He slid his fingers between her folds without warning, feeling for himself just how wet and needy she was. How desperately she had missed him. How easily he could make her ache. She might have been embarrassed if Tino didn’t groan against her lips. Then he let his head fall against the wall while he felt her, teasing her, making the shivers of pleasure dance down her spine as he got his fingers sticky with her desire as if he liked the feel of it.

He pushed one in, and Brianna crumpled against him. She dragged her tongue up the curve of his neck and then breathed in the trace of his cologne still lingering on his skin.

Tino had always smelled so crisp and clean and distinctly male. The scent memory alone would have been enough to get her wet, but when he pushed another finger in deep, stretching her and then curving both up until he found that place inside her that made her legs shake, she gave up. She clung to his shoulders, her nails digging into the muscled flesh in a way that made Tino grunt under her.

Jesus, she was going to come just from him touching her.

Not only come, but come hard. He touched her in exactly the right way, and it had been so long, so very long, she had almost forgotten how easy pleasure was for Tino.

Too easy.

Yet she was still moaning and pushing against his hand, letting Tino finger-fuck her to one of those sharp, hard orgasms only he could give her. It made her feel eighteen again, wet and needy and completely careless of anything else in the world but one more touch, another sharp spike of pleasure until she was nothing but a raging ball of need.

He started kissing her neck, encouraging her in a broken combination of Italian and English. “
Sei bellissima.
Do it for me.” He sucked on her earlobe, his voice a low rasp of pleasure. “
Solo io.
” He ran his hand farther up her spine, until he was tangling his fingers in her wet hair and pulling her head back. Then he leaned down, sucking on one of her tits, his teeth tugging at one sensitive nipple before he whispered, “
Solo noi.

She came, brazenly, in a way she forgot she could, with one of those bone-deep orgasms that made her entire body quake from the force of it. She bit her lip to keep from screaming as her pussy clenched around Tino’s fingers, and she dug her nails deeper into his shoulders.

Tino rode out the storm with her, until she fell over him, now extra touchy-feely as the pleasure waned out to tiny jolts of bliss because his fingers were still in her, and she was still tightening her muscles around them just to cherish the fading tide of ecstasy.

She caressed his back, savoring the feel of slick muscles that were still tight with pent-up desire. Then she pulled back a little, staring down between their bodies, admiring the way his tan hand looked over the smooth lines of her pussy, watching the water running down the deep ridges of his abdominal muscles.

She touched the O in the
Omertà
tattoo lovingly.

Brianna was the one to pull Tino’s hand away from her. She tightened her hold on his wrist as she met his dark gaze. Then she slowly brought his hand to her mouth, entranced with the way his breath caught as she sucked his sticky fingers. His eyelids fell to half-mast as he let out a low groan. Then he fisted her hair with his other hand and pushed his fingers in deeper, letting her suck them.

It was dirty as fuck.

But sexy as hell.

And it reminded Brianna exactly why she had lost herself to this man.

Tasting herself on him, seeing his reaction to it, she was aching again. Desperate. Wet and empty without him in her. Wanting so much more, she forgot about the rest of it. The hit men and the price on her head. Her life back in New York. His life back in Kentucky.

It just didn’t fucking matter.

Nothing mattered but igniting that spark that had once made them beautiful together, if only for a moment, and who cared if they were nothing but a smear of ash in the morning.

Right then they were a firework.

Tino obviously needed it as badly as she did, color and love and passion after what felt like a lifetime of sex that was cold at best and cruel at worst. He slipped his fingers out of her mouth, only to use his hold on her hair to force her lips to his. She went to him, openmouthed, letting him lick her taste off her tongue.

She grabbed his cock, the thickness of it at once foreign and comforting. She’d forgotten just how big he was, so wide her fingers didn’t touch at the base. She had to stroke him a few times to savor the feeling of having him in her hand again. He made that low groan of pleasure in the back of his throat and kissed her deeper, holding her hair tighter as if he needed an outlet.

