The young lady smiled as she took the bribe and tucked it in the top pocket of her
hotel issued white blouse.
“Is there anything else your friend Ben wants to know?” She grinned slyly.
I stood up straight. “No. But he appreciates all your help. You have a good day and don’t work too hard. Tell your manager they don’t pay you enough. I think you deserve a raise.”
I navigated my way through the sparse crowd of people in the lobby and ended my trek by hopping back into the driver’s seat of my car. I adjusted my ass in the seat and pulled a pack of Skittles out of the center console. Angelique shook her head and turned her palm up.
“Oh shit, you’re eatin’ Skittles. What the fuck happened in there? Lemme have some.” She looked at me.
I poured several colorful pebbles in her open hand. “Jax is stayin’ in room 724 and the Julia Roberts knock off is up there with him.”
Angelique popped a green candy in her mouth and started smacking her shimmery lips.
“So what
do you wanna do?” She looked over at me.
I looked at the front of the hotel, and then I put a few candies in my mouth.
“Call Sway, tell him to come down here now and bring the GPS tracker. I need you to show him Rachael’s car so he can hook it up.”
“Ok, what about you? What
are you gonna do?”
I grinned. “I’
ma give Jax some room service.”
Tyce
had me doing research about that underground jewelry show. It was fluff work. It took me less than four hours to find out the location, time, and about how many people would be in attendance. I was doing homework while he was hanging out with his baby mama. I was at home pissed off with the phone in my hand. A part of me wanted to call him right then, but I stopped myself. Although I wasn’t okay with him spending so much time around Angelique, I was not about to let them know that. Being insecure was the fastest way to turn your man off. Tyce was not about to have ill feelings about me while he was out with his ex.
I kne
w that I was engaged to a very sexy man. Shit that was one of the things I loved about him. But damn, does every thirsty bitch in California want a sip of him or what? Not only did I have to look the other way when it came to Quiana, but I had to work with bitter ass Angelique. Those bitches were like flies at a barbeque. They were getting on my fucking nerves always buzzing around my man. When the job was over, I planned on using my hand like a fly swatter and slapping the shit out of those lonely hoes.
Angelique whipped Tyce’s Benz around a corner and
rolled slowly down the dim aisle of the underground parking garage. About a hundred feet into her leisurely drive, she spotted the baby blue Bentley parked in a corner spot. The space next to it was empty, so she slid the car into the space and turned the engine off. She grabbed the pack of cigarettes from the passenger seat, fished out a lighter from the side pocket of her purse, but ceased her pre smoking actions instantly when a woman appeared at her window. She immediately locked the doors before Rachael could grab the handle. The two women stared at each other for a brief identifying second.
“How cute, you locked your doors thinking that’s going to keep you safe. You silly bitch.” Rachael stared down at Angelique from outside the rolled up window.
“You think I didn’t notice you following me here? Where’s Tyce at?”
Angelique glared at the gorgeous evil spirited Caucasian woman through the tinted glass. Long red curly locks of h
air framed her small face as her thin lips parted into a sinister smile.
Angelique pointed at her casually. “You must be Rachael. I see Jax has a thing for snowflakes. You might wanna take some Tylenol for that
case of jungle fever you got there.”
Rachael huffed as she raised her gun toting hand and took a step back pointing it at the window.
“You must be blind, deaf, and dumb. Obviously you didn’t
hear
my question. Don’t you
see
this gun pointed at your pretty face, and you’re
dumb
enough to play with me? Now, either you tell me where your boyfriend is, or I’m going to shoot you in the fucking head!” Rachael’s skinny eyebrows bunched up in anger.
Angelique folded her arms across her breast. “
I’m a single woman now you Ronald McDonald lookin’ bitch.”
Rachael responded to the smart remarks by firing off four
quick shots at point blank range. She squeezed the trigger until the gun was empty. The silencer quieted the shots, but Angelique heard the loud clicks echo from the empty gun. The look on Rachael’s blushed out tan face was priceless. The last thing she expected was for the hot bullets to bounce off the window like cold hail in a thunder storm.
