Abnormal Lives (6 page)

Stefan looked at her and squinted. “We're about to make fifteen hundred dollars and you want to damage our credibility by stealing his wedding band so you can get duped out of it at the pawnshop.”

Thomas handed the two of them drinks. “Is there something wrong?”

Stefan looked at Simone and then back at Thomas and smiled. “No, everything's fine.”

Their session moved by quickly. Thomas put on his Garth Brooks album and they sat on the bed, sipping their drinks while Thomas rambled on about the stress of his job and the new baby his wife had given birth to two weeks earlier. Stefan got off of the bed and began easing off his dress as he swayed his hips to the rhythm of the music. Simone had seen some strange and funny things in her profession but up until that point, she had seen nothing funnier than the sight of Stefan stripping to country music.

Stefan made eye contact with Simone, signaling for her to get
up and join him. She gulped down her drink and joined Stefan, sliding off her clothes and tossing her G-string to Thomas. He held onto it for a minute, inhaling the scent before licking the string and tossing it across the room. Thomas grabbed the bottle of Glenlivet and joined them.

Thomas poured the liquor on Simone's neck and she rubbed it in as it ran down her breasts. Thomas began to suck on Simone's nipples. Stefan took the bottle out of Thomas's hand, poured the liquor down Thomas's back, and rubbed it over the mass of his hips. Stefan stooped down and Simone heard the sound of him lapping between Thomas's hips. That was her cue to drop to her knees and take care of the part of Thomas that she had been assigned to. She drooled on Thomas's dick and stroked it until it was fully erect. Semen dripped from his dick and his knees began to buckle. For a moment she wondered whether his pleasure stemmed from her or Stefan. She dismissed the thought. It was none of her concern. She engulfed Thomas's dick with her mouth and Thomas reached behind himself to stroke his anus. The pitch of his moans increased. Stefan stood up and crammed his dick into Thomas's anus. Thomas placed his hands on the wall behind Simone to balance himself. Simone was stunned. She had seen Stefan take dick plenty of times but she had never once seen him dish it out. Hell, this was the same man that sat down on the toilet to take a piss. As far as she knew, Stefan didn't know he had a dick.

Thomas moaned. “Ahh, yeah...that's what I've been waiting for all night.”

Simone rubbed Thomas's balls with one hand as she continued to stroke his dick with the other as she slid it in and out of her mouth. Stefan pounded Thomas so vigorously that his pelvis smacked against Simone's forehead, causing her to bump her head
against the wall. She took a deep breath.
Please hurry up and be over with
, she thought.

Thomas's breathing became heavy and Simone could taste his semen. Thomas leaned forward onto the wall and squealed as he filled Simone's mouth with cum.

S
tefan drove down Cary Street while Simone lay back in her seat with her feet propped up on the dashboard, laughing about the night before.

“Damn, Stefan, you can lay
pipe
!”

“Just 'cause I like to get dealt to doesn't mean I can't deal. Don't get it twisted.”

“Ooh, I heard that,” Simone said, slapping Stefan on his arm. “Shit, I didn't know you realized that you had a dick. When you find out? Last night? I bet Thomas's ass is all tore up.”

Stefan sucked his teeth. “You just make sure yours doesn't end up that way.”

Simone's cell phone rang and she fumbled around in her purse to retrieve it.

“Who is that?”

“Let's see.” Simone looked down at the caller ID.

“A private caller,” she said, rolling her eyes.

“Didn't you say you've been getting a lot of them calls lately?”

Simone nodded her head. “Un-huh.”

“Go ahead and answer it,” Stefan said. “It might be one of your clients calling from home. Make sure you power your damn phone down afterward. You don't want that thing to start ringing during your interview.”

Simone flipped open her phone.

“Hello,” a woman's voice said before Simone had a chance to greet her.

“Who's this?” Simone asked.

“Who the hell you think it is?” the woman replied. “It's your mother.”

Simone immediately hung up the phone.

“Who was it?” Stefan asked.

Simone sighed. “Your aunt, Tessa.”

Stefan looked at Simone and grinned. “You mean it was your mommy; how sweet.”

Simone raised her eyebrow at Stefan to let him know how displeased she was with his comment. The phone began to ring again. Simone looked at the phone and then back at Stefan.

“Go ahead; answer it. You can put it on speaker. It'll be fun.”

Simone flipped open her cell phone and put it on speaker. She waited for her mother to say hello.

“Hello,” Tessa said.

“Answer me this; how you get my number?” Simone asked.

“Trust me, it ain't hard to get when you're into the type of shit you're into.”

Stefan leaned over and yelled into the phone, “Tell that bitch, fuck her!”

“Tell that punk to get on the phone and tell me his damn self.”

“I don't talk to the less fortunate,” Stefan said.

“Less fortunate? I ain't the one selling my ass for money,” Tessa said.

Simone clapped her hands to applaud her mother. “You're right; you're such an upstanding member of the community. You make me so proud, I wanna go out and cop you a gigantic needle full of dope.”

Stefan burst out into laughter, almost hitting the wall as he pulled into the parking deck.

“Fuck you; you always standing up for that fucking faggot. I'm your goddamn mama.”

Simone's face turned red.
This bitch has got nerve, saying she's my mother
, Simone thought. “And I'm the nappy-headed girl you tossed in your mother's lap for her to raise.”

