A second chance...At first love (Second Love Series Book 1) (3 page)

Timothy grabbed her into his arms and kissed her, the heat was radiating off of their bodies.  He just held her for a few minutes until he felt her tremble. He grabbed a blanket off of the couch, wrapped her up and held her tight.  He laid there and just watched her; she had drifted into a light sleep. Exhausted and completely content, he started to doze off as well, until he saw the time in the VCR, 11:30.

“Izzie, we have to get up, I promised to have you home by midnight and I don't want to break my word.  I'm not going to do anything to jeopardize seeing you.”

They got up to get dressed; she asked where the bathroom was and excused herself.  While she was out of the room, he hurried to turn off the camera and store it back in his room.  When they were both dressed and ready, he drove her home holding her hand the entire way.  Like a gentleman, because that's what she deserved, he walked her to her front door, kissed her deeply and said goodnight, all with five minutes to spare.  As he drove home he thought about their night and couldn't wait to see his tape.  His Izzie, he would always have her, even when she wasn't around.

Izzie and Timothy

The rest of June seemed to fly by; they saw each other every chance they got.  They made no secret about their feelings for each other but, they really hadn't spent much time around each other's families. He decided to fix that, so when July came around he invited her to his family's annual 4
th
of July party.  He was excited to show her off to friends and family.  He wasn't quite sure how his parents would react but he really didn't care either, she was "his Iz!" About a week earlier, Blair called him crying and begging him to take her back. She told him she missed him and loved him and was so sorry for all that she had done.

"You're crazy! You know that?" he laughed.  “Blair, don't waste your time or mine, stop calling," he said and hung up on her.

She called several times during the course of the week, but he refused to speak to her.  He warned Izzie that their families had spent the 4
th
together for years and she would probably be there.

“Don't worry, I won't let you out of my sight,” he said with a wink.

The day finally arrived and Izzie was so nervous, she spent days trying to figure out what to wear.  She wanted to look cute but not come across as trashy and contrary to popular belief upstate New York did get warm in July.  She decided on a dark blue jean mini skirt, a white tank and sheer red top with plain red flats and her hair in her signature ponytail, because Timothy loved it.  She normally didn't wear much makeup so she topped the outfit off with a cute red gloss.  Timothy picked her up and on the drive over tried to calm her down.

"Baby you have nothing to worry about, mom and dad are going to love you.  They already know all about you."

When she arrived his parents were wonderful to her, she didn't really know what to expect but she was prepared for dirty looks or smart comments.  Meeting someone's parents is hard enough.  Add in that your boyfriend and his parents are a different race, extra nerve wrecking, to say the least.  All of her fears were relieved when both of his parents hugged her warmly and his mother said, “It’s an absolute pleasure to meet you Isabella.  Anyone that can make my son behave is surely one that needs to stick around.” They all chuckled.  Timothy grabbed her by her hand and told his parents he wanted to show her around and introduce her to a few more people. They were having a very enjoyable time until, she arrived, Blair McManus.  She arrived with her family as expected but he was hoping that after ignoring her for the past week she would have gotten the message.  She arrived like she was the belle of the ball and acted as if everyone should be in awe.  She stood about 5’6”, very lean with blonde hair and green eyes.  She truly could have been on the cover of any magazine.  Izzie thought she was gorgeous and had always been intimidated by her. She and Teddy had made a career out of avoiding her at every opportunity and now she was about to come face to face with her. And since she was dating Timothy she would be front and center of her attention.
Damn,
Izzie thought.  Her stomach dropped and Timothy felt her grip tighten on his hand.  He hadn't even noticed Blair's entrance but it was obvious she was looking for him.  Her eyes scanned the crowd in the backyard of the DeSantis house until she found him, her smile widened as she started to approach, until she looked down and noticed him holding Izzie’s hand.
What the hell is this shit?
She screamed to herself. Her smile faded, and then she remembered she was Blair freaking McManus and she regained her composure. She put her game face on; it was time to show this bitch who was boss.  She walked over to the couple, completely ignored Izzie and hugged Timothy.  He shrugged her off and went back to his conversation with Izzie.  Blair interrupted.

