The Breed Casstiel's Vow (21 page)

The pattern of his kisses blazed a trail of heat across
her sensitive skin, and made her shiver.

“I’m pretty sure there wouldn’t be any showering going
on,” she squirmed away.

“Alright,” he sighed, slumping back onto his pillows.

Pulling the entire blanket off the bed, she wrapped it
around herself, covering every inch of her skin.

Now that the heat of the moment was over, she was more
than aware of how naked each of them was.

Embarrassment burned her cheeks as she thought about how
desperately she had thrown herself at him last night. She needed a hot shower
to digest it all.

Once she was securely covered she held her head up high
and began her long slow trek to the bathroom.

The sound of chuckling had her turning around.

“What?” she asked, blushing furiously as she took in the
sight of
him.

Sprawled naked across the bed he looked every bit the
King of his castle with his cock standing hard and proud. One arm was bent
behind his head, while the other slid slowly down his chiseled abs, finally
resting just below his belly button….

“Why bother to cover
yourself
now?” his eyes roamed over her body, and she knew he remembered everything
under the blanket.

She made a mad dash for the bathroom.

As soon as she was inside she locked the door and let
out a strangled breath. He was too damn sexy.

Within minutes she let the hot water wash over her and
tried to sort everything out.

The idea of being shot was almost too much to handle.
She had never been in danger like
that,
she had led a
spoiled sheltered life. Even when she had discovered werewolves in her
backyard, they had approached her cautiously, trying to ease her, never making
a move to attack.

She had been safer with a pack of werewolves than a
group of human beings.

She quickly decided she would have to take Casstiel more
seriously when he warned her about things.

What he had told her about Quinn, was another impossible
thing. It didn’t matter, she didn’t care if the whole god damn world stood up
and told her she was wrong; she knew in her heart that her brother had never
teamed up with those disgusting hunters, and no matter how bad things looked
there was a good reason for everything he had done.

Lathering the soap up
she
vigorously scrubbed her head. Somewhere out there, her brother was in some deep
shit. If he didn’t want her and her family to get involved, that was fine, but
she would never stop looking for him.

Closing her eyes, the water slid down her body imitating
warm fingers, and she couldn’t help but be reminded of Casstiel.

She couldn’t begin to believe how open and free she had
been last night. It was like shedding a thick blanket of insecurities to find a
beautiful confident woman underneath.

Had it really just been the insanity of the day that had
broken down all of her walls? Or was he bringing out something in her that she
had never known she had?

He made her feel strong and beautiful, interesting and
funny, words she would never have used to describe herself with before.

What was he doing to her?

~

Casstiel was half way to the kitchen when Tessa’s tiny
voice called out to him.

“I’m going to borrow some clothes, I don’t really
want to put back on what I was wearing at the subway,” she sounded meek and
timid again, making him frown.

He caught a glimpse of her as she shuffled past wearing
nothing but a towel, and hunger roared to life within him.

A few minutes later she came into the kitchen pulling
down the hem of one of his white dress shirts.

“This place isn’t what I was expecting at all,” she took
in the sight of the kitchen, and slowly began walking through his home.

The house was darkly gothic with both vintage and modern
touches, antique furniture, but also polished steel and glass. Nearly
everything was in shades of black and white, with very few pops of color.

“What were you expecting?” he followed behind her.

“Gold toilet seats,” she laughed. She had expected him
to live an extremely lavish life style, with thousands of dollars worth of
designer furniture, and diamond encrusted china.

He snorted with laughter.

“I dunno it’s just so dark and severe, like Edgar Allen
Poe should live here,” she smiled at him.

“I am dark and severe, and I enjoy Mr. Poe’s works
so I’ll take that as a compliment,” he replied, his hair falling into his eyes
as he watched her.

“Not with me,” she corrected quietly.

“No, not with you; you have a beautiful way of making me
laugh and brighten,” he stared longingly at her.