Angelique quickly unlocked the door and in one lightning fast motion she flung it open with all her power. The heavy door slammed into Rachael’
s mid-section sending her staggering back into her own automobile. The blow knocked her off balance and she dropped the gun as her back crashed into the side mirror. In a flash Angelique was up and out of the car as Rachael struggled to regain her balance. She braced herself against the body of the Bentley and stood up only to be greeted by a fierce left hook to her cheek bone. Angelique balled her right fist up and swung at Rachael’s head a second time, but her crafty opponent ducked the blow. The space between the two cars didn’t leave much room for maneuvering, so when Angelique missed her punch, Rachael seized the moment and snatched a fistful of long black hair. She yanked Angelique’s head down sharply in a blinding jerk causing her to stumble forward.
Rachael buried both her hands in Angelique’s full mane grabbing her hair by the roots. She slammed Angelique’s body into the car door of the Bentley. Rachael was feeling like she held the upper hand as her foe grunted in pain. The next move in her assault was to bring Angelique’s face into her knee. Rachael was just about to use the head she was holding like a soccer ball when she felt a sharp deep pain shoot through her lower abdomen. After the agony extended out to her ovaries, Rachael released Angelique’s thick strands and fell to her knees holding her sore vagina with both hands. Tears welled up in her blue eyes as a result of the immense agony she was experiencing. Her gutsy fighting spirit was now replaced by a breathless pant as she held her aching coochie.
Angelique stood erect again, ran her fingers through her tussled
hair, and took a deep breath of her own.
“
I bet you didn’t see that shit comin’ did you? You jus’ got pussy punched bitch! That’s a lil’ somethin’ I picked up when I was in jail. That shit hurts like a muthafucka don’t it?” Angelique sniffed and licked her dry lips.
“Fuck you,
” Rachael gasped.
“Fuck you bitch.” Angelique walked back to the B
enz taking time to kick the gun under the car. “By the way…my hair is
real
nigga.”
A few seconds later, Tyce’s luxury car sped out of the
shadowy underground parking garage and into the bright sunlight. Angelique busted a quick right at the corner. The garage was blown for her, so she had to reposition herself on the next block. It didn’t matter that her ribcage was sore, or that her scalp was tender, she still had a job to do. She made a second right at the next corner, grabbed the phone out of her purse and dialed Sway’s number. Her finger pressed the speaker phone buttoned and she dropped the Galaxy in her lap as he picked up on the second ring.
“Wasup Angie?
I’m almost there.”
“Hold up about 10 minutes. I jus’ got into a scrap with Rachael and I left her in the parking garage squatting next to her car.”
“What?! Are you serious?”
“Hell yeah I’m serious. Barbie tried to kill me when I was posted up next to her car waiting for you. If it wasn’t for Tyce’s bullet proof window I woulda been dead.”
“Why didn’t you pull off, or put the bumper on her ass?”
Angelique smacked her lips. “And let her get away with that shit?! He
ll naw! I had to whoop her ass. Plus I had a lot of stress to work out. She picked the wrong time to shoot at me, cuz a bitch been waitin’ to pop off.”
Laughter could be heard coming from her crotch as Sway chuckled loudly.
“Damn girl, you sound like you on the Bad Girls Club.” He sighed. “What kinda car lil’ Ms. Muffet drive anyway?”
“A baby blue Bentley with a broken side mirror.”
“I got it, I’ll do a run through in about 10 minutes to see if she’s still out there. I want you to get out now. I don’t need her tryna come back and finish what she started. Where’s Tyce?”
“He’s in the Omni. He said he was goin’ to Jax’s room.”
Sway stopped his Denali at a stop light. “Alright, look, I got him. You jus’ get out of there.”
Angelique hung up the phone and exhaled deeply. She hated leaving Tyce in a potentially fucked up situation, however, Sway was much more capable of handling heavy shit than she was. Knowing that he was on the way to the scene made her feel better about fleeing. As she put her seat belt on and slowed for an upcoming dip, she heard the siren. The flashing crip and blood lights in her rearview mirror confirmed what Angelique feared. The holice were pulling her over.
