The Hero's Companion (The Hunter Legacy) (8 page)

The Mage-King's books

Starship Mage, by Glynn Stewart. Instead of
the FTL or jump drive, space travel between star systems is done by rune driven
magic.

Magician, by Raymond Feist. Travel between
worlds is done by the use of a rift through space and time. Same principle as a
jump point or a space gate, but instead is located on a planet and people can
walk straight through.

Jack Deth

Jack Deth was a character in the Trancers
square and flat screen movie series. He travelled to the past, using a drug
which shifted his consciousness into one of his ancestors, giving him control
of their bodies while he was there.

Miriam description, by Thirteen

Miriam looks like Nicole De Boer, as she
was in Star Trek Deep Space Nine.
Only projecting a lot
more authority and command presence.

Corridor Dreams

The Corridor from which Jon dreams he walks
down, was an actual corridor in the hotel the author stayed in, whilst in
Abadania Brazil in 2016. The sequences mostly happened to him, as he himself
walked the corridor, and he wrote them immediately after as Jon's.

Observations about the Author

Jon and I have been trying to get the
author to write these books for a long time now.

The original ideas are more than twenty
years old now, some of which haunted him constantly. For example, his relief at
no longer hearing "Freeze Motherbitch" in his head regularly, once
he'd actually written it, was major.

The author has a migraine. The pain returns
each day, depending on how well his medication keeps it at bay. A side effect
is often a fatigue state. It often slows down the writing process, much more
than he wishes, but writing does require a working brain. Hence he suffers from
periods where he is unable to write.

At this point in time, we all wish we knew
how he wrote books two to five so fast, so we could permanently put him back in
that state.

He also has a more or less permanent limp,
from driving a farm tractor in his late teens. And yes, it's his left knee
which is lame.

Another of his issues is being unable to
raise his right arm above shoulder height, without pain.

He never learnt how to type, so could be
called a "hunt and peck man", using two fingers on one hand, and
three on the other. He is also ambimousetrous.

He lives on the Gold Coast, Australia, and
constantly battles with his cat for possession of his desk chair.

Coffee does indeed make him throw up, and
he drinks Red Bull for the caffeine, Ginger Ale, and bottled water.

He eagerly awaits a female Doctor Who, and
the sound of the Tardis materializing in his house.

Talking of his house, Daleks do guard duty,
and he keeps his sonic screwdriver next to his lightsaber and wand.
