The Tycoon's Blondie (The Tycoon Series Book 2) (14 page)

Allison looked
at her watch and sighed.  She had made an appointment at the local clinic to
get something for the constant nausea that had been plaguing her.

With a final
look toward the ocean, from what had become her favorite spot on the Uluwatu
Cliffs, Allsion turned toward the driver waiting for her by his
ojek,
 which
was a motorcycle for rent as a passenger.  She found it was the easiest and
fastest way to get to where she wanted to go.  Hajae was the son of one of the
housekeepers at the resort and they had become good friends over the past week
and a half.

She had chosen
the Alila Villas,  which were located in Pecatu Uluwatu.  It was ideally
situated and a mere minutes from the Uluwatu Temple and Cliffs. The resort was
also within close proximity of Uluwatu and Suluban Beaches.

It offered
tranquility and, even under the circumstances, she had managed to relax.  Her
villa was on the edge of the facility and a small distance from the others.  It
suited her…it suited her lonely and shattered heart.

Two hours
later Allison sank down upon the huge sunbed on the porch of her little villa.
She sat staring over to the ocean.

“Sparkles.”

Allison got
such a fright at the harsh sound of his voice, she jumped up from the sunbed
and nearly tripped over the edge behind her.  Her eyes widened and she glanced
around fearfully.

“I can’t
believe you did not tell me about this trip.  You have always wanted to come
here.  Shame on you, Allison.”

“Greg, I have a
restraining order against you.  You know you are not allowed near me!  I want
you to leave.”

“Come now,
darling.  If you really meant for me to stay away from you, you would have
pushed that assault charges through.  Now, I know you still want me.  You only
did it to please your friends.”

“You are truly
demented.  Have you completely lost your mind, Greg?  How did you know where to
find me?”

“I can still
charm a lady or two, my dear, and having an expert IT specialist as a friend
doesn’t hurt.  Your receptionist told me you were on vacation and you are a
creature of habit. It was easy for him to trace your credit card activity. All
I needed to do was charm the travel agent.  Yeah, darling, I figured you would
still use the same one.  Now, come inside.  I don’t like you sitting out here
where everyone can see you.  We are going to become acquainted again, you and
I.”

“I swear,
Greg, if you so much as touch me with a fingertip, I will scream this roof down.
Sound travels far here.”

“No need for such
drastic measures, darling.  I just need everyone to see us hidden away every
day and I will leave hints of how we have found our love once again…it will be
easy to make people believe we are a loving couple.  Scream and I will gag you.”

Allison gaped at
him.  “And then what?  What are you aiming to achieve with that?”

“I will have
all of them behind me and you would have no choice but to marry me.”

“Greg, where
do you get off?  I am not marrying you.  Not for any reason whatsoever.  This
is not the medieval era.  These people do not know me and could not care less
about my morals and whether I marry you or not.”

“You are wrong
and I will prove it to you.  Before your vacation is over, in another week and
a half, we will be married.  Now,
get the fuck inside.

He yanked her into
the villa by her arm and locked the door behind her.  Allison made sure she
kept a safe distance between them and cursed when she remembered her cell phone
was buried inside her suitcase on top of the cupboard.

“What the hell
are you going to do with that?”

Allison
shrieked and started running for the door when he pulled out pieces of rope
from a backpack by his feet.  He caught her easily and soon had her arms tied
to one of coffee table legs.

“Some
security, darling.  I can’t have you running all over the place, now can I?”

“Greg,
please.  This is not you.”

“No, but
remember, my darling.  You are the one who forced my hand.”

Allison stared
at him, fear racing inside her, filling her with dread.  For the first time she
noticed a wild look in his eyes.  She frowned.  Greg was unstable.  Something
was wrong with him and now, more than ever, she was scared.

Chapter Fourteen

Allison slowly shuffled into the
den, her feet still bound by the rope Greg had wrapped around her. She had tried
to climb out of the bedroom window and he had caught her in the act.  Now her
hands and feet were permanently bound together.

Greg ran his
eyes up and down her body.  He snorted and took another swig of beer.  He
pointed toward her with the bottle, his voice derisive.

“You should
really take better care of yourself, Sparkles.  You look dreadful.  What if Mr.
Bennett arrived here unannounced?  What kind of impression would that make?  He
regards you very highly, you know?  He read about you in the ‘News Week’
magazine.”

“Oh really.
Tell me about your job, Greg.  How is it that you could take time off so soon
after you were hired?”

“Oh, Bennett
thinks I am the best partner he has ever had.  He firmly believes a man should
stand by his woman.  Just as I have been over the past week.  Isn’t that right,
darling?”

“Of course.”

Allison sank
down onto the couch, tired beyond belief.  She had not slept since Greg arrived
and was too scared to close her eyes.  She was just relieved that he had not
tried anything intimate.  Since she realized he was unstable, she had begun to
play along with the make believe world he lived in.  Hoping and praying that
she would find a way to escape.

