Gage reached around to grab Trent
’s dick at the same moment he poured several drops of oil onto his throbbing cock. His every intention was to stroke Trent as he prepared him from behind, but Gage lost his mind when he pushed his finger inside Trent’s tight rim.

No, don’t wait, do it now…” Trent groaned. Gage looked up in the mirror, seeing Trent’s beautiful masculine face reflecting the same deep desire he held in his heart. Trent dropped his head between his shoulders, reaching back to Gage’s cock, positioning him to enter. Trent thrust his hips back, driving Gage inside. It felt damn good to be put inside this man. No one had ever done anything similar to him before. Gage gripped Trent’s hips, holding him still as he bent forward dropping his head on Trent’s back.

Don’t move, babe… Please don’t move,” Gage begged, desperate. He panted, his load threateningly close to exploding in the tight confines of his lover’s body. Trent didn’t listen, though, he thrust his hips forward then back again against Gage. Trent lifted his head, pushing them both upright, and laid his head back on Gage’s shoulder. The sweetest of moans escaped Trent’s lips, and Gage couldn’t hold back any longer; he rocked back and forth, burying himself again and again inside Trent. His hips jerked and his release built quickly. He closed his eyes, leaned slightly forward, wrapping his arms around the male who now gripped the sink tightly in his hands. Trent’s head again lowered, hitting against the mirror. Deep unintelligible words poured from Trent and encouraged the pounding to continue.

Gage thought he heard Trent working himself and for a split second he realized he should be stroking his Trent, but his orgasm crested, and he curled his hips forward as he closed his eyes and let his seed shoot out of him. The sensation was so perfect, so right his legs almost buckled out from underneath him. He wrapped Trent in his arms, bringing him back against his body. Gage
’s arms wrapped tightly around Trent’s chest, holding him as close as he possibly could. Trent rested the back of his head on Gage’s shoulder again, and his breath continued to pant. Gage’s heart hammered and the earth fell out from under his feet, and then his knees did buckle.

Something happened in that moment. Something magical, something beyond anything Gage had ever experienced before. He couldn
’t name it, but the feelings made him gasp for breath from the sheer force of their weight, as if his heart physically left his body landing straight into Trent’s hands. Trent was his and held his heart completely captive. He loved this man. He loved him as completely as he ever loved anything and his future stood right here, encircled in his arms. The pure emotion of the moment forced him to confess this love. It gave him no choice, but when he opened his eyes, Trent lifted his head. The gaze meeting his in the mirror was filled with fear. It wasn’t what he expected to see. It wasn’t the love he’d thought they had just shared. Trent was afraid, unsure and unsteady. Gage held his tongue, not saying what his heart demanded he say. Instead he said the next most important thing.

Did you come, too?” Gage asked, not breaking eye contact in the mirror.

Yes.” Trent said. There seemed to be a lot of unsaid things flying between them.

I should have done that. You felt so good, I lost my mind for a minute,” Gage said, tightening his hold on Trent, leaning his chin on his shoulder.

No, it’s good, it didn’t take much,” Trent said. Gage stood there, staring at him as his now sated, limp dick slipped from Trent. Gage wasn’t ready to let him go. He couldn’t see how he was ever going to loosen his arms from the grip they held on this man. Trent kept their eyes locked and lifted his arm, placing it along Gage’s, linking their hands together as he continued to hold him.

I still should have stroked you off,” Gage said quietly, and
I love you
he thought to himself.

It’s all good. And I think I even made it in the sink. I’m guessing there isn’t an electrical problem in here,” Trent said, neither seemed to want this moment to end.

No, the currents running between us feel great, don’t you think? You did what I needed you to do,” Gage said with a smile.

I need to get back out there. The site owner’s a tyrant of a guy, kind of a diva, and added a whole back patio electrical upgrade, even as we’re pushing to finish the main specs on time,” Trent said in little more than a whisper. Gage smiled, kissing him softly on the shoulder, smiling at the shiver the small kiss gave Trent.

