Wench With Wings (4 page)

He started his day in great wonder but by his second class he was a mess. She was completely interrupting his studies; his ability to concentrate on his need to succeed. He couldn’t see anything to draw but her eyes, so he did and it still wasn’t enough. ‘I just have to see them again to make them mine,’ he thought. That statement just wasn’t enough, what circled his mind was taunting him in great stride; ‘what if she throws me away even after one night of my giving love to her?’ What would he do for a fight? What would he do for a tat? She was where it all was at. How could he face her after something like that? How could he hold his confidence in front of her if she was to break him? He was making himself sick with the thoughts, he wasn’t going to go through with it, he wasn’t going to try and make her his. “Fuck it,” he spoke out loud as he slammed open the door to get the well needed outside air into his lungs.

He stalked across the field to get to his bike; he needed to take a ride. Then he spotted the culprit sitting up against a tree eating an apple like she had no care in the world. ‘Oh,’ he thought, ‘he’d give her one.’ She was going to care about what was on his mind. He sat down next to her making sure their upper arms would touch, leaned his head back and closed his eyes. ‘My plan has to work! It has to rattle her enough to put me at the front of her mind, she will
need
to know what is on mine,’ he thought with new tenacious.

She was completely speechless, nothing witty to say came to her. She sat there and kept eating her apple to show him he was not going to take her control. She wanted to lean into him more but the only thing it would let him know is that she wanted more and she would not give him that either.
To want is to have a weakness. And if she moved away it would only tell him that it bothered her and she knew that for complete control you could not let anything bother you, get to you or frustrate you. That’s what she did yesterday, she let him frustrate her and she would not make that mistake again. Well she at least wouldn’t show it like she did yesterday; technically it was that fact that made her loose her control, (or she thought) and have to fight to regain it. So she pushed down the frustration and annoyance and pulled up as much happiness about her confidence she could. After all he was just a man that would and
is
falling to his knees.

After a minuet past he wanted to grab her hand to settle down the need he had to look into her eyes but he held out; it’s what she was doing so it’s what he would do. After two minutes past he was ready to give in but he kept reminding himself; ‘fuck it, I won’t do it, I won’t give in, not this easily, she'll give into me first, she's only testing me, I can win.’ He had to if he wanted to win and he wanted to win; her as his prize. After three minutes he started to calm, he waited this long; he would wait as long as needed to win her over. Three and a half minuets she finally spoke; not what he wanted to hear though or was it just the perfect opportunity for him to make her squirm?

“Wanna bite?” She gave into his antics but with wit, she knew it wasn’t what he sat down for but that she would not give what he was asking for. She would not break for him because she knew he would never be able to fix her if she did, no one could, not him, not anyone but herself. And she would not allow herself to be played with and broke ever again.

“Sure.” He snatched up her arm that held the apple and bit down… on her wrist that is and yup, she jumped. Jumped closer to him, her face smothered in his neck. Her breathing heavy against him causing his to hitch. She turned pain into pleasure, just like him. He had to let go or he would give into her right here. He gripped her arm tighter with the thought and pulled her closer, kissed her cheek, stood up and strutted, yes strutted away with his small victory of controlling her want; her arousal and his defeat; how she made him his hardest in one breath she stole from him; his hitch. She would be the death of him if this kept up. Her surprising him with one more thing than he expected would get him and it would get him good. But his victory wasn’t going to let him give up completely like he wanted to five minutes before. He would just play with her to see if he could break her first than he would fix her right up to his very liking.

She sat completely stunned. ‘I mean really,’ she thought. He sat down without a word next to pretty much a complete stranger while close enough to touch, bit her wrist than literally strutted away, she did notice the cocky walk and cursed it and him for it, it was damn sexy because it was real true confidence. ‘Who does that?’ After five minutes of collecting herself she walked to her next class in disbelief than fidgeted the whole time during class. She would have to start her pep talk all over again and then what; see him tonight at her shop just to shake her control again. Man he’s getting her good; 'to damn good,’ she thought. She might need to completely avoid him instead. ‘Na,’ she thought, ‘when I’m done with the challenge I’ll only come out stronger.’ How could she past that chance up?