“You know what? I ain't worried about y'all; carry it however y'all want.” Tessa sighed. “And you tell that damn Stefan I know what the fuck he did.”

Simone looked over at Stefan, noticing how red his face had become. “What did you do, Stefan?”

“He called the police on Tony that day at the house, accusing him of trying to rape him, but get this; now he running 'round fucking him,” Tessa said.

Stefan pounded his fist on the steering wheel. “That bitch is crazy. She knows damn well I don't fuck junkies.”

Simone giggled. “What are you trying to say, Stefan?”

“That he's a fucking junkie,” Stefan answered.

“Hey, Tessa, you heard that, didn't you?” Simone asked.

“His punk ass is lying,” Tessa said. “But I ain't worried; payback's a bitch. His foolish ass did something to spite me and he's fitting to die behind the shit and he's too dumb to even realize it.”

“Who's gonna kill him, you?” Simone asked.

“I don't have to lay a hand on him and as dumb as your ass is, you're probably gonna join him. God knows what you two do together. And who is he to be calling my man a junkie when he's a fucking abomination.”

Stefan took a deep breath. “Here we go with the religious shit.”

“Damn right, 'cause that's what the fuck you are; running 'round craving dick at a young age,” Tessa said. “That's why my sister killed herself; she was tired of dealing with your faggot ass.”

“Whatever! If you were so concerned about it, why you didn't come to the funeral?” Simone asked.

“'Cause she was too busy selling her pussy so she could score,” Stefan answered.

Tessa paused for a moment to think of what she could say to get underneath Stefan's skin. “Hey, Simone, did Stefan tell you that he used to peek through the keyhole of his mama and daddy's bedroom so he could watch his daddy undress?”

“Bitch, I've never done no shit like that,” Stefan said. “Don't make me jump through this phone and bash you in your damn face.”

Simone decided it was time to end the conversation. It had gone too far and it was obvious that her mother's accusation had pained Stefan. “Blah...blah...blah... Take your delirious ass somewhere and score; that's if you ain't done so already.”

“Yeah, I'm surprised you ain't nodded off by now,” Stefan said.

Simone hung up the phone, looked at Stefan, and took a deep breath.

Stefan got out of the car and shut the door. “See, I told you it would be fun,” he said, before making his way into the building for his interview.

Simone sat in the car, thinking about what her mother had said. She wondered if there was any truth to the claim she'd made about Stefan sleeping with Tony. Tony wasn't even Stefan's type. He was too scrawny and unkempt. She had never seen Stefan date anybody that was missing teeth like Tony. Stefan liked his men with wide, lean, muscular frames, dark brown skin, and he was crazy over the ones that wore grills in their mouths. Besides, Stefan was dating a man named Eugene that his friend, Paris, had hooked him up with. Stefan had written to Eugene while he was in the penitentiary and when he got released, he and Stefan had instantly become an item.

The man was fine. Simone told Stefan that he was lucky that
Eugene was a full-fledged homo, 'cause if he weren't, she would've cut his throat and gotten with Eugene. Between Stefan's clients and Eugene, she didn't see where Stefan had the time, or a need, to sleep with Tony. If Stefan did sleep with Tony, he had done it to be spiteful. But Stefan thought Tessa was the nastiest, scummiest bitch on the face of the earth and, for that reason, Simone didn't believe he would knowingly sleep with anyone she had been with.

Simone rubbed her hands together, feeling how dry they were, and searched her purse for the tube of lotion she usually carried with her. She took it out of her purse so often to soothe her dry hands, there was no telling where it was. After not finding any lotion in her purse, she searched the car, starting with the glove compartment and ending with the creases in between the cushions of the back seat. That's when she remembered that Stefan carried lotion in his gym bag. They'd packed their stuff in Stefan's gym bag so they could go to the pool after their interviews. Simone popped open the trunk, grabbed the gym bag, and hopped back in the car. She poked around in Stefan's bag longer than she'd anticipated before finding the lotion hidden away in a small zip compartment inside of the bag. After drenching her hands, she placed it back.

She noticed a bottle of prescription medication lying in the zip compartment. She picked it up and began reading it. She was curious. As far as she knew, Stefan didn't go to the doctor. He thought seeing the doctor was a waste of money. He'd even taken the liberty of going to the bookstore and buying a book of home remedies for them.

The year before, when Stefan had come down with the flu, he'd remained in the bed for four weeks. He'd only gotten out of bed to splash salt water on his face and to drink glasses of water
that he mixed with cayenne pepper three times a day. Simone had to bring his meals up to his room and force him to eat.

After two weeks, she'd started to become worried. He'd lost at least ten pounds and his eyeballs had sunk so far back in his head that she swore they would dry up and roll out at any moment. Simone had pleaded with him to let her take him to the hospital but he'd refused. One night she'd sat in his room, watching BET while he slept. He'd lain there with his eyes slightly open and his hands resting on his chest. It was the first time since childhood that Simone had viewed Stefan as a male. He didn't have on any makeup or nail polish. His facial hair had started to sprout out. The sight of him frightened her so much that she'd knelt down beside the bed to pray for his recovery. It was one of three prayers she had ever said in her life. That's what she seemed to do in her times of severe anxiety and confusion and only then.