“
Fuck!” She shook her head.
I took the elevator up to the seventh floor, found the room, and put my ear to the door for about two minutes. I listened to count how many voices I heard so I could estimate how many people were in the room. From my ear hustling, I gaged that there were only two men inside. I pulled out my newly purchased silver .45 caliber Smith & Wesson and knocked on the door with the tip of the barrel. I covered the peep hole with my thumb and stood off to the side keeping my body near the edges of the door.
“Room service aqui senor.” I did my best Spanish accent.
“Hold up a sec.” A voice said.
I slid the safety off my gun and tensed up just a bit as the door swung open and Jax stood face to face with me.
“Back up real slow.” I marched right on in like I had a key card with the cannon pointed at his dazed face.
Jax sucked his
straight teeth and smiled widely as he started taking steps in reverse. The bottom of his tight T-shirt inched up above his thick studded belt as his arms rose above his head
“Don’t move nigga. Lay on the ground face down.” I gave Bishop orders as he sat up in his chair
attentively upon seeing me stride in.
The buff man grunted as he got to his knees and laid his two hundred and fifty pound body on the thin carpet.
Jax put his hands up as the door closed softly behind me. “You see this Bishop?! Do you see this muthafucka right here?! I don’t know if I should kiss you or shoot you nigga. Goddamn you pretty! You sure you the same famous Tyce I keep hearin’ ‘bout? Is this the smoothest nigga on the west coast? Shit you mus’ be him ‘cuz you got the drop on me and Bishop. I gotta be honest pretty boy…I didn’t think you had the balls to go all Jehovah witness on me and knock on my door and shit.” Jax lowered his voice. “But believe me…I won’t make that mistake twice.”
“Sit on your hands next to your boyfriend.” I nodded toward the floor.
Surprisingly, Jax nor Bishop offered me any real resistance. The two of them were cooperating fully and it wasn’t because I was holding a gun. Don’t get it twisted, I still kept my hammer ready to put a hole in either one of them if they so much as scratched their balls without my permission.
I looked around the room. “Who else is in here?”
“Ain’t nobody here but us youngin’.”
“Where that Wendy’s lookin’ bitch at?”
Jax grinned up at me. “Ahhh, you must mean my lil’ red head darling Rachael. I’m surprised you didn’t see her on your way up. You musta jus’ missed her fine ass. I see you do your homework…I like that.”
“Nigga I been dustin’
off fake ass thugs like you and him since I was 18, but let’s cut the fat. If I wanted you dead both of you moist ass bitches would be in hell right now burning the fuck up.”
“So
, why the fuck you here then?” Bishop looked up at me from his ground level spot.
I pointed my pistol at him. “I don’t talk to the help. Are you a boss? Do you pass out the stacks at the end of the day nigga? Do you
run
a crew or are you
on
a crew muthafucka?! You better shut the fuck up before I make you do push-ups until you pass the fuck out. Jax, how the hell you gonna beat me and my crew to the punch wit’ dumb ass fools like him on the payroll? You better off workin’ for me. I might have a spot for you washin’ cars, or orderin’ pizzas…maybe you can cut my grass or somethin’.”
Jax cocked his head to the side. “Y
ou got jokes. You got heart and you’re smarter than the average bear. But, I got a few years in the game on you. See, the old me woulda forced you to use that gun, or eat it. But ever since I turned 34 I got a lil’ wiser. And with wisdom comes a new way of lookin’ at shit. Like for instance, this lil’ situation right here. I know you didn’t come here to kill me, but if you had to then you would have.” His nostrils flared a bit. “Naw, you came here to see your competition up close and personal. You came here to try and intimidate me…get in my head. You wanted to try and force me to alter my plan of action and make a mistake in the process. And when I did make a change you were planning on scoping me out to see how me and my crew move.” He continued his synopsis. “See, a coward would have hid in the shadows afraid to show his face, so he could not be recognized when it all went down. Weak men need the element of surprise to win. Real men show up, introduce themselves…and then kick ass anyway. I can respect that.” Jax nodded his wide head.