I won’t be able to see you tonight. I have crews in here decorating, bringing furniture and setting up the tables for tomorrow. I have to inspect the hangings myself. I’m sorry I won’t be able to drive out to your place. And I know I wasn’t invited to do so, but it doesn’t seem to be stopping me,” Gage said, his chin still resting on Trent’s shoulder.

It’s okay. I don’t have to see you every night. I’m not that needy,” Trent said.

Well, apparently, I am that needy. I already miss you,” Gage said.

You don’t have to say things like that, Gage,” Trent said. The fear and insecurity were back in Trent’s eyes, and Gage lifted their joined hands, turning Trent’s head to his so he could look him directly in the eyes.

I’m not that nice of a guy to just say things for your benefit. I’m actually holding so much in I want to say. I don’t like the fear in your eyes. I’m finding I would rather cut off a limb than see you hurt in any way. Trent, baby, can’t you see it? You mean everything to me. No, don’t pull away. I’ll leave it there for now, but we’re going to have this talk sooner or later. I can’t hold it in much longer,” Gage said. He leaned in to place a soft kiss on Trent’s parted lips, but the insecurity still stayed in Trent’s eyes.

Gage didn
’t wait for him to reply, he didn’t want to hear what Trent might say because he doubted it would have anything to do with what mattered to him. He pulled the condom off and grabbed a hand towel to clean himself. He kept his eyes on the task he performed, but saw Trent cleaning up the sink, then pulling his pants back in place. Maybe Gage had read Trent wrong. Maybe it wasn’t fear, maybe Trent wasn’t feeling everything he felt. He’d put Trent on the spot last night, then again today. This could easily be one-sided. Isn’t that how these things normally went down? Trent’s T-shirt lay on the floor by his feet and Gage scooped it up, holding it hostage until Trent looked at him.

You’re making me insecure, Trent. I wasn’t going to push you, and I’m still not, but tell me if you’re as interested in this between us as I am before my runaway heart goes much further,” Gage said, forcing himself to stay still, keeping the amused fake look on his face as his heart hammered in his chest.

Gage,” Trent couldn’t hold the stare. Instead he paused looking down and Gage lifted his hand behind Trent’s neck, tangling his fingers in the short strands.

You don’t have to say it,” Gage whispered into his ear. He hated pushing him. He wished he hadn’t said anything. The silence was answer enough. Just like always, he pushed at everything too much, too hard, and he needed to better read the signs Trent gave. His silence spoke volumes.

I’m scared. It’s a hard time for me. Em’s birthday, my sister’s death,” Trent said, never looking up at Gage.

Shhh… It’s okay, baby, I shouldn’t have asked. I’m not sure where this need for constant validation keeps coming from,” Gage said, resting his forehead on Trent’s head. He closed his eyes at the pain he heard in Trent’s words and at the pain now coursing through his heart at the rejection. He was alone in this with Trent, and it hurt deeper than anything ever hurt before. Alone, alone, alone. And no matter how many times he thought it, it didn’t make it easier to absorb. Trent lifted his head and raised a hand to Gage’s face, holding his jaw in place as they looked one another in the eye for several long seconds.

I’m in…in for whatever this is between us, but when it’s over, I’ll be okay. Whenever it is and if it’s tomorrow, I’ll be okay. I don’t want you to feel obligated to stay with me in any way,” Trent said.

Good, I’m glad you’re in. Me too,” Gage said. Relief struck his heart, staggering him again. A smile spread across his lips, and he reached his head in to kiss Trent’s lips, but he was denied when Trent pulled back.
Why does he keep distancing from me?

It’s important to me that you know I don’t want you obligated to me. Just tell me when we’re done. All right?” Trent asked, keeping his head back.

