Shooter grinned. “You heard the lady. She’s sure and I’m sure as hell more than ready to do the Texas Two-step.”

Wes dipped his head once. “All right, then. Let’s dance.”

Chapter Six

Maryann had joked that there was nothing like a cheating fiancé to sober a girl up, but the truth was, the two cowboys who were each pulling off one of her boots as she sat on the edge of the bed were doing a bang up job of clearing her head. She’d never been more clear, or nervous, in her life.

What the hell had she gotten herself into?

When Shooter pulled her by both hands and hauled her against his body, then pressed his mouth against hers, she began to stop thinking and just felt—the hard length of him pressed into her belly, the lean, strong muscles in the arms he wrapped around her.

Wes’s arms wrapped around Maryann from the back. He guided her cardigan down her arms. Working together with Wes like a coordinated team, Shooter leaned back and pulled her T-shirt up and over her head. He dropped it onto the floor and then ran his hands from her waist, up to her bra. With a grin, he reached back and unsnapped it quicker than she could have herself.

At the same time, Wes had unzipped her jeans and pushed them down her legs. The feel of his warm, rough hands against the bare skin of her thighs sent a shiver through her. He helped her step out of the trousers on the floor.

In nothing but underpants and socks now, she was becoming naked very fast, and without any help on her own part. The two Texas cowboys were taking care of it all for her. “You two work well as a team.”

Shooter laughed but never stopped his caress, which had moved to her breasts. “We almost were. Wes and I tried team roping for a bit.”

“We do better tie-down roping.” Wes, pressed against her back again, spoke close to her ear. The heat of his breath sent another inexplicable shiver through her.

She felt Wes’s bare skin against hers. Then she felt something else pressing against her and realized he was totally naked and more than ready to
dance
, as he’d said before. The thought had her mouth going dry. Or perhaps it was just that the adrenaline had burned all the alcohol out of her system. She’d become very sober very fast. She wasn’t sure that was a good thing considering.

Shooter tilted his head and ran his lips over her neck, alternating between kisses and bites. His mouth worked on the opposite ear from where Wes had paused to nibble on her lobe.

“I didn’t know what you two did in the rodeo.” It must be the proper British manners instilled in her since birth that made Maryann feel she needed to keep up polite conversation, even at a time like this.

“We’ll show you in a bit, darlin’. I’ve got a piggin’ string laying around here somewhere. I’ve had some mighty fun times with a piggin’ string, both in and out of the arena.” Shooter said the words against her ear, before he pulled back. “But right now, I’m woefully overdressed.”

As Shooter began to tear off his boots and clothes, Wes took care of the few garments Maryann had left. Then she stood before them, in a room much too brightly lit for her taste, as naked as the day she was born.

Wes turned her to face him, and his gaze dropped to take her all in. She felt her cheeks heat. He smiled and his eyes focused on hers. “You’re so beautiful.”

“No, I’m not—”

“Shh. You are.” The way Wes looked at her, she almost believed him.

“Listen to him, darlin’. Wes don’t lie about anything.” Shooter was behind her now, as hot and naked as Wes was in front of her. “And he’s certainly not lying about this. You are beautiful.”

His hands settled on her waist, just as his erection pressed against her bottom. He wasn’t shy about using it as he worked it between the bum cheeks and used the smooth tip to stroke her intimately. She let out a tiny moan, totally uncharacteristic of her usual silence during sex. Though she’d never had sex like this before. Not even close.

Wes cupped her face in his hands and leaned in to kiss her softly, then more insistently. He pulled back and drew in a deep, ragged breath. “Damn, I want to be inside you.”

The pure desire radiating off Wes made her chest feel tight. “Then don’t wait.”

With a nearly feral growl, Wes wrapped his arms around her and lifted her off the floor.

She squealed as Wes spun her around and headed for the bed, carrying her. “I’m too heavy.”

“You truly don’t know what we do for a living, do you?” Shooter followed them. “We pick up and throw two-hundred and fifty pound calves to the ground.”

In spite of the fact a very nude and aroused man had just picked her up and thrown her onto a mattress where the two of them were about to make love to her, Maryann still was amazed by that. “Really? That’s what you do?”

