The Perfect Match: A New Adult Erotic Romance (Inseparable Book 2) (11 page)

“I hope Miss Cathy is working today,” Jen said as they got out of the car. “She’s is very nice, you know.” Kurt saw the serious look on Jen’s face and realized this was the fourth time she mentioned Miss Cathy.
She’s tryin’ to set me up, the little minx.

“She is?” he asked innocently.

“Yes, and she said her boyfriend was mean to her, so she doesn’t see him anymore.” Jen obviously thought she was being clever, so Kurt hid his amused grin.

“Come on, hold hands in the parking lot,” he said as he led them to the front entrance. Just inside the doors was a counter, and behind the counter was a lovely blonde in her early twenties beaming a beautiful smile at the girls.

“Yay! Miss Cathy, guess who we brought today?” Lisa said in her loud, excited voice.

“Oh, god, for a second I thought you were Jack,” Cathy said. “You must be Charlotte’s brother, Kurt. I’m Cathy Grayson.”

“That’s me. I don’t suppose she talked me up, did she?” Kurt said as he shook her hand.

“No, you’re going to have to sell yourself to me,” she said, giving him the kind of forward smile that told him he wouldn’t have to work too hard.

The girls were busy taking off their shoes and stuffing them into a cubby along the wall. Jen was having a hard time because she was also obviously eavesdropping on their conversation.

“I ain’t so great at that,” he said, letting go of her hand. “I’m sort of a take-me-as-you-find-me kind of guy, but I bet we could work something out.”

She blushed a little and nodded, “I bet we could at that.”

“What do I owe you for the girls to play?” he asked, reaching for his wallet.

“They belong to the Family Club,” she said as the girls ran off. Jen looked back with a sly smile that made Kurt chuckle. She asked, “What’s so funny?”

“My cousin has been singin’ your praises the whole ride in. I think she’s playin’ matchmaker.”

“We’re not busy right now,” she said, leaning over the counter a little. “If you wanted to hang out, I mean.”

Jack looked back and nodded. Polly was a lost cause, so there was no use in trying any more. Cathy was a breath of fresh air, untainted by Kendall or Trey. “So tell me about yourself,” Kurt prompted as he leaned closer.

“Well, I work here during the day and at a bar called Dave and Buster’s at night. It’s like an arcade for grown-ups, with bowling and video games.”

“Hey, that sounds like a fun place,” Kurt said with enthusiasm. “Do you ever go there when you’re off?”

“Oh, yeah, it’s off the chain,” she said. “My roommate and I are heading up there tonight if you’re free.”

“That sounds like just what I need,” Kurt said, mostly to himself.

The girls played for a couple of hours while Kurt chatted with Cathy off and on the whole time. She seemed a little immature in a way, but he liked her charm and easy-going personality. By the time he was ready to leave he had her phone number and the address of bar in his phone. There was a look of promise in her eyes that made him flush as the girls pulled him out the door to go eat lunch.

K
urt got ready in the girls’ bathroom, staring at the explosion of bath toys and pink accented decor with grin. He had wanked in the shower to reduce his tension level, washed himself carefully in case he got lucky, and was shaving off the last few days of stubble to look his best. Combing through his hair before the gel set, he finished up by brushing his teeth and giving his black collared shirt one final tug.

“Are you
ever
coming out of the bathroom,” his sister Charlotte said through the door.

“Why?” he asked. “You got somewhere to be?” Opening the door, she looked up at him as her scowl changed to surprise.

“Holy crap,” she said with a chuckle. “If you weren’t my brother
I’d
date you!”

“Thanks,” he answered, feeling his face get hot. “It’s not too late, you can still come if you want.”

“Naw,” she said. “I don’t want to cramp your style. Aunt Julie says her friend Cathy is nice though. She wants us to do a girls night out on Friday, so I’ll get to meet her and go see the place then.”

Kurt came out into the living room to find everyone watching some kid’s movie. Polly was sitting next to Julie in the middle of a quiet discussion, but he ignored her wide-eyed stare when looked up at him. “Well, I’ll see you guys later.”

“Holy crap, Kurt,” Julie exclaimed as she got up from the couch with a grin. She straightened his collar and leaned close to whisper, “I put in a good word for you with Cathy when she called. We go
way
back, so I bet you’ll have fun tonight.”

