Warlock Brothers of Havenbridge 01 - Spell Bound (16 page)

He bit his lip and leaned in for a kiss.

And even though I craved nothing more than to taste his lips, I pulled away and shook my finger at him. “Slow, remember? I only kiss boyfriends.”

He cracked a smile and nodded before resting his head against the window in a loud sigh. “I’ll do my best to remember that.”

“Please do,” I said before exiting my car and escorting Drake up the walk. When he unlocked the door, he glanced at me over his shoulder and grinned. “What’s that smile for?”

“For being you,” he said, brushing his lips across my cheek. “Thank you.”

He walked inside and closed the door behind him. I stood on the porch. The memory of his lips pressed against my skin made me lightheaded, and the feeling didn’t go away during my drive home or when I slipped beneath the covers of my bed.

And when I closed my eyes, I dreamed of Drake, except this time no one chased us. All we did was kiss.

morning, I woke up with the biggest smile and the hardest boner ever. It was like I’d erected a tent in the middle of the night. And even though I was dying to get to school to see Drake, there was no way I was going to be able to focus if I didn’t take matters into my own hands immediately.

I flipped back my covers and shoved my shorts to my ankles. My cock flopped onto my smooth stomach, already slick with precum. I closed my eyes and danced my fingers across my aching shaft as my thoughts returned to Drake.

His big, beautiful eyes gazed at me as I stroked my cock, and the earthy scent that clung to the air around him filled my nostrils. Everything about him, from his looks to his confidence, excited me.

It made me want to be with him, protect him. Show him he wasn’t alone, and he didn’t have to run anymore.

And his smile seemed to acknowledge that he knew that.

As I ran my fingers around the head of my dick, I imagined it was Drake who touched me, and the contact signified his acceptance of me. Of us.

His caresses on my palm the night before fluttered now across my hardness. His lips pressed against my cheek, kissing a trail to my mouth before his hand engulfed my prick and pumped it in a slow, measured rhythm.

I bucked my hips into his touch as his tongue wormed inside my parted lips. His hot breaths filled my lungs, and he fondled my balls before trailing over my cock and swabbing the precum that wept from the slit.

He rubbed the clear liquid around the head, lubing his fingers before bringing them to our lips for a shared kiss. Our tongues dueled through the sweetness of our kiss, and my cum solidified there was more between us than just the physical. Whatever we felt, whether it was being spell bound or not, was real, and it was something both of us had waited all these years to find.

My breathing turned ragged, and my hips bucked harder and faster against his expert hand. He pulled and tugged my cock, working his grip in circles around the head before jacking up and down the shaft.

My balls drew up to my body, the cum churning inside.

I was getting close, so I drew Drake to me, wrapping my arms around his neck, forcing my tongue deeper into his mouth. The hand that had so furiously pumped my dick slowed to an agonizing rub. He gripped the base before pulling all the way to the head, and the change in rhythm drove me wild.

I moaned as he continued the brutally slow hand job, but once I’d grown accustomed to the change in pace, he picked up speed again. This time, he wasn’t stopping.

He pumped my cock and pulled on my balls, forcing the roiling cum out of my nuts. I grunted as my spunk arced through the air and splattered my stomach and chest.

I lay there, panting. There was no way I could move. My legs had turned to jelly, and my vision swam. Had I ever had such a mind-blowing orgasm?

I sure as hell couldn’t recall ever coming like that before. What was going to happen if Drake and I got naked together in real life?

No. It wasn’t a question of if but when. But that wasn’t going to happen as long as I stayed here, so I grabbed my sheets, wiped off the sticky mess, and entered the bathroom.

get to school fast enough. I broke every speed limit there was and made it in record time. I still made time to rub out another load in the shower before I left. Fuck! That was how wild Drake made me.

How I still had any cum left in my balls was beyond me.

When I got to school, I couldn’t find Drake anywhere. We didn’t have any classes together, but I’d thought for sure we’d run into each other at least once during the passing periods between classes. We had for the past week, but today I caught no glimpse of his shaggy hair or beautiful smile.

