The Better Angels of Our Nature (52 page)

About the Author

S. C. GYLANDERS
was born in London and lives there with her husband, Jed. After leaving school at fifteen and struggling through a succession of dead-end jobs, she finally found her vocation. Her first novel was published in 1981.
The Better Angels of Our Nature
is her fourth novel, and the American Civil War is her passion. In 2001 she was responsible for the dedication of a historical marker outside Rome, Georgia, to honor Major General Thomas E. G. Ransom, U.S.A.

This is a work of historical fiction. Apart from the well-known actual people, events, and locales that figure in the narrative, all names, characters, places, and incidents are the products of the author’s imagination or are used fictitiously. Any resemblance to current events or locales, or to living persons, is entirely coincidental.