I honestly don’t see it happening, Trent,” Gage said, watching him closely. Right then Gage decided Trent was one of the most stubborn men on the planet. Nothing penetrated, no matter what Gage said or did.

Just say you will,” Trent replied.

I will, but what if this is forever? What then?” Gage asked, back to pushing Trent, but taking on the same defensive tone Trent used on him.

I honestly don’t see it happening, Gage.” Trent used Gage’s words back on him and grabbed his shirt from Gage’s hand, pulling it over his head while dodging Gage as he ducked down and grabbed his tool belt. He walked out of the bathroom and across the office. He never looked back, but right before he left the office, he ran his hand over his hair, making sure it wasn’t sticking up, and then ran it over his face, letting out a long frustrated sigh. Gage watched him square his shoulders and leave the office. At some point, Trent would have to admit what they were doing. Gage would get a commitment out of the man sooner or later.

The single beep sounded seconds before Trent’s phone began to vibrate on the nightstand beside his bed. The rattling jarred him awake and his eyes flew to the small alarm clock beside the phone. One thirty in the morning. Who would text him this late? Trent rose from bed, reaching up to turn on the lamp before palming his phone. This was the first night this week he got to bed at a decent hour and his brain seemed a little resistant to fully waking. Groggy, he rubbed the sleep from his eyes and opened the message. A smile formed as he saw Gage’s name on his phone.

Are you up?
Gage texted.

I am. Everything good?
Trent sent back.

Yes, did I wake you?

No, I was awake,
Trent typed, yawning as he hit send and lay back down on the bed pulling the pillows up behind his head.

Then why was your house so dark before I sent the text?
Gage countered.

What? Where are you?
Trent sat straight up in bed and texted back.

In your driveway.

What
? Trent sent while getting out of bed and walking out into the hall quietly tiptoeing toward the front door. Four rapid fire messages set the phone to buzzing like angry bees in his hand.

Time got away from me tonight. I missed talking to you and I had an overwhelming urge to kiss you goodnight. Can you come out? I
’ll make it quick, I promise. And don’t change. Come out like you sleep, but if you’re wearing a shirt take it off. I love your bare chest. I envision you sleeping with a bare chest.
Gage texted back.

As quietly as he could, Trent opened the front door to see Gage
’s Prius sitting in the front drive. The headlights were off, the car sat idling quietly. Trent ran his hands through his hair, hoping it wasn’t standing straight up, and opened the screen door, shutting it quietly behind him. The breeze blew gently, sending a slight chill across his skin. His entire neighborhood was dark and the moonlight guided his path down the front steps to the sidewalk. He wasn’t wearing shoes or a T-shirt, his pajama pants hung low on his hips. He first stepped up to Gage’s side of the car bending at the knee as the window rolled down.

Hi. Can you get in for a few minutes?” Gage asked. Trent looked back at the house, checking everything before he stood and walked around to the passenger side of the car.

What are you doing here? You have to be exhausted,” Trent said, climbing in the front seat. He didn’t get to finish his sentence before Gage had him in a lip lock, pulling him into his arms. It only took him a second to catch up. He met Gage’s long lazy stroke of the tongue with one of his own. Only pulling away to catch his breath. He’d been caught completely off guard, and forgot to breathe. Gage stayed with the kiss, trailing down his neck, over his shoulder then back up, placing soft kisses on his lips.

This is one of the busiest times of my life and you’re all I can think of… Trent… baby,” Gage said between kisses.

Me too,” Trent whispered, taking Gage’s lips again with his own. Gage kissed him thoroughly and completely one more time before inching back a little, but staying close and taking Trent’s hands in his.

Did you take the shirt off or sleep bare-chested?” Gage asked.

Bare-chested,” Trent said with a smile.

Good, that’s the way I dream it. Did the department store come out today and get you ready for tonight?” Gage asked. He brought Trent’s knuckles up for a quick kiss as he spoke and it warmed Trent’s heart as he watched Gage’s lips on his skin.