Wes raised his head from where he’d been just about draw one of her nipples into his mouth. The sight of him, blue eyes staring up at her, his tempting lips hovering just above her naked breast, took her breath away. “How can you not know what tie-down ropers do? I thought Ellen said you watched rodeo.”

“I’ve only been able to find professional bull riding on television where I live. Not all the other stuff.” As Wes kneeled over her legs and Shooter crawled onto the bed next to her, Maryann was done caring about this conversation. “Can we talk about this later?”

“Much later.” Shooter grabbed her face. He turned it toward him and claimed her mouth at the same time Wes sucked her nipple between his lips. She drew in a sharp breath and Shooter broke the kiss and smiled down at her. He ran the tip of his finger over her lower lip. “I wanna slide inside that beautiful mouth of yours. Can I?”

Heart pounding, she nodded.

“Scoot down a bit.” Shooter had barely made the request when Wes grabbed her hips and slid her down the bed. Shooter laughed. “Thanks, bud.”

“No problem.” Wes looked less jovial than his friend. His expression was totally serious as Shooter repositioned himself so he was kneeling, straddling her torso. “Hold up, Shooter. Before you get too involved, where you keep your stash?”

“Nightstand.” Shooter reached down and pulled open a drawer in the table next to the bed. He reached inside and grabbed a small packet and tossed it to Wes, who caught it one handed.

Maryann found it hard to breathe as she watched the exchange. This was going to really happen. Worse, she really wanted it to. Did that make her a whore?

“I’ve never done anything like this before,” she blurted out before things went any farther.

Shooter shook his head. “I never for even one minute assumed you had.” He reached down and ran a hand over her face. “That’s what makes it all even better.”

Feeling moderately relieved they didn’t think she made a habit of acting like a tart, Maryann reached for Shooter and slid all of him into her mouth. He hissed in a breath and grabbed the headboard for support. Then it was her turn to try and catch her breath as Wes went to work.

Wes ran his hands between her thighs, spreading them wide. She felt those big strong hands that could throw down a calf nearly twice her size gently spread her, teasing, torturing. He slid one finger in. Barely able to concentrate on what she was doing with her mouth, she bore down and gripped Wes’s finger inside her, not wanting him to ever leave.

When the hot, wet flat of Wes’s tongue touched her and he began to work one sensitive spot, she gasped so hard she coughed.

Shooter pulled out. “I’m sorry, darlin’. Are you okay?”

“It wasn’t you. It’s Wes.” She could barely get out the words because Wes hadn’t stopped the way Shooter had. Instead, he concentrated more effort with both his hand and mouth until she was gasping. She reached for Shooter again, but he shook his head. “I can wait. Enjoy yourself first.”

Maryann couldn’t be certain she actually responded to the patient cowboy who was willing to wait for his own pleasure so she could have hers. Shooter was using one hand to knead her breasts while stroking himself with the other but she could barely think past the sensations assaulting her thanks to Wes. Before she knew it, her hips were off the bed and there were noises coming out of her mouth she’d never even imagined. She bit her lip in an attempt to stay quiet, until Shooter’s thumb stroked across it.

He leaned down. “Don’t. We like our women loud here in Texas. Especially at times like this.”

It was no use. She gave up trying to control herself. An orgasm stronger than she’d ever experienced ripped through her, sending her hips bucking against Wes. He rode it out right along with her. Shooter did too, as he stroked himself faster and watched her face as she came.

She was still pulsing when Wes’s touch disappeared, but not for long. Seconds later he was nudging her legs farther apart with his knees.

“Shooter. You’re my best friend, but this is
no
t the view I want in front of me when I slide into this beautiful woman.” Wes sounded as out of breath as she felt.

“I hear ya.” Shooter vibrated with laughter, then swung his leg over her. “I need a drink of water anyway. I’ll be back. Don’t do too much without me.”

Maryann watched Wes’s expression, the tension in his features evident as he held himself poised against her until the moment Shooter left the room. Then he plunged inside, and she saw the relief on his face.

He filled her completely and yet she wanted more, wanted him deeper. She’d expected he’d be rough. Had kind of been looking forward to it actually. What woman didn’t have a fantasy of being thrown down and thoroughly taken by a manly cowboy like Wes?

