Fever in the Morning

I
woke up at nine the next morning, with a terrible headache, and the bed
drenched with sweat.  I tried to move, but my head hurt, and almost all my body
ached.  It couldn’t be the wine.  I must be sick or something.  I hate being
sick.

I
took my phone and called Joe, “Hey,” I said barely above a whisper.

“Richard!?”
Joe asked.

“Yeah
it’s me!” I said,

“You
sound terrible,” he said anxiously.

“It’s
because I’m sick,” I clarified.

“Listen,
I can’t talk to you right now.  I’m with the company lawyers, will stop by
later,” he said abruptly.

“Don’t
sign anything before you read it,” I quickly reverted

“Got
to go,” he said quickly and hung up.

I
tried to get out of bed but I got dizzy, so I sat back down.  I tried to open
my laptop and look at it, but I couldn’t concentrate on anything, so I put it
down.  I put on the TV and was watching reruns of Seinfeld, and then I started
dreaming of something.  Becca was talking to Lyn and telling her, “Poor boy,
I’ll make him some chicken soup,” and Lyn was checking my pulse to see if I was
alive.

“You’re
alive,” I heard Lyn saying.

Still
dazed and confused, I asked her, “How did you get in here?”

“Joe
called me and told me to stop by and check on you. I still have your keys from
last time,” she said.

Lyn
was sitting on the edge of my bed, and she was wearing a red tank top and a short
blue jean skirt.  Her tan thighs and legs looked so sexy.  In her hand, she was
holding the iPad that Becca took with her last night.  She handed it to me and
said, “I guess this belongs to you.”

I
heard some noise coming from the other room.  I looked at Lyn, waiting for some
kind of explanation, when Becca appeared at my bedroom door.  “Hey! You’re up,”
she said cheerfully as she came closer and added, “You were sleeping like a
baby.”

Lyn
leaned towards me and whispered in my ear, “She saw your teeny tiny Mr. Winky
when we first came in.”

“Fuck!”
I whispered back, my eyes wide open.

“The
covers were off and …” she stopped as her mom came closer.

“Mrs.
Brooks, sorry you had to see me like this,” I said, and Lyn giggled, so I kicked
her from under the sheets.

“Nonsense.
I made you some chicken soup and got you these,” she was holding Vicks and
Zicam.

“I
wanna go check out your bathroom down the hall,” Lyn said, getting off the bed.

“You
can use mine,” I said pointing to the bathroom door in my room.

“It’s
gonna take a while, and it’s gonna be ugly,” Lyn said playfully and left.

As
soon as Lyn left, Becca came closer and put the back of her hand on my
forehead. Then she bent down and kissed my forehead and her lips lingered long
enough to triple my fever and turn it into a raging hot fire of desire.  I put
my hand behind her neck and pulled her down and kissed her neck.  She pulled
back and looked back at the bedroom door.

“It
will take her a few minutes,” I whispered.

“You
are sick.  We shouldn’t be doing that,” she whispered back.

“Are
you afraid of catching a cold?”  I asked, and before I could say another word,
her lips crushed into mine and started kissing me passionately, our tongues
found each other and coupled together. I started to get hard, and the thin
sheets made it impossible for me to hide my growing desire.  She unlocked her lips
from mine and took another look at the bedroom door.

I
tried to lean closer to be able to touch her, but she put her hand against my
chest and pinned me down to the bed.  I didn’t have the energy to fight back.
She ordered me to stay down.  She took a look at my crotch and saw that I was
hard and up at full mast.  She grinned and took the Vicks off the nightstand, opened
it, scooped some with two fingers, warmed it between her hands, and started
rubbing it all over my chest.

The
fire in me grew fiercer with every touch and swirl of her hand.  Her fingers
drew circles around my nipples.  My chest was rising and falling as my heart
beats grew faster and my breathing deepened with desire.  “I want you,” I said.

She
leaned forward, the top of her round breasts exposed and staring right at me.
I could see from her loose bra her delicious nipples, hard and pink.  I was
happy to know that she was full of desire for me too.  As she reached my ear,
her breath blew on my neck and said in husky voice, “Not now.”

I
wanted to kiss her, but she pulled away from me as we heard the bathroom door
down the hall open and close.  Lyn came into the room as Becca stood up and
told me, “That’s a good boy.  Repeat this every three or four hours.  It will
make you breathe easier.”

