Morgan couldn’t be happier. She had a fiancé that loved her, a sister that supported her
,
and a town that
embraced her. Her real life
was even better
than her dreams could ever be!

Miles
had
finished sending the names of all his military buddies to
Pierce
when
the
direct line rang at his desk. Knowing it was Morgan
,
he didn’t even bother to check
caller ID
. She had promised to give him a call and let him know when her bachelorette party wo
uld be so he could tell Pierce.

“Hey, sweetheart,” Miles said as he answered the phone.

“It’s nice to feel wanted,” a deep voice said back to him.

“Cy! Sorry,
I
thought it was Morgan calling
,
” Miles paused, all his senses kicking in. “What’s the matter?”

Cy sighed into the phone, “Nothing a couple pain relievers can’t take care of. I had to call and offer my congratulations. Y’all are dropping like flies.”

Miles grinned. Cy
wasn’t
the marrying type. He was the travel
-
all
-
over
-
the
-
world, girl
-
in
-
every
-
port type
of
guy. “How’d you know?”

“I could see the water tower from here!” Cy joked.

“Where is here?”

“Switzerland.”

“What are you doing there?” Miles asked. Cy, with his shaved head and tattooed arm
,
wasn
’t really the Switzerland type.

“I’m skiing. Hence
,
the need for pain relievers.”

“Do you know when you’re coming home yet? You know I’d love for you to be in the wedding.” Miles hoped, but knew it wasn’t likely.

“Wish I could, but it doesn’t look like I’ll make it home. I’m sorry I’m going to miss the wedding. You know I want to be there.”

“What job are you on?” Miles wondered.

“Just trying to make my way though a whole bunch of snow bunnies,” Cy’s gravely voice chuckled.

“You know I could find out,” Miles said in all seriousness.

“I do, but you won’t
,
” Cy responded.

“Not yet. I will if I think I need to.”

“I know and I know I can count on you, but I need time to make my own mark
,
” Cy told him.

“I miss you, you know?”

Me
too. Tell everyone I love
them
. And try not to let Pierce get you all arrested down at the lake.”

“Yeah, then I’d need your help!”

Miles talked with Cy a little longer before he heard his cell phone ring.
They
said
their
goodbyes, but he couldn’t help but think something more was going on that Cy wasn’t telling him. Well, hell, he knew things were going on that Cy wasn’t telling
him,
he j
ust didn’t know what they were.

This time t
he caller ID on his phone showed
it
was Morgan calling. His dark mood lifted as he answered his phone.
He never envisioned himself as a family man, but he found himself looking forward
to getting home every night. E
ven if he didn’t tell Morgan, he dreamed of little children running around his office
. But f
irst he had a wedding to go to.

Epilogue

Morgan looked in the mirror as Pam attached her fingertip lace veil. Morgan loved
her
dress
,
a
lovely
ivory lace gown that hugged her curves and flared into a beautiful trumpet bottom. When she walked down the aisle it looked like th
e bottom of her dress swirled.

“You look so beautiful!” Annie clapped her hands as she walked into the room dressed in her amethyst bridesmaid dress and carrying Morgan’s bouquet of flowers.

“Oh, you’re stunning!” Paige cried as she came in after Annie.
“Are you ready to get married?”

“Absolutely!”

Miss Lily and her sisters took their seat
s
in the church. Beautiful string music
played
as the ceremony was about to
begin
. Each of the sisters gave the other
s
a grin. Only two more were left and they had a good feeling another Davies brother was going to be bit by the love bug very soon.
If not, they’d just have
to play cupid all on their own.

“Oh, look how handsome they all look!” Miss Lily whispered to her sisters as the Davies men came to stand at the front of the churc
h in their tuxedos.

“Do you really think Pierce will be the next to fall?” Miss Daisy asked.

“Twenty bucks says he is,” Miss Violet dug aroun
d her purse and showed
the twenty to Miss Daisy.

“Deal.”

The doors to the church opened and Tammy hurried in. Miss Lily felt her eyes widen at the si
ght
of the small sprite of a girl suddenl
y turned into a woman. Gone w
ere the jeans and t-shirt
, replaced by
a form
-
fitting
little black dress with a plunging neckline and
a pair of
four
-
i
nch heels.

“Whoa. Look at that accessory,” Miss Lily whispered.

“I know. Those shoes are amazing
,
” Miss Violet replied.

“She’s talking about that necklace that disappears into her cleavage
,
” Miss Daisy told Violet.

“You’re both wrong. I’m talking about him,” Miss Lily pointed to the man hurrying in behind Tammy. The women
all sucked in a breath as the G
reek god smiled down at Tammy and slipped her hand into the crook of her arm.

“Talk about tall
,
dark
,
and sexy
,
” Miss Daisy whistled as Tammy and her
hunky  m
an
took a seat.

“He looks like an underwear model,” Miss Violet said wistfully.

A whispered curse filled the church and everyone looked around to see who had said it, but then the music started and everyone turned to watch the wedding party enter. All except the Rose sisters
,
who saw the clenched jaw and fisted hands of Pierce Davies standing in front of the church before Cade
gently
nudged him and he put a smile back on his face.

Miss Daisy let out her own curse
and dug around in her purse until she found what she was looking for. She handed her sister a twenty. “I guess you were right.”

“Told
ya
,” Miss Violet grinned.

Miles stood at the front of the church waiting to get a glimpse of his bride. The candles twinkled
,
casting a warm glow on the purple and green flowers adorning the church. The music started and Miles felt his heart speed up. The doors to the church opened and his bride was there, gliding down the aisle toward him.

Miles felt
his
breath leave him as a lump formed in his throat. She
really
was breathtaking. She smiled up at him and he felt a love he had never known
before
. His own little piece of trouble was going to make him
the luckiest man in the world.

Before he knew it Father James told him to kiss his bride. He finally felt as if he could breathe. Some small part of him was worried the whole time that she’d refuse and he’d wake up from this dream. Miles lowered his lips to hers and kissed
her with all the love he felt.

“I am happy to introduce to you for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Miles Davies!”
