“Miles…” I held
back the sob I could feel coming up through my throat.

“My son is off
limits. He is not your business and you don’t know anything about him and me.
Just because you have a piece of paper that gives you a brief overview of my
history doesn’t mean you know jack.

“That’s why I came
to confront you that night. I was pissed you invaded my privacy and I had to show
you how wrong that was. The only reason I didn’t quit right then and there was
because you would have thought it was because I saw you and Rachel. I couldn’t
let that happen. You needed to know my leaving had nothing to do with you and
Rachel; it had everything to do with you. Just you and the fact that you think
you’re entitled to know everything.

“I’ve decided to
stay as long as you don’t bring up anything you’re not suppose to know about. I
need this job but the minute you bring up my history I‘m out. My past is buried
and it needs to stay that way.  Do we have an understanding?”

I felt like a
six-day weight had been lifted off my shoulders. Sebastian was still lightly
running his hand through his hair when I said this. I knew I threw a bunch of
shit on him but it had to be said. In order for me to work for him I had to get
everything out in the open.

It felt like an
eternity before he spoke.

“So what your
saying is that you didn’t care that you walked in on me fucking Rachel on my
desk?” Sebastian had the hugest grin on his face. He knew what he was doing and
he knew I knew it too.

“I just spilled my
heart out to you and that’s all you got out the conversation?” Did he not
listen to a word I said?

“I understand, the
rest of what you said I understand. I was out of line and I am sorry. You won’t
have to worry about me bringing up any of that shit to you. I know it is not my
business.”

Okay. That made me
feel a whole lot better and I felt like maybe things could be good between us.
Maybe Sebastian and I could actually become friends.

“Come over here
and I’ll kiss you to make it all better.” he started to walk my way, “Even
better, I’ll come to you.”

Apparently I spoke
to soon on the friend thing. Sebastian was back to his flirty, sexual self and
I needed to cool him down… fast.

When he was about
six inches from my face, I put my hand on his chest to stop him from coming any
further.

“Friends,
Sebastian. All we can ever be is friends, and I want to be your friend. You
have to understand that I will never be the girl who will have casual sex with
my friends. Although I don’t have any experience in how to have a relationship,
I do know one thing, I am all about monogamy.”

He lifted an
eyebrow and slightly opened his mouth as if to say something but then closed it
quickly. He eyes were gentle and he took in my face before speaking.

“Okay we can be
friends.” His right arm lifted and tucked a piece of my hair, which had fallen
on my face, behind my ear. His touch gave me that all to familiar feeling
throughout my body. Was I ever going to not be affected by this beautiful man?

I hoped so and I
need it to happen soon.

“Why don’t I give
you that tour now so we can both get to our work for the day?” His hand was
still on the side of my head as he spoke. It felt really nice to be touched in
such a delicate way.

“That sounds
great,” I said while letting out a deep breath. Sebastian then lowered his hand
and instructed me to follow him.

The tour only
lasted about twenty minutes. He gave very little detail as we entered each
room. He just wanted me to get the lay of the land. Everything went smoothly
until we got to the last room, his wife’s room.

He explained that
Darcy’s room was off limits. She didn’t want anyone on the staff snooping
through her things. He explained that Darcy was hardly ever here but she was a
very private person. If she found out I was in her room, she would have me
fired.

Once we were
finished he brought me back to the supply room so I could start my first day at
work. The room was white with built in cabinets and shelves that housed
hundreds of different cleaning products. I turned towards him waiting for him
to leave so I could start cleaning.

Sebastian was
leaning against the doorframe. He was looking at me thoughtfully and I felt my
heart flutter. “I was thinking, maybe we should start working on this friends
thing. I like the idea of having someone to hang out with who lives on the
property.”

I loved that he
was considering what I offered him earlier in the kitchen. I wanted to be
Sebastian’s friend. I knew we could never be anything more so I wanted to take
what I could get from him.

“That sounds like
a great idea,” I said enthusiastically.