“It’s okay.” He grunted against her lips. “The fights. I test for them. I wouldn’t with anyone else. I promise. It’s good.
Solo tu. Solo noi.

She pulled back and looked at him, arching an eyebrow. He tended to say things in Italian he didn’t want her to understand. She touched his lips, tracing them with the pads of her fingers, knowing the lifetime of lies they held back.

“Only you,” he repeated, making her realize he was translating the Italian. “Only us. That’s it.”

She rose up and then lowered herself over him slowly, letting him stretch her and fill her to the point that the pleasure was electric. It made her sensitive to every nuance of movement, but she couldn’t seem to stop wanting more.

“Cazzo.” Tino dropped his head back against the wall. “Oh fuck, Bri. Shit.” He wrapped his other arm around her waist, before he used his hold on her hair to pull her mouth back to his. “You still fit me. Only me.”

“Only you,” she promised, even if to others it might sound like a lie.

To them it made perfect sense.

This splintering, consuming ecstasy as the slide of Tino’s cock made every nerve ending in her dance with desire. It was like they were made to be with each other, to click back into place like two lost puzzle pieces finally finding their way home.

Brianna was breathless with the rising need, the fragments of pleasure spearing through her as she sat over him. It was so overwhelming; the two of them had to just sit there, connected and shaking.

They didn’t quickly try to dismiss the ache. They clung to it, prolonging it for as long as they could, yet neither of them could deny it completely. She arched against him instinctively, with her face buried in the curve of his neck and Tino’s fingers still fisted tightly in her hair. He used his hold on the small of her back to push her into the next short, shallow thrust, forcing her clit against him just right. She bit him on impulse, muffling her gasp.

“Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.” Tino’s hips jerked up, still nothing more than a small grab for pleasure rather than greedily snatching the whole thing. “Fuck, Bri, you feel good.”

God, he felt good too.

But words were already past her. All she could do was feel him in her, filling her out to the point that every breath was a shimmer of bliss, every movement a ripple of satisfaction.

It was like that for a long time, enough to have both of them panting with the need to come as the steam welled up around them. It gave Tino’s skin a salty, masculine tang she’d missed so profoundly she ended up licking and sucking at his neck, listening to him, tasting him, soaking in the sensory overload of being with him again.

She wanted to stay like this forever, trapped between heaven and hell in this fiery, sensual purgatory paved with good intentions and drowning in sin.

But then Tino slipped his hand between their bodies, sliding his fingers down to feel the friction of him going in and out of her as she moved over him with the same shallow, teasing movements she’d been doing since they started. He traced his fingers over the lips of her pussy that were stretched around him, and then found her clit.

She moaned as the need coiled stronger, making the throb for release impossible to deny. He kept touching her, and she couldn’t help but get greedy, moving over him faster with soft, broken gasps. He was moaning too, pushing his hips up to meet her halfway, and sensing the crack in his steely self-control only fueled the flames.

There was something about hearing Tino’s pleasure that always set her on fire. Maybe because she wanted it for him so desperately, a little peace, a moment of pure joy, no matter how short-lived.

She bit at the curve of his neck again. Her nails were sharp in his shoulders, because Tino never minded war wounds like that.

In fact, she was fairly certain they turned him on.

She just tried not to think about why.

She didn’t think about anything but the rising tide of ecstasy that swept them up, until they were both fighting for the release instead of trying to prolong it.

When it happened, she was shocked by the sheer ferocity of it. It slammed into her hard enough to steal her breath, pulling the world out from under her until all she knew was the throbbing, blinding release that spiraled into her veins and consumed her.

She was still shaking, gasping into the curve of Tino’s neck, when he jerked under her with a choked curse in Italian. The way he held on to her and pushed his hips against hers so tightly she could feel the warm pulse of his climax inside her had Brianna hitting a second high she wasn’t expecting.

