As she stood on her porch and watched as another house was going up, trying to finish it before the real snowstorms hit, she could feel the fruits of their labor coming to fruition more and more with each passing year.
“This is perfect,” she told him tenderly.
He put his hands on her growing stomach and kissed her neck. She wondered when she would be able to feel him kick. Him? Maybe it would be a her. She smiled at the thought of having a little girl running around their home, giggling and laughing.
“So long as you’re here,” he said to her, kissing her cheek softly, “it’s perfect.”