“Well I have
several meetings around town today so I won’t be back to the estate until late.
What if I come by after I get home and we can watch a movie or something?”

A movie sounded a
little too intimate for me. After everything that had happened I knew we should
move slow and approach being friends with caution but I couldn’t say no. There
was a need in me to please Sebastian but I wanted to clarify something before I
said yes to him.

“As friends?”

He gave me that
signature smile of his as he confirmed, “Yes Mia, as friends.”

This made me giddy
inside. I didn’t have to give up Sebastian. Yes, it would be hard to be around
him but I was going to do my best to work past my attraction to him. I was good
at avoiding intimate relationships my entire life; I shouldn’t have a problem
avoiding Sebastian.

“Ok sounds great!
I’ll have popcorn, snacks, and a couple movies ready for when you come by.”
This was going to go well. I could feel it in my bones. Sebastian and I were
going to be great friends.

Some how his smile
spread even larger and I saw something in his eyes that I never saw before. Was
it hope? I wasn’t sure but whatever it was, it scared the crap out of me.

“I’m off to go
shower and get my day going. I have motivation now to finish my day as soon as
possible. Call me or text if you have any issues while you work today.” I
nodded and with that Sebastian turned and walked out of sight.

I scurried around the supply room looking for the dusting products
and laundry detergent I would need for the day. I now had motivation to finish
my day quickly as well. I didn’t waste any time getting to work and I tried
with all my might not to think about my plans with Sebastian that evening.

*****

I arrived back in my room around seven that evening. I was covered
in dried up sweat, my hair was a mess, and I was starving. My stomach growled
at the thought of food but I knew what my first priority needed to be. I had to
get ready before Sebastian got here. Once I was ready I could eat something.

I went to my dresser to grab out some of my clothing before I
hopped in the shower. My dresser was tucked away in the corner of my room. It
was standard black and had six long drawers and two smaller ones at the top. It
was the nicest dresser I had ever used. It had chrome handles and matched the
rest of my bedroom set.

My room was much larger than I was use to. I slept on a twin
mattress at home. Here I had a queen size bed with a nightstand on each side.
All the furnishings were black. My bedding set was white with hand stitched floral
designs all over the comforter. I was very happy with the room I was given.

Now what should I
wear?

As much as I
wanted to look amazing for Sebastian, I was exhausted. I knew I would have no
desire to change into pajamas after he left for the evening so I decided on
comfort over cute.

I grabbed out a
pair of my black yoga pants from my bottom drawer. I had a nice figure and they
were like a second skin on my body. They would definitely draw Sebastian’s
attention to my body.

Not that I wanted
that.

I then went to the
third drawer from the top and grabbed a blue fitted tank top. It was
comfortable and hugged my curves perfectly. My underwear drawer came next and
this is where I would pull out all the stops. I grabbed my black lace push up
bra that made my breasts look good enough to eat. I was blessed with a full
size C rack. It was nothing to write home about but it definitely was enough to
grab any man’s attention.

I dug around the
drawer to find my matching thong and I was set. I had not plans to let
Sebastian see what was underneath my outfit but knowing I was wearing sexy
lingerie underneath would give me confidence.

I brought my
clothes with me into the bathroom that was connected to my room. I turned on
the shower and waited a few minutes for the water to warm up. Then I entered
the shower and let the warm water run over my muscles. It felt amazing. Nothing
was better than a good shower after a hard day at work.

I grabbed the
shampoo and started washing up. My shampoo and conditioner smelt like coconut
and I loved it. It always made me feel clean. After I washed my hair, shaved my
legs, and washed my body I was ready to get out.

When I was drying
myself off I thought I heard a noise coming from outside the door. I waited a
few seconds to see what it was but I was met with silence. Figuring I must have
imagined it, I started to put on my bra, thong, and yoga pants. I pulled my
tank top over my head last. I combed through my hair and decided to leave it
wet to air dry. I quickly brushed my teeth and went into my room to grab my
make-up bag.

