The 3 Essentials: All You Need for Success in Life (8 page)

Wisdom, Knowledge, and the Direction of God
I do not seek after riches, wealth, or honor, but I seek for wisdom and knowledge that are granted unto me, and I believe You have given riches, wealth, and honor according to Your Word. Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore I get wisdom, and with all my getting I get understanding. I exalt Wisdom and she promotes me. She’ll bring me to honor when I embrace her.
Happy is the man who finds wisdom and the man who gets understanding, for the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof better than fine gold. Wisdom is more precious than rubies and all the things I can desire are not to be compared to her. Length of days is in her right hand and in her left hand is riches and honor. She is the tree of life to them that lay hold upon her. Happy is everyone who retains her. The Lord by wisdom has founded the earth, by understanding has He established the heavens. I am willing and obedient, and I eat the best the land has to offer. I seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these other things are added unto me. I am a blessed man/woman who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But my delight is in the law of the Lord, and in Your law do I meditate day and night. I am like a tree planted by rivers of water that brings forth fruit in season. My leaf also shall not wither and whatever I do shall prosper.
(2 Chronicles 1:12; Psalm 1:1-3; Proverbs 3:13-19; Proverbs 4:7-8; Isaiah 1:19; Matthew 6:33)
Topical Faith Confessions
Overcoming Anger
I am a person who is not given to anger, and I put away all wrath, anger, clamor, bitterness, and evil speaking. When I feel anger rising, I do not yield to it nor do I sin in it. I know that a soft answer turns away wrath, and I focus on being a kind, tenderhearted, and forgiving person to all those around me.
(Ephesians 4:26, 31-32; Proverbs 15:1)
Developing Boldness
The righteous are as bold as a lion, and that means me! I do not shirk away from challenges or situations because I am filled with the strength of God. I can do all things through Christ who infuses me on the inside with mighty power. I choose this day to be a person who can look others in the eye and who can speak up when needed. I walk by faith and not by what I see or how I feel.
(Proverbs 28:1; Philippians 4:13; Romans 1:17)
Succeeding in Business
I am a child of God, and I am blessed with the blessing of Abraham. God will set me up on high, give me His favor, and His blessings shall overtake me. Blessed will I be going in, and blessed will I be going out. Everything I set my hands to will prosper. I operate my affairs with the wisdom of God every day because I know when I do, I will make my way prosperous.
(Deuteronomy 28:1-3, 5, 8; Joshua 1:8)
Finding Comfort
I do not allow my heart to be troubled because I trust in Jesus. The Lord is my shepherd, and He takes care of my every need. When I am anxious, He leads me beside still waters; when I am weak, He restores my soul. Even during the times it feels like I’m walking through the valley of the shadow of death, I trust He is right beside me, leading and guiding me through to victory. In the world, I will sometimes have tribulation, but I can be of good cheer because Jesus has overcome the world, and He lives inside of me.
(Psalm 23; John 14:1, 16:33)
Dealing with Condemnation
I am in Christ Jesus, so I do not need to allow condemnation to be a part of my life. I will not let guilt or thoughts of past failures rule my heart and mind. I am righteous in Christ, and I walk in the spirit of freedom and not the flesh of condemnation.
(Romans 8:1-2)
Building Courage
I am strong and very courageous, for God Almighty is with me wherever I go. He will never leave me or forsake me; therefore I never need to fear any person or any situation. And even in the midst of feeling fear, the courageous stand strong and walk forward into destiny anyway!
(Joshua 1:7-9)
Discovering Destiny
When I delight myself in the Lord, He gives me the desires of my heart. I trust that my every step is ordered by the Lord. I am God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, for good works which God predestined just for me. He has a plan and purpose for my life, and His thoughts for me are for good and not evil so that I can have hope for my entire life.
(Psalm 37:4; Proverbs 20:24; Ephesians 2:10; Jeremiah 29:11)
Fighting Fear
God has not given me a spirit of fear or cowardice or timidity; He has given me a spirit of power, love, and a sound and well-balanced mind. The God of the Universe is my Light and my Salvation, my Refuge and the Stronghold of my life—what can possibly harm me? Because God is with me, I do not fear when sudden terror rises in my heart; I realize it is just a feeling. I’m not afraid of sickness or disease, or that sudden death will touch me. A thousand may fall at my side, and ten thousand at my right hand, but it will not come near me because I dwell in the secret place of the Most High God.