By the time the lunch bell rang, my cheery disposition from that morning had turned into a foul mood. If I didn’t see him at lunch, heads were going to roll.

When I walked into the cafeteria, the silence that followed my entrance quickly descended. I didn’t have time to relish it. I needed to find Drake. But a quick scan of the room revealed he was nowhere to be seen.

Where the fuck was he?

I passed Laura McBride’s table. She said something, but I didn’t hear her daily come-on. I blew past her to where Brandon was waving me down to our usual spot.

“I got you a corn dog today,” he said as he held aloft a drink. “With some root beer.”

Normally that would have made me happy, but it only pissed me off. I didn’t want root beer. “Have you seen Drake?”

Brandon glanced at Simon and Eddie, who shrugged. “Who?”

“Drake Carpenter. The new kid.”

“The one who sat at our table a week or so ago?” Eddie asked.

“That’s him.”

Simon frowned. “The guy who pissed us off and called us retar—
” He stopped when I froze my gaze on his. “The one who was making fun of us? That guy?”

“Yes,” I replied, rubbing my temples. I had to calm down. They had no clue that Drake and I had been spending time together, mostly because they’d been in and out of trouble the past few days. “Have you seen him?”

“No,” Brandon answered. He unwrapped my corn dog and placed it before me. “Why? What did he do? Do we need to take him out back and kick the shit out of him?”

“Do that, and I’ll snap you in two.” I clenched my fists at my sides and glared at Brandon.

Eddie cleared his throat, and Simon leaned back on his bench. Brandon just stared at me. I’d never threatened him that way before. Well, never that seriously. Everyone could tell that this time I meant it.

“Do you three understand?”

“We get it,” Simon said. “You like this guy.”

Well, shit. I’d gone and done what Miranda had warned me not to. “What do you mean?”

“No worries, Mase. We know you’re gay. That’s cool,” Brandon said. He smiled and pushed my drink in front of me. “If you like him, there’s no need to threaten us. We’re your buds. We’ll watch out for him like we watch out for each other.”

Was I hearing this right? Simon and Eddie nodded in agreement.

“Just tell him not to make fun of us,” Eddie said. “That’s not cool.”

I smiled. “No. It’s not.” I didn’t know what else to say. I’d thought these guys were no deeper than the shallow shits they always pretended to be, but maybe they were more like me than I thought. Maybe they were putting on an act too. “Thanks.”

Brandon patted my back. “Now eat up. Then, if you want, we can see if we can find Drake for you.”

“I’d like that.” I took a bite of my corn dog, and they all snickered. “What?”

“Nothing,” Simon giggled.

But when I looked around the table, my friends could barely contain themselves. Eddie was laughing so hard, he banged his head on the table to get himself to stop, and Simon had tears in his eyes. Brandon’s mouth was open so wide in laughter I could’ve driven my car through it.

What
?”

“It’s just that—” Brandon said between howls of laughter that were drawing the attention of everyone around us. “That—” He broke into more hysterics that made speech impossible.

Even though I had no clue what was going on, their laughter turned infectious. I couldn’t stop giggling. “What the fuck is going on?” I picked up the corn dog and waved it at them. “Tell me.”

When I did that, they lost it completely. Brandon fell off the bench, and Simon and Eddie collapsed on top of each other in fits of crazy laughter. I eyed the corn dog and tossed all three of them a fake sneer before dropping it on the table. “You guys suck.”

That made things worse. Brandon rolled on the floor, Simon had snot and tears streaming down his face, and Eddie seemed to no longer be breathing. His face had almost turned purple.

“I hate you. I hope you know that.” But I didn’t. For the first time since we’d become friends, I actually appreciated these guys. I’d taken them for granted, and they’d had my back in more ways than I even realized. Even though I was the butt of their joke, it was the first time in my life it didn’t bother me. “Are you guys done now?” I asked as their hysterics finally started to taper off.

Brandon struggled to his feet. “I think so,” he twittered.

Eddie, who’d finally managed to breathe normally again, nodded, while Simon gave me the thumbs-up sign.

“About fucking time.”

