Since the music festival, the press and
fan sites were burning with curiosity about the woman who’d captured Kai’s
heart. Once pictures of her finally surfaced on the internet—most of them taken
when she was in Seoul, the shock, surprise and with some female fans
dismay—T4L’s popularity surged far higher than even their management had
expected, especially in the states amongst the fans who couldn’t help cheering
one of their own.
“Geez Noel, you look like you’re going
to marry an axe murderer, not the guy you love.”
Noel was full of nerves. Her stomach
threatened to evacuate its meager contents. For the millionth time it seemed
she checked her makeup in a pocket mirror or wiped her sweaty palms on the
satin of the floor-length cream-colored gown she and Rachael had purchased mere
hours before. She looked to her friend for reassurance.
“Do I look all right,” she practically
squeaked. “Did I cover that zit on my cheek? Does my breath smell? Is this
dress all right?”
Rachael chuckled. “Yes, yes, no and the
dress is fine. But having seen Kai a few minutes ago, I’d say he wouldn’t care
what you wore.”
Noel continued to pace. “Am I really
going to do this? Am I really going to marry Kai?”
Rachael grabbed her friend’s shoulders
comfortingly. “Yes you are and yes, you
should
. He loves you and you
love him.”
“But a Vegas wedding, Rach?”
“Because I cannot wait
Jahgi,
”
came a silken voice from behind them. Both women wheeled around to see Kai and
the rest of T4L in stylish tuxedos.
Rachael’s eyes goggled at the sight of
the five hot men in front of her, but Kai’s gaze was focused like a laser beam
on the woman who would be his wife in just a few minutes.
He took her in his arms in spite of her
protests about not seeing the bride before the wedding.
“We shall have a proper Korean wedding
when we get back home, but right now
Jahgi
, I lack the patience to
wait.”
Kibum dropped to his knees theatrically.
“Please Noel, please marry him so he can stop annoying us?”
“You just have to marry Kai,” Kami
chimed in, her eyes sparkling. “I’m gonna be like the total envy of every K-pop
fan at school now because I know you!”
Noel chuckled and gave the girl a warm
hug. “I guess that’s a good reason, outside of the fact that I love him.” She
then turned to Rachael, tears shimmering in her eyes. “Thank you Rach.”
The redhead’s eyes misted as she tried
to wipe them away. “No, thank
you
. For forgiving me. I’m so happy for
you, really. And if you don’t treat my girl right,” she mock-glared at Kai,
“I’ll rip your balls off!”
Kai heard the words of the
ceremony through tunnel vision. All he saw was Noel. He couldn’t stop staring
into her eyes, couldn’t stop holding her hand, as if to reassure himself that
she was actually here, that this was for real.
He slipped the ring onto her finger. He didn’t
remember where he’d bought it but as soon as possible the two of them would
shop for proper wedding bands. Yes, later they’d do it all again but right now
was good enough.
“You may now kiss the bride…”
Looking into her eyes, Kai pulled her into
a fierce embrace as his lips eagerly meshed with hers, the kiss deep and
soulful, a promise of forever. His world was right once again.
“
Saranghae
,” Noel whispered.
“I love you too,” he replied
before sweeping her into another
passionate kiss
amongst the cheers and clapping around them.
