carry him full term,
we’re looking at eight months.”

“I’ll become a mother?”

“Are you worried?”

She drew a few exaggerated breaths to calm herself. “Not
with you by my side. We’ll be fine.”

“We’ll be amazing, Sage. We’ll have our own small rock,
privacy, all while you test your business skills without the influence of
figureheads.”

“What about the Governance?”

“If we remain honest and do the right thing, we won’t even
know they’re around.”

“What about your parents?”

“They’re aware of our son. My mother wouldn’t leave your
side while you remained in medical. In fact, she’s the one who told me.”

“Is that why your father was so angry?”

He placed his arm around her as they walked. “He was most
concerned you wouldn’t agree to the marriage. You see, I believe he was already
devising a way to jail you had you said no.”

“No!” she exclaimed.

“I’m pretty sure he would have. As he ages, family seems to
be more and more important to him. After losing me for a time, I think he might
go to extreme measures to keep his grandson close.”

“Did he persuade the president to go along with this
arrangement just to keep tabs on you?”

“Probably.”

“He has that much influence with him?”

“Undoubtedly. He married the president’s daughter.”

She turned abruptly to face him. “And you’re his grandson?”
She shook her head. “What have I gotten myself into?”

After kissing her, he replied, “A light round of punishment
if you impede our progress again. Walk, woman.”

She turned and stepped into stride with him, smiling all the
while. “I thought that type of thing was off limits for some months to come.”

“You misunderstood. Some light discipline should be fine. I
just need to control your orgasms. We’ll need to temper the degree of them for
a while.”

“Well, Jacob, you could surely try.” She chuckled when Jacob
laughed. Her statement was as good as a threat. That’s how she’d meant it. He
might as well realize she would never be a typical meek. Not even if she
possessed the most caring, handsome and honest Master in the universe.
