Lorne closed his eyes to savor the
sensation, but he couldn’t keep them shut for long. He took in the
beautiful sight before him, memorizing it. A light sheen of sweat
coated Davin’s body. The lean muscle of years ago had been replaced
by the solid bulk of manhood. Davin had grown taller than Lorne,
his shoulders broader and his chest muscles more defined. Lorne
loved kissing and licking those muscles every night. Davin pumped
his cock faster, and Lorne’s eyes focused there. He first pictured
his prince coming, but then other thoughts came. He imagined Eva
coming to them and straddling Davin, giving Lorne the perfect view
of Davin’s cock gliding into her pussy as Davin caressed her ass.
Another vision hit him, one of Eva facing the other way as she
straddled Lorne’s chest, pushing her body back to take Davin’s cock
as her breasts bounced in Lorne’s face.
Lorne practically growled as he
reached out and pushed Davin’s hand away from his cock, taking over
for him. “Let me, my prince.”
Davin smiled as he rolled his hips to
fuck Lorne’s hand. “Thinking of her? Picturing it?”
Lorne nodded.
“
We truly are one, my
love.” Davin threw his head back and moaned, cum shooting from his
shaft. He jerked forward to milk himself in Lorne’s grasp, but then
he ground onto Lorne as well.
Lorne released him and
grabbed his hips, thrusting up hard. Davin repeated the word
yes
over and over again
as Lorne took his pleasure. Lorne cried out as he spilled, filling
his lover. The ecstasy of it made him tremble, and he drew Davin
down for a kiss. They held each other a long time, still joined,
kissing and murmuring words of love. As many times as he’d spilled
in Davin’s hand or come down his throat, he had never felt such
joy, such a sense of completeness.
“
If she says no, we’ll let
her watch us make love,” Davin whispered. “That would seduce
anyone.”
Lorne laughed. “You’re breathtaking,
Davin.”
The prince smiled. “When we’re with
her in bed, always use my name. I love it so much.”
“
As you wish.”
Davin shifted, and Lorne’s cock slid
out of him. He then settled on top of Lorne, his head over the
other man’s heart. Lorne played with his hair. “Sleep. Tomorrow’s
important.”
“
Wake me in an hour, so
that I can take you.” He placed one kiss on Lorne’s
chest.
“
If I remember,” Lorne
teased.
Davin laughed. “I daresay you’ll wake
me much sooner.”
Lorne wrapped his arms around Davin
and closed his eyes. He still did not have Davin’s confidence, but
with his prince by his side, he knew he would have the courage to
offer his heart—to offer their hearts—to the woman who had long ago
unknowingly staked her claim.

Lorne’s head came up sharply when
Davin slapped his hands. “And what was that for?” He shifted on the
couch in the common room between their private chambers, wondering
what he’d done. Had he been daydreaming? His mind couldn’t seem to
focus at the moment.
Davin rolled his eyes and gently
kissed Lorne. “Stop fidgeting. You’re not the virgin bride about to
be ravished by two virile men,” Davin quipped.
Lorne held his tongue, knowing Davin
would not like what he had to say.
“
If you keep that look on
your face, Eva will run away from us,” Davin said.
In one last effort to get Davin to
understand his feelings, Lorne said, “Please stop being so
flippant. I never thought anyone could hurt me but you. But I know
now exactly how much her rejection could hurt. It’s not like when
we first met and she was afraid of me. Those small slights could be
shrugged off, gotten over.”
“
She won’t reject us. I
don’t think we’d feel this way if it wasn’t meant to
be.”
Lorne let his breath out in an
exasperated huff and leveled a stern gaze at Davin. “I love you so
much, but I wish I could pound some reason and logic into that head
of yours.”
Davin moved closer and ran a hand up
Lorne’s thigh. “You can pound away after we get this matter
settled.”
Lorne stopped Davin’s hand before it
reached his cock. “Eva will be here soon,” he whispered. Davin
smiled at him, and Lorne softened a little. “I knew you’d be
insatiable.”
Davin laughed. “I can’t stop thinking
about how you—”
The door opened, and Davin fell silent
as a servant brought Eva in. She smiled at them both, beaming at
Davin as she bowed to him. Once the servant had left, Davin rose
and went to her, taking her by both hands and leading her to the
couch. The prince made her sit between them, and he smiled and
winked at Lorne over her head as he sat down.
“
How are you today?” Davin
asked.
“
I’m fine. What’s going
on? I thought it was something to do with your celebration, but
then the servant led me here,” Eva said.
Davin grasped one of her hands. “We
want to talk to you about something very important.”
Eva glanced at Lorne, apprehension
entering her eyes. “All right.” She looked back to Davin. “Is
something wrong?”
“
In a way. There’s
something Lorne and I need.”
Lorne cursed himself for not making
Davin go over what he planned to say. He felt disaster looming over
their heads.
“
My prince, may I say
something first?” Lorne asked.
Davin eyed him. “Maybe.”
Eva looked back and forth between them
again, laughing. “You’re playing a trick on me. Is this something
special for the coming of age party?”
“
No,” Davin said, “but it
is related to me coming of age.”
Lorne held up a hand. “Davin, please,
if I may?”
Davin sobered a bit and nodded. “Go
ahead.”
Eva looked to Lorne, a hint of worry
still in her eyes.
“
I was just curious about
something, before we go on.” He shifted, bracing himself for her
reaction. “You know what my function is concerning Davin, but do
you know how that will change when he marries?”
Eva tilted her head. “No, but I
suppose you’ll have less to do. Or maybe more. Will you watch over
the children as well?” She shrugged. “Since I never knew the king’s
yabito, I guess I never gave it any thought.”