She
held her hands up and was going towards the door, but Lyn pointed to the bathroom
in my bedroom instead.  “You might want to go in here if you plan to keep on
living,” she giggled.

I
shifted and rearranged the sheets to cover my erection, as Lyn was getting a towel
for Becca.  I sat up in bed as she appeared back in the room, grinned at me,
and came closer and said, “I read some reviews about your mom’s play.  It was
in all the papers.  Most of it was good.”

“I
saw Edith yesterday.  She said it was a success,” I replied.

“Edith.
Ha!”  Becca was surprised at me calling my mom with her first name.

“We
can all go and see it tomorrow night if you want,” I suggested.

“Good
idea.”  She looked at Lyn, waiting for an answer.  “Lyn?”

“Joe
doesn’t like plays, and it’s Donna’s bachelorette party tomorrow.  You two go
if you want,” Lyn said and stood by the bedroom door, ready to leave.

“It’s
a date then.  I’ll pick you up at seven,” I said, looking at Becca.

“Wonderful.
Let’s go, Mom.  We’re late,” Lyn urged her mom.

Becca
took my phone, dialed her number in and called her cell phone and said, “This
is my number.  Call me if there is a change of plan.”  She grinned and turned
and went for the door. Then she turned back and said, “Don’t forget the soup
and the pills. Sleep well.”  Then she put her lips together and blew me a kiss,
turned around, and left.

A
few seconds later, I heard the front door close.  I removed the bed covers off
of me, and my desire for her, exposed in front of my eyes, was still there and
as hard as before, and the thought of us together going out on a date alone was
mesmerizing.  My hand started to migrate south, when suddenly my mind took over
and urged me to wait one more night, and that was enough to snuff out the
flames for the day.

Date Night

“Did
I wake you up?” Becca asked.  Her voice sounded so sweet through the phone.

“What
time is it?”  I answered, still sleepy.

“It’s
ten thirty, lazy boy.  How are you feeling today?”  She asked cheerfully.

“I
feel much better.  I must have slept for fifteen hours or so.” I paused then I
added, “Where are you, and why are you whispering?”

“I’m
at a day spa with Lyn!”  She said and playfully added in a husky voice, “Wanna
come for a couples massage?”

“You
and me naked in one room is exactly what’s on my mind,” I replied seductively.

She
giggled and called to someone else away from the phone, “Wonderful, in a
minute,” then spoke to me again. “I have to go,” she said, paused for a second,
and whispered, “Richard, you could use some work in some areas.”  She giggled
and hung up.  She must have taken a good look that day to notice that I needed some
attention down there.

I
left my bed and took a look at my naked self in the mirror and went to work
preparing for the evening.  I needed to get a few things done before seven.  I
called Linda, my mom’s assistant, and reserved two seats for the night.  Having
taken care of that, I went and took a long bath, then began taking care of the
rest.

It
was now almost noon, and I needed to take the car for a spin to make sure it was
working well.  The car needed some work, so I took it to Jef in New Jersey, who
was the only one I could trust with it.  It only needed a change of spark plugs
and some tuning.

“This
girl here is still a beauty,” Jef said, cleaning his hands with a rag and
stepping back to admire my car.

“Dad
took good care of it,” I replied.

“Nick
used to bring it in for a tune up every three or four months.  Even if he
didn’t drive it, he used to bring it in,” he said and then added, “He spent a
fortune on it.”

“From
what you have done to this place, you bet he did,” I said half-jokingly.

“That
will be two hundred and fifty bucks, son,” Jef said with a serious tone.

“For
spark plugs and a tune up!?”  I asked him, surprised by the excessive rate.

“It’s
a classic, and it was on a very short notice,” he hurriedly exclaimed and put
out his hand.

I
paid him, and as I was about to drive off, he leaned towards me and said, “Love
her with all your heart.  She’s a keeper.”

Upon
my arrival to Manhattan, at around four, I picked up my tuxedo and headed
straight to Joe’s place.  It had been almost two days since I last saw him and
he had a big day yesterday with the lawyers.

“Hey
man, why did it take you so long to come to the door?”  I worriedly asked.

“I
was on the phone with my lawyers,” he depressingly answered.

