Besides Vince Orlando, McDonough interviewed a variety of other people, including Johnny Orlando, Joe Cronin, Tom Yawkey, Ted Lepcio, and Williams’s roommate, Charlie Wagner. The book was aborted, but copies of McDonough’s interviews were among Williams’s papers made available to the author by his daughter, Claudia. Some of the interviews first appeared in Montville,
Ted Williams
—after Montville obtained them from Pope.)