What she didn’t expect was the tenderness. His eyes never left her face as he stroked slowly but completely in and out of her. He ran his hands up her body to grab and hold hers, raising them above her head so his chest pressed against hers. His breath was warm on her skin as he kissed her face and mouth while loving her.

She’d never felt such emotion with a man in bed ever. Not even with Robert—especially not with Robert. It was as if Wes was pouring love into her with every stroke.

The tension built inside her again. He must have felt it too. His speed increased as her muscles gripped him. He abandoned holding her hands, instead reaching beneath her and lifting her bottom off the bed. The change in angle had her gasping, and shortly after, grabbing at his hips as she rocked against him.

With her face buried in Wes’s shoulder, she cried out as she came again, harder, more intense than the first time. He plunged deep one last time, bowed his back and groaned loud with his own release.

She opened her eyes to find Wes, still panting, rolling off her. When she turned her head, she could see why. Shooter was back, grinning and standing next to the bed, and the time away hadn’t done anything to diminish his enthusiasm.

He winked at her, a gesture so playful and opposite of the intensity of being with Wes, it had her laughing.

“You up for some more, darlin’? I’m so ready it won’t take long, I can promise you that.” Shooter handed both her and Wes a bottle of water.

Maryann was impressed one more time at the extreme politeness of these men even during this insane situation. She opened the bottle and took a well-needed sip. “Thank you and I’m ready if you are.”

She noticed the condom already stretched over him as he nodded and reached for her.

“Oh, I’m ready.” Shooter pulled her onto her feet, spun her around and bent her over the mattress, putting her eyelevel with Wes’s position on the bed. Shooter nudged her feet apart and nestled close behind. “Hope you don’t mind, but I’m an ass man and I do love this view.”

With a playful slap on her bottom that sounded throughout the room, Shooter plunged easily inside. Still sensitive from the orgasm Wes had given her, Shooter seemed to hit all the right spots. When he pressed his thumb just barely inside her arse, she gasped from the sensation.

“Like that, do ya?” Shooter laughed and pressed in slightly deeper. “Never met a girl who didn’t enjoy just a little bit of teasing back there.”

Wes leaned over. He tangled her hair in his hands and angled her head so she could see him. She forced her eyes open as they began to drift shut from the pleasure Shooter was inflicting on her from behind.

Wes’s gaze was piercing and intense when he said, “Kiss me.”

With one hot as blazes cowboy behind, plunging inside her until she nearly purred and another in front, boring into her with his stare, she stopped questioning it all. Maryann closed her eyes, kissed Wes and just enjoyed the dance.

Chapter Seven

“You got no chance of winning the round now. Not with that penalty added to your time.”

Wes didn’t need Shooter to remind him of that. He knew he’d broken the barrier and cost himself a ten-second penalty the moment he’d left the box. He’d performed like crap tonight and he knew it, and the reason was standing along the sidelines next to his sister. Maryann’s presence had him so on edge, even his damn horse had sensed it. He couldn’t blame the animal for the penalty. It had simply misread the tension in him and taken off too early.

Wes blew out a loud breath. “I know.”

Shooter frowned at him. “Where’s your head at tonight?”

He glanced at Maryann one more time, looking as if she was having the time of her life watching the event. “I don’t know.”

“Well I do.” Shooter laughed. “You’ve got it bad for her.”

Wes spun back to his friend. “Who? Maryann? No, of course not. I don’t even know her.”

“Oh, don’t we?” Shooter’s brows shot up to the brim of his hat.

Wes rolled his eyes. “I’m not talking about sex.”

Shooter let out a short laugh. “Neither am I. Look how much we’ve been through with that girl in just a little over twenty-four hours? We’ve seen her drunk and sober, happy and crying. We were with her when she found out for certain the man she thought she was going to marry was cheating on her and we were there when she put him in his place and dumped him too. And then, yeah, there was everything else that happened last night at my place. We can’t forget about that.”

No, Wes would never forget that. He shook his head, not willing to admit anything to Shooter. “I’ve been with women the night before an event and had them watch me compete the next day. It never messed me up before. I’m just having an off day. That’s all.”