She stopped to admire one of the only sources of color
in his living room. A beautifully painted woman wearing a blue ball gown the
same shade as her eyes, the same shade as Casstiel’s
eyes,
and next to her in a crisp black tuxedo was the man that without a doubt was
his father.

“Your parents?” she asked softly.

“You see the resemblance?” he smirked down at her,
then
lightly brushed his finger tips across the oil
painting.

“Except for the eyes, your father could be your twin,”
she nodded, admiring how beautifully crafted the painting was, “when did you
have it made?”

“Sebastian painted it the first year we came to America.
It used to hang over the mantle place in the main ballroom of our old home with
a panting of me on one side, and him on the other,” he informed her, and as he
spoke his eyes drifted away for a moment, remembering his old life.

“I had no idea he could paint,” she replied, shocked. He
was so cold and frigid, something as warm and lovely as this painting seemed
far away from what he was capable of.

“The person Sebastian really is, and the person that he
presents before the world, are two very different people,” he looked down at
her seriously, “sometimes when a person lives through so much pain and tragedy,
they have no choice but to cover themselves in the hardest armor they can find.”

Tessa locked away his words to analyze another time.

“Wow, this is amazing,” she rushed over to one of the
corners of the room. It held a black and grey winged back chair with a small
end table in front of it. On the table there was a beautifully hand crafted
chess set.

“You like chess?” he asked, following her over.

“I never learned to play, but my dad loves it. I’m sure
he’d be able to appreciate this set more than I can, it looks beautiful
though,” she gently ran her finger along the edge of the board.

“It’s made of ebony wood, white gold and hand blown
glass,” he informed her as she made her way slowly around the table.

“It’s probably worth more than my whole house,” she
sighed dreamily.

“I’ve never had it appraised. My father made it himself
in the early 1700s, it’s one of the things I took from our house before I set
the fire; it’s the same set he used to teach me and Sebastian to play with,” he
explained, “I’d love to teach you.”

“I’m sure my father would love for me to learn. He tried
to get me and Quinn interested in it for years,” she shrugged, as another stab
of anger and confusion hit her in the stomach.

She remembered the time Jack had tried to get them
to learn to play, but they didn’t want to, and so they ‘ran away’ into the old
tree house out back. It took her parents over an hour to find them, and neither
thought the gag was as funny.

“When I finally meet him I’ll have to offer him a game,”
he felt her suddenly somber mood and tried to distract her.

“Who are you playing against? Yourself?” she
asked, looking at the pieces on the board.

“Sebastian. We text each other moves daily,” he informed
her.

“You two are really close huh?” she asked heading over
to the windows to take in the view, “how many other rooms do you have?”

There’s
my office, the master
bedroom, two spare rooms, and three bathrooms,” he rattled off.

“No Jacuzzi or indoor pool?” she teased.

“Absolutely not,” he rolled his eyes.

“This view is amazing. It’s so beautiful to see the city
like this, you’re so close to it, yet so far away,” she stood watching the sun
slowly creeping up over the horizon.

“It’s why my mother chose this location, it’s close
enough to keep an eye on everything, yet far enough away to live privately,” he
explained next to her.

“Wait a minute, if you can’t go outside in the day
light, than how can you be standing in front of this window?” panic suddenly
flooded her.

“Look closely,” he pointed out, showing her something
small on them that she hadn’t noticed before, “All the windows in the embassy
building are covered in it. Think of it almost as a fabric that covers them and
blocks out all UV rays.”

Now that she was straining her vision to see, she
noticed what looked like clear miniscule bubble wrap.

“Don’t ask me how it works, that’s a question for the
brains down in the lab,” he shrugged.

Tessa was becoming more and more amazed with the embassy
as time went on.

“I bet all your girlfriends love the view,” she suddenly
said, not caring in the least that she sounded like a jealous twelve
year
old. If she had to guess she could easily see him with
a revolving door of women coming through here.

“No one else has been inside of my home. I don’t allow
other people into my personal space. Sebastian and I are exactly the same when
it comes to that,” he looked down at her seriously.