So far, he had
been too clever.  He kept the cleaners away from the villa.  Ordered in, tied
her up and locked her in the room when he went out.  It was a relief that her vacation
was coming to an end in three days.  She was biding her time.  There was no way
he was going to be able to leave without exposing her to others.  He had not
said a word about the marriage again and that was one less thing for her to
worry about.  If only she could get to the suitcase to find her phone.  She
cursed, knowing it was impossible, not with her hands tied downwards to her
feet.

Her eyes fell
on the phone on the small table against the wall in the entrance of the villa.

Holy
shit!  Why had she not noticed it before? Because he tied you in the room every
time, clever girl.

Allison forced
herself to remain passive and unchanged.  She paged through a magazine and
glanced toward Greg.  It was nearly midday and she was hungry.  The clean and
fresh air had increased her appetite.  She slumped tiredly on the couch and cleared
her throat.

“What are we
having for lunch?  I am quite hungry today.”

He snorted and
threw the last of the beer down his throat.  “All you fucking do is eat. You
are going to get fat.”

Allison just
looked at him and he shrugged.  “I’ll go and see what they are serving at the
buffet. Do you want some dessert too?”

“Yes, that
would be nice.”

He nodded and
she watched excitedly as he walked out the door, making sure he locked it
behind him.  Allison jumped up and shuffled as fast as she could to the small
dining alcove and found her little phone directory in her bag, which was hooked
over one of the chairs.  She still maintained a hard copy of all her numbers.
She had lost her phone numbers more than enough times over the years to have
learned her lesson.

She dialed
Willow’s number with trembling fingers.  She would be the best one to get
everyone to action immediately.

“Willow
speaking.”

“Willow I need
help.”

“Allie!  Where
the fuck are you?  We are worried sick.”

The door flung
open suddenly and Allison screamed as Greg stormed toward her.

Bali!  I
am in Bali…nooo!   Aaarggh!

Allie!  Oh
God, Allie!  Leave her alone you sick fuck!  Allie!

Willow was as
pale as a sheet as she stared at her phone.  She pressed the speaker button and
Tiaan froze where he stood by Mason’s bar when Allison’s fearful scream echoed
in the room.

No!  Greg
please!  You…

You
fucking bitch!
I should have known you would whore after that bastard the
moment I turned my back.  No more.  When I am done with you…no one would want
you!”

Another scream
echoed over the phone and then the line went silent.  Willow jumped up and
screamed at Tiaan.

“How could you
have let her leave alone?  After what he did to her at the restaurant?
You
were there!  You must have seen what he did!

Tiaan was pale
and stared at Willow.  “What I saw was her wrapped around him like a leech.  It
was…”

“You stupid
ass!  He assaulted her.  What we saw was Allison desperately struggling to get
out of his grip.  I hit him with my shoe before he let her go.  Her lips were
swollen, bleeding and she vomited.
Vomited when she fell to the floor!

What did you do, Tiaan?  Why aren’t you with her?”

“I didn’t…that
was not what I saw.”

“You chased
her away and she…went to Bali alone.”

“I did not
even know she was going to Bali. We were together for seven weeks and she never
told me.  What does that tell you, Willow?  Yet he is with her now.”

“She was going
to talk to you that night.  With everything that had gone on and her practice,
it slipped her mind.  Oh God, we have to help her.  He is going to kill her.”

“Why do you
say that?”  Tiaan was pale and his heart rat-a-tatted viciously against his
chest.

“There is
something wrong with that man.  Allison filed assault charges against him and
obtained a restraining order that day.  He was aware of it.  He was there when
the judge issued it.  I am scared for Allison.
Please!
  You have to go
and find her.”

Mason was
already on the phone making arrangements to have their plane readied.  Everyone
scattered around, trying to find out where in Bali she could be.

“She always
uses the same travel agent.  It is the same one we used for the honeymoon,
babe.  Maybe they will give you the information?”  Brooklyn looked at Mason.
He made the phone call immediately and within thirty minutes, Mason, Tiaan and
Michael left for Bali.

On the way the
airport, Tiaan made a few more calls.  Mason looked at him questioningly.
“What are you planning?”

“It is close
to a twenty-four hour flight to Bali, Mason.  You heard him over the phone.  I
need to get there quicker.  Jake is an Admiral in the Air Force.  He’ll phone
me back in five.  If he can get a pilot, he will authorize one of them to fly
me to Bali in a fighter jet.  Flight time will be less than fourteen hours.  It
is three in the afternoon now.  I should be in Bali around five in the
afternoon their time tomorrow.  They are twelve hours ahead.”

“You have to
promise me you will take someone with you. Allison is going to need you, not
have you lose your mind and beat that bastard to a pulp.”

“It is what he
fucking deserves.”

Mason kept his
eye on Tiaan and relaxed when he saw him bring his emotions and anger under
control.  His brother might have acted hastily and emotionally, but he really
loved Allison.  He grinned recalling that day Hillary DeWitt came to his
office.  Mason deliberately stayed in the reception area of their combined
offices.  He was going to allow five minutes with the door closed before he
interfered.  He refused to allow Tiaan to ruin his future with Allison.