(2 Timothy 1:7; Psalm 27:1; Psalm 91:1, 5-7)
Receiving Finances
God gives me power to get wealth so that through me He can establish His covenant throughout the earth. I do not operate according to the financial systems of the world so I do not need to worry about anything. I operate according to God’s financial system; I honor Him with my tithe and my offerings, and He supplies my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
(Deuteronomy 8:18; Proverbs 3:9; Philippians 4:19)
Experiencing Healing
Jesus was sent by the Father to undo all that Satan had done, and this includes overcoming sickness and disease. He was wounded for my sins and bruised for my iniquities, and by His stripes, we were healed. This includes any kind of physical, emotional, or mental pain or disease. As my soul prospers in Christ, my body also prospers and is free from sickness. Jesus went about healing all who were sick when He walked on the earth, and He is the same yesterday, today and forever, so I can expect His healing to be at work in my life right now.
(Isaiah 53:5; 2 Peter 2:24; 3 John: 2, Hebrews 13:8)
Walking in Joy
Today I choose to walk in the joy of the Lord, because His joy is my strength. I will count it joy, even when I face tests and trials because they are only temporary and will produce patience and endurance in my life. In God’s presence is fullness of joy, and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore.
(Nehemiah 8:10; James 1:2; Psalm 16:11)
Cultivating Love
Love is an action, not a feeling, and I am a person who operates in love every day of my life. I am patient, I am kind, I do not envy other people around me, I am humble and do not act full of pride or like I am better than someone else. I look to serve others, not to be served, and I rejoice at justice, truth and righteousness, not at evil. I believe the best of every person (including myself), and I am filled with perseverance. I love others as Christ has loved me and has laid down His life for me.
(1 Corinthians 13:4-7; John 15:12-14)
Developing Patience
I trust in the Lord and wait patiently for Him because I know He hears me. He is faithful to bring an answer for my situation, to deliver me from all my enemies, to set my feet upon a rock and establish my steps. I will not cast away my confidence in Him or in doing the right things because I know I will receive the promises and the blessings of God.
(Psalm 40:1-3, Hebrews 10:35-36)
Living in Peace
I do not allow myself to get caught up in the cares of the world; instead I choose to let God’s peace rule and reign in my heart and mind. I know when I pray in faith, with thanksgiving, God’s perfect peace—which sometimes I cannot even explain—will settle in my heart and will actually guard my mind from worry. God promises to strengthen me and to give me His peace.
(Philippians 4:6-7)
Accepting Supernatural Protection
I am made in God’s likeness and image; He lives inside of me, and so nothing or no one can overcome me. He causes the enemies who try to rise up before me to be defeated right in front of me, and I will watch as they flee in seven different directions! I put on the whole armor of God so that I will be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. I stand with His truth as my belt, His righteousness as my breastplate, and I shod my feet with the preparation of the Gospel of peace. I take up the shield of faith with which I am able to quench all the fiery darts of the enemy. I put on the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Jesus has given me the authority over all the power of the devil and nothing shall by any means harm me.
(Genesis 1:26; Ephesians 6:13-17; Luke 10:19)
Trusting in God’s Provision
God is my Father, and He will always provide my every need. There is no lack for those who seek Him, and those who follow His ways shall not lack any good thing. Jesus promised if I ask anything in His name, He will do it, and when I seek first His kingdom and His way of doing things, all my needs will be met exceedingly above all that I can ask or think, according to the power that works in me.
(Psalm 34:9-10; Matthew 6:33; John 14:14; Ephesians 3:20)
Growing Relationships
As iron sharpens iron, so do my friends sharpen me when I seek to build godly relationships. The key to my success in every area will depend upon the kind of people I allow myself to be intimately connected with, therefore, I will choose wise Christian faith-filled friends. I do not isolate myself from close relationships because this is foolish and every day I take steps to build and nourish the friends I have in my life.
(Proverbs 27:17; Proverbs 18:1; Proverbs 13:20)
Framing Your Self-Image
I am made in the likeness and image of God and I was created to have dominion over everything in the earth; God has put everything under my feet. He loves me unconditionally, and I am precious in His sight as His thoughts toward me are innumerable; if I could count them, they would outnumber the stars! Through Jesus, I have access to the Father in Heaven, and I am a child of God. I am holy and blameless and above reproach in His sight; therefore, I can walk boldly into His presence and receive whatever I need from Him.
(Genesis 1:26; Psalm 8:6, 139:17-18; Ephesians 2:18-19; Colossians 1:22)
Using the Power of Speech
Today let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in the sight of the Lord. My words are gracious and full of wisdom. God has given me the ability to speak clearly and wisely in every season and in every situation, and every morning, my ear is tuned in to His voice. Life and death are in the power of my tongue, so I choose carefully what I say each day.
(Psalm 19:14, 37:30; Proverbs 18:21; Isaiah 50:4)