“Cathy called you?” he asked with a worried expression on his face. “What did you say?”

“Don’t worry,” Julie said, but she wouldn’t look at his eyes. Kurt hoped she didn’t mention his obsession over Polly or him drinking himself to sleep, but pity sex was still sex. “I just filled her in on a few things, that’s all.”

“Thanks for everything,” he whispered as he moved to leave. His phone rang before he got to the door, so he stopped behind the couch to take the call.

“This is Kurt,” he said, not recognizing the number.

“Kurt, my name is Bo Tidewell and I’m the master of the
Tres Jolie
. Did Evan Johnson give you a call already?”

“No, sir, the last message I got was right after I accepted the offer telling me to wait for someone to call me back.”

“Well, I guess I’m that someone. Evan suggested I shake you down to see what you can do. I’m gonna be heading out for an overnight delivery tomorrow and wanted to try you out as my first mate for the trip.”

“Sounds perfect to me, Mr. Tidewell. What time should I be at the dock?”

“I’ll be there about seven, so if you want to impress me, be waiting when I get there.” He said it with a jovial tone, but Kurt could tell he was serious.

“Aye-aye sir, I’ll be there ready to work.”

“Good, see you in the morning,” he said and rung off.

Jack had come to stand next to him while he was on the phone and asked quietly, “Which one was it?”

“Johnson and Abernathy,” Kurt said. “We’re in.”

“Perfect,” Jack said with a grin. “Phase II.”

“Phase II,” Kurt echoed and slipped out the door.

D
ave and Buster’s was huge and the sounds of music and games were overwhelming. Kurt wandered around with his hands in his pockets looking for Cathy, but after fifteen minutes of squeezing through the crowds he gave up looking for her in favor of drinking a beer.

He sat at the bar closest to the front entrance and signaled the bartender. “What’ll ya’ have?” he asked, projecting his voice over the noise.

“Bud long-neck,” Kurt said and dug his wallet out of his back pocket. Slipping out his lone credit card, he passed it over and said, “Can I run a tab?”

“Sure,” he said as he put the cold beer down and took the card. “I’ll hang on to it until you’re ready to close out.”

“Sounds good. Thanks,” Kurt said as he sat back and took a long pull on the bottle.

His thoughts circled the same well-worn path they had the last few weeks. Even though it was clear to Kurt that Polly had decided to take Trey up on his interest, he still couldn’t get her out of his mind. Every attempt he’d made to get to know her better had failed because of Trey, Kendall, or his own quick temper.

Gritting his teeth in frustration, he pushed thoughts of Polly away to focus on the crowd around him. After a few more minutes he saw Cathy and another girl coming through the crowd towards him. Cathy looked much hotter than she had earlier and her friend was a knock-out as well.

“Kurt!” She called and waved, then leaned over to whisper something to her friend who laughed and nodded. When they got close enough to talk she said, “This is my roommate Camden Halloway. Camden,
this
is Kurt.”

“Nice to meet you,” Camden said as she took his hand. She was a tiny little thing, under five feet tall and slim as a boy. There was no mistaking her gender though, because the form-fitting shirt, short skirt, and leggings left nothing to the imagination. And what her breasts lacked in size, they made up for in perk.

“My pleasure,” Kurt said, then turned to hug Cathy who was already putting her arms around his neck.

Cathy was wearing a short, deep green dress that hugged her figure. She was taller than Camden by a hand and had more curves, but her toned legs showed she was equally fit. Kurt expected a friendly hug, but the scent of alcohol hit him right before her lips pressed firmly against his. Despite his shock, he kissed her back, tasting the fruity residue of whatever she’d been drinking on her tongue.

“My pleasure,” Kurt said again as she pulled back with a laugh. He had to adjust the growing problem in his pants to the delight of both women.

“I’ve been telling Camden all about you,” Cathy said as she put her arm over Camden’s shoulder to pull her in close with them. “She didn’t believe me when I told her how hot you were.”

Kurt laughed at her comment and hugged them both. “Well, I’m glad I didn’t disappoint you.”

“He’s modest, too,” Camden said as she took his beer from his hand and polished it off.

“So which one of y’all is the designated driver?” he asked when she handed him the empty bottle back.

“You are,” Camden said with a laugh as she took his hand. “Let’s go play!”