“Motherfuckers.
They are not gonna let it go, are they?” I angrily said.

“I
guess I will have to sell at the end,” he stopped, sniffed me and added, “You
smell like gas.”

“I
was fixing the car,” I said.

His
tone completely changed and he cheerfully spoke and bumped my shoulder. “Big
date night.”

I
exhaled, “Yeah.”

“Lyn’s
mom, she’s hot,” he cunningly said.

“She’s
ok, but that’s not why I’m taking her.  She likes Mom’s work, and she is in the
city, and you guys don’t wanna go with us,” I tried to explain.

“Did
you kiss her yet?”  Joe replied, ignoring my words.

“I’m
out of here,” I turned, opened the door, and went out.

Joe
came after me, and as I was getting into my car, he shouted, “You’re the man,
you are a walking god,” and he got down on his knees on the sidewalk in front
of his house and onlookers passing by.

“Jesus,”
I muttered, and pulled out as fast I could.

It
was already five when I arrived home.  I rushed to the bathroom to take another
shower, when Becca called me.

“Hey,
I just got home. Ready for tonight?”  She said with excitement.

“I
was about to hit the shower.  How was your spa day?”  I said, matching her tone.

“Invigorating,”
she said and then added, “I went to that cute store on thirteenth street and bought
some jasmine oil.”

“Mmmmm!
You smell delicious then,” I said as I imagined her placing it behind her ear.

“I
got you something too.  A special scent.  Hope you will like it,” she said,
lowering her voice.

“Thank
you, darling, I am sure I will.  Is Lyn still there?” I asked.

“Yes.
She is leaving after six.  Don’t be late,” she paused then added, “and Richard…”

“Yes?”
I asked.

“I
love it when you call me darling,” she said softly and hung up.

At
seven sharp, I was standing in the middle of Lyn’s living room.  Becca buzzed
me in, opened the door, and went back to Lyn’s bedroom.  I didn’t see her yet,
and I was feeling nervous already.  I had been on hundreds of dates, but not
with anyone like her.  Usually the only preparation was just to show up and
that’s it, but tonight was different.  I spent the whole day preparing and
grooming and hoping.

“I
need a couple of minutes more,” Becca called from the bedroom.

“It’s
ok.  The play starts at eight,” I said. “Do you have anything I can drink?”

“Check
in the fridge,” Becca replied.

I
looked inside the fridge and found a bottle of vodka.  “That’ll do,” I murmured
to myself.  I poured a shot and gulped it.  “Shall I fix you something?”  I
said loudly as I called to Becca.

“I’m
ready.”  The soft words came from a few feet behind me.  I was too nervous to
turn, I took a deep breath and gathered all the courage I could and turned
around.  There she was, the most beautiful woman in the world, wearing a long, strapless
black dress, looking like a movie star about to step onto the red carpet.

“You
like it?” she said with a radiant smile.  She then put one hand on her side and
shifted sideways.  The dress opened up to reveal her sexy legs through a long
slit at the side.  She was wearing silver high heeled sandals with ankle
straps.  My jaw dropped and locked and I was not able to answer.

“I
need you to zip me up,” Becca turning around, her bareback facing me.

I
snapped out of the spell that gripped me, took a couple of steps forward, and
with both hands, I slid the zipper upwards, fighting the temptation to slide it
the other way.  Looking at her bare shoulder and intoxicated by her scent, I slid
my arms around her and held her tight.  Unable to resist, I lowered my lips and
kissed her shoulder.  A sweet sigh escaped her, and she turned to face me.  I
continued kissing her until I reached her long, sexy neck. Her breathing became
heavier and a moan escaped her.  Then she said softly, “We have to get going.”
It sounded like a suggestion more than an urge.

“We
don’t have to,” I suggested, my lips almost touching her ear lobes and hoping
she would say, “Let’s stay in for the night.”

She
peeled herself away from me, turned around, took a look at me, and put her hand
forward to stop me. “Take me out,” she demanded, then turned and ran back to
the bedroom saying, “Just a sec,” and in a blink, she was out again. “I forgot
my purse.”

We
went out of the front door, and as soon as she stepped outside, Becca, with all
the excitement of a fourteen year old-girl squealed with delight, “Wow! Look at
that! It’s gorgeous.”  She stepped forward and put her finger on the car hood
and traced a virtual line on it.  She turned to me and asked, “Is it what I
think it is?”

