The Dark Stranger: A Sharon Brown Erotic Romance (7 page)

“What are you doing here?” He asked Liam.

“I need to talk to you.”

“I have nothing to say to you. Get out of here.” Jake hissed.

“Listen Jake, I love Sarah. I have loved her since we were in college and I want to marry her. I’m sorry for what happened in the past but I can change that, I’m sure. Please be there on our wedding, your mother did so much for you. She sacrificed for you, be there for her sake.” He had hit a cord in Jake’s heart that no one could ever do.

“Get out.” Jake hissed, his eyes cold. Liam left that instant but what he had said had hit a chord in his heart. Sharon had said the same, he should be there to see his mother’s happiness as she had borne so much pain in the past.

He picked up the received and dialed his secretary.

“Cancel all my appointments for tonight and inform Miss Brown that we have a wedding to attend in the evening.”

Jake massaged the tensed muscles at the back of his and stretched, thinking about Sharon. He was insanely in love with her and day by day, the urge to marry her was getting worse.  Today, he will set the date for their wedding, he decided.

Epilogue

His house was decorated with beautiful white and yellow flowers and wherever he could see, flowers bloomed in vases and jars. Sharon looked around at the beauty these depicted in the foyer and her eyes gleamed with wonder. Jake looked at her and smiled at the picture she depicted, standing in the middle of the foyer wearing a cream color strapless dress with roses in shades of white and yellow spread around her. He likened her to a goddess amidst her subjects.

They walked into the ballroom where the guests were all gathered. The groom stood in front of the priest in his Brook Brothers suit. Just as they reached inside, the orchestra started playing Sarah walked down the aisle, holding onto her father’s arm and looking elegant and regal in her beautiful white gown that reached her feet. Sharon smiled at the beauty of it all and looked at Jason, whose face was as hard as stone. She touched his cheek and willed him to look into her eyes and then she smiled, giving him her courage and strength.

The wedding was done in a matter of minutes and then Sharon and Jake walked over to the happily wedded couple, Sharon hugged her mother-in-law and beaming at her. Jake just said Good Luck. Jake was about to leave when he turned back and said:

“By the way Mother, the wedding is scheduled to be on the sixteen of next month.” And then they left.

“I look so bad.” Sharon watched herself in the mirror and sighed.

“No, you don’t! You look amazing, sister.” Caprice said.

“Yes, you look beautiful Sharon. No need for thinking otherwise now.” Sarah said and smiled at her.

“But look at this dress, Jake will laugh himself into a stupor when he sees me in this.” She was on the verge of crying and ruining her makeup. Sarah hugged her.

“Believe me, Sharon. I know my son, he will love you just the way you and by the way, you look like a princess. Now, get ready so that the guests can also see what our little designer chose for herself.” Sarah smiled at Sharon in the mirror and squeezed her shoulder. Sharon smiled back.

They left for the Church half an hour later, when the news that Jake had already arrived at the Church. Sharon looked beautiful in her ivory colored, pearl encrusted dress with a thick bodice and narrow sleeves with bare shoulder design. She looked like a princess and so her mother had said the same. White flowers were set in her bun from where her veil was attached and the big fluffy skirt of her looked gorgeous. She held beautiful white flowers. As they neared the Church, Sharon’s breath caught in her throat.

“Breathe deeply, Sharon. It’s going to be alright, Jake is there for you.” Caprice said. Sharon took deep breaths and then stepped out, as soon as the car stopped. The Church was decorated with yellow and white roses, the same that were there
at Sarah’s wedding and she knew. The man waiting inside was the same man who had saved her life, being there for her on the night of her fashion show, being a friend and lover and the same man who had touched her as intimately as no one else had ever done it and she knew, that she was crazy in love with him.

The guests watched as the bride walked down the aisle, wearing a dress as beautiful as any princess’s and a smile on her face that could only depict as love. Jake stood at the end of the aisle, his chest swelled with pride when he saw his bride, walk towards him in all the beauty she possessed and in that instant they both knew they were truly, madly and deeply in love with each other.