They stayed there in their steamy purgatory for a while, swept up in pleasure, clinging to each other like no one else existed, but eventually the world righted itself under her again. Making her feel the tile against her knees and the hot water against her back.

“Fuck,” Tino whispered once the two of them started to catch their breath. “Jesus, Bri. I forgot. I forgot what this was like.”

“Yeah,” she whispered against his ear, still wrapped around him. “I forgot too.” It’d been so long since sex was something nice. Since she felt loved and protected and adored in a man’s arms. She clung to him tighter, afraid he would somehow get away from her again. “I just wanna stay here forever. Let me stay here, Tino,” she pleaded, not caring if she sounded needy. “Promise me I can stay here.”

Tino forced her back, until she was staring at him, his image blurred from the tears and hazed in steam like a mirage.

“How about we finish this shower, and then I spend all night making up for lost time?” He ran a thumb over her bottom lip softly, in a caress that had her parting to him on instinct. “Sound good?”

It did sound good, so she nodded, not noticing until it was too late that he didn’t agree to forever.

He never did.

Chapter Seven

The hotel had towels folded nice and neat in the bathroom, but Tino and Brianna didn’t use them.

Instead Tino jerked the comforter off the bed, and then the two of them fell into it, still wet, a little too cold, but he didn’t bother to notice anything other than Brianna under him. Her long hair clinging to her neck, her pale skin beaded with water and prickled with goose bumps as he leaned down and sucked on one pink nipple peeking out through wet red strands.

Brianna threaded her fingers into his hair, holding him there as she arched and moaned. The sound ricocheted through Tino like lightning, because he had almost forgotten this feeling, had tried really hard not to think about it once Brianna was married, to keep himself from taking a long walk off a tall building.

On good days sex had become something that made him useful. He couldn’t love another woman. Brianna had been gone to him forever, but maybe he could make another woman feel desired, appreciated, if not adored. Beautiful, if not loved.

On bad days, he reverted to his youth, letting himself be used and hurt and abused.

Tino wished he could say there were more good days than bad, but he always had a special gift for finding women who were good at reminding him of why he was here.

As an outlet for others’ sins.

There’d been times when he’d tried to convince himself it wasn’t true. He tried to believe he was more than that, but reality usually showed up and put him in his place pretty fucking fast.

And as sick as it was, he’d come to terms with that. They could hurt him to control Nova. He could lose all sense of dignity to keep Romeo and Carina safe. They could do just about anything to him, and it was all right because he was the expendable brother.

Not smart like Nova.

Not famous like Romeo.

Not insanely talented like Carina.

He was just Tino.

But there had been one thing.

One perfect, beautiful thing that made him feel like life wasn’t quite so mean.

Brianna made Tino feel like he mattered.

He surged up and captured her lips because he couldn’t resist, not when the emotion was welling up inside him, making him feel like he might collapse under it. He cupped her face with his hands so that they were chest to chest, naked and exposed without anything between them when everything in the world had tried to keep them apart.

Ti amo.
” He said it solemnly, like the prayer of a man who was taught to appreciate sovereignty when it was in front of him. “I love you so much.”

She pushed his wet hair away from his face and stared at him with soft green eyes. “I love you too.”

He had this urge to break down, not just over her pain, but over his too. Everything that happened in Miami came back and hit him in the heart. Instead he kissed Brianna’s neck, softer, more reverently, looking for atonement for his sins, because the church hadn’t helped.

So he worshipped at his real altar.

His only true altar.

And thank God Brianna let him, because he had never needed her more than he did right then. Having her in his arms again was a fucking miracle. It almost gave him a reason to hope that maybe he hadn’t been abandoned after all.

That somehow, somewhere, there was someone above still on his side.

He sucked on her tits again, loving the way Brianna completely surrendered to it. Knees bent, thighs wide on the bed, leaving her open to his indulgence. She threaded her fingers in his hair as she arched under him, wild and untamed like they had both been at eighteen, because this high wasn’t something that could be powdered and sold.