“Timmy, sweetie, I've missed you.  Did you get my phone calls?” Timothy rolled his eyes.

“Oh you called? Hmm…I've been busy, hadn't noticed. And it's Timothy; I haven't been Timmy since I was seven.  Izzie, baby, do you know Blair? Blair, this is my girlfriend Izzie.”

“Umm…Hi Blair,” Izzie said shyly.  She ignored Izzie again,

“Your girlfriend?” She said snidely looking at Timothy.

“Yes Blair, my girlfriend! Is there a problem?” he said rolling his eyes again. "By the way, where's your boy of the month?”

"Timmy, you know Billy and I broke up.  I told you that the other day when I called," she said glancing at Isabella, watching for a reaction.  Izzie just smiled.

"Can we go somewhere alone and talk? Please Timmy?"

"Blair, I told you stop calling me Timmy and no, I'm not going anywhere with you.  Get over yourself.  We have nothing to discuss, now if you will excuse me, you're being very rude to my girlfriend.  Izzie, baby let's go get you something to drink."

Blair couldn't believe that he had just blown her off and for that...piece of trash Isabella Bunton.  What did he even see in her, she was all wrong for him, in every single way.  Blair never considered herself racist but she did not think her Timmy should be with anyone but her but especially not with that cello playing nerdy black girl. What was wrong with him?  She was Blair McManus, all the boys wanted her!  She sulked away from the party and decided to go to a place that she had always loved being, Timmy's room.  She saw him and that skank talking to some of his parents’ friends so she knew she wouldn't get caught.  She snuck up the stairs, took her shoes off and crawled into his bed.  She loved his scent, clean and masculine.  She wrapped herself in his sheets and laid there.  She was about to doze off when she saw the power light on the VCR was on. She decided to see what her Timmy boy had been watching. She figured it was some stupid action movie.  He just loved those god awful things.  She grabbed the remote by his bed, turned the power on the TV on and pressed play for the VCR.  What she saw was no action movie at all.  She saw her Timmy sitting on a couch she recognized, the one in his family's entertainment room. He was laying with his head on the back of the couch and someone was between his legs.  She was looking up at him, and he was smiling back at her.  The girl got up and walked out of the line of sight of the camera but not before she was able to see a clear shot of her face, it was Isabella Bunton.  This must be have been the end of the recording because she saw him get up and walk over toward the camera and then it cut off.  She rewound the tape and watched it from the very beginning.

I knew that bitch was a whore!
She said to herself.
That must be what he sees in her. I wonder what she does that I don't do for him.  I would do anything for him?
She literally had let him do whatever he wanted to her, whenever he wanted to.
What am I missing? Whatever it is that bitch Izzie has to go!
She thought.  Blair immediately formulated a plan; one that she knew would make sure Isabella Bunton stayed away from her man for good.  Blair got out of the bed, slipped her shoes on, grabbed the tape out of the VCR and a sweatshirt that was on the floor in the corner of the room.  She quickly left the room before anyone could see her.  According to Blair McManus, the 4th of July party was the beginning of the end for Timothy and Izzie; she was going to make sure of that.

The next day, Blair dropped by the DeSantis house, pretending to look for Timothy. She already knew he was out with his little bitch whore because his car wasn't in the driveway. That was perfect for her; she needed to slip back into his room without any problems from him anyway.

"Hey Mrs. DeSantis, I just want to return this old sweatshirt of Timmy's," she said holding up the shirt.   "I'll just run up and put it on his bed and be on my way. I just wanted to return the last of his things and show him that there are no hard feelings between us," she told his mom.  She ran upstairs, put the tape back in the VCR dropped the sweatshirt back in the corner and left, already feeling victorious.  She had made a copy of the tape and was going to use it to take down Isabella Bunton.

The next few weeks proceeded as normal as possible, they spent most of their free time together going all over town during the day and at night Timothy always managed to show Izzie, how sexy he thought she was. He was actually surprised and relieved that he hadn't heard any more from Blair. After the 4th of July party, he thought she might really try to stir up trouble,
Maybe she really has moved on,
he thought. He was set to leave for London on September 3rd and he wanted to make sure nothing interrupted his time with "his Iz."  When he wasn't getting things ready for school or helping his family with things, he was with her. She had become his world and he didn't know how he was going to leave. One night he decided to discuss the future.