“Why did you let me up here then?” She whispered,
her body frozen, her gaze caught in his like a fly caught in a web.

“You know why,” he purred coming closer to her.

“Why?” she repeated, demanding. After everything that
had happened in the last twenty four hours she wanted something happy for her
thought’s to cling too, and the thought of him actually wanting her in the way
she was beginning to want him was the happiest thing she could think of.

“Because I want you to know me, I want you to see
who I am, to see me in a way I won’t allow anyone else,” his voice was
electric, his eyes impossibly blue.

She didn’t know what to say, she was hoping that he
would say something to let her know how he felt, but he had given her more than
she bargained for.

She stepped back from him, mentally pulling away a bit,
her mind repeating what he said.

Now that she knew how he felt, the only questions left
were, how exactly was she feeling, and what the hell was she planning on doing
about all this.

Her brain was stalling out; she was turning the key in
the ignition, but the engine just wouldn’t turn over.

“I don’t really know what to say,” she admitted, walking
back towards the kitchen.

“You don’t have to say anything, it’s a lot for a human
to take in,” he replied close behind her, watching the ends of his shirt rise
up the back of her thighs as she walked.

“I just need some time,” she sighed, she had never even
been on a date and now she had someone wanting to love her, wanting her to love
him. Her whole life had shifted so suddenly, she wondered if things would ever
start to feel normal again.

Chapter
14

Casstiel circled around her taking in the perfection
that was her body wrapped in his clothing.

“You don’t have to explain yourself to me, I can wait a
very long time even if I don’t want to,” he put his message across to her
clearly.

He could literally wait for eternity to have her, but in
all honesty he didn’t want to wait another day. He was trying his best to be
patient and understanding with how slow humans were, but that didn’t mean he
liked it.

Rushing her however, was a recipe for disaster. Even now
that they had been intimate he understood he didn’t have any more claim on her
today than he did the first day he met her. The stakes were still high, and she
could easily choose to walk out the door and not come back.

Having her in his house, in his clothing, exploring his
things and getting to know him in such a deep way felt almost more intimate
than the sex they had had the night before.

She had called his home ‘dark and severe’, and he
wouldn’t deny it. It was dark, quiet, reserved, just the way he liked it, but
now that she was here he finally saw the beauty of color and light.

“So what’s down this way?” she asked, as usual
choosing to change the subject and avoid the seriousness of the situation.

“The spare bedrooms and my office,” he replied, letting
her subject change pass by without mention.

“Do you mind if I see it?” she was already walking away.

“You can see anything you like,” he replied seriously.
The more she became familiar with his home, what he hoped would become her
home, the better.

As she opened the office door, her face lit up with joy
and to him nothing was more beautiful.

“Wow!” she nearly squealed as she entered his most
private space.

His office was located in the back corner of the
penthouse, so the two outside walls were made completely of glass, giving a
breathtaking view. Facing the windows, and elevated onto a platform three steps
higher than the ground, was his piano.

His desk was massive, and like the rest of the house,
dark and daunting. Made of ebony wood that looked thick enough to support a
cars weight, the top portion of it was littered with case files and paperwork,
making it the only part of the house that looked lived in.

Behind his desk and covering the two other walls were
bookshelves, neatly crammed with books, and stretching from floor to ceiling.

Immediately she barreled towards the books, her eyes
hungrily devouring them.

“You really do like Poe,” she said, plucking down a
leather bound tomb.

She examined his collection of books thoroughly, the
minutes passing easily as she rifled through, stopping every few books to ask
him his opinion, or tell him her own.

He loved how passionately she defended her point of view
when they disagreed on an author’s message, or the symbolism behind something.
The only other time he had ever seen her so fierce was in the bedroom.

She truly had spent her life living through books, and
though he had more than three hundred years on her, she competed with him on
his literary knowledge.

When she had finally finished her examination of his
shelves, her hands slid smoothly over his piano.