Explaining to Jocelyn what her plan
was to bring him down, stressed her out. Talking out loud about it was worse than just thinking about it. It sounded absurd and foolish. Why be alone with him when that’s all he did was turn her on from the second she laid eyes on his? ‘Because it was going to throw off his game.’ Confidence came when more people witnessed; alone and scared was her plan. Also, he would think that he had her right where he wanted her but then she was in control or was she when it came to him? That question is what was stressing her most.

“So he literally
bit
your wrist?”

“Yeah, like he had no care in the world, like it was freaking normal just to bite some ones wrist you technically haven’t even met.” Jos laughed but Trey was not really amused. “Seriously! What is so funny about it? The guys a cocky freak!”

“Cocky freak? Maybe,
but
… it did bother you enough to talk about me! Did it not?” Ayden drawled as he shrugged. Trey spun.

“Interrupt muc
h? And oh, it did not bother me. It was just so freaking pathetic I
had
to tell someone about it. Who would believe something so twisted? And your early... don’t do it again!” He leaned around Trey to look at Jocelyn, “Oh believe it! I did it and it
was
amusing! But you should have heard her reaction, so much more
amusing
!”

Heard
her reaction?” Jocelyn asks.

“Yeah! She was breathing heavy with
undeniable
want for me, close to my ear
as
I was biting her. It was
the
entertaining part.” Jocelyn slapped a hand over her mouth but only managed to muffle the laugh.

“Thanks Bitch!” Trey said then turned back to Ayden. “You were biting my wrist, it hurt. What was I supposed to do scream? I was only breathing away the pain it was not want for you that’s for sure.”

“Okay, if you say so but than you would be weaker than I thought, I was sure you just took your pain and turned it to pleasure ‘because you rather enjoy it, but hey, weak it is then.” Trey just shook her head, a comment to that wasn’t even worth it. She knew he was right, she was turning pain into pleasure but she would not give him the satisfaction of knowing that about her.

“You gonna get on the chair or was it too much for you yesterday. A lousy five minutes and you couldn’t take the pain any longer, by the looks of you, I though
you
to be stronger, guess not,” she shrugged and walked to the chair gesturing toward it, “Well?” He strolled over to her looking her dead in her eyes as he pulled his shirt from him with confidence that it would turn her on, it did but she brushed it off and grabbed her gun. He leaned in close, “You know that’s not what happened yesterday but hey, I’ll give you a reminder of what did.” He pulled the drawing of the tat out of his pocket and handed it to her. She opened it and shook her head. “You forgot the R.”

“No.” It was just a simple statement that he didn’t care to elaborate on. He also wasn’t going to tell her about signing her name on it yet either that would be when she thought she was finished, he figured it would throw her off her game. Right when she thought she was done with him he would demand more, keep her on her toes so she wouldn't throw him away. “Alright Trey, I’m out of here. Text me when you’re done we have “study group” later.”

“K. Later, Jos.” He watched her walk out the door before he put his eyes back on Trey. He wanted to make sure her eyes were the only ones there. “Trey?” He lifted his brows, “A boys name, is it not?”

“’Tis is! War-like. And yours?”

“Ayden. War-like?”

“Yes, Treasach Sirona
. Treasach meaning war-like, fighter, origin; Celtic just like Ayden but I bet you didn’t know that. And Sirona after a Pagan healing deity.” She pulled her shirt down just enough to show her tat sprawled across her heart, on the swell of her breast. “It says it here so it must be me.” She shrugged.

He reached to it, she wanted to pull away but couldn’t, her body wanted to feel his touch. He traced the lines than voiced, “The most beautiful I have ever seen.”