Lorne glanced at Davin, who finally
looked a bit nervous. Turning back to Eva, he said, “Our
relationship’s very unique, very close.” He shifted again. “I’m not
only his friend and adviser and protector. I’m also … his
lover.”
Eva’s eyes went wide, and she gave a
little exclamation before slapping her hand over her mouth. She
squeezed Davin’s hand with her other, which he still held. “You’re
gay? Oh, I might’ve guessed.” She laughed. “It makes sense now, the
way you look at him,” she said to Lorne. She sighed and jokingly
said, “Well, there go my chances.”
Lorne thought he caught a touch of
sadness in her eyes, but to her credit, she pushed it away quickly,
if it had in fact been there at all. He admired that, thinking it
would be just like her to push her pain away to keep from hurting
someone she loved.
“
No, Eva, you don’t
understand. We aren’t
gay
, as you put it,” Davin said.
“Your
chance
, to
borrow your word, isn’t gone.” He got down on his knees. “I’ve been
told this is what human men do.”
Eva stared at him. “What are you
talking about?”
Lorne groaned inwardly as he watched
Davin skipping ahead of all explanations.
“
Marry us, Eva. We’re both
in love with you.”
Lorne had to actually bite his tongue
to keep from lashing out at Davin.
Eva yanked her hand away.
“What?”
“
Our prince is racing to
the finish line, as usual,” Lorne said as Eva turned to
him.
“
Then please explain,
Lorne. I don’t understand,” Eva said, her breath coming more
rapidly now.
Trying to be concise, Lorne said, “To
ensure the royal line and make sure the princess, who will one day
be queen, never wants for love and protection, a prince and his
yabito … share a bride. All three are lovers. We would make a life
together as equal partners. Even if one of us died, you would still
have a husband, your children a father.”
“
So you two are already
lovers?” Eva asked.
“
Yes,” Lorne said, “it’s a
very intimate relationship. A prince, and a king, can trust no one
else to put his best interests first the way he can someone who
loves him completely. I know it’s foreign to you.”
“
Damn right it is!” Eva
said, standing up and pushing past Davin. She stopped a few feet
away and rounded on them. “I guess I’ve been in denial, but you two
are obviously in love with each other. Do you just need babies? Is
that all?”
Davin rose to his feet. “No. We need
the woman we’re both in love with.”
Eva stared into Davin’s eyes. “In
love?”
“
Yes. Both of us,” Davin
said. “Like I just said.” That comment made Lorne want to roll his
eyes, as it was obvious the words
marry
us
had stopped anything else from
registering with Eva.
Eva’s eyes went to Lorne. “Both of
you?”
Lorne stood up and went to stand with
them. “Yes. I’m in love with you. I hid it because the prince is
the one who chooses. I have no say unless he asks me. I gave him no
hints because his happiness comes before mine. He guessed
though.”
“
Because you two know each
other so well,” she said, her voice dull.
“
Yes,” Davin said, cupping
her chin to make her look at him. “We love you and want to marry
you. Lorne was smart enough to realize this would be overwhelming.
Forgive me for being so blind.”
Eva searched Davin’s face. “I love you
so much … but…” She turned away.
Lorne lowered his eyes to the floor,
readying his heart for the words that would crush it.
* * * *
Davin didn’t move. “Tell us, please.”
He wanted to pull Eva to him and finally kiss her, but he knew
better than to try to force it. He’d already made enough of a mess,
and he was sure he’d get an earful from Lorne later.
Eva turned back around. “I don’t
understand. How is there room for me? I know you both love me, but
how can you be in love with each other and still need
me?”
“
It’s always been our
destiny, but we got lucky. We fell in love with the same woman.
Sometimes, the yabito simply has to live with his prince’s choice.
I was so happy when I realized Lorne loved you too. I saw it
because, as I fell for you as well, I paid very close
attention.”
Lorne touched his shoulder. “That does
not answer Eva’s question.”
Eva gave Lorne a tense smile. “Listen
to him. He’s right. I’m asking how this will work, how a heart can
work that way.”
Lorne massaged Davin’s shoulder as he
spoke. “I pride myself on logic, yet I don’t question it. I grew to
love Davin quickly,” he turned to Eva, “and it was the same with
you. Davin was already my entire world, yet I couldn’t stop
thinking of you from the moment I saw you. My love for you is the
same as my love for him, yet it’s different as well. I could be
happy with either of you, yet I know I would be happiest with both
of you. Sharing everything.” He stood and went to her, gently
taking her hand. “There’s always room for love when that love is
selfless, when it focuses on the happiness of others.”
“
So it would be selfish of
me to say I didn’t want to share Davin with you?” Eva asked. Her
words came out soft, but she watched Lorne closely.
“
No. This is new to you.
We want you to know that all would be equal. You’d never be pushed
aside or left out.” Lorne released her hand. “I also would never
force my attentions on you. I would never be jealous of you. I’d
rather see you two happy than see you apart.”
Davin came forward. “No! That’s not
what I want.”
“
You can’t command her to
say yes! There’s no law literally saying she must make love to me
or share you. I will step aside if I must so you can have the bride
you want.”
“
Shut up! It’s unheard
of!” Davin said.
“
How would you know? It’s
a private matter. We have no way of knowing how far any of your
ancestors ever went.”
“
Stop fighting like I’m
not here!” Eva screamed.
They both stopped and looked at her.
Her hands were balled into fists at her side, and tears ran down
her face.
“
Forgive us, please,”
Lorne said.
“
I’m sorry too.” Davin ran
a hand down his face. “What Lorne is offering is noble, but I can’t
agree to it. I love you, Eva, but I love him too. I want the three
of us together, as is traditional. I want us to laugh and love
together. And yes, to make love together. To raise children
together. I was foolish to think I could just spring this on you.”
He paused and looked to her. “Tell us what you think, what you
want.”