“Sorry, Mase,” Brandon said. This time I rubbed his back in true friendship instead of the condescending taps I’d always doled out. His smile told me he noticed the difference. “Are you gonna finish that?” he asked as a chuckle escaped.

Simon and Eddie snickered. They were on the verge of losing it again.

“No. Thanks to you three, I’m gonna go hungry.”

“Then let’s go find Drake,” Simon said as he stood up.

“Right,” Eddie added. “I’m sure he’s got a corn dog that’ll satisfy you.”

All three of them burst out into laughter, and I rolled my eyes at them. “Come on. Let’s go.”

As we made our way through the cafeteria, I couldn’t help but notice the perplexed expressions on everyone’s faces. They’d always been afraid of us. Of me. But that fear seemed to have lessened after seeing the four of us act like fools. Maybe the intimidating walls we put up around ourselves had come tumbling down when we acted more like regular obnoxious teenagers than cold pricks.

I didn’t know what that meant. All I knew was that I didn’t care.

and I searched the patio around the cafeteria. Even though it was hot outside, the area was packed with students who’d already finished lunch and were waiting for the bell that would send us back to our classes.

“I don’t see him anywhere,” Simon said after surveying the crowd.

Yeah, neither did I. Where was he?

“Maybe he didn’t come to school today,” Brandon said. “Could be sick or something.”

That was a possibility. I supposed even shifters caught colds. Warlocks certainly weren’t immune to human diseases. We’d learned that the hard way.

“Have you called him?” Eddie asked.

“Not yet,” I said, taking out my phone. But something wasn’t right. The back of my brain itched, and I needed to find out why. I couldn’t do it out here, though. I needed privacy if I was going to cast a spell, especially if it backfired on me. “I’m gonna give him a call and take a leak. You boys see if you can find him, and I’ll be back.”

I turned around, dialed Drake’s number, and walked toward the boys’ restroom.

“I was wonderin’ if you were gonna call,” Drake’s voice said on the other end. Just hearing his drawl made me smile.

“Skipping school, huh?” I asked, pretending to be casual instead of immensely relieved. “You should have told me. We could’ve made a day of it.”

He laughed. “I wish that’s what I was doin’.”

“Then what’s going on?”

“Aunt Millie’s not feelin’ up to snuff,” he said. “She had some heart palpitations last night, so we had to go to the emergency room. She’s fine, but I’m not about to leave her alone for a while.”

“Don’t blame you. How about I come by after school? I could bring you both dinner or something.”

“That’s very sweet,” he said. I could almost hear the smile in his voice. “I’d love to see you.”

I liked the way that sounded, especially since I’d been driving myself crazy with worry. My mind had been going to all sorts of awful places. Unsolved murders in town could do that to you. “Well, good. Because I’d be okay with seeing you too.”

Drake chuffed into the phone. “You’re such an ass sometimes.”

“You should consider yourself lucky,” I said, grinning. “Because I’m usually
always
an ass.”

“Can’t argue with that. Just get here before seven, okay?”

“Why? What’s happening at seven?”

“Ms. Wilkens is comin’ over to sit with Aunt Millie while I go for my daily run.”

Of course he was. When wasn’t he bouncing around like a jackrabbit? “I’ll head over right after school.”

“See you then.”

I hung up the phone, and the world didn’t seem as dark or as heavy as it had before, but all wasn’t quite right yet. Something was definitely in the air, and it was time to find out exactly what that was.

walked into the boys’ restroom, I checked the stalls for feet. I wasn’t alone. A pair of Nikes was clearly visible under the last stall on the right.

Fuck. I had to get this guy out of here so I could work my magic. But how was I going to do that?

That was when I heard sniffling. Whoever was in there was crying.

“Um, dude, are you okay?”

The sobbing abruptly shut off.

Mason, is that you?
The words in my head caused my brain to ache.

“Elliot, what’s going on? You okay?”

It hurts, Mason. It hurts so bad.

Okay, that was more information than I needed. “Maybe you need to go see the nurse or something.”

The nurse can’t do anything about the voice. Why would I go see her about that?