“Yes, well I got it when I was young so I wouldn’t forget who I was.”

“No, not the tat, you.” He moved his hand slowly up to her neck, glided his thumb
down her jaw bone and looked into her eyes, “
My
healing fighter.” She couldn’t speak, could not even breath. He used the endearment only her grandmother ever said. He noticed the shocked pain in her eyes as he said the words than dropped his hand and held it out to her, “Ayden James, considering were not using last names. Nice to
technically
meet you.” She shook his hand with a fake smile he did not like. “No last name, I dropped it long ago,” she changed the tone of her voice, shutting him off from the conversation that was veering too far into what she no longer wanted to talk about, “You gonna get on the chair so I can do this?”

“Yeah.” She could tell by the tone of his voice he wanted more but she would not give it to him. She had to regain control, she’s never told anyone her full name or the meaning of it and she had no clue what possessed her to do so with him. She kept true to her word and didn’t put her other hand on him and when she touched his skin with the gun and he relaxed in pleasure she wondered what his story was. “Stop.”

“Fuck! What? It was only a second.” He turned over and grabbed her hand. “I’ve never had a chic put her hand on me while giving me a tat and when you did it yesterday…” his soft voice trailed off and he looked down, his confidence broken; she smiled, ‘yup she could do it to any man.’ Than he looked up into her eyes and smiled, it tore down that second of confidence she just had. “Never mind, just give me whatever pain you got,” than turned back around. It took her a moment to get it; the pain she caused him was worth more than her caress, he liked it more. ‘Why?’ She thought. ‘Why did he have to be different?’

After one inside wing was done he stopped her. He threw his shirt back on without looking at her, paid her, thanked her than finally looked at her, smirked and left. He played no game to try and get her again, he just left. She was more confused than anything. He didn’t fall into her trap even though she made sure no eyes were there to witness; maybe that was it. She huffed and went upstairs thinking, ‘He must be an alone and scared confident ass. Was he?’

He couldn’t even smile after he left her because he didn’t want to leave her presents but he had to. She gave him a piece of her she shared with no one and he knew it. The look on her face when he was about to ask for her hand again only would have given her her victory, he saw it in her eyes, falling into her trap but he couldn’t do it. He couldn’t give it to her even though she gave something to him. He had to have her even more so than before. She surprised him yet again. She would open up, let him in if he played it right. If he kept her on her toes and close to the edge; walking out did just that. It left her standing looking at his trap; curiosity would kill the cat. He wouldn’t give in. He might want to love her but he wanted to keep her more.

She grabbed her phone from her back pocket of her jeans and slammed down on the couch, B ther in 15

K, Jocelyn text back and out the door Trey went. She walked instead of her normal run, she needed to just take it easy after that theatrics. When she arrived on the training grounds, Jocelyn ran to her with excitement Trey was not happy with, “So?”

“So nothing,” she shrugged and walked on.

“K. Yea, okay,” Jos joked.

Trey ran the girls threw drills, voiced her thoughts on their sparing without any real care, which was unlike her; this was something she did love to do and always made her happy. She called it an early night, walked home slow and crawled into her bed sadder than she felt in some time. Not only did this guy screw up her control he was interrupting her morning ritual, her well needed lunch break, her private conversations, her joyful training, he also interrupted her happiness and confidence. The goddess only could know what else. She would have to do something about him and soon, she just didn’t know what yet. He didn’t tell her he was coming tomorrow and she hopped she would get a break from him just to put herself back together.

He stopped around the corner from her shop and waited, he would follow her running and watch what she did carefully to learn more about how to keep up with her. When she walked past looking defeated he so badly wanted to go to her. He did it to her and he wanted to fix it but he couldn’t, not yet; it would take more to break her completely for him to collect her pieces. So he turned away from her and headed back to his place. He did some studying to try and take his mind off of her but it didn’t do him no good.