Kurt spent entirely too much money on drinks and games, but couldn’t refuse his playful companions anything. They played a few games of pool, shot some video game zombies, bowled a frame on the lanes, and finished up with darts. He’d stuck to water after that first beer, expecting to have to pour them both home from the amount they each drank.

He was surprised at how sober they seemed as he led them to his car, but back in his wilder years he was able to drink enormous amounts without any signs of intoxication. He opened the passenger door as both girls climbed into the front seat together, Camden sitting on Cathy’s lap, whispering together whatever secrets drunk girls tell each other.

“Okay, y’all need to show me where to go,” he said as he started the engine. The smooth vibrations of the car’s motor stilled their private conversation at once.

“Oh my god,” Cathy moaned. “Rev the engine!” Kurt smirked at her reaction, then goosed the gas pedal. She bit her lip as she turned to look at him. “I
love
your car.”

Camden pouted and said, “No fair! I couldn’t really feel it.”

“You can sit in the back if you want,” Kurt said playfully.

“No way, we still haven’t decided and I’m
not
leaving you up here with her.”

“Decided what?” he asked, hoping he already knew the answer.

Camden leaned over and looked deep in his eyes. “I bet a smart guy like you already knows the answer to that,” she said and kissed him softly before Cathy could pull her back.

“No cheating!” Cathy growled.

“I’m still playing catch-up after that first one,” Camden said, shifting to put her arm around Cathy’s shoulder. “Here, I’ll give it back to you.”

Kurt watched as the two girls kissed briefly, his foot slipping accidentally to rev the engine again making them both grin. “Sorry,” he said, silently blessing his luck.

“Take us home,” Cathy demanded. “Go left out the parking lot, and hurry.”

Following their instructions, Kurt drove to their apartment with a grin affixed to his face.
Unbelievable
, he thought to himself as the two girls discussed the various ways they intended to share him.

After making it through the door in once piece, the girls each took a hand and drew him to one of the bedrooms featuring a messy queen-sized bed. The floor was covered with clothes and every flat surface had some kind of lotion, hair product, cosmetic, or accessory. Cathy stepped over piles into the bathroom while Camden dragged all the bed covers to the foot of the bed and climbed up to stand on the bed.

“We’ve decided to share you,” she said as she pulled her shirt off to expose her small breasts with even smaller nipples. She pushed her tights and skirt off together and tossed the lot in the corner of the room without a glance. Her slim body was muscled, with a flat stomach and pierced navel. Completely hairless below her neck, Kurt could see her long inner lips extending below and glistening with moisture.

Cathy came back naked to wrap her arms around him from behind, unbuckling his belt and opening his pants. Camden bounced off the bed to tug his shirt up and over his head. When Cathy gasped, Kurt and Camden both looked down to see her holding his heavy shaft in both hands.

“Holy shit,” Camden muttered, lifting his swollen head to examine it fully. “It’s a big job, but I’m willing if you are.”

“Yeah,” Cathy breathed against his back. “This is gonna be a
long
night.”

Kurt couldn’t help chuckling as they pulled him onto the bed together. “Don’t I get a say in this?”

“Do you want to go?” Camden asked, suddenly serious. “I wouldn’t want anyone to think we took advantage of you.”

“Oh, no, I’m happy to help,” he said and pulled her down to kiss her grinning mouth. While he rubbed his hands over her back and ass, Cathy began to lick up and down his shaft, stopping at the top to swirl her tongue around his head.

Disappearing into the moment, Kurt rolled Camden on her side to be able to play with her body. Her mouth was glued to his, eating his lips and tongue in a frenzy while he pinched her tiny nipples to draw them erect. Moving his hand down her stomach, he pushed her legs apart to rake his fingers along her thighs and around her wet opening.

“Oh, yes,” she moaned into his mouth, while Cathy began to take him into hers. He reached over to rub Cathy’s shoulders while he continued to kiss Camden. Because he stopped touching her, Camden began to rub her wet slit along his leg, grinding harder as her breathing changed.

“I want this inside me,” Cathy muttered and rolled over to the night stand. She had a condom on him in moments and straddled his stomach while Camden shifted around to straddle his chest.

“Can you do two things at once?” Camden asked, lowering herself towards his open mouth.