I opened the door
to my room and my breath caught in my throat. Sitting on my bed, in front of
me, was a smiling Sebastian. He had his back against the headboard, arms
crossed on his chest, and his legs stretched out in front of him. He was
dressed in fitted jeans and a black fitted t-shirt. He must have taken off his
shoes because he only had a white pair of socks on his feet.

He looked
delicious.

I continued to eat
him up with my eyes. He adjusted his body slightly on my bed. He definitely
knew how to make himself comfortable in someone else’s room.

“So are you going
to continue checking me out or are you going to say hello?” And cocky Sebastian
was back.

”Hi. I wasn’t
expecting you so soon. I thought you said you were working late?” I was still
stunned by how casual he looked sitting on my bed.

“I had incentive
to finish my day early.”  He looked me up and down slowly, “I like the
casual look you got going there. It’s sexy in a less obvious kind of way.”

He paused to lick
his lips, “Your hair is wet and I like it when my woman is wet…”

“Hold it right
there. If you’re going to make tonight dirty then we can end our evening now.
We are supposed to be working on being friends. Dirty jokes are not the way to
start a friendship,” I said sternly.

Sebastian laughed,
“I’m sorry I was just kidding around. We are friends and I don’t want to make
you uncomfortable. I thought a dirty joke might ease a little of the tension
between us.”

He stood up from
the bed and started to approach me by the doorway leading to the bathroom. “Are
you ready to start this movie or what?”

He really was
trying to be friendly.

I walked over to
the other end of my room where I had put the movie I selected. I grabbed it off
my nightstand and showed him the cover. “I thought we could watch this. It’s
one of my favorite movies and I haven’t seen it in awhile.”

He had followed me
across the room so we were standing about a foot away from each other. “
Clueless…
Really? I know I told you to pick a movie but I was expecting something a
little less girly.”

It was my turn to
laugh at him. “I’ll have you know a lot of men enjoy this movie. Plus it’s a
classic. Cher and Dionne are hysterical.”

“If you say so.”

I brought my hands
up to his chest and pushed him gently, “I do, and you’ll love it!”

I moved my hands
back to my sides and smiled at him. “I don’t know about you but I am starving.
I haven’t had time to eat dinner yet so lets go to the kitchen, get something
to drink, make popcorn, and pick out a few other snacks to munch on during the
movie.”

“Sounds like a
well balanced dinner,” He said sarcastically. I was learning to love his
sarcasm. “After you,” He gestured towards my door that led to the hallway.

I walked out in
front of him to the kitchen I shared with the other girls. When we walked into
the kitchen Vanessa was digging through the silverware drawer. She looked up
from the drawer and spotted us, then she shut the door quickly and slowly
started to grin.

“Hi, Mr. Price!”
She shot me a dirty look and nodded in my direction, “Mia.”

“Hello Vanessa, is
there something we can help you find in one of the drawers?” Sebastian was
being polite to her when all I wanted to do was shove her grin down her pretty
little throat.

“No thanks. I was
just looking for a spoon so I could eat the soup I made myself.” She took a
step closer to Sebastian and continued to speak, “I was kind of hoping to see
you tonight. I haven’t had any time with you in like… a week.”

Wow I was
uncomfortable. I felt like this was a conversation they should be having in
private. I moved to take a step back when Sebastian’s arm dashed out and
grabbed mine. His eyes stayed focused on Vanessa.

“I actually made
plans with Mia tonight. We’re going to sit in her room and watch a movie. We just
came in the kitchen to grab something to eat.”

Vanessa looked at
my arm and then looked back up at Sebastian. “That’s okay. What about tomorrow
night?” She said hopefully.

Sebastian gave her
a sympathetic look as he said, “I don’t think so Vanessa.”

She was pissed.
She looked at me disgusted and somehow moved even closer to Sebastian. She was
standing with her chest a few inches away from Sebastian’s chest.