"When you graduate this coming year, you should study abroad and move with me to London."  She would always giggle and give him the same reply, "Timothy when you leave you are going to fall in love with some beautiful London socialite and forget all about 'little ol' Iz'," and he would always reply "never Iz, never."

Out of the blue in the middle of August he came home to a missed call from Blair.  He winced when he saw the number on the caller ID.  He almost deleted the voicemail message she had left but decided to listen.  It was her inviting him to an end of the summer party; she said all of their friends from school would be there and that it would be a blast.  She continued on saying that it would be a great send off for him before leaving for London and of course Izzie was more than welcome.  She told him that had moved on and there were no hard feelings and that she hoped she would see them.  It would be this Friday at her cabin by the lake.  Timothy mentioned the call and the party to Izzie.

"Baby, it’s your call if we go," he told her.  "If you don't think you will be comfortable, then we won’t go."

She knew he really wanted to go and that all of his friends would be there so she agreed.  Later Izzie told her best friend Teddy about the party.

"Iz, I love you, just be careful around "The Chers.  I don't trust them, but I do want you to go and have fun," Teddy said.

They both laughed at the situation and then as had become their nightly tradition, they dissected everything that happened with Timothy during the day. Teddy loved hearing about Izzie's days.  When she heard the stories, she in a way felt like she had a boyfriend too. The day that Izzie told her about the 4th of July party she had laughed so hard that her stomach hurt, but she also told Izzie to be careful. Blair's mean girl reputation was very well earned.

When Friday came, Timothy picked Izzie up.  As usual he always met her at the door and walked her to the passenger side of his car. She had a tendency to walk faster than him, which was fine with him because it always allowed him a nice view of her ass before she got in the car, today was no exception.  If he had known what was about to happen he probably would have prolonged the view, scratch that he would have prolonged everything.  Traffic was a little heavier than normal that day so Timothy took every stop as a chance to drink in Izzie's beauty. He couldn't believe that in less than three weeks he was going to have to leave her.  He had recently sat down with her, pulled out his calendar and made plans to come home on all of the holidays and of course summer vacation.  He also wanted her to get her passport in order so that she could come visit him during her vacations. He told her if he needed to pay for it, just to make sure she got it done, he would.  As they sat in traffic, he told her again how much he wanted her to come to London when she graduated, and as she started to give her usual response, he stopped her and said "No Iz! There will never be anyone else."

When they finally arrived at the cabin, the party was in full swing. There were people everywhere with red cups full of beer and whiskey, tons of food and Lou Bega's "Mambo #5" was blasting from the DJ's speakers.  Some people were swimming in the lake, others were dancing, but everyone was laughing and having a great time. The party raged on for a few hours, and then Blair had the DJ announce that everyone needed to come inside for a special presentation.  When everyone was inside she stood up in front of a large screen TV.

"Ok guys, we are about to start a new chapter in our lives but, we've been through a lot together so to celebrate our time through the years, I had some help from the yearbook department putting this little video together.  We had some stellar times and I couldn't think of a better way to look back on our journey.  We are the class of '99 and we rule!  Enjoy the video!" she said with a smirk and glanced at her Timmy to make sure he and his "girl" had a good view.  She turned on the video and what filled the TV instantly got gasps, giggles, hoots and hollers.  It took Izzie a minute to register what was happening before her face dropped in horror.  It was her and Timothy.  Their intimate times were being broadcasted to almost everyone she knew.  She looked at the screen and saw her and Timothy mid sex act and was mortified.  Blair walked over to where she and Timothy were standing.

"Timmy I told you before that you were all mine and if you tried to see someone else I would fuck up their entire world! I meant every word of it! You can thank me later love!"

Timothy lunged at her, his hockey teammates grabbed him.

"You bitch! How?" he yelled! "How did you know about this? How did you get it?"  She laughed in his face.

"I shouldn't tell you but the look on your face is way too priceless not to share. It was the night of the 4th of July party at your house, right after you blew me off for your whore, I went into your room and got in your bed!"
