Zak Turner - A Twist In Time (44 page)

“Farok, Dominus tenebris, animae meae, mei lætus obtuli, et usus tui mecum.”

Zak whirled round to watch what was happening in the crypt, knowing that at any moment the demon linked with the ritual circle would make an appearance!  His heart was pounding as he reached for his wand.  To his consternation, he heard Rufus Logan’s voice come out of the doppelganger in reply.

“Ego Assentior.”

Like with Andra and Sartrina, the response sounded very un-natural to him, and anyway, he knew for sure that someone else had spoken, because the real Rufus Logan was lying on the floor behind him!

Almost immediately an overwhelming terror filled the crypt, a desperate crawling fear unlike anything the boys had ever felt before!  The lines carved into the floor of the cavern to form the ritual circle blazed with brilliant green light, the intricate patterns swirling and writhing like snakes.

It was coming…!