“Will you play something?” she playfully thumped the
keys.

Casstiel
hesitated,
he really
hadn’t played since the death of his parents, keeping the piano almost as an
ornament now.

“Please, it’s always been a dream of mine to have a
shirtless hunk play the piano just for me,” she teased.

“What do I get in return?” he smiled wickedly at her.

“A kiss,” she answered quickly, a blush creeping over
her face.

“Fine,” he’d do just about anything for a taste of her
lips, “A song of your choosing, for a kiss of my choosing.”

“I don’t know the names to any fancy music,” she
suddenly looked put out,
then
glanced around his room
as if for inspiration.

“Something doesn’t have to be ‘fancy’ to be beautiful.
If you want me to play you the national anthem, then I’ll play you the national
anthem,” he brushed off her attempt at being insecure.

“Will you play ‘Over the rainbow’ then?” she stared down
at her feet as she asked.

“Absolutely,” he pulled out one of his massive binders
of sheet music.

He stretched his fingers, and tested the keys. It had
been so long since he had played, for a moment he thought he had forgotten how;
but without hesitation his fingers took over.

The melody came out sweet and strong, and sounded all
the more beautiful for being played for her.

He watched her face as the music went on, and fell in
love with the way she looked back at him. For the first time since he had met
her she looked at him with more than just innocent attraction, insecurities or
lust. She wasn’t overwhelmed by his good looks, or embarrassed and worried.

There was something deeper in her eyes, and he knew that
his patience was paying off; the tide was finally beginning to turn in his
favor.

His fingers touched the keys softly as he went through
the song, feather light, the way they yearned to touch her skin.

Seeing the look in her eyes, and knowing that she was
beginning to feel more than just mere physical attraction to him, was the most
powerful aphrodisiac he had ever known.

“Everything sounds better on the piano,” she sighed as
the song ended, breaking the moment and their eye contact.

He followed behind her as she made her way back to the
kitchen, and wondered how much longer he could last without trying to have her
again.

Every cell in his body was burning with desire for her.
The woman he had dreamed about for so many years, the woman who brought the
only sunshine he had ever truly known in his life.

As she leaned forward onto the kitchen island, the end
of his shirt rose so high on her body it nearly exposed the sweetest part of
her, and he had to look away. His mouth was dry and his body hungry for her.

“Are you going to make breakfast?” she asked facing away
from him, completely unaware of his growing need.

It took all of his strength not to pounce on her; the
only thing keeping his body in check was his concern for her.

Last night she was practically a virgin, and once
she had given him the green light he hadn’t held back.

He should have taken things slower with her, but she had
made it clear that slow wasn’t what she needed from him. He understood the
feeling of being so overwhelmed with your life that you sought out a
pleasurable oblivion. You looked for someone to take you so high, so fast, that
you forgot everything else but that one intense moment.

“Are you sore Tessa?” he asked, unable to stop himself,
his voice sounding more deep and seductive than he had meant it to be.

From behind her, he could see her blush slowly creeping
up the back of her neck as she realized his meaning, and his tone.

“I’m… I’m fine,” she spoke softly, without turning
around to face him, “I wasn’t a virgin.”

The sensation of her desire flooded through him and he
was on her practically before the sentence had left her lips, his arms
immediately wrapping themselves around her freshly cleaned body, and his mouth
hungrily claiming her throat.

He pressed her body against the hardwood, and let out a
sensual growl as she spread her legs wide for him. No matter how shy and
uncertain she was when she woke up, she was going to let him take her right
here right now on the kitchen island.

He hiked up the bottom of her shirt then slid his hand
down her spine, around her hip, and into her sweet heat.

She moaned as his fingers connected with her hot skin
and she leaned into him, throwing her head back into his shoulder.

Using his other hand he grabbed at the collar of her
shirt, and with a small tug sent the first three buttons flying across the
kitchen.

Her nipple was hard and waiting to be touched as his hand
speared inside. His fingers hungrily devoured her breast, loving the feel of
the soft flesh against his rough
hands.