He did not
need to interfere.  It was barely five minutes later when Tiaan threw the door
open and brusquely barked at Hillary to leave.  She trotted out in a clear huff
and Mason noticed the bulge in Tiaan’s pants.  Tiaan growled and snapped at
Mason, “I am a fucking hot blooded man, Mason, but I am not a bloody idiot.”

“Good to know,
Bro.”

Since then
Tiaan had become more reserved and stopped his binge drinking.  However, he
went from one extreme to the other.  He worked himself to death and it was
clear that he hardly slept.

The fighter
jet was given special permission to land at JFK and was waiting for Tiaan when
they arrived.  Within an hour of Allison’s phone call, Tiaan was in the air.

The pilot was
made aware of the urgency of the mission – for them, everything was in the
terms of a mission – and he pushed the jet even faster.  Tiaan arrived at the Alila
Villas in Pecatu just after twelve noon.  Jake had given the pilot instructions
to go with Tiaan, to ensure he did not kill the stupid prick.

The
receptionist was reluctant to supply Tiaan with Allison’s villa number and he
was becoming exceedingly agitated.  A gruff voice said behind them.

“I know where
she is.”

Tiaan turned
and looked at the tall, lanky young local watching him.

“And you are?”

“I am Hajae.
I drove Miss Allison around the island the first week… until he arrived.  He is
a bad man.  It is good you are here.  No one has seen her since he came.”

“Where?”

“Follow me.”

They were
walking up the pathway leading to the villa a short distance from the others when
a shrill cry reached their ears.

Tiaan was at
the door in a flash and with one hefty kick slammed into the villa.  The sight
that met his eyes turned his blood to ice in his veins.  He blocked Allison out
and stalked closer to the useless piece of shit that stood over her, his hand
raised.  He looked over his shoulder and snorted.

“Look,
Sparkles, lover boy is here.  Do you think he’d want you back?  You are spoiled
goods now, after all.”

Allison
started crying in deep, hoarse sobs and Tiaan’s fist slammed into the side of
the smirking man’s face.  He fell to the floor and Tiaan yanked him upright,
placing another fist in his solar plexus and one vicious uppercut to his chin.

He looked up and
saw Allison…really saw her for the first time.  She was pale, her beautiful
hair dull and dirty.  Her lip was swollen and bleeding.  She was hogtied to the
couch and he roared.  He threw the useless man he was holding to the floor and
snarled at him. “You are nothing but a useless piece of shit!”   He glanced at
Hajae.

Bring me a
fucking knife!

Hajae stormed
to the little kitchen and came back with a sharp knife.  Allison’s body shook
from the sobs that tore through her.

“Oh fuck
baby…sweetlips hold on.”

Her eyes
widened and she screamed.

Look out!

Tiaan swung
around and cut the fist, coming at his face, off with a furious chop of his forearm.
He lifted his arm, aimed a straight fist directly into Greg Scott’s nose, the
force breaking every bone.  He fell to the floor in a dead faint.  Jake had
finished cutting the ropes and when Tiaan turned to her, Allison fell into his
arms.  He wrapped her body tightly and cursed as he felt her slight form
trembling against him. He could feel she had lost weight and swore again.

“I phoned the
police.  They will be here shortly.”

“Thank you
Hajae. Jake, I appreciate your help.”

He nodded and
with a small smile at Allison he left.  Tiaan looked at Hajae.

“Would you
please get someone to pack her things.  I am going to find another villa for
us.  She is not staying in here a moment longer.”

He nodded and
hastened away.  The police and the resort manager arrived and Greg was taken
away.  The police took one look at the cut ropes and Allison’s condition and
they did not even bother interrogating them.

Tiaan picked
Allison up and carried her all the way to the reception area.  Hajae met them
at the door and immediately led them to a private villa on the other side of
the resort.  With Allison still in his arms, he ran her a warm bubble bath and
had to get in with her as she refused to let him go.

Her eyes were
haunted and he swallowed hard, recalling what Greg had said. He would never
forgive himself if the bastard managed to rape Allison.  Tiaan gently washed
her whole body using his hands.  He washed her hair and the just sat in the
cooling water holding her against him.  He nuzzled her throat.

“Baby…did
he…did he hurt you?”

Allison
started to cry and his heart stopped beating.  She shook her head when she felt
his reaction.

“Nonono…not
that.  He did not rape me…but I don’t know how much longer her would have…would
have…”

“Shhh…no
more.  Come.  You need to rest.  I have asked the manager to arrange for a
doctor to come and look at you and give you something to calm you down.”

“No!  No, I
don’t want anything.  No drugs.”

“Allison, you
have been through an ordeal and you need to rest.”

“I will rest.
In your arms.  Please stay with me.  All I need is your arms around me.”

“I am not
going anywhere.  I fucked up, Allison and I will never forgive myself.  It is
my fault you went through this.”

Allison cupped
his face and kissed him gently.  She shook her head.  “No, it was his fault.
There is something wrong with him and I should have noticed it earlier.”