“It’s
an Aston Martin DB5 convertible,” I said with a proud grin, “It goes well with
the tux.”

“I
am your Bond Girl then,” she said with excitement as I opened the door for her
to get in.  “It matches my sandals and my purse,” she giggled.

I
shut the door and was about to walk around to the driver’s seat when Becca
called me back.  I leaned down towards her and she grabbed the back of my neck,
pulled me down towards her, and gave my lips a wet, strong kiss that made my
knees go weak.  Her twinkling blue eyes looked deep into mine, and she said,
“Thank you.”

When
I set myself in the driver seat, she turned and asked me, “So Mr. Bond, what
more do you have? A license to kill?”  I let out a long laugh and said, “No,
but I have a license to drive from the state of New York. Will that do?”

“Works
for me,” she replied while still looking at me as we pulled away.

It
was a full house, and the play was absolutely magnificent.  Edith had outdone
herself once again. I was really proud of her.  Although she said that it was based
on me, which was true in a way but only from Edith’s point of view, not from my
point of view.  If I was the writer, it would have been totally different.  Her
“beau” was, in fact, a very good actor, not just a pretty face at the end of a
hot rod.  She never jeopardizes her work for a fling.

A
few minutes after the final curtain, Becca and I were backstage waiting for
Edith.  She appeared holding a bouquet of red roses and smiled as she saw us. I
gave her a kiss and started to say, “Mom, this is…”

“Rebecca!
Is that you?”  She exclaimed with a big look of surprise on her face, hugged
Becca, and kissed her, “You haven’t changed a bit. It must have been more than
fifteen years or so since I last saw you.”

“I
missed you, Edith,” she said and then added, “You look wonderful as always.”

“Oh,
thank you, sweetheart,” Edith replied.

I
was standing there, staring at both of them with an blank look on my face, not
knowing what to say as I watched them behave like old friends, leaving me
standing on the sidelines.  After the commotion subsided, I asked, “How do you
two know each other?”  I looked at Becca and she looked at Edith and lowered
her head.

“She
came and auditioned for a role a long time ago,” Edith replied, grinned, and
looked at Becca.

“You
were an actress?”  I asked Becca, who didn’t answer me but instead waited for
Edith to say, “Not exactly, but she got the role, and she was perfect.”  Before
I could say anything else, Edith started asking Becca about Lyn and her parents,
and the old friends briefly caught up on the past several years, while ignoring
me completely.

After
they exchanged phone numbers and another round of hugs and kisses, Becca and I
went out and waited for the valet to bring the Aston to the front.  Almost
everyone had already left, so we were standing directly under the streetlight,
and Becca looked like a movie star under the spotlight with her wavy blond
hair, dazzling elegance, and beautiful smile.

There
was a question hanging between us that I needed to ask, and I did as soon as we
were back in the car, “How do you know Edith?”

“She
already told you,” Becca answered.

“But
you never mentioned to me that you knew her” I said.

“You
never asked,” Becca answered and asked me with a naughty smile, “Where are you
taking me now?”

“How
about we go to my place?” I suggested with confidence but still expecting a
negative answer.

“Under
one condition,” Becca replied, turning to face me.

I wasn’t sure what the condition will be,
but no matter what, it was for sure worth it. “Anything you want,” I promised.

“I drive the Aston,” she exclaimed, and
her eyes shined.

            “I didn’t see that coming,” I said.

“Is that a yes?”  She asked, leaning a
little bit towards me as I nodded.

I put my hand on the handle and was about
to open the door, when she grabbed my hand and said, “I’ll slide through.”  She
lifted her leg and put it on my side and lifted herself up. I held her and
lifted her as I was sliding towards the passenger seat.  For a moment, she was
sitting on my lap, her nude back facing me.  I was dazed and immersed in her
perfume.  Her firm butt was brushing against my renewing hardness.

We
managed to exchange places and settle down.  Becca removed her sandals and
handed them to me, holding the straps seductively with one finger, “Hold these,
darling.”

“Do
you drive a stick?”  I asked her innocently.

She
looked at me as she started the car, and put it in first gear, and said
seductively, “I drive a stick crazy, honey,” she giggled as she pulled out, with
the tires squeaking behind us.