The feel of her vein pounding with each heartbeat
against his lips made his fangs long and throbbing hard with lust. He wanted her
blood more than anything, but he caged his desires and focused, she wasn’t
anywhere near ready for that yet.

“Were you thinking about me in the shower?” he whispered
in her ear, his finger hot and possessive against her clit.

He yearned to know she fantasized about him as much as
he did about her.

“Yes,” she panted out.

“You were thinking about what I did to you last night?”
he asked, dragging one of his fangs up her throat.

“Yes,” she moaned sweetly, her body tense and
rigid, already coming close to an orgasm as he slid his two fingers into her.

Casstiel thought about slowing things down, about
dragging it out, but he wanted to be inside of her more than he wanted to tease
her.

Heightening the speed of his fingers, he drove her
closer to where she wanted to be. He had to rip his lips away from the side of
her neck, and instead plant them between her shoulder blades, because he knew
he wouldn’t be able to stop himself from tasting her once the sweet rush of the
orgasm over took her.

Her legs began trembling as his touch melted her, his
fingers preparing her body for what was going to come.

Tessa’s nails dug deep into the wood of the kitchen
island as he felt her body spasm. She always came so quickly he couldn’t get
enough of it.

He wouldn’t stop or slow down, he just kept pressing her
on and on as she gasped and moaned with pleasure. He loved the feel of her body
climaxing around him, then how soft and loose she became, no longer clawing at
the wood of the island, but trying to use it as support.

Letting her breathe for a minute, he lightly kissed the
back of her neck as her head hung forward. He would give her a moment to relax
and rest before he took things where he needed them to go.

Finally her breathing began to even out, her heart beat
slowing down.

He turned her around to face him.

Her face was flush, with
a sheen
of sweat covering her body, her eyes dark green and glossy from the orgasm. It
intrigued him how dark they became with pleasure and lust, at times almost
seeming black with intensity.

This time she didn’t shy away from the eye contact, her
eyes met his in lustful ferocity.

He marveled at how bold she was each time they were
intimate, letting go of all
her self
restraint.

This was the Tessa he had dreamt about; fiery and
passionate. There wasn’t a shadow of insecurity in her eyes as she stared at
him, only desire.

He caressed the wet locks of hair that had come tumbling
over her shoulder like a halo of blazing red sunrise.

She pulled his hand to her lips and softly kissed the
inside of his palm. He didn’t care why the sex made her bolder, he only wanted
it to continue.

Unable to wait any longer he pushed up the bottom of her
now severely rumpled shirt and locked his hands around her waist.

She didn’t so much as bat an eye as her bottom half was
exposed, and instead of looking shocked that he was lifting her onto the
counter top, she looked enthralled, as if she had been waiting for him to do
this since the moment his hands had touched her body.

As soon as her naked lower half was rested on the top of
the kitchen island she opened her legs wide enough for him to stand between
them, then leaned back onto her elbows and watched him through hooded eyes.

He was taken aback by how sexy and wonton she looked.
Blood red curls cascading down her body, the water from her hair soaking his
white dress shirt making it see through, and the shirt gaping open to tease him
with the sight of her perfect body.

The thing that made his breath catch in his lungs
however, was the way she was looking at him. Not girlishly sweet like normal,
she was looking at him with lust, daring and impatience. She wanted him, and
she wanted him now.

He didn’t make her wait a second
longer,
gripping each side of her shirt he pulled apart the sides of it, sending the
last buttons skittering across the floor.

Tessa’s blood was boiling, her heart pounding with
excitement and nerves. She didn’t care that she was lying naked on the kitchen
counter; she didn’t even spare a thought to the fact that it was broad day
light, and her body was completely exposed to his eyes.

Her thoughts were completely focused on Casstiel and the
moment she was in.

He roughly untied the knot around his sweat pants, and
yanked them off. She was hungry for the sight of his naked body, greedily
taking it all in.
